Fate
Two famous artistic families combined their talents in Maria Kirillovna Kozakova, who was born in Moscow on November 24, 1992. Masha’s mother is People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, actress of the Satire Theater Alena Yakovleva, daughter of People’s Artist of the RSFSR, the legendary Yuri Vasilyevich Yakovlev. Father - actor Kirill Kozakov, son of the no less famous People's Artist of the RSFSR Mikhail Mikhailovich Kozakov. But her parents divorced when Masha was only 4 months old. The difficult biography of actress Maria Kazakova, obviously, with annoying consistency, will begin with the piquant relationships of famous acting dynasties. The real father who raised and educated her from a very tender age was director Kirill Mozgalevsky. Masha began communicating with her biological father and grandfather at the age of 14, thanks to a chance meeting on the set. But family skeletons have long been put on public display, because Maria Kazakova is an actress who films a lot and actively, and her family ties were no secret.
The young years of a talented actress
Maria Kozakova, whose biography is just beginning, can hardly boast of bright events in her life. Unless her childhood, which ended not so long ago, is still revealing secrets to the public. Masha celebrates her birthday on November 24, and she was born in 1992 in Moscow. Her family is a gorgeous constellation of the most talented personalities from the acting community:
- mother - Alena Yakovleva;
- dad - Kirill Kozakov;
- maternal grandfather - Yuri Yakovlev;
- paternal grandfather - Mikhail Kozakov.
Both grandfathers have the title of People's Artists of Russia, both made an invaluable contribution to the treasury of cinema, both are gifted with a unique creative gift.
Masha’s parents, who inherited considerable talent from their fathers, are well known to the general public, and mother Alena Yakovleva was also awarded the title of People’s Artist. The trail of creative affiliation even touched his stepfather - Kirill Mozgalevsky is a film director by profession.
Mom and dad were unable to create a happy family and separated when the baby was only four months old. Their relationship developed too quickly, and the young man was completely unprepared for everyday difficulties and the responsibilities of a father. For the same reason, she also did not communicate with grandfather Misha. But grandfather Yura paid Maria so much attention and care that it more than filled the existing gap.
Many will think that because of such an environment, the girl should have dreamed of becoming an actress right from the cradle and should have absorbed this desire with the milk of her talented mother. But alas, they will be mistaken in their bold assumptions. The granddaughter of the venerable grandfathers did not show any hints, even the smallest, of such an attitude. The granddaughter was attracted by the desire to come up with a variety of necessary things that would help make a person’s life easier, then dreams of medicine, design, and even lawyering appeared.
Childhood
A creative family means publicity for a child from an early age. Masha was sent to a school in the capital, which specializes in choreography and music. Therefore, the further biography of actress Maria Kazakova and her future were obvious. At the age of three she was cast in a film for the first time. Later, her mother was busy filming Kirill Mozgalevsky’s film “The Temptation of Dirk Bogart,” and the girl was involved in this process in 2001. Small episodic roles in various TV series and films gradually turned Maria into an actress. In 2006, she starred in the role of Hailene in the film “Aziris Nuna”, then there were children’s roles in the TV series “Turkish March”, “Ivan Podushkin. Gentleman of Detective 2”, in the film “The Deal”. Her fate was finally decided thanks to an offer to star in the film “One’s Own Team” (150 episodes), received from her mother’s friend, the director of a casting agency. Maria Kazakova (photo below) was cast in the role of Anastasia, and during filming in 2007 she met her father, Kirill Kozakov, who worked on a nearby set in the film “A Woman Without a Past.”
Relationships with family
Kozakova Maria Kirillovna was born on November 24, 1992 in Moscow. The future actress’s family lived in theater and cinema, and instilled in their daughter a love for the world of audience sympathy and public life. Maternal grandfather Yuri Vasilyevich Yakovlev is a famous actor of Soviet and Russian cinema. And according to my father, Mikhail Mikhailovich Kozakov, who is also involved in directing activities, devoted his life to Israeli theater and cinema.
Maria’s parents, famous actors Alena Yakovleva and Kirill Kozakov, had a huge influence on their daughter’s development. Despite the fact that the family collapsed in 1993, when Maria was less than 6 months old, the father stopped participating in raising his daughter.
Maria Kozakova with her mother Alena Yakovleva and father
Since 1991, when the parents were still officially married, Maria’s future stepfather, Kirill Mozgalevsky, appeared in the life of Alena Yakovleva, who a year later began to take an active part in the girl’s life. Therefore, the growing Kozakova was not deprived of the attention of her parents and relatives. But the young actress met her paternal grandfather, Mikhail Kozakov, and grandmother Greta Antonovka, who worked as a costume designer in the theater, only in 2007, at the age of 14.
It was this year that she was lucky enough to meet her own dad, whom she knew only from photographs. The initiator of the acquaintance was Maria herself, who decided that she had already lost more than one year of communication with her father and should not rob herself anymore. It was then that she decided to go to Israel to meet her relatives.

The girl admits that she doesn’t hold any grudges against her dad for being absent from her life for so long. She believes that they should not cross out all the good things that they may have in the future with incomprehensible inventions and dark thoughts.
Maria studied at a school with a musical and choreographic focus, regularly performing on stage in various images. But, despite her relatives’ love for stage and cinema, she planned to become a designer. The girl liked to create new and unusual things with her own hands, so she was actively involved in this area. Later, already in high school, the actress decided that after graduation she would definitely enter a medical university and help people. But the fate of the actress, who had already turned to the path of acting, decreed otherwise.
Youth
Acting life has become familiar. Maria decides to try herself after ten classes at exams at numerous theater universities in Moscow under someone else's name. The next year (2009) she entered VTU. Shchukin to the course of the famous Pavel Lyubimtsev under his own name. She was prepared for admission by her grandfather, Mikhail Mikhailovich Kozakov, with whom she began to develop a family relationship.
Maria completed her studies in 2013 and immediately after graduation began working at the famous Satire Theater. Kozakova inherited her first theatrical role - Bethan in the production of "The Kid and Carlson Who Lives on the Roof" - from her mother. Alena Yakovleva once also made her debut in this performance. In the theater, Maria Kazakova is an actress of small roles. These are the productions “The Roads That Choose Us” and the time-tested “Wedding in Malinovka”. Throughout the entire period of study, Maria Kazakova continued filming films. Her filmography is represented by leading and episodic roles in TV series and films, which were watched with pleasure by millions of viewers on television.
Theater and films
The girl made her film debut at the age of 4. Masha was lucky enough to breathe the atmosphere of the film pavilion in the film that her stepfather was filming - “The Temptation of Dirk Bogarde.” The main role in the film was played by the mother. Maria doesn’t remember the first filming well, but she knows for sure that Kozakova’s creative biography originates from there, from an almost unconscious age.
Maria Kozakova in the series “Turkish March”
Later she appeared in episodes of the detective series “Deal”, “Ivan Podushkin. Gentleman of Detective 2”, in the 4th season of the popular television film “Turkish March” she played a pupil of an orphanage.
The young actress consciously entered the set at the age of 14. She worked every day for 8 months on the set of the youth series “Own Team”. It turned out to be exciting, but difficult. After all, Kozakova, who was not yet quite out of childhood, had to work hard. The strictest discipline, no absences because filming would be disrupted, and no one canceled school. But Masha liked this rhythm.
Maria Kozakova in the film “Own Team”
After working in one series, the young artist immediately appeared in another - in the popular “Carmelita”. On the set of this film, Masha finally began to communicate with her own father, because her parents separated when the baby was not even a year old. And now, 15 years later, their paths crossed: the father starred in the series “A Woman Without a Past”, the daughter in “Her Team”. They met when they went to neighboring pavilions.
The father decided to speak when fate and work brought him and his daughter together on the set of “Carmelita.” Kirill Mikhailovich and Maria had a heart-to-heart talk and decided that the past should be forgotten and a new life should be lived. Since then, the daughter has been constantly communicating with her father; he often shares his experience with Masha and gives practical advice.
Maria Kozakova in the film “Carmelita. Gypsy passion"
Filming in the series coincided with the Unified State Exam and entrance exams to a theater university. It was then that Maria Kozakova fully felt all the hardships of acting, but did not give up.
Kozakova became a student at the Shchukin School in 2009. Masha entered the course of Pavel Evgenievich Lyubimtsev, while continuing to act in parallel. According to Alena Yakovleva, studying did not benefit the girl: at the university, Masha, who was not known for her self-confidence before, developed many complexes about her relationship with famous artists.
Actress Maria Kozakova
Kozakova had to prove her talent by studying hard and completing more creative tasks than her fellow students. However, the daughter of Alena Yakovleva graduated from the educational institution with dignity in 2013 and became an actress of the Satire Theater.
Over the past 5 years, Maria’s theatrical repertoire has been replenished with a number of striking works. Among the performances in which the artist is involved are “Wedding in Malinovka”, “Lysistrata”, “Too Married Taxi Driver”, “The Kid and Carlson, Who Lives on the Roof”.
Maria Kozakova in the theater
Together with Mikhail Efremov, Mikhail Politseymako Kozakova played in the production “Chapaev and Emptiness”.
During her studies, the girl appeared in an episode of the series “House of Exemplary Maintenance” and the melodrama “Duel”. Soon, the soap opera “Honey Love” was released with the participation of the actress in the title role. Masha appeared in the negative role of fashionista Lera, who decided to steal a young man from her friend.
Maria Kozakova and Pavel Priluchny in the film “Bad Blood”
In 2012, the melodrama “Bad Blood” was shown on TV, where Maria Kozakova starred in the title role. I had to play the difficult fate of a woman who was raped and gave birth to a child. Scenes of violence and emotion were not easy. The image of the villain on the screen was recreated by Pavel Priluchny.
The next pages in the artist’s filmography are the series “Misalliance”, “Craftsmen”, “Orlova and Alexandrov”. The main character, producer Irina Kozakova, plays in the project of the STS channel “Neformat”. Gosha Kutsenko and Konstantin Yushkevich also appeared in the film.
Maria Kozakova in the film “Citizen Nobody”
In 2020, 2 series were filmed with the participation of Maria Kozakova. In the detective story “Citizen Nobody” she played the daughter of the main character Orlov (Ivan Oganesyan), in the melodrama “Bestseller in Love” she played the role of library employee Asya, who is not affected by the charms of the womanizer Konstantin (Ilya Bledny).
Film work
The actress works a lot. She can be seen in episodes of the television series “House of Exemplary Content” (2010), the films “Duel” (2011), “Honey Love” (2011), “Bad Blood” (2013). Maria managed to work with directors Leonid Belozorovich, Aleko Tsabadze, Jafar Akhundzade, Alexander Itygilov.
But Maria Kazakova (photo above) became truly famous thanks to the television series “Carmelita. Gypsy Passion” directed by Elena Tsyplakova. The series has been rejuvenated. The gypsy girl Khitana appeared in it after escaping from the camp. The girl hid from an imposed marriage with an unloved person at Carmelita's.
The drama “Bad Blood” showed another side of the young actress’s talent. Her heroine Masha Bogatyreva was a lovely girl. Her first independent trip to Moscow ended in brutal rape, and this almost killed Masha. Moreover, the culprit was the son of a famous oligarch. Her life was barely saved, but she gave birth to a child from the rapist. The grandfather made the child Masha the heir of all his factories, and his own father - a target for destruction.
Professional activity
After graduating from the Shchepkin VTU in 2013, the young actress was accepted into the troupe of the Satire Theater. The girl could be seen on stage in many theatrical productions, including “Lysistrata”, “Baby and Carlson”, “Wedding in Malinovka”, “Too Married Taxi Driver” and others.
A famous production is “Chapaev and Emptiness”, where Maria played on the same stage with such artists as Mikhail Efremov, Mikhail Politsemako. In addition, the actress takes part in various enterprise projects, among which we can highlight the play “A Little Favor from a Big Friend.” In the detective comedy, the actress’s stage partners were Vladimir Zaitsev and Daniil Spivakovsky. The project was a success not only in the capital's theater venues and cities of Russia, but also abroad.
At a conscious age, the young actress appeared on the set of the youth series “Own Team” when she was 14 years old. The girl worked daily on the set for eight months. At the same time, Maria still managed to attend classes at school.
At that time, the girl very clearly realized all the disadvantages of the profession. In summer clothes she had to lie on the cold ground, she also took off with a high fever when she was sick and much more.
Maria's filmography currently consists of 20 film projects. Maria played star roles in the TV series “Carmelita. Gypsy Passion" (2009-2010, role of Khitana) and "Bad Blood" (2013, role of Masha Bogatyreva). The series “Carmelita” became for the actress her first big film work.
She gained a lot of experience - a year and a half of filming. Particularly interesting and bright films in the film career of the young actress are the projects “Honey Love” (Lera Chechina), “All the Treasures of the World” (Anna Bessonova), “Neformat” (Irina Serebryakova). The girl also has many leading roles in films.
In 2020, Maria became a weather presenter on the TV Center channel. In 2020, the talented actress continues her active theatrical activities and often tours, participating in various performances. Today Maria prefers working in films to playing in the theater.
In recent years, Maria has played in the following films: “Citizen Nobody” (Nastya Verzhbitskaya) and “Bestseller in Love” (Asya).
New work – series “Neformat”
Efficient and in demand, Maria Kazakova is an actress who plays the main role - Irina Serebryakova - for director Anton Fedotov in the 2014 series “Neformat”.
Irina’s work as a producer was hanging by a thread because of a small post on her personal blog. Criticism from superiors did no good to anyone, especially on the Internet. But she was not fired, but a completely failed and unprofitable program was imposed. On the personal front there were only losses - her loved one abandoned her, and she also had nowhere to live. But you can’t relax, and Serebryakova is trying to get the talk show out. She was not given funding, so the girl is recruiting a team of strong professionals, but with big problems. Her main hope is in the magnificent host of the show, Roman Arsenyev, who has one drawback - he is a heavy alcoholic. Even his relatives did not want to know this man, and absolutely everyone had long ago refused to work with him. How Irina will cope with a program that directly depends on such an inadequate person can be seen in the series.
Filming
The new television series “Craftsmen” directed by Vsevolod Aravin is in the process of creation; Maria Kazakova also stars in it, whose filmography will be replenished with another title. The film is about two investigators fired from their jobs in the police. Attempts to find a job did not end in anything, but suddenly there was hope to again engage in my favorite and familiar detective work. But this job was given by their former regular client, a bandit and repeat offender, and currently a respected businessman with whom everyone is on first name terms. No one offered to engage in crime, and the duties were to their hearts. The former investigators not only remained permanently employed by this company, but unanimously came to the conclusion that now they are not putting people in prison, but unraveling intrigues. As a result, crimes are prevented. There is enough humor in the film, there are wonderful actors, among them our heroine.
Maria Kazakova demonstrates persistent daily honing of her professional skills. The growth of her professionalism can be seen in the works of the actress.
Maria Kazakova is an artist from Siberia who creates through fashion.
Without the past there is no future. Fashion is a part of culture, which means that everything that happens in it now, in the future, is the same cultural heritage as the ancient national costumes of different peoples. Siberian Maria Kazakova, who now lives and works in the Crown Heights neighborhood of Brooklyn, cherishes this pattern and builds her creative vision on it. Maria is an artist whose creative tool is fashion. This is how she herself determines her professional coordinates. Maria designs men's clothing. In February, she debuted at New York Men's Fashion Week with an expanded version of the collection she graduated from Parsons School of Design with the year before. The brand is called Jahnkoy.
By the way, Parsons is not her first institute. First, Kazakova studied economics for two years in her native Novosibirsk. Then I quit, moved to Moscow and studied women’s fashion at the British Higher School of Design for four years. After graduating, I worked for a year and went to London for a year-long program at Central Saint Martins. Afterwards, with a diploma in fashion in hand, she set off to conquer New York, where she polished her education with two years of a master's program at Parsons, studying the relationship between fashion and society.
Her first collection has a social message. Style is the outer manifestation of what is going on inside you. A mix of interests, knowledge and prejudices, at the same time a very personal and externally imposed thing. Maria clearly mixes the external and the internal: a deliberate, very fashionable sport now (mass, imposed from the outside) with elements of the Tatar national costume (personal). There is also a theme of recycling: the designer uses old sports items in his work, sewing baubles, patterned ribbons and amulets on them. Hundreds of hours of painstaking manual work were spent on this.
The collection consists of two parts: The Displaced graduation line and a capsule created together with Puma. The entire ensemble reminds us that fast mass fashion has practically strangled the culture of national costume and pushed traditions and crafts into the background. Maria decided that the best solution to the problem was reconciliation, and united the two warring poles in her work. The word “Dzhankoy” translated from the language of the Crimean Tatars means “village of the new spirit”. Her Jhankoy is a virtual world, a city where unity reigns. And the lion, which appears on T-shirts, jerseys and basketball shorts mixed with Puma panthers, is the king of this world.
Kazakova, following Bradbury, Orwell and Huxley, masters the dystopian genre, bitterly ironizing about what is happening around her: the obsession with labels, the endless influence on the minds of television and social networks, and what all this can lead to. Not just a designer - an artist and philosopher. The LVMH Prize jury could not ignore such a set of characteristics. Kazakova is this year's nominee. For her, this is an opportunity to convey her message, broaden her horizons and gain support from the powers that be in the fashion world to work and develop further. We will root for Maria and wait for her next creations. The start is promising.
