Sport as art. The story of the unique Alexandra Soldatova

Childhood and youth

Alexandra Sergeevna Soldatova was born on June 1, 1998 in the city of Sterlitamak, Republic of Bashkortostan. The girl spent her childhood in a private house. Before being awarded the status of champion, she was an active child, often playing pranks with her brother, with whom she remained friends in adulthood.

Little Sasha got into sports by accident. Her parents took her older brother Alexei to the gymnastics section in their hometown. The sister came to the hall with the boy, played and watched other students.

Soon the family moved to the Moscow region, and the mother decided to take her son to classes again, but by mistake she came to the rhythmic gymnastics section. When she was informed about this, the woman was not taken aback and enrolled her daughter in the group. True, the first lesson ended quickly for Soldatova; she was too small to handle the objects.

A year later, Alexandra returned to the rhythmic gymnastics club and began training with other children. The girl quickly fell in love with sports; she always got ready and urged her mother on, for fear of being late for training. However, soon the future champion began to have problems at school. She tried to keep up with everything, but the teachers were unhappy with the absenteeism, which is why the mother thought about taking her daughter out of the circle, but did not have time.

When Sasha was a teenager, coach Anna Shumilova (Dyachenko) drew attention to her, who invited the young gymnast to move to a sports boarding school in Dmitrov. Separation from loved ones was not easy for Soldatova, but she understood that this was the only way she could achieve heights in sports, so she agreed.

Anna Vyacheslavovna immediately fell in love with her new pupil, because the girl was serious and reasonable beyond her years. In addition, even then the young athlete could boast of good stretching, she was flexible and flexible. She obediently followed the instructions of her mentor and did not ask unnecessary questions.

Shumilova made sure that Soldatova attended training in Novgorod, where the Russian national team athletes were trained. Every day she took Sasha there in her car, and then took him to the boarding school. On the road, the girl slept, did homework and talked with the coach, sometimes touching on personal topics, which brought them closer.

Soldatova’s sports career 2014

Already at the beginning of the 2014 season, Alexandra was on the reserve team of the Russian national team. Soldatova’s debut took place during an international tournament that took place in the capital of Russia. Here Sasha won only bronze in the all-around, which she received after the Averin sisters. After that, in March in Hungary, or rather in Debrecen, Sasha won the gold medal in the all-around, thereby ahead of the world vice-champion, who at that time was Anna Rizatdinova.

In addition, at this time Sasha took the leading place and reached the finals in the competition with clubs, ribbon, second, performing in the number with the ball, and third in the number with the hoop. In addition, in the city of Corbeil-Eson, the athlete won second place in the ball event, and in Tashkent - a bronze medal in the all-around.

The most successful and significant events for Alexandra were her performances at international competitions. At the April competitions in Riga, Sasha won 4 gold out of 5 possible, but she made a mistake in performing with the ball and therefore took only 4th place. In the summer, in July, in the Turkish city of Izmir, Sasha won the all-around, performing with a ribbon, and won three silver medals in other events. In August, the gymnast won gold in all her performances in Brazil.

Soldatova’s sports career 2014

During the Russian Championships, which took place in 2014, Alexandra confirmed her place by winning a bronze medal in the all-around. In addition, at that time, the winners of the Russian team, Yana Kudryavtseva, and Margarita Maamun, performed with her.

In the fall, in September, at the final competitions of the World Cup in rhythmic gymnastics, held in Kazan, Sasha performed a number out of competition and was able to score only 70,700 points in the all-around, failing to get ahead of Kudryavtseva, Mamun, and Melitina Stanyuta. Subsequently, following the results of the competition, Irina Winner stated that Alexandra would represent the Russian rhythmic gymnastics team at the world championship together with Kudryavtseva, as well as Margarita Mamun.

Than took place in the Turkish city of Izmir in September 2014. Alexandra took part in the all-around, where she performed two numbers - with a hoop, including a ball, earning 18,050 points in the first performance and 17,675 in the second. According to the results of the competition, Sasha, Kudryavtseva, and Mamun are world champions in the team competition. You can watch Alexandra Soldatova’s rhythmic gymnastics performances in the video that is available online, also online during the live broadcast.

Gymnastics

Soldatova began her career in the Russian national team in 2014, but first in the reserve team. That same year, she moved to senior level and made her debut in this status at the Grand Prix stage in Moscow, where she stood on the podium with a bronze medal. At the World Cup in Debrecen, the girl won gold, impressing the judges with exercises with clubs; as a result of her performance with the ball, she became second, and with the ribbon - third.

Later, Sasha went to Riga to take part in the “Baltic Hoop” competition, where she showed herself brilliantly in the numbers with ribbon, clubs, hoop and in the individual all-around, but made a mistake during exercises with the ball. She brought home 4 gold medals. The season ended for the girl with a team victory at the World Championships in Izmir, Turkey.

The sports star started the New Year 2020 with a gold medal at the Grand Prix in Moscow after a successful performance with the ball. Then she took part in all stages of the World Cup and reached the finals, where she took 3rd place in the all-around and second in all types of exercises. In the team tournament of the World Championship, Alexandra again received gold, and in addition won silver for her performances with clubs and hoop.

In subsequent years, the gymnast repeatedly brought home gold medals, impressing the audience with her technical execution of the basic elements, perfect jumps and splits. 2020 was a difficult year in Sasha’s biography: she received a serious leg injury and was forced to refuse to participate in competitions.

Only after a full recovery was Soldatova able to go back to the World Championships, where she received gold medals for the team competition and for the ribbon exercise. In 2020, the gymnast brightly represented Russia at the European Championships in Baku, taking silver for her routines with ball and ribbon.

In the fall of the same year, Alexandra again gave cause for concern about her health. During the World Cup in Portugal, the girl lost consciousness and was forced to miss the World Cup. Because of this, rumors appeared on the Internet about the imminent end of the champion’s sports career, which were denied by her coach.

Why did gymnast Alexandra Soldatova try to commit suicide?

World rhythmic gymnastics champion Alexandra Soldatova was hospitalized after a suicide attempt. The athlete herself went to the Morozov hospital, and she was immediately taken to the Sklifosovsky Research Institute. Doctors note the patient’s condition as satisfactory. But most likely you will now have to forget about a great sports career.

Past the Olympic Games 2016

Alexandra, despite her tremendous talent, was considered the unluckiest gymnast on the Russian team. The gymnast had to miss the second Olympic Games in a row. In 2020, she was pulled out of her trip to Rio at the last minute. Now the possibility of her performing at Tokyo 2020 was practically excluded.

Alexandra Soldatova burst into the world of artistic gymnastics in 2014. All the coaches noted that Sasha’s data is simply crazy, and his flexibility is borderline fantastic. Soldatova was predicted to have a magical future, world champion titles and, of course, Olympic gold. But it seems that this is another story of dashed sports hopes.

In 2016, Alexandra was considered the main candidate for a trip to the Olympic Games in Rio. At the Olympics, only two sets of awards are awarded - individual and team. Even a leading country like Russia has only two places in the individual all-around. But the level of Russian rhythmic gymnastics is so high that getting into the team practically guarantees an Olympic medal, and the only question is which one - gold or silver. And the rewards come with good bonuses, an expensive car and often an apartment as a gift, and most importantly, a place in history.

But Alexandra was cut off from the team literally on the eve of the 2016 Olympics. The coaches decided that the Russian team in the all-around would be represented by two friends - Margarita Mamun and Yana Kudryavtseva. They did it not without difficulty, but they managed it and took “gold” and “silver” respectively.

And Alexandra Soldatova went on to the next Olympic cycle - four years of painful training and stress to try to win an Olympic medal.

The Averina sisters are favorites

During these four years, rhythmic gymnastics has gained new leaders. The competition in this sport in Russia is such that several athletes compete for each place. And now the main stars in this form are the Averina twin sisters. Arina and Dina diligently clean up almost all the gold at the world championships. Most likely, they will be the ones who will go to the Olympics.

Wiener's statement

With a 99 percent probability, this became known after Alexandra Soldatova was removed from the national team the day before the Grand Prix in Moscow due to health problems.

“She showed certain hereditary aspects, let’s say, at the DNA level. They made themselves felt in the process of growing up,” explained the President of the Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation Irina Viner-Usmanova . “As soon as I saw that Sasha was sick, that she had some health problems, she was withdrawn from the World Championships. Then she understood and accepted it, thanked me.”

Mysterious disease

This announcement was made on February 5th. A few hours later, Alexandra Soldatova was hospitalized.

It is not reported what exactly the gymnast’s diagnosis is. But health problems first appeared in September 2020 at the Portuguese Grand Prix. Soldatova lost consciousness on the platform and was forced to withdraw from the competition. The next day, she published a statement on her Instagram, trying to reassure fans: “I know that I probably scared many people yesterday by filming, but it was just a precaution.”

But soon Soldatova was “unhooked” from the squad for the World Championships. And perhaps the most talented gymnast of the last decade has almost no hopes for the Olympics. Now they have disappeared completely.

Many immediately remembered that on Monday the composition of the Russian national team for the Moscow stage of the Grand Prix, which will be held in Luzhniki, became known. The gymnast’s name was not listed on the team. Could this have influenced a situation that could have ended in tragedy? The fact that not everything was all right with the athlete could be understood from social networks.

Sasha posted a photo on social networks in January and captioned it:

“I receive a lot of messages of support from you, each of which I am very pleased to read. I want to answer you that everything is fine with me, there is no need to worry about me. Now I am going through a recovery period, trying to get some rest and spend time with my family. At the moment I am not training, all the decisions we make at this stage are in favor of health. I now have time to reboot a little and recover well, so I want to enjoy every moment, so I also wish you a good rest at the beginning of the year.”

No one took this as a warning then. Moreover, she later posted her photos from the ski slopes.

A COMMENT

After the scandal broke, the gymnast and her coach Anna Dyachenko tried to deny that the athlete was hospitalized due to a suicide attempt.

“Yesterday morning Sasha called from the hospital and said that she was taking tests and that I should not worry,” RIA Novosti quotes Dyachenko as saying. “What I hear now is as much a shock for me as it is for everyone else.”

But after a few hours another message appeared:

“I just came from her,” Dyachenko said in an interview with TASS. — There was no suicide attempt. She is in good condition and will be discharged tomorrow.

And then Alexandra Soldatova herself published a video on Instagram.

“The press writes complete horror, complete lies,” Sasha says on it. —

I went to training yesterday. This morning I was preparing breakfast and cut myself - it happens. The knives are sharp, I’m a gymnast and I haven’t been standing in the kitchen that long. I’m on my way to training and I feel that it’s better to seal the wound and treat it professionally, so as not to self-medicate. I stopped at the hospital and warned the coach that I was a little late. This is where the whole story ends. And then they write: “What a nightmare! Vienna! I cut myself! Horrible!" “Actually, I just don’t have words.” Everything is fine with me, alive and well. Everything is great, I’ll go to training now.”

The fans, judging by the comments, didn’t really believe Alexandra. They noticed that the athlete was nervous, and also noted that because of one cut, no one would take the girl to Sklif and keep her there for a day. But in any case, it would be great for this story to be left behind, and for the wonderful gymnast Alexandra Soldatova to return to big competitions.

Suicide attempt

On February 6, 2020, fans were shocked by the news that the gymnast wanted to commit suicide. A message appeared on the Baza telegram channel that Alexandra was taken to the hospital with cuts on her arm. Later, another source, Mash, wrote that the girl herself went to the hospital and admitted to trying to commit suicide. The sports star allegedly did not name the reason, but said that she did it “out of stupidity.”

Anna Shumilova was the first to react to the news, denying the press statements and assuring the gymnast’s fans that there was no suicide. But fans still remained concerned about the condition of their favorite, because shortly before this, Irina Viner-Usmanova announced that Soldatova had been diagnosed with a genetic disease that required treatment.

Throughout the day, conflicting information about the athlete’s health continued to appear on the Internet. According to some sources, the girl was in serious condition under the constant supervision of doctors, others claimed that Sasha was feeling well and was already giving interviews to the press.

“@Sanchos21

One of the intrigues of the sports world for almost three years now: Is Sasha Soldatova (@Sanchos21), a gymnast of the Russian national team, an escort?

“The most beautiful gymnast in the world,” according to various experts and publications, has been on the list of expensive escort girls for the third year in a row. It's hard to believe that this cheerful, bright young creature is involved in something like this. “Anyone but Sasha!” – Fans are beating their chests on social networks. Even professional pimp Petya Listerman came to the gymnast’s defense: “And for a million dollars, Sasha won’t sleep with anyone!” Oh, how... If I were Soldatova, I would tense up. Listerman, let's face it, is not the best lawyer. Especially with regard to the protection of moral character and maiden honor.) But! Listerman’s words are still worth listening to. What is he saying? Firstly, he easily and paternally calls the gymnast “Sasha”. Not Alexandra Soldatova, not “this girl”, etc. Gently and intimately: “Sasha.” As if he knows her well, or at least is familiar with her. Secondly, Listerman is not saying that Sasha was included in the escort list by mistake (if such a thing is even possible) or by misunderstanding. He says: “Sasha will not sleep with anyone...”. What if it's just dinner? Or sail on a yacht? A?!

I won't bore you with reasoning. The logic is quite clear. Escorts are different. Some people sell sex and their body, while others sell time, status and perhaps some other joys of communication.

Let's move on to the facts. More than two years ago, I came into contact through work with the fugitive Ukrainian oligarch Kurchenko. Let's just say that I worked on a team that dealt with some sensitive issues of this strange gentleman in all respects. We did this for a year and a half, so during this time we had to deal with different things and had the opportunity to see many moments up close. So, for at least six months, I witnessed how, on Kurchenko’s instructions, negotiations were conducted with agents regarding Alexandra Soldatova. The same one. I won’t lie: I didn’t witness any meetings, especially intimate ones, if there were any. Kurchenko is generally a strange character. And by appearance and by habits and by rumors, he is a homosexual. But he constantly orders and meets with escort chicks. He sits with them in restaurants, talking for hours. I don't know why he needs this. Perhaps this is how he compensates for his complexes. Soldatov is just a fetish for people like him.

A few more points about Soldatova. Check out her Instagram account. It is cleaned as if its owner is always on a reconnaissance mission. No geolocations, no marks or places. Why such a conspiracy? One more detail. When rumors about Sodatova working as an escort became impossible to ignore, a rumor was quickly launched on social networks and in the press: Soldatova was dating Russian hockey player Kiril Kaprizov. The story is beautiful. But here the authors of the rumor did not take into account the fact that a little earlier, a friend of the athlete, Alina Zagitova, publicly and openly announced her relationship with Kaprizov. So who is dating Kaprizov? Zagitova? Soldatova? Or are they both? Or did Soldatova’s managers just screw up? And if Soldatova is dating Kaprizov, and this is no longer a secret, then why is there not a single photo together on social networks, not a single place in which these two people would be present at least once together and at the same time? Why such modesty and shyness, which is not typical for national gymnasts in everyday life?

So... Returning to the story with Kurchenko. Escort agents work with Alexandra Soldatova one hundred percent. Moreover, at a very high level. Again, from the conversations it was clear that those with whom Kurchenko communicates, and these are high-ranking Russian officials - from the presidential administration, from the government - have at least met with her, have her contacts and give some recommendations regarding her.

Kurchenko, by the way, if anyone doesn’t know, lives almost constantly in one of the Moscow City towers.

It’s also almost impossible to get out in the block where this tower is located, as gymnasts from the Russian national team hang out as they go to work. All very recognizable faces. Coincidence? Don't know. What they are doing there is a big question. I haven’t found an answer to this: if anyone knows, please tell me. You could meet Soldatova there when I worked there.”

Alexandra Soldatova now

On the evening of February 6, the athlete got in touch through Anna Shumilova’s Instagram. She stated that she cut her hand while preparing breakfast in the morning and went to the hospital for help. The girl hastened to reassure fans and assured that she was absolutely fine, horrified by the hype inflated in the press.

Now Sasha continues to practice rhythmic gymnastics, delighting the audience with new colorful performances. She keeps in touch with fans on the pages of VKontakte and Instagram, where she often publishes photos from training and in a sports swimsuit. The photographs show that the girl manages to stay in shape - with a height of 174 cm, she weighs 55 kg.
