Maria Lopatova: “Having adopted a child, you understand that you are not living in vain”

23-04-2019 0:00

Maria Lopatova, a former party girl, and Andrei Kirilenko, a basketball player, are happy despite everything. They are the parents of four children and, it seems, are not going to stop there. The couple has three natural children and one adopted child. Many people wonder why the couple needed to adopt a child if they could have their own. By the way, not only this question haunts envious people. People cannot understand the secret of the happy relationship between Maria and Andrey.

Maria Lopatova and Andrei Kirilenko are still happy to the envy of everyone

Maria Lopatova and Andrei Kirilenko met quite a long time ago. Maria lived in a civil marriage with Andrei Grigoriev-Appolonov, the redhead from “Ivanushki,” helped her husband on tour, spent a lot of time traveling with him, and on one of them she met basketball player Kirilenko.

Feelings did not flare up immediately, only after a while Maria left Appolonov for another Andrey. The couple officially registered their marriage in 2001. Maria abandoned her fun life full of parties and devoted herself to her family and children.

Maria Lopatova grew up in an athlete's family; her father was a famous Soviet basketball player. She always maintained that a man should be the head of the family. It seems that she still carried this rule into her family. Lopatova is 8 years older than Kirilenko, but this does not prevent her from communicating with her husband as equals.

She sometimes calls Andrei the eldest child, although she herself states that her husband has long left the role of a child and supports his entire family, constantly and hard working. Maria is raising children and is quite happy. Today, the Lopatov-Kirilenko family can be called exemplary.

Is Yeltsin's 17-year-old granddaughter Smolov's fiancée? What is known about her and her relationship with the football player

The year 2020 began with the news that Fedor Smolov was rocking the Atlantic resorts with the 17-year-old granddaughter of Boris Yeltsin. At first everything was at the level of rumors - the girl commented on all the football player’s vacation photos. And then the Lokomotiv forward showed everything himself by posting a joint photo.

Who is Maria Yumasheva?

The youngest daughter of Boris Yeltsin's youngest daughter Tatyana from her third husband Valentin Yumashev, a former adviser to the first president of Russia.

Born April 14, 2002. Since childhood, Maria was surrounded by specially invited nannies who taught her English and French. Also, according to various sources, as a child the girl studied ballet, music, vocals, tennis, drawing, gymnastics and horse riding. Perhaps not everyone is a hobby.

In 2009, Valentin and Tatyana Yumashev, as well as their daughter Maria, received Austrian citizenship. However, they did not refuse Russian passports. The girl studied in England.

“We have a large family, 18 people.
I have 3 grandchildren, 3 granddaughters and 5 great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are already adults, they also have children, only the youngest granddaughter Masha studies at school in England, she herself wanted to. And the great-grandchildren are growing up so fast! All are already schoolchildren, studying in different schools in Moscow. One great-grandson is already finishing school. They all study well, I very rarely go to school with them, mostly my granddaughters - Katya and Masha - take care of their children’s school affairs... Almost every Sunday everyone comes to my house for lunch. And this is a great joy for me. I live the life of our entire family and worry about everyone.” Naina Yeltsina, widow of Boris Yeltsin, grandmother of Maria

Maria gained wide fame in 2020 for flaunting her life in the company of her older brother, Boris Yeltsin. The Telegram channel “Cello Case” describes the young lady as follows:

“The search for new bracelets from Valentino, Prada shoes, Chanel handbags and Christian Dior glasses distract Yumasheva Jr. from visits to her personal cosmetologist. Yeltsin's granddaughter is a VIP traveler. She confidently advises friends on private jets, the 5-star Four Seasons in New York, and calls Veterok her favorite restaurant in Moscow. To reproaches on social networks that the Yeltsin family lives in the “world of diamonds,” Yumasheva Jr. contemptuously replies: “You’re nobody!”

After that, Maria closed her Instagram, but from time to time she can be seen on her brother’s Instagram. And now also at Smolov’s.

What is her attitude towards football?

In addition to her passion for Fedor Smolov, Maria, apparently, is worried about Chelsea in London.

Most likely, in the near future, Maria will have to change her blue T-shirt to a red and green one. And we will see her more and more often at the “diamond” of the Russian Railways Arena.

Why Maria Lopatova and Andrei Kirilenko decided to adopt a child

Immediately after the modest wedding, Maria and her husband flew to live in America. There she gave birth to her first son, Fyodor. The birth was long and difficult. For three days Kirilenko did not leave his wife, supporting her as best he could. A few years later, the couple had another son, Stepan. It would seem that the family is becoming even happier and stronger. But Maria constantly says that she and Andrey were still missing something in life.

The couple decided to adopt another child. In America, this can be done through intermediaries; you just had to pay money and choose a child. But Maria and Andrey took a different path. They completed courses lasting 9 months and prepared for adoption with all responsibility. After that they were able to choose the baby. The girl they chose was 1.5 months old at the time of adoption. The eldest son was already prepared for the appearance of his sister in the house, but the youngest was very tiny and did not understand anything.

Now the girl Alexandra is growing up with her brothers and does not feel at all different from them. Maria and Andrey love their children equally. When Lopatova is asked why she adopted Sasha, she answers everyone the same way. The family has enough money to help at least one child. If she and her husband can help, then why not do it.

What is the secret of the happy life of Maria Lopatova and Andrei Kirilenko

When talking about their family, Maria and Andrey always do it with admiration. They are always happy with the time they manage to spend together. Maria saw her father as a champion in everything. She was looking for the same champion for life together. Lopatova claims that she is ready to support her husband in everything and always. In turn, Andrey also never leaves his wife without support.

Many are interested in how Maria managed to persuade her husband to adopt Sasha. And she replies that she didn’t persuade her at all. Andrey loves children and is ready to help them. Therefore, he immediately agreed to his wife’s proposal for adoption. By the way, the Kirilenko family has recently expanded. In their small cozy world a son, Andrei, appeared, whom Maria also gave birth to in America. Most likely, the family now feels full and quite satisfied with life.

Everyone has their own secrets of family happiness. Some people share them, but others are not ready to present their secrets on a platter. In any case, the family of Lopatova and Kirilenko have earned the right to happiness and are fully enjoying it.

Maria Lopatova: Basketball should be one of the three most popular sports in Russia

58 — Internal news page The wife of the President of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF) Andrei Kirilenko, Maria Lopatova, headed the marketing and PR department at the RBF.

13:2002.11.2015

The wife of the President of the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF), Andrei Kirilenko, Maria Lopatova, headed the marketing and PR department at the RBF. Maria Lopatova told an Izvestia correspondent about her new role and the first changes in the basketball federation.

— I am not an adviser to Kirilenko and not the “gray eminence” of the RFB, as many people say and think. I have an official position in the federation, I work according to a work book,” noted Maria Lopatova. “I’m currently working on a plan for the development of basketball and am going to implement a strategy that will be in effect throughout the entire term of our new president. The main goal of the RBF is to popularize basketball. We are capable of making basketball the number three sport in Russia after football and hockey. Basketball is a very accessible sport, not so difficult to learn and does not require expensive equipment, ice, turf... It is available to schoolchildren, students and adults. We must attract as many ordinary Russian families as possible to basketball.

— What are the main differences in your strategy?

— The project includes the creation of RFB-TV, the sale of television rights, the organization of exhibition matches of Russian national teams, active interaction with the NBA and other tools to popularize basketball. I would like to work in such a way that the federation can independently generate its own income and support itself, and not just exist on state money.

— We are accustomed to the fact that all Russian sports federations work at a loss and live only at the expense of attracted sponsors...

— Basketball can be managed in a new way. It's great that many companies support sports, but it's not the only way to live. We welcome any help, but we will strive to get on the market track and develop the federation in a new way. Let's start with quality broadcasts and create those products that you want to be involved with. This will allow us to attract sponsors on a commercial basis. Living only by finding sponsors and using their budget is a primitive approach.

— Will the RFB focus on the construction of publicly accessible sites?

— I have a whole marketing map written out on many pages. Yard areas are just a particularity. In general, the RFB focuses on secondary schools. For two years we have been developing the School 2.0 program, which allows us to teach any student basketball. Having opened our program, the teacher will have a formed plan to teach a basketball lesson from 5th to 11th grade. The success of the Russian national team directly depends on the success of the basketball youth that needs to be raised. It is also necessary to motivate coaches and improve their qualifications.

— What problems have you already encountered in your work?

— The only problem is the lack of qualified personnel. I want to attract talented and capable people to my department who understand marketing and basketball. But given that basketball is not very popular in the country, there are only a few such people. I hope that my 15 years of experience acquired abroad will allow me to train new personnel in the field of basketball marketing.

— How do you intend to build relationships with the NBA?

“We have already agreed that after the New Year, one top NBA game will be shown every week on a public Russian TV channel. We will also produce an analytical basketball program dedicated to the NBA, Euroleague and other significant tournaments. NBA Commissioner Adam Silver approves of our ideas.

— How will the interaction between RFB President Andrei Kirilenko and the media be structured?

— I can say that the president is always available to the press. In the new House of Basketball, every day is an open day. Our program also includes a monthly round table with Andrey’s participation, where we invite interested journalists. The first such meeting will take place in November.

— Can we say that Kirilenko’s team is already fully formed?

— The backbone is formed. The position of the general manager remains open; the decision will be made by the executive committee of the RFB. But this is not an urgent decision. The men's team will play only next fall. Currently, the RBF actively operates a reserve department for all national teams, headed by Oleg Ushakov, who successfully resolves all current issues.

— Do you really conduct all interviews with job candidates at the RFB?

— Personally, I only interview candidates for my department. I prefer to focus only on my own area and not interfere in the work of other departments.

— Will the RFB have a new website or are you satisfied with everything?

— The site in its current form does not suit us in any way. The first thing I started with was the website, developing a new logo and rebranding. The new website will be ready in 10 days. It is in our best interest to launch it as soon as possible. We are actively working on this.

— How does your husband feel in his new role as president of the RFB?

- Fabulous. He is in his place, and this is an absolutely logical continuation of his career. In my opinion, there is no person in Russia who understands basketball better than Andrey. He has no special education, but he is a born public figure.

— You moved to Moscow with four children. How do you manage to combine work and family concerns?

- I have a lot of experience. My family has never affected my professional career. I have been working since I was 16 years old. Sports marketing has been my specialty since 2001. It was in my office at ID marketing group that I met my future husband. We started our family journey with professional relationships and learned to strictly separate family from work.

— Will you continue your work in the fashion industry?

— I gladly exchanged all my activities in the fashion industry for activities in the basketball industry. Fashion is more of a hobby for me, but basketball is my real passion and life.
