Dasha and younger brother Evgeniy were raised in a simple, working-class family. His father devoted his entire life to the railroad, his mother worked in a greenhouse plant. Astafieva grew up as an active, sociable child. The girl's hobbies included dancing, drawing, and sports acrobatics.

The future singer and model was born in a small town called Ordzhonikidze (Dnepropetrovsk region of Ukraine).
Her family was the most ordinary - her father worked at the local railway, and her mother worked at a greenhouse plant. As Dasha herself recalls, at an early age she was a typical “ugly duckling.” Her face was covered with an allergic rash, and the proportions of her figure made her think about whether the girl was eating well. Due to her expressionless appearance and not the most exemplary standards of behavior, she was an outcast at school. She was not liked by her peers, and teachers often gave her bad grades. Some changes in her life occurred only in her youth. During this period, the future model began to actively attend various clubs and sections. The favorite hobbies of the future Ukrainian pop diva were acrobatics, drawing, dancing, and also... carpet weaving.
A meteoric rise
At the age of sixteen, Dasha first participated in the large-scale competition “Miss Dnepropetrovsk”. On the project, the girl acquired the necessary acquaintances and contacts.
An acquaintance of Astafieva advised her to make a professional portfolio in order to quickly join the “local elite.” The student took the advice into account and starred in a candid photo shoot.
Thanks to photographs in the Nude style, Astafieva appeared on the cover of the Ukrainian glossy edition of Playboy.
In 2007, according to the editor of the magazine and the male audience, Dasha won the honorary title of Girl of the Year. Later, the candid photo shoot of the shocking Ukrainian woman was republished in six foreign publications. Model plus vocals – the key to success
Having felt the taste of victory over her own complexes, Dasha decided to expand her horizons. The successful model reached the finals of the music show of young talents “Star Factory”. After which Astafieva, together with Yulia Kavtaradze, organized the NikitA project.
In 2009, the girls presented their debut album “Machine”, which included the following hits: “Queen”, “I bite”, “Soldier”. The singers shot a video for the song “Ropes” marked “18+”.

At the directing department, where Astafieva studied, they taught vocals, which Daria practiced regularly. These activities brought benefits to Astafieva: after moving to Kyiv, Daria met producer Yuri Nikitin, from whom she later received an offer to take part in the Ukrainian “Star Factory” (2007). From that moment, Daria began to study vocals professionally and after “Factory” she became a member of the group NikitA, which included Yulia Kavtaradze, a former member of the group “A. R. M. I. " In March 2009, the duo released their debut album “Machine”. In the same year, the NikitA group applied for participation in the Eurovision contest from Ukraine, but at the same time Dasha received an offer to star in the American multi-part television show Girls Next Door. As a result, the group refused to participate in the music competition. In 2011, Astafieva, together with new member of the NikitA group Anastasia Kumeiko, received the Golden Gramophone award from Russian Radio. However, in addition to musical ambitions, Dasha also had another dream: from the age of 9, she dreamed of becoming a Playboy model, when she accidentally found an issue of the magazine at home with Katharina Witt on the cover. At the age of 16, the girl took part in a beauty contest in Dnepropetrovsk, and later made a professional portfolio and began to develop as a fashion model. In April 2006, Astafieva became the “playmate of the month” of the Ukrainian edition of Playboy, and the following year she won the title of girl of the year. In June 2008, the girl was invited to film in the USA, where she visited the villa of Playboy magazine founder Hugh Hefner. In addition to working in the music industry and filming for magazines, Dasha Astafieva also tried herself as a TV presenter on Ukrainian channels (she was the host of the Kino TV program on the Tonis channel, the Weather program on the M1 music channel) and actress. In February 2010, Dasha Astafieva played in one of the short films in the anthology “Lovers in Kyiv,” which was presented at the 64th Cannes Film Festival.
Discovering new talents
The next step in Astafieva’s creative development was cinema. In 2011, the singer made her debut in one of the episodes of the film “The Chiropractor.” Then there were filming in such projects as: “Lovers in Kyiv”, “Island of Luck”, “What Men Do”.
In 2020, Vladimir Lert’s comedy “Valentine’s Night” was released, in which Dasha played the main character Valentina Ivanenko. The artist’s partners on the set were: Kirill Kyaro, Oleg Sobchuk, Elena Turbal, Konstantin Voitenko, Viktor Andrienko.
In 2020, Astafieva starred in the Ukrainian-produced comedy project “Swingers”.
