Biography
Daria Shashina is a popular singer, ex-soloist of the girl band “Serebro” and an increasingly famous Instagram blogger and video blogger.
Daria Shashina, familiar to fans of Russian pop music as one of the soloists of the Serebro group, was born in September 1990 in Nizhny Novgorod. In the family in which Dasha grew up, music sounded constantly. Daria Shashina's grandmother worked as an accompanist at the local conservatory. Dad, Yegor Shashin, who later became an arranger and composer, also graduated from this educational institution. Dasha's mother, Alexandra Kovtyreva, was a violinist. At one time she graduated from music school. So Daria inherited a good ear for music and a wonderful voice from two generations of relatives.

When Dasha turned 2 years old, another girl, Tatyana, was born into the family. And after 5 years the parents divorced. Daria and Tanya stayed with their mother.
Dasha, like her parents, graduated from music school. She studied two classes at once: piano and violin.
After some time, Alexandra Kovtyreva married for the second time. Her husband was the Englishman David Chatterton. A British citizen worked in Nizhny Novgorod under a contract. The family went to England. Daria Shashina lived there for some time.
According to some reports, Alexandra's marriage to David Chatterton did not last long. The woman returned to Russia. Now she lives in Moscow.

As for Dasha, upon returning to her homeland, the girl entered the Nizhny Novgorod Conservatory named after Mikhail Glinka, where her grandmother and father were well remembered. Here Shashina studied 4 years and, having completed a 2-year training in a special program at the local Institute of Foreign Languages, left for the USA in 2012. The girl had long dreamed of moving to the homeland of her beloved jazz.
In America, Daria continued her studies in vocal and language courses. To earn a living, the young vocalist worked as a fashion model and sang in one of the restaurants on Brighton Beach.
Music
The singer’s creative biography could have taken a completely different path. Dasha Shashina had no intention of returning to Russia. But one day, having accidentally learned about the announced casting for a new soloist of the group “Serebro”, of which the girl was a fan, the singer came to Moscow.

Daria wanted to try her hand at becoming part of a popular group. Happiness smiled on the singer: she successfully passed the casting and was accepted into the project by its producer Maxim Fadeev. The girl replaced the departed soloist Anastasia Karpova.
As part of the team, which already included Olga Seryabkina and Elena Temnikova, Daria Shashina began performing in October 2013. The girl starred in 6 “Silver” videos and took part in the creation of a new album under the working title “925.” Subsequently, the recorded material for the new album was stolen, and the official release of the record was postponed. A year later, the group announced the release of another album, which was called “The Power of Three.”
The girl’s first appearance in the group was the premiere of the video for the single “Ugar” jointly with DJ MEG. Daria starred in the video and also re-recorded the vocal part, which was originally performed by Anastasia.
Together with the group “Serebro”, Dasha recorded several hits, including “I won’t give you up”, “Don’t hurt more”, and “Confused”. Shashina participated in the recording of videos for these compositions. The composition “I won’t give you up” was the first track originally released by Daria.
In addition, this song became the only composition recorded by the trio of Seryabkina, Temnikova and Shashina. In 2014, Elena Temnikova left the group. The singer stated that she wanted to take care of her family and have a child, and a note appeared on the official website that the soloist left for health reasons. The new member of the group was Polina Favorskaya.
On April 29, 2020, the group released a new single, "Kiss". The song was aimed at an English-speaking audience and promoted the upcoming album abroad. The Serebro group performed with this song at the Coca-Cola Summer Festival.
The last Russian-language single in support of the new album was the track “Let Me Go.” In 2020, videos were released for the compositions “Kiss”, “Confused” and “Let Me Go”.
At the end of March 2020, it became known that Daria Shashina left the group. The singer named the reason herself: serious health problems. The girl informed fans about this on her pages on social networks.
Everyone who closely watched Dasha’s career and the singer’s performances recently noticed that the singer had gained weight and began to move less on stage. With a height of 164 kg, the singer initially weighed 52 kg, which met the conditions for selection into the musical group. As Maxim Fadeev openly states, the weight of the “Silver” soloist should be up to 55 kg and age up to 26 years. Daria recovered to 55 kg, and the singer’s weight continued to grow.
Everything became clear when Shashina talked about her illness. It turns out that the soloist started to have pain in her knee about six months ago. Over time, the pain intensified and it became more and more difficult to move. When Daria turned to specialists, the singer received a disappointing diagnosis: congenital dysplasia of the knee joints. Due to the enormous stress that the singer has endured recently, the disease has begun to progress. At the beginning of March, disaster struck: the meniscus tore in my right knee.
Daria Shashina said that doctors recommend that she not move and have surgery. Dasha not only cannot go on stage, but the singer is even prohibited from climbing the stairs. Daria is awaiting a response from one of the clinics in Israel, where, on the advice of Max Fadeev, she sent an MRI image. The producer hoped that the girl would not have to leave the group, but the doctors insisted on surgery and a relaxed regime.
The Serebro group first performed with a reduced lineup, then a new soloist joined the group - Katya Kishchuk, who replaced Daria Shashina and completed the trio.

In 2020, the group presented the album “The Power of Three,” which became the last joint album between Daria and the group. The songs of “The Power of Three” were recorded by the trio of Olga Seryabkina, Polina Favorskaya and Daria Shashina. The only song in which it was not Shashina who participated, but a new soloist, was the track “Chocolate”. The album included 16 tracks, including a number of singles released in advance in support of the album.
Due to the scandalous story with the materials for the album “925,” it turned out that the album “The Power of Three,” which is based on the same recordings, was in the works for three years, which fans also recognized as symbolic. Also, “The Power of Three” became the first album of the group that was not released on CD.

Career
Since childhood, Dasha dreamed of visiting the homeland of her beloved jazz, she adored American films and was well acquainted with the work of famous overseas musicians. Once in the States, she was so imbued with the local atmosphere that she even thought about staying in this country. A young, striking blonde with a good command of English quickly found a job: she starred in commercials for fashion brands and sang in a restaurant on Brighton Beach.
Daria Shashina’s height is 167 cm. However, over time, the girl began to miss her homeland and, having learned about the casting for the popular group “Silver”, decided to take part in it. Arriving in Moscow, she immediately went to a meeting with Max Fadeev and easily became a new member of the group instead of the departed Anastasia Karpova.
Daria Shashina in the group Serebro, in the company of Lena Temnikova and Olga Seryabkina, she starred in six videos of the group and took part in the recording of the album “The Power of Three”. In 2014, Elena Temnikova was replaced by Polina Favorskaya, and two years later Dasha also left the group. She suddenly developed a congenital disease of the knee joints, due to which doctors strongly recommended that she stop active touring.
Daria Shashina and Katya Kishchuk are very similar. Katya Kishchuk took Shashina’s place - fans were amazed at her resemblance to Shashina - and Daria took a closer look at her health. She flew to Israel for treatment, where she underwent several operations. During rehabilitation, the girl gained a lot of weight, but managed to pull herself together and returned to perfect shape in record time.

Personal life
The personal life of Daria Shashina is in full view of fans. Due to her enormous busyness, Dasha did not have affairs with anyone for a long time - the girl was constantly working. Touring, filming, rehearsals - these activities “ate up” my leisure time and did not allow me to be distracted by anything else.

- Greetings, Daria. Few of us find “our” job, once and for all. Who did you dream of growing up as a child, who do you want to become in 10 years, and would you now want to go to work on a national TV channel if the salary was 1.5 times higher, but with 2.5 times more responsibilities and workload? - Greetings! I agree - it’s impossible to find a job for the rest of your life. As a child, I wanted to become a ballroom dancing coach (luckily, I managed to be in this role). In 10 years... I don’t even know. I’m a girl, and things change so quickly here. A year ago, sitting in a robe at meetings in the open-hearth and blast furnace shops, I could not even think that I would work on a television channel. At the moment, the field of PR and television is very close to me. And I’ve never been afraid of workload and responsibilities, so when I realize that there’s not enough room for me here and it’s time to move on, I’ll change something in my life line again. — What, according to personal observations, do modern youth lack for high-quality self-development, and how, among the huge sea of media specialists, can we find and select those who will interestingly bring “light” to TV viewers? — As experience shows, young people lack activity, drive and, oddly enough, healthy ambitions (which came as a surprise to me personally). How to find... I don’t know. We are constantly searching. I like to take on completely “green” people and train, as they say, to suit myself. There are a lot of talented young people, the main thing is to discern this core. We are proud of those who had the courage and professionalism to go further
-
Few people really watch TV today. Especially young people are increasingly abandoning media and simply “living” in social networks and “pirate” cinemas... how important and how difficult is it to attract the attention of the viewer and keep him not for a minute, hour or day, but to make him his permanent consumer? — If we talk about our TV channel, then, fortunately for us, it is informational. And it is designed for people aged 35 and older. The channel needs to be developed from different angles and for audiences of different ages. For the older generation - television broadcasts and a website (since modern people also do not have the opportunity to spend a lot of time watching the same news release... but rather quickly skim through the site and isolate all the important information for themselves) For young people - Facebook, Contact, Youtube . — Many journalists use local media as a springboard for further employment at national television and radio companies... how to deal with the “turnover” of personnel and not be a “pass-through”? — We do not fight staff turnover. This is a completely useless activity. It has always been so, is and will be. Some leave, others come. We are proud of those who had the courage and professionalism to go further and conquer new horizons. And new people always mean new breath, which is necessary for development. — What do an ideal day, an ideal broadcast and an ideal rest look like? — It’s difficult to describe an ideal broadcast. Turn on the municipal “TV Channel Z” and watch) The ideal day and rest depend on what is happening around you. To describe it in general terms, it is silence, complete harmony and tranquility.
