Biography
Veronika Plyashkevich is from Belarus. She grew up in a simple family that had nothing to do with art. At an early age, the girl discovered hearing and a beautiful voice. She took part in school amateur performances with pleasure.
The talented performer was noticed and invited to a pop and vocal studio under the guidance of the famous Belarusian composer Sergei Zhdanovich. Here the girl learned the basics of singing art.
After graduating from school, the young vocalist did not even imagine that she would soon become a student at the theater department of the Belarusian State Academy of Arts. In one of the interviews, Veronica admitted that this happened completely by accident, as they say, “during my school years, I attended a vocal studio and, in principle, assumed that my profession would be related to creativity. But I didn’t think about an acting career. A friend advised me to go to the theater school. And, as it happens, my friend didn’t get in, but I went there completely unprepared - and got in the first time.”
The future artist studied at the course of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, Professor F. S. Voronetsky. And in 2006 she received a diploma of higher education with a degree in drama theater and film actress.

Some are gloomy and unresponsive, others are stone-deaf for the light of the stars, for the song of birds, for music and for poetry.

Cinema
The actress made her film debut in 2007 in Denis Skvortsov’s action film “Shield of the Fatherland.” Later he played a cameo role in Vadim Derbenev’s mystical series “Divination by Candlelight”.
In 2011, director Vitaly Dudin invited Plyashkevich to play the main role in the comedy “At the Crossroads.” Veronica managed to surprisingly subtly and truthfully play a girl from the Belarusian hinterland. The artist was so organic in this image that Russian directors noted her work and began inviting her to their projects. In Vladimir Tumaev’s melodrama “The Witch Doctor,” Veronica shone in the role of Dina Matveeva.
"SMERSH. Foxy burrow"
In the popular war film by Alexander Daruga “SMERSH. Fox Hole" with Pavel Trubiner and Anatoly Rudenko, the actress played junior sergeant Katya. The events described in the film take place in 1944. German saboteurs attack a car containing an employee of the Red Army General Staff, transporting documents of special importance. The attack fails to repel, and the package of documents ends up in the hands of the enemy. The commander of the saboteurs, Colonel Neuber, is captured while crossing the front line. He is the only one who knows the location of the cache with important papers.
2013 turned out to be perhaps the most productive year in the actress’s film career – she took part in eleven multi-genre projects, in three of which she played leading roles. In the action film "Countryman" directed by Maxim Brius, Veronica played a teacher. In Andrei Kanivchenko’s life melodrama “Step-Sister,” its heroine turned out to be Nastya, who is irreconcilably at odds with her sister (Lyudmila Svitova).
"Traces of the Apostles"
In the adventure film “Traces of the Apostles” by Sergei Talibov, the artist portrayed the partisan’s liaison Stefania. Berlin during the Third Reich, Nesvizh in 1942 and modern times serve as the historical backdrop against which exciting events unfold related to the search for the family heirloom of the Radziwill family - the golden statues of the twelve holy apostles.
Legends and reality, secrets and mysticism, murder and love are intertwined in this search and confrontation between Soviet and German intelligence services, members of occult societies and other characters in the film.
"Beauty and the Beast"
A year later, the actress created a colorful image of saleswoman Varvara Gvozdikova in Ivan Krivoruchko’s melodrama “Beauty and the Beast.” Veronica's heroine sells tomatoes and is known as the terror of the local market: she won't digress for words and won't allow herself to be offended. For her irreconcilable character and always grimy face, Varya is called a “monster.”
According to the law of the genre, where there is a “monster”, there must be a “handsome man” nearby, a meeting with whom can be fatal. The artist’s partner in the film was Alexey Anishchenko. Also taking part in the film: Andrey Karako, Tamara Mironova, Valeria Shkirando and others.
In 2020, the artist again received several interesting offers. She coped admirably with two roles at once in Alexander Kasatkin’s crime film “You Can’t Die by Running.” Its heroines were twin sisters Alla and Ada, separated by their parents in childhood, who met years later only at their father’s funeral.
At the same time, the actress starred in Sergei Girgel’s melodrama “Stay Forever.” Here she created the image of a beautiful, independent and self-sufficient woman - lawyer Valeria, who faced a difficult choice: her loved one turned out to be the “kidnapper” of her own child.
One of the actress’s last works took place in Ivan Krivoruchko’s project “Simpler than Steamed Turnips,” which will premiere on the Rossiya TV channel. The artist can also be seen in Alexander Efremov’s drama “Beloved City” about the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, about those who during the war were rightly called “Soviet tank aces.” In the film, the actress made up an ensemble: Alexey Chadov, Maria Fomina and Liza Arzamasova.
During her short cinematic career, Veronika Plyashkevich managed to play more than three dozen roles in films by Russian and Belarusian directors. Today she is one of the most sought-after young film and theater actresses.
Career and filmography Bortich
Alexandra’s creative breakthrough began with the painting “What’s My Name.” The casting for the series “Deffchonki” was unsuccessful, but director Nigina Sayfullaeva, who was filming a psychological drama, drew attention to the young contender. In the film, Bortich got the main role, which she performed wonderfully. The film received many awards and became a prize-winner at Kinotavr.
The next year was especially happy for the young Russian actress. Sasha participated in the filming of “Duhless-2”, which is why she was included in the TOP 9 actresses of 2020. Next came work in the film “About Love”. Mikhail Efremov, Vladimir Mashkov and Renata Litvinova starred with Bortich. In the series “Shot,” Bortich wonderfully embodied the image of a purposeful provincial girl who became a biathlete. Another work of 2020 was the role in the film “The Elusive”.
Personal life
Veronica has been married for many years. Her husband, Andrei Senkin, also an actor, works with her in the same theater.
The artist talks about how their meeting took place: “How did we meet? He came to the theater when I was already working there. I remember being incredibly impatient to finally see him and get to know him. I heard more about Andrey, they whispered about him on the sidelines of the theater - he was new, and it’s always interesting what kind of person he is. But I still couldn’t get a good look at him until he himself walked into our dressing room. And here we are together - I don’t know what else I can add here, I’m overwhelmed with feelings, unexpected words, thoughts, inspiration, drive, sheer positivity...”
Young people, according to their colleagues, are happy halves of one whole. They don’t get tired of each other, despite the fact that they are constantly together: both in the theater and sometimes on the set.
Interview
About theater and cinema
“Like everyone else, as a student I had enthusiastic eyes and a love for everything theatrical: people, the stage. Now the attitude towards the theater has already been fully formed, and some other, more conscious love is coming. I like going on stage, I like my roles. Katarina in The Taming of the Shrew is especially dear to me.
During her student years, the actress did not act in films not only because teachers do not like to let students go to filming: “I was convinced that I was absolutely not a film actress. I understood this one hundred percent and ultimately accepted it as a given.”
“Now, when I get roles in films, I understand that the theater is my home, my rear, my people are here. And cinema is a fun business trip.”
“In cinema now, unfortunately, there is no detailed work on the role and no opportunity to carefully analyze it. The actors are confirmed, and filming can begin in a few days. In the theater, you work on a character for a long time, rehearse, and have time to think about what works and what doesn’t. That’s why cinema is always a risk.”
About the roles
“During rehearsals and the subsequent series of performances, you essentially let another person into you, and, therefore, trigger the mechanism of their influence on you. Of course, it enriches you and fills you with new content. And this can be easily explained, because you carefully study each role, try on the character traits of the heroine, analyze motives and actions, this is akin to psychoanalysis ... "
“I gain a lot from “communication” with my character, but I also give a lot in return, my personal one. Any other actor will play my roles completely differently. I'm lucky to work with directors who respect my personality. This is cool!"
“I am interested in the roles of strange people with difficult destinies. We are attracted to heroines in whom some kind of breakdown occurs, when they are, as they say, swayed in one direction or another.”
About myself and husband
“I can’t live one day at a time without thinking about the consequences... In my life there have been reckless actions, spontaneous moves, stupidity... Having made these mistakes, I realized that it is necessary to adhere to some kind of backbone, to have principles, firm positions that nothing can loosen I think this defines a strong personality.”
“In fact, I’m terribly impulsive and spontaneous, my emotions sometimes go wild, but I change a lot about myself. Without my husband, nothing would have worked out for me: I lack willpower and patience. Andrey teaches me to be specific: to cut off the unnecessary, superfluous, to be brief and precise, to pour less water.”
“When my husband and I are together, we don’t think about the fact that we’re both actors.”
“Andrey is a great gift of fate, the most grandiose event in my life. I understand that there is no person dearer and closer than my husband. Only in a family is selflessness, endless trust, honesty, true love, and sincere feelings possible. I live by this. I try to convey this with every step I take on stage.”
