When Daineko was 5 years old, the family moved to the Belarusian capital - Minsk. There Valery entered the music school at the conservatory and began to master the violin, eventually learning to use the viola. In high school, the young man was fascinated by jazz, and soon he joined the Minstrels group.

After an unsuccessful attempt to enter the Belarusian Conservatory, the artist began his studies immediately in the 3rd year of the Minsk Music College, where he continued to master the viola. During this period, the young man earned extra money by performing in restaurants and worked in an orchestra under the direction of Boris Raisky. At the same time, Daineko began collaborating with Russian pop stars, including Sofia Rotaru and Valentin Badyarov.

At 34, the artist decided to settle down and married a girl named Irina. The chosen one already had a child from a previous relationship, for whom the man was able to replace the father. During the marriage, the couple had a common daughter, Victoria Daineko, who accidentally turned out to be the namesake of the famous singer, who is not related to Valery.

The musician’s stage career began in 1977, when he joined the vocal and instrumental ensemble “Pesnyary”. The soloist performed the song “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”, which brought fame to the group. As part of the group, Valery traveled throughout the Soviet Union and went on tour in Africa and the USA. Everywhere they were accompanied by photographer Yuri Ivanov, who took high-quality photographs of the stars. During this period, Daineko’s repertoire was rapidly expanding with new albums and compositions.

Valery Daineko and VIA "Pesnyary"

Soon the performer decided to continue his education and entered the Minsk Institute of Culture, from which he graduated with a diploma as a choral conductor. And then he left VIA Pesnyary to start working in the orchestra under the direction of Mikhail Finberg. At the same time, Valery taught vocals at the Institute of Modern Knowledge named after A. M. Shirokov.

In 1998, the artist was invited to perform in the Belarusian Pesnyary ensemble, which was formed mainly from Pesnyary artists. Over the years of its existence, the band's discography has been expanded with more than 10 collections of songs. They were awarded a gold medal for their contribution to the development of art.

On November 29, Valery Daineko, the “golden voice” of the Belarusian Songwriters, celebrates his 65th birthday.

Honored Artist of the BSSR, soloist of the Belarusian Songwriters ensemble Valery Daineko celebrates his 65th birthday on November 29. Naviny.by and the birthday boy looked into his home photo album.

Having known the musician for almost fifteen years, I could be sure that for my visit, several stacks of albums and a dozen flash drives would be ready and arranged in chronological order. I was wrong about something: there were not “several” albums, but so many that on the 25th I stopped counting them.

I have seen many of the photos before, they are in personal albums and circulated in the media, but for our publication the hero of the day did not spare an exclusive.

Parents of Valery Daineko are from the city of Berezino. He is very kind to his small homeland. He could have built a country house near Minsk in some village near the Tsars, but he built it next to Berezino.

V.D. — I was born in Rudensk. There is a family legend that my father, while writing with his pen, drew something wrong on the front page of the newspaper. This was still the time of Stalin’s rule, so friends advised my father to leave Berezino just in case. That’s how the family ended up in Rudensk, and we didn’t live there long. And I spent from two to five years in Crimea in a sanatorium, then for another three years I went to rehabilitation throughout the summer. My parents moved to Minsk when it was time for Gene, his older brother, to go to school.

Valery's father, Sergei Vasilyevich, is a professional musician, who worked as the director of a music school for a long time. Mom, Dora Efimovna, had phenomenal hearing and a sense of humor, which her son inherited.

As a high school student at a secondary special music school at the Belarusian State Conservatory, Valery performed in the Minstrels ensemble. Then he entered the music school immediately in his third year, while simultaneously working with his brother Gennady in the ensembles of the Yubileiny and Stone Flower restaurants.

Daineko auditioned for “Pesnyary” back in 1970. And successfully, but...

V.D. — In those years, I didn’t really like Pesnyary, since I was interested in and, one might say, sick of completely different music.

Valery performed other music in the ensemble “Rovesnik” and in the group of Valentin Badyarov.

V.D. — We wanted to call it “Minsk”, but we were not allowed. And “Coeval” broke up, the reason is Cherche la femme.

Then Valery was invited to Chervona Ruta.

In 1977, Daineko came to Pesnyary. The first song in the repertoire was “Belovezhskaya Pushcha”. With the ensemble, Valery traveled throughout the USSR, and there were plenty of foreign tours: from the USA to African countries.

V.D. — The famous photographer Yura Ivanov worked a lot with Pesnyary. Not only was there reportage shooting, but he also came up with interesting photo sessions. In addition, he knew how to negotiate filming anywhere. Here we are at BelAZ.

V.D. — And this is many years later, “Belarusian Songwriters” in the same place. By the way, on the 65th anniversary of the plant.

V.D. — I got married at 34 years old. The wife already had a daughter, Yana, from a previous marriage. Often children do not accept “new” dads, but not in our case, Yanka recognized me from the first meeting and immediately began calling me dad.

In the summer, the Pesnyary tour schedule certainly included resort towns. The musicians combined performances and relaxation with their families. In this photo, Valery is with his wife Irina and youngest daughter Vika.

In 1992, Valery left Pesnyary, then worked as a soloist in Mikhail Finberg's orchestra.

V.D. — Over the course of four years, I sang about 60 songs there, about 30 of which were performed for the first time by me, that is, these were premieres. Recorded a jazz concert and a program of Jewish songs.

Soon after leaving Pesnyary, Valery’s family life began to burst at the seams.

V.D. “My wife and I maintained a normal relationship; in any case, the children did not suffer because of our discord.

Little Vika often went on tour with her dad, and it is not at all surprising that she chose music as her profession. Once there was a common thing... I called Vika and said: “Your dad is angry, nervous and just doesn’t swear... And that’s what to do?” Vika gave good advice. "Dad? - she seemed to ask again. She made this word somehow voluminous, it contained so many shades of tenderness and love... -Angry? Oh, don’t take this seriously.”

And a little over a year ago, this wise girl was married to an American. Valery says that the wedding was celebrated in America according to local traditions, one of which was the dance of the bride with her father.

What's in the albums from the mid-90s? Oh, yes, here everything is as they most often write about Daineko: “a ladies’ man,” “a ladies’ man,” “he studied women to the tips of their nails.” Photos of different girls hanging in clusters on the artist. Let's skip it. It is useless to ask, the hero of the day will only remain mysteriously silent.

The “pesnyar’s” brother Gennady is also a musician and pianist. He worked on cruise ships most of his life. Yana is the lead singer of the group “New Gems”, Vika is a singer, and also composes songs herself and not only for herself, niece Valeria is a teacher of Chinese and English. Gennady says that his wife chose his daughter’s name: “She just liked the name.”

In 1995, the first international music festival “Golden Hit” took place.

V.D. — Great artists came to Mogilev then. It was exciting for me to perform on the same stage with Vladimir Troshin. After the festival closed, Alexander Lukashenko invited all the artists to a banquet. No one knew in advance, no one had a camera, only I happened to have a point-and-shoot camera, a film one...

We were invited to this festival later, but the first ones had a stronger lineup of artists. In general, I think that Soviet retro music has been undeservedly forgotten - there was a lot of interesting things.

In 1998, Valery returned to Pesnyary, but soon most of the musicians left the group, creating the Belarusian Pesnyary. If previously musicians toured all over the world, now there are fewer trips abroad, but earnings allow them to travel to different countries as tourists. But albums with inscriptions London, Belgium, Italy, China, etc. Let's put it aside - there are too many of them.

In 2001, Valery Daineko celebrated his 50th anniversary. His parents are still alive...

Thanks to journalists, fans know that Daineko has a huge “kitten” collection and a large collection of car models. It's a pity that no one has ever written about the multi-thousand-strong music library. This is a moving collection, constantly updated, Valery gives some of it to his daughters or friends. One photo against the background of a wall with disks would hardly be expressive - the topic deserves a separate publication.

Fishing is Valery’s oldest hobby. And yes, fishermen, of course, are such people - they can exaggerate. But these carps were caught by the “pesnyar” and he was not greedy - he allowed his friends to take pictures with the rich catch (information verified). And in the album “Fishing” there are many photographs of nature - all around the Berezina. Printed photographs of this kind in an album are surprising and touching in the age of digital technology and Facebook.

V.D. — Grandchildren are a miracle. I already have two of them! I've wanted to babysit them for a long time. And my daughters were happy! Yaroslava was born to Yanka, we call her Yasya. A real beauty and flirt. And after 11 months, the youngest daughter was pleased: Vika gave birth to Christian. Yaska lives in Moscow, I can see her more often. Kristik is in America, but I still watch my grandson grow up, fortunately, communication means allow it. In the summer they visited me in the village, but Kristik was very little - he was not six months old then, but he already understood everything. Look, what a meaningful look.

Daineko’s eyes are sad – both journalists and fans noticed this. But now, when grandchildren appeared, the sadness disappeared somewhere. I don’t want cliches like Daineko doesn’t age, looks great and other unnecessary admiration. It’s just clear that grandchildren give confidence that the family continues and everything in life was not in vain.
