After failures in his hometown, David decided to move to the capital. There he immediately decided to start a career as a blogger. As David himself admitted, entrepreneurship depressed his creative nature, and he could not give people joy, which he so dreamed of after finishing his career as a dancer. Another reason why Manukyan decided to quit entrepreneurial activity was his father’s problems. He was set up by his business partners, which gave rise to many other business problems.

But these difficulties only strengthened the guy, and he set himself a goal - to arrange his life so that he would never need anything. He and his mother worked around the clock to pay off his father's debt. They even had to sell their home so that their parents would have enough money to pay off the debt.
The guy doesn’t really like to remember the time in which he had to work tirelessly. Every day was like two peas in a pod, similar to the previous one: from early morning until late at night I had to work hard.
David moved to Moscow in 2020, and immediately became obsessed with the idea of becoming a blogger. At first he lived with relatives, but soon rented his own place and moved. The cash reserves brought from Novosibirsk were enough for the guy to buy a video camera and rent an apartment. He began actively filming videos on his YouTube channel and tried to invent his own style of running this channel by watching hundreds of videos from other, more experienced video bloggers.

To promote his profile, the man began to collaborate with other, more famous bloggers. Mid-January 2019: The media are literally “bursting” with indignation, even RIA Novosti did not ignore the fact of the incident on the main street of the capital. A young man and a girl, blocking several lanes of traffic, move along Arbat to the music. “The capital’s traffic police has begun to find out the identity of those who published the video on social networks,” RIA Novosti published this information. It’s strange that it was necessary to find out something: Dava and Karina Cross, at the end of filming on Arbat, posted this post on their accounts.
The noise was incredible! Until now, if you search for “Dava and Karina,” information about the incident on Arbat will appear in at least ten lines at the top. Within an hour, the video published on the Internet quickly gained over a million views; the daring couple was admired, but no one had the desire to repeat their “feat.” And rightly so, because the brave bloggers were arrested, in the Presnensky district court of Moscow they made a decision: a fine and ten days of arrest. Mr. Navalny tried to stand up for David and Karina, but his only “weighty” voice in support was drowned in the general chorus of condemnation from the official parties.
Who can argue, the trick is not very beautiful! But if you look closely, the media were very disingenuous when they published facts about this event. Point by point below, how it was covered in the press, and what actually happened:
- Representatives of the traffic police on Arbat saw (this was later stated by Karina) what the young people intended to do. Between the moment when the traffic was stopped with the help of two cars, and the triumphant procession of the couple along the asphalt, not a second passed, not two, and nothing was done. They, probably the traffic cops, were wondering themselves: “What will happen next?”;
- Yes, three lanes of traffic were blocked, this was confirmed by camera footage. But the same cameras show that the special lane (for ambulances, police cars, and so on) remained free. David later voiced this and confirmed it by posting the camera footage on his YouTube channel;
- Statements that a woman gave birth in an ambulance before reaching the clinic, that someone, again, died in the ambulance because they were not taken to the hospital - this information was not later officially confirmed. As, indeed, are other publications of a similar dramatic nature. If this really happened (even an isolated case!), then the bloggers would not get off with ten days;
- The most important lie (why lie, you have to call a spade a spade) in the media: the conversation was about a weekday and rush hour. What rush hour, what weekday, excuse me? It was Sunday, almost noon, when there is rather “sluggish” traffic on Arbat!
In any “commercial” business, what is the main thing? Minimum costs and maximum profit. This shocking passage through the car lane could have been registered with the appropriate authorities, as is done when filming official videos. But this costs a lot of money - amounts reach several million if it is necessary to block, for example, Musa Jalil Street (almost the edge of Moscow) for a couple of minutes. It’s hard to imagine how much a traffic stop on Arbat would have hurt Dava and Karina. It’s clear: they simply saved money on the production of commercially profitable material. For which they paid with a ten-day prison term and a fine. By the way, the recording in court shows: David is holding up well, but the girl could barely hold back her tears.
What else makes DAVA M interesting (and useful)
Did he become incredibly famous just for his daring antics? Firstly, he really sings great and moves well. His videos were extremely popular, gaining millions of views long before the walk along the Arbat.
