Hockey player Igor Makarov was born into a sports family on September 19, 1987 in Moscow. As a player, the father of hockey player Igor Makarov, Sergei, played as a defender and did this perfectly, and his son became a great striker. Having started playing hockey since childhood, Igor continued his career at the age of 17 at a higher level - the young athlete became a player for Krylia Sovetov and already in his debut match in 2005 he scored a goal for his club. Career
Igor Makarov entered professional ice at the age of 17 (2005). It was the game “Wings of the Soviets” - “Torpedo”. And in his first match, the striker scored a goal, and his team eventually won and reached the semi-finals of the Major League. Igor still remembers this event as the highlight of his sports career.
After spending one season at Krylya Sovetov, Igor Makarov moved to the St. Petersburg club SKA. Although at that time many teams were already interested in the young striker. Among the possible transfer options were Kazan Ak Bars and Cherepovets Severstal, but they failed to lure Makarov to their side.
After spending three years in SKA (2006-2009), Makarov left for America to defend the colors of the Rockford Ice Hogs club. But he did not stay there long and returned to Russia - again to SKA, where he played for three more seasons. And at the beginning of 2014, Makarov moved from Moscow and signed a contract with the capital CSKA. In total, Igor Makarov already has nearly 400 games in his professional career and about 70 goals scored.

Of course, “Wings of the Soviets” were incredibly dear to both the player himself and his entire family, given the history of Igor’s grandfather and father playing for Samara, however, with “Wings” Igor could not play in the KHL and therefore made this decision for himself.
At the time of acclimatization in the new team, hockey player Igor Makarov was not very comfortable, especially in games with his native Samara club, in which he spent a lot of time: from the age of 5. However, this was a period of growing up and, in addition to simply enjoying the game, Igor also needed to show results, which he began to do, especially after he became friends with his new teammates and, having established interaction with them, he played got better and better.
After this season, the Chicago Blackhawks team selects Makarov in the draft in the National Hockey League, in entry draft number 44. And after some time, Igor is recognized as one of the most active forwards of the St. Petersburg SKA, and his list already includes 4 scored goals.
Subsequently, other well-known teams tried to intercept the promising young man, but Makarov, having made a choice in favor of SKA, played for the club faithfully and never regretted it. Valery Khlebnikov and Anton Polishchuk became his friends on and off the field.
