The talented director Svetlana Maslyakova is better known as the wife of Alexander Maslyakov, although she has no less achievements than her husband. She did a lot for the development of journalism and cinema, and also contributed to the development of KVN. The woman’s low popularity is due to her rare appearance on television, as in her youth, today she also prefers to work behind the scenes.
Childhood and youth
Svetlana’s biography began on October 11, 1947 in Moscow; she is Russian by nationality. At that time, the country was just recovering from the Great Patriotic War, so most Soviet families lived in poverty. This probably strengthened the girl’s character, making her kind, understanding and sympathetic. Svetlana studied at a Moscow school, and after graduating, she got a job at the Youth Reaction of Central Television. At first, she held the position of assistant director, mastered the basics of this complex profession, and approached any assignments responsibly.

Taisiya, when did it become clear in principle that there would be a children’s KVN and that you would be its host?
When I was 5 years old, I was at the KVN children's festival in Anapa. I remember that I really liked children's humor. A year ago I became the host of the KVN television game. So, one might say, children's KVN has always existed.
Are you involved in the project only as a presenter or are you also involved in writing jokes?
I'm just the presenter. Coming up with and editing material is another job, and a very difficult one at that.
Have you ever wanted to change roles with the participants and go on stage as an actress?
I don’t know how about changing... But I already had acting experience on the KVN stage. This happened last year - I participated in the “Homework” stage of the major league team Team of State University of Ukraine and MISiS. It was a parody of the show “The Voice. Children".

It's probably just excitement. Happens to everyone. By the way, how do you deal with it?
I get very worried before every broadcast. But in fact, it helps me a lot that I have been studying in the “Fidgets” group since I was three years old. In the studio we are taught musical literacy, choreography, acting, stage speech, and the ability to behave in front of a large number of people. In “Fidgets”, as a presenter, I hosted many concert programs, including for Channel One. Therefore, we can say that I got used to the stage.

To be honest, such thoughts never even occurred to me. I like to sing, but not enough to do it all the time.
But now you are a TV presenter and have probably encountered what children who continue the work of their parents face. Are comparisons scary to you?
It’s still difficult to compare me with my dad or grandfather - I’m still a child! Of course, they are much more experienced, they broadcast better than me, and feel more free. But everything is ahead of me!

I often ask my grandfather when the excitement will pass. And he tells me to be patient, because everything comes with experience. In general, my loved ones are always very supportive. They know how to find the right words to make me feel confident and strong. Thank them very much for this!
Many children of famous people say that it is difficult for them to find friends: they say they are friends with them only because of their star name. Do you have real friends?
Of course, I have close friends. And I really love spending time with them. Although due to studies and extracurricular activities there is not much time left. I am an excellent student, I love drawing, skating, cycling, and I love gymnastics.

Svetlana’s acquaintance with Alexander Maslyakov, the eldest, happened on television, and therefore her work brought her not only an excellent career, but also an organized personal life. Maslyakova is responsible not only in her work, building relationships with her husband, the woman tried to support him in everything. In 1971, Angelina Marmeladova became Maslyakov Jr.’s wife; she also received her education at MGIMO, became a candidate of economic sciences, worked as a journalist and publicist, and director of the KVN House. In 2006, the couple had a daughter, Taisiya, the first granddaughter of the Maslyakov Sr. couple.
She also chose a creative path, performs in the group “Fidgets”, and in 2020 she became the host of children’s KVN.
