Income of Alexander Revva and his alter ego – Arthur Pirozhkov

Biography

Family

Sasha was born in the Ukrainian regional center - Donetsk on September 10, 1974.

His father, Vladimir Nikolaevich, was a mathematician by profession, a candidate of technical sciences, an employee of the Donetsk Physics and Technology Academy of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, his mother, Lyubov Nikolaevna, worked as the artistic director of a miners’ choir, being by nature a creative person who is not indifferent to art. Among other things, she was also involved in organizing concerts, having previously worked with Valery Meladze, unknown to the general public at that time. Revva’s mother is also notable for her magnetic abilities - thanks to this, she could easily hold small metal objects on her chest, for example, table forks and spoons, and sometimes even a whole frying pan.

The showman's father left the family when he and his twin sister Natalya were only a few months old, and therefore all the worries about their further upbringing fell on the shoulders of their mother and grandmother.

When Alexander was six years old, his mother remarried Oleg Racheev, who worked at a local metallurgical plant.

Grandmother and grandfather

As a child, Sasha also called his grandmother mom, who, in turn, called him Shura (and his relatives and close friends call him that only now).

Also noteworthy is the fate of the artist’s maternal grandfather, a very extraordinary man who lost his sight during the war, but later became a virtuoso accordion player and successfully taught at the Donetsk Conservatory. In addition, the comedian's grandfather was included in the Guinness Book of Records for his talent for multiplying six-digit numbers in his head within a few moments.

Education and first job

After graduating from school, the future showman graduated with honors from the Technical School of Industrial Automation, after which he studied to become a manager at the Donetsk State University of Management. His first job was as an electrician at a mine. After working in this position for some time, Alexander got a job at Donetsk radio.

The actor’s path to a long-awaited dream and the development of his fortune

Revva grew up in Donetsk, graduated from a technical university and at first worked at a mine as an electrician (approximate salary by modern standards is 40,000-80,000 rubles). He learned acting on his own, and his debut was participating in the KVN television show in 1995. After that, his life began to improve for the better. Revva was almost immediately accepted into the Burnt by the Sun team in 2000, where he became friends with Mikhail Galustyan. They performed together with their first joint sketch, which became the starting point in Revva’s career.

In the video you can see what Revva was like before he became famous:

Career

Carier start

Today, Revva is a well-known media personality who has successfully demonstrated herself in several creative professions. He starred in a whole list of films, hosted programs on leading television channels, successfully performed in a huge number of humorous miniatures he invented and sang songs under the name Arthur Pirozhkov.

It all started during his university years, when in 1995 Alexander began playing for the KVN team of his university. Five years later, he joined what soon became one of the most popular teams in the league - the team from Sochi “Burnt by the Sun”. By this time, Revva had already realized that he liked to joke, and most importantly, he really began to succeed at it.

In those same years, the artist gave birth to an original stage image, which he later successfully embodied on the stage of the Comedy Club - the “intelligent scoundrel” Alexander “A” Revva.

Debut in KVN

Revva’s debut number in KVN was “Debut of a Freshman,” where he sang E. Williams’ song “Feelings” with his own revised lyrics. Initially, it was not Alexander himself who was supposed to perform this number, but another member of the team, who, unlike him, was not embarrassed to go on stage. But shortly before the premiere of the act, this man fell ill, and Revva had to perform in his place.

Despite the novice artist’s voice trembling with excitement, or perhaps because of it, the audience greeted the performance very well. Having finished the performance and hearing an explosion of laughter and applause, Sasha experienced an indescribable and magical feeling, thanks to which he killed two birds with one stone: firstly, he got rid of excessive shyness, and secondly, he earned his first creative fee - 350 rubles.

"Burnt by the Sun"

According to the artist, he got into the KVN team “Burnt by the Sun” by chance. Alexander urgently needed to come to St. Petersburg to discuss issues of his cooperation with one of the St. Petersburg radio stations, and on the way he wanted to visit his parents, who had recently moved to live in Sochi.

It was then that Revva met the cheerful and resourceful KV team members from the “Burnt by the Sun” team, already well-known in the club, to whom he wanted to sell several of his sketches, since he really needed money. As a result, he failed to earn money for the comedic humorous numbers, but Revva was invited to the team, and soon he became known far beyond the borders of Donetsk.

Together with the Sochi team, Alexander won the KVN major league in 2003. And one of the most memorable numbers of their team, according to the majority of its fans and just spectators, was shown as part of the KVN Summer Cup 2005 and was called “I’m Lost,” where Revva’s partner The sketch was directed by Mikhail Galustyan. This number is rightfully considered a Kavehan classic, which has long been quoted and given rise to many parodies and imitations.

Resident Comedy Club

In 2006, the artist was invited to a not very well-known at that time, but quite promising and innovative project - Comedy Club, created mainly by the KVN team “New Armenians” and its captain, Garik Martirosyan. Subsequently, the show quickly gained popularity, simultaneously bringing widespread fame to its participants.

Initially, at Comedy, Revva performed in tandem with one of its residents, doing joint numbers with Garik Kharlamov, Timur Batrutdinov, Gavriil Gordeev and some other artists, and only then began performing independently, alone composing and showing the public his own miniatures.

One of his most striking performances was a sketch he made together with Kharlamov about the grandmother of a provincial actor. In this sketch, Alexander transforms into an elderly, hard of hearing and not particularly smart old woman, struggling to understand who is calling her and why, and for what they want to offer her grandson a huge fee. Another famous miniature by Revva, which has become very popular in Comedy, is his sketch with Timur Batrutdinov “Grandmother-healer Shura and her patient Egorka.”

Image of Arthur Pirozhkov

In 2009, without stopping his collaboration with Comedy, Alexander, together with Andrei Rozhkov, formerly known for his performances for the KVN team “Ural Dumplings,” became the latter’s co-host on the TV show “You’re Funny!”, aired on the NTV channel.

As part of this television project, anyone could demonstrate to the public their humorous abilities or lack thereof. The project started well, and it seemed that audience interest in such a show would only grow with each release, but everything went exactly the opposite. Instead of popularity, the show was hit with a barrage of criticism, moreover, after the first episodes, and this criticism came from both the public and experts.

The main problems of the program were the huge amount of vulgar humor that had become quite boring by 2009 and frankly weak jokes from the participants. As a result, the show was canceled after the release of its debut and final season.

But in this story we are interested in something else - throughout all the episodes of the project, Revva remained in the image of Arthur Pirozhkov, on whose behalf he hosted the show. And we should dwell on this character in more detail, since he is a vivid example of how an invented stage image could outshine its own creator.

This image came to his mind when visiting one of the capital’s gyms, where Revva managed to see plenty of young people talking to each other only about their own muscles. When thinking through the image of Pirozhkov, Alexander started from an extremely simple thought: on the modern stage there is clearly a lack of a hero, or rather, a pseudo-hero of a similar format. According to him, Pirozhkov is a parody of a man who is overly in love with himself and fixated on this, whose life has turned into continuous narcissism. Naturally, these traits are vividly reflected in the behavior and habits of his character, based only on extreme narcissism and narcissism.

The additional comedy of the situation lies in the fact that with his relatively short height (1.76 m) and the absence of huge muscles, Alexander skillfully transforms himself on stage into an overly self-confident jock. Pirozhkov's performances and video clips quickly became popular, under this name the artist more than once gathered huge halls and even released a number of musical singles.

Gradually, Arthur Pirozhkov replaced another very successful image of Revva, the famous “grandmother,” as he became not only many times more successful from a commercial point of view, but also much more recognizable and quoted. Alexander staged a whole series of shows, consisting only of songs by Arthur Pirozhkov, which invariably sold out. The artist has repeatedly admitted that a number of his fans no longer perceive him as Alexander Revva, but as Arthur Pirozhkov. As a result, the comedian decided to focus entirely on the image of Pirozhkov, deciding to freeze the “grandmother” project for the time being.

TV career

In the spring of 2013, the artist participated in the Channel One project “One to One!”, performing on this show as a member of the jury, and from the fall of 2013 to the beginning of 2014 he was the host of the “Repeat!” program. on the same TV channel. Since 2014, Alexander has been producing the animated series “Kolobanga”, created in the Orenburg region (its creators live in Orsk).

The premiere of “Kolobangi” took place in the fall of 2020 on the STS channel. At the end of 2020, Alexander hosted a special episode from Budapest of the popular travel TV show “Heads and Tails,” and on September 7, 2020, he and Nikolai Baskov took part in the “League of Bad Jokes.”

Film actor and producer

In 2008, Revva tried his hand as an actor for the first time - he got the role of a teacher in an episode of the film magazine for children “Yeralash”. In 2011, he played a magician in the comic television series He People dedicated to psychics.

In addition to the acting experience he acquired while working on the series, Alexander tried his hand at producing films. Since 2012, he began to regularly appear on the big screen, playing in the television series “Zaitsev+1” and several full-length films, including the films “Rzhevsky against Napoleon” and “Odnoklassniki.ru”.

Particularly noteworthy for him was the film “The Understudy” in 2012, where the showman had to play three characters at once, very similar in appearance - a pop singer, a television celebrity and an eccentric masseur. In addition, Revva acted as one of the producers of this film, and his filming partners were Dmitry Khrustalev and Christina Asmus.

The release of the film was marked by a scandal associated with a lawsuit against the creators of the film. The trial against them was started by Stas Mikhailov, from whom one of the main characters of “The Understudy”, singer Mikhail Stasov, was largely copied. Mikhailov did not like this use of his image in films, and even without prior agreement with him and obtaining appropriate permission from him.

In 2014, Revva’s filmography was replenished with another comedy feature film, “Easy to Know,” in which he was to play only a small role in the episode. Despite the fact that Alexander’s character appears in the frame only for a couple of minutes, the image he created was remembered and liked by most viewers, causing them mostly positive emotions regarding the comedian’s acting.

Participation in dubbing of animated films

The showman is a longtime fan of animated films; he has repeatedly worked as a dubbing actor, where he has developed his own style - especially when voicing cunning and evil characters, not without both a share of cunning and a certain charm.

Characters from a number of animated films speak in his voice: “Horton”, “Monsters vs. Aliens”, “Gnomeo and Juliet”, etc. The artist does not stop there - in 2017 he took part in the voice acting of one of the main characters in the cartoon “ The Lego Movie: Batman."

New film projects

Also in 2020, the film “Granny of Easy Virtue” with Alexander in the title role appeared at the box office. In this film, he played an adventurer trying to hide from dangerous criminals in a nursing home, for which he needed to pretend to be an old woman. The film starred the singer Glyuk'oZa, although Revva initially opposed her participation in the film, but then changed his mind, noting the efforts of the artist, the result of which was the image of her heroine quite professionally and sincerely embodied on the screen.

In addition to the role he played, Alexander was noted in this film as a producer and co-writer of the script. According to him, the script for the film was initially written to suit his type and characteristics, which is very common among Western screenwriters, whose experience the creators of the film took advantage of. Work on the script lasted for three years. In addition to the script, Revva highly praised the merits of the production director, Marius Weisberg, who previously directed the film “Love in the City.” He also noted that he is not afraid of comparisons of his film with other films of similar themes, for example, with the film “Hello, I am your aunt,” since such comparisons still cannot be avoided.

In addition to “Granny of Easy Virtue,” in 2020 another film with Revva, “Yana + Yanko,” was released, and in 2020, the comedy “Zomboyashchik” appeared in theaters, in which, in addition to Alexander, other Comedy Club residents also starred, as well as a number of third-party popular artists. The film is a set of humorous sketches that make fun of modern TV and are presented in a wide range of genres - from science fiction to art house.

Music

Revva began his musical career, and continues to this day, under the name Arthur Pirozhkov, already known to his fans. In 2020, the artist released his debut music album, “Love,” and videos were subsequently shot for a number of songs on this album. Alexander often invites famous singers to film his music videos; Vera Brezhneva (“Luna”), Timati, Quest Pistols (“Revolution”) took part in their creation, and the Italian actress Ornella Muti agreed to appear in the video for the song “Like Celentano” .

Now Alexander’s videography includes more than a dozen clips, and some videos should be discussed in a little more detail. In 2020, a video for the song “Chika” was filmed and presented to the public. Director Alexey Golubev, an experienced video director who managed to work with Kristina Orbakaite, Polina Gagarina, Valeria and other famous performers, was responsible for the production of the video. The video quickly became popular, gaining more than 100 million views on YouTube.

At the beginning of 2020, another music video from Arthur Pirozhkov appeared online, filmed for the song “My Goddess” together with rapper DONI. This time, the famous video director from Moscow, Sergei Gray, who had already worked with Revva in the past, was responsible for directing the video. Most of the material was filmed in the EXTRA LOUNGE restaurant, located in the Korston Hotel and famous for its views of the city. The girl the main characters liked in the video was played by the artist Tatyana Shishlakova, unknown to the general public; towards the end of the video she is joined by her twin sister, Olga.

Soon, the artist presented another music video called “Hooked,” the release of which was timed for March 8. The script for the video was a revised fairy tale about Cinderella, in which the prince, played by Revva, is looking for his betrothed through a lost glass slipper, and the search itself is associated with a whole list of comical moments.

The video was well received by the artist’s fans, gaining about 250 on Alexander’s YouTube channel in just 24 hours and receiving approximately 12,000 likes and two hundred dislikes. Viewers noted the creativity and light, humorous atmosphere of the video, although they recognized some borrowings in ideas taken by the creators of the video from videos of other artists.

Television work and music

Thanks to KVN, Revva made many useful contacts. In 2006, he happily agreed to take part in a new television project of his colleagues. Together with Pavel Volya, Timur Batrutdinov and Garik Kharlamov, Alexander began performing in the Comedy Club show. At first they appeared on stage together in miniatures, but later the comedian got the opportunity to perform solo.

In 2007, the artist was the host of the “Happy Birthday” project, and was also on the jury of the “You are a Superstar” competition. In 2009, Sasha began hosting the program “You're Funny!” together with another native of KVN, Andrei Rozhkov. The show only lasted a year because it had too much vulgar humor. But it was there that the character Arthur Pirozhkov once again appeared.

In 2010, Alexander’s first video, entitled “Paradise,” was released. Later he released several more hits, in 2020 all of them were included in the album “Love”. Other stars often appeared in the singer's videos. Among them are the Quest Pistols group, Vera Brezhneva, Ekaterina Varnava and Timati.

Personal life

Angelica

Alexander got married in April 2007, and he dated his chosen one, Angelica, for three years. The young people met in 2004 at one of the Sochi discos. On the first evening of their acquaintance, the artist decided to impress the girl he liked, for which purpose, using all his money, he hired a limousine standing near the club to take her home in comfort.

Soon Angelica went to her parents in Krasnodar, but Alexander continued to call her regularly. Quite quickly, he met his beloved’s parents, after which he introduced the girl to his family, but the couple decided not to rush into the wedding, formalizing their relationship only after the news of Angelica’s pregnancy. Recently, Angelica and Alexander launched a joint business project focused on family leisure.

The couple has two daughters - Alice (born in 2007) and Amelie (born in 2013). Initially, the artist planned to name his eldest daughter Lucia, seeing this as an original play on words - Revva Lucia, but his wife dissuaded him from this idea. Alexander’s youngest daughter, Amelie, appeared more than once in videos shot by her father, and the most famous of them, about a bunny who ate all the candy, received more than 100,000 views on the Internet. Revva has repeatedly said that children are his main incentive in work and creativity.

Professional

After his first appearance on the professional stage of the KVN major league, Alexander realized that this was where he belonged. He signed a contract with the team and quit his job. In just a few months he became super popular. Many still call him by the name of the stage hero - Arthur Pirozhkov.

In 2006, as one of the brightest KVN stars, he was invited to the Comedy Club television project, which was still gaining momentum. Realizing that the path to real success lies through television, he immediately agrees and since then has become one of the permanent residents of the club. At the same time, he writes and sells new jokes, and also creates solo acts.

There is a place in an artist’s life for other projects. In 2009, he created his own comedy program, which, however, was quickly closed. The actor and his co-star went overboard with vulgar jokes, which displeased not only critics, but even viewers.

Revva also tried to realize his musical talent. In 2015, his debut solo disc with his songs was released, but it also did not have much success. By the way, the artist also has his own restaurant on Tverskaya. Nevertheless, for the majority of viewers he was and remains a KVN star, a bright and talented comedian, a fireworks man who can charge you with a great mood for a long time.

Personal life of Arthur Pirozhkov

Alexander's wife was a girl who had nothing to do with show business. He met her in Sochi during a regular tour with KVN. Trying to gain favor, he made a beautiful gesture - he hired a limousine in which he took her home. But nevertheless, the relationship did not develop immediately, and the couple got married only three years later.

Soon their son was born, but the happy parents did not stop there. Now the family has three children: a boy and two girls, the youngest of whom was born in 2013.

With wife and daughter

The couple is considered one of the strongest and happiest in Russian show business, and Sasha is seriously thinking about having another child.

Other facts

Unexpected meeting with father

After his parents’ divorce, Alexander’s own father appeared in his life only once, and this happened under rather curious, but at the same time dramatic circumstances for the teenager.

At the age of 14, Revva fell in love with a girl named Elena, whom he somehow decided to visit. However, upon entering his beloved’s apartment, to his great surprise, he met his own father there. As it turned out, he had long since married Elena’s mother. Having told about this incident at home, Alexander received a scolding from his mother, who after the scandal forbade her son to communicate with Elena. Alexander's father calls this story a myth.

About vulgarity in creativity

When Revva was a childless bachelor, he often allowed himself vulgar jokes, ambiguous numbers, and profanity on stage. But having started a family and becoming a father, the artist began to take a more demanding approach to creating his sketches, inevitably thinking about the question - how would his children react to such creativity? Won't they imitate him and show such performances to their peers?

However, he is not going to end up with a certain amount of permitted self-indulgence devoid of vulgarity in his speeches.

I was extremely shy in my childhood

Alexander’s family loved to joke and laugh, but he himself grew up as a rather uptight, extremely modest and shy child. According to the showman’s recollections, as a child he was embarrassed to even read a poem to Santa Claus. He managed to overcome his tightness and shyness only in KVN, initially playing in the team of his university - the Academy of Management, and then performing in “Burnt by the Sun”.

Is a self-taught actor

Revva does not have a professional acting education, but he was quite successful in mastering acting skills on his own, which allowed Alexander to cope with his responsibilities on the set quite confidently, and over time he even began to advise other, less experienced artists.

In addition to directly acquiring acting practice on set, the showman did not refuse to obtain theoretical acting knowledge, having attended a large number of master classes conducted by both Russian and foreign teachers. For example, Revva is familiar first-hand with the author’s technique of Ivana Chabak, a famous American teacher who teaches acting.

Runs a restaurant business

The comedian is attracted not only by music, TV shows and cinema; for some time he also decided to go into business - in the winter of 2010, together with restaurateur Dmitry Orlinsky, the artist opened the Spaghetteria restaurant, located in a two-story Moscow mansion not far from Tverskaya Street. And in 2020, he announced another business project related to family vacations. Alexander is going to implement his plans together with his wife.
