Personal life

Like any other public person, lawyer Sergei Zhorin more than once became the hero of gossip columns. Journalists began to pay special attention to the man after his wife’s loud statements. Katya Gordon became the third wife of a lawyer. Before this marriage, she was already quite a famous person, largely thanks to the scandal that occurred live on Mayak radio. On that ill-fated day, the ex-wife of Alexander Gordon got into a serious fight with socialite Ksenia Sobchak. The result of this conflict was Katya's dismissal. Once again, her name appeared in the press two months after her wedding with Sergei Zhorin.

The girl in paint told reporters about how her husband brutally beat her. She filed for divorce, and soon the couple began to sort things out on social networks in front of millions of Russians. However, a year later, Katya gave birth to a son, Daniel, from Zhorin. And a year later they got married again. History repeated itself - a month later the girl again talks about the beating and another divorce occurs. Since then, Katya Gordon and Sergei Zhorin regularly attended court hearings where the issue of alimony was decided.

Failed brides and the fifth marriage

Only a few days passed after the divorce, and the press was already savoring the details of the affair between lawyer Sergei Zhorin and Julia Wang. The extravagant winner of the “Battle of Psychics” was delicately silent, and the lawyer himself assured everyone that there were only friendly relations between him and Lucifer’s daughter. Next in line was a colleague named Natalya. This novel was not of interest to fans of the charming Sergei, rumors about him quickly died down.

The marriage proposal to Ekaterina Guseva sounded like a bolt from the blue. The popular TV presenter received it live along with the ring in 2020. But the joy was short-lived - this marriage was not destined to take place. The reason for this was the multiple champion and pride of Russia - Natalya Rogozina. A tall, stately and incredibly beautiful girl bore the proud nickname “Miss Sledgehammer.” Fans of both sides smiled contentedly - Zhorin would not beat such a beauty. She herself will grind anyone you want into powder. A beautiful wedding took place in 2020, and since then the lawyer’s personal life has not been made public.

Loud processes

To be fair, it should be noted that Sergei Zhorin deals not only with the affairs of metropolitan media personalities. At one time, he freely helped the mother of model Yulia Loshagina to obtain a review of the case of her son-in-law’s innocence. As a result, the acquittal was overturned and the photographer received 10 years for the murder of his wife. This high-profile case was covered by the press and television. On one of the programs, Zhorin promised the victim’s mother to take control of the process and achieved a positive result.

His participation in the divorce proceedings of Nikita Dzhigurda and Marina Anisina caused a lot of noise. For several months there was a fierce information struggle between the scandalous showman and the lawyer. As a result, the couple never divorced, and Zhorin stopped representing the skater’s interests in court.

Among his clients are such popular personalities as Valeria, Bari Alibasov, Vitas, Lolita Milyavskaya, Ilya Reznik, Anatoly Kashpirovsky, Philip Kirkorov, Sofia Rotaru, Alexander Porokhovshchikov.

In 2020, a huge scandal erupted after a lawyer’s statement that the daughter of a Krasnodar judge had a wedding for $2 million. The public became interested in where the woman got so much money, and soon a real war began between the two colleagues. Zhorin was no stranger to such battles; he was ready to prove his case in court. Inspections followed, as a result of which Zhorin was accused of spreading false rumors. Now the lawyer is waiting for the decision of the Moscow Bar Association.

I have been a lawyer for more than 15 years, and my legal experience is approaching 20 years. That's why I don't have any specific specialization. About 10 years ago I created a bar association, which I called “Annexus”. It sounded aggressive; we then confidently captured the market, specializing in corporate law. Then I began to enter the media space and changed the name to “Zhorin and Partners.” For a long time, my activities lay in the civil law field, but, probably, the first high-profile case in criminal law was the case with Philip Kirkorov (meaning the case of the singer beating director Marina Yablokova , whose interests were represented in court by Zhorin. The parties eventually concluded settlement agreement, the terms of which were never disclosed - note by Sibdepo).

At different times, my board employed from 20 to 100 people. Now the core team is about 30 lawyers. There was a time when I wanted to absorb the entire legal market of the country, but very soon I realized that there were very few good specialists and I still relied on quality.

In our business, the team is very important. It is difficult to manage several things at the same time on your own. Sometimes up to 10 lawyers work on high-profile and voluminous cases. We are constantly building our staff by recruiting new people, training them and releasing them into autonomous sailing.

When I first entered the media space, of course, many venerable lawyers worked there. But over time, and accordingly with the increase in the number of cases won, I began to have more and more connections in Russian show business.

Now my bar association has successfully completed cases related to Max Fadeev, Joseph Prigozhin and Valeria, Yuri Antonov.

We became friends with some of my eminent clients. This also applies to the Prigozhins, for whom I have already become a family lawyer. We communicate well with Anatoly Kashpirovsky , who once contacted me and asked for help. I now consult with him on personal matters, since he is a psychotherapist.

A subculture like show business helps you quickly gain fame - either good or bad. When you win, people turn to you more and more often. Now I don’t even remember such cases that I would call losing.

I have little business in the regions. In Kuzbass, before Yuri Movshin, I did not collaborate with anyone. From other territories of the Russian Federation, I worked in Yekaterinburg and Krasnoyarsk.

It is clear that the bulk of the cases fall on Moscow and the Moscow region, but now things are also happening in Europe. These are, as a rule, two categories of cases - appeals against decisions of Russian courts or litigation between domestic companies and foreign ones. In such cases, there is a team of lawyers involved, who have the opportunity to appear in national courts. We control this process. Often cases relate to divorce proceedings when the property of one of the spouses is located in Europe.

I initially said that I agreed to this case because it is important for me that the investigation be objective and independent. I feel hatred and anger when they start to bully someone. I, too, periodically become the target of bullying, but this is biased and unproven. So, I and the injured party in this case (about an accident in the Kemerovo region with four dead women - Sibdepo) initially said that it is important to achieve a fair solution here. If Movshin is guilty, then let him be punished, but this will be decided in court, and not by persecution from the public.

I have very good impressions from Movshin. From his inner restraint and courage in this situation. The investigation into the case is not over, our team was able to turn the tide of events, slightly pause this race and imprison Movshin at any cost. And those violations that I announced earlier were heard and partially eliminated. I am convinced that there is absolutely no need to rush in a matter with four dead. Moreover, there is a video of the accident. And the most logical thing in this situation is to conduct a video technical objective examination to establish the necessary facts.

On July 19, a hearing was held in Novokuznetsk in the case of “Essipation of property on a large scale” and “Abuse of power.” These articles are charged against the former director of the Novokuznetsk Municipal Bank, Alexander Pavlov. This case interests me not even from the point of view of guilt or innocence at this stage, but from the point of view of choosing a preventive measure for Pavlov. On July 19, the court considered the investigation’s request to extend the detention of the ex-head of the NMB (from 2014 to March 2016, Pavlov was under recognizance not to leave the place—approx. Sibdepo), and I submitted my objection. The investigator indicated as a reason for leaving Pavlov in custody that his father had disappeared, which means my client could do the same too. But we are no longer in Stalinist times, so why in this case should the son be so responsible for his father? As a result, there is an indication in the case that Pavlov remains in custody because his father visited Finland 1.5 years ago. This motivation for leaving a person in a pre-trial detention center is legal nonsense not only in our country, but also in world practice.

Pavlov's case is very voluminous - 70 volumes. It is connected with an economic crime, so now I am working closely in Novokuznetsk - studying the materials of the criminal case. But what is important to me is that Pavlov may simply not live to see the trial. He has serious health problems.

80% of my working time is spent defending Eric Davidich (a well-known Russian blogger has been in a pre-trial detention center for six months - Sibdepo note). I have been leading this case together with a dozen fellow lawyers from the first days of his arrest. At first, we spent a long time resolving everyday issues related to his detention, there was severe pressure on the delivery of medicines, on food, on the conditions of visits. And now new cases are being brought against Eric. If we lived in America now, then he would face 20 life sentences according to the current situation.

During the period of my defense of Eric, attempts were made repeatedly to initiate criminal proceedings against me. But now the heavy artillery has come into play: the Ministry of Justice has submitted a proposal to the Moscow Bar Association to terminate my status as a lawyer. The meeting will take place on July 27. The reason is that I allegedly violated the code of professional ethics. If the disciplinary commission satisfies this submission, then I will be deprived of my status and I will have to appeal this decision to higher authorities.

Yes, I can provide my services for free. This happens in two cases. Firstly, I may not take money from my friends. But, it is clear that I have high expenses and I cannot work like this all the time, I need to feed my family. But, secondly, I can defend a person who really cannot pay, and besides me, few people can help him.

It’s difficult for me to say about the region, but I definitely already understood that Kemerovo and Novokuznetsk are radically different from each other. Your girls are beautiful, that's for sure. I managed to see more of Kemerovo, was on the Embankment, in several restaurants. And in Novokuznetsk they advised me to walk less. But I went to the cinema to see two films. True, there was no one in the hall except me.

For me, rest is sports, a change of scenery, communication with friends. If I'm in Moscow, I can go to the theater, cinema, or concert. But for the most part, I am invited to various events by friends - actors, directors. If it weren't for them, I would rather sleep at home.

When a window in the schedule appears, I can take a ticket and go abroad. There, too, I’m always on the move—I don’t sit in one place for more than two or three days.
