Biography
In 2007, Alexey Demidov graduated from the Nizhny Novgorod Theater School named after Evgeniy Evstigneev. As his graduation work, the aspiring actor played the main role in the comedy “The Marriage of Figaro” at the “Your Chance” festival. In the same year, the young man entered the St. Petersburg State Academy of Theater Arts (SPBGATI) on the course of Sergei Cherkassky, but after studying for six months, he left of his own free will.
Since 2008, Demidov has been a member of the troupe of the famous Taganka Actors' Theater.
Recently, the artist has focused on his film career, and also tried himself in a completely different role - he hosted the Sunday program “A Glass of Milk” at the Russian News Service radio station.

The first film with the participation of Alexei Demidov was the melodramatic series “Redhead”. The directors offered him the role of the soft, sincere and kind Gosha, who has a keen sense of justice. The artist attracted attention thanks to his filming in the multi-part film “The Diary of Doctor Zaitseva,” where he appeared in the first two seasons.
You also can’t ignore the crime drama “Stranger Among Our Own.” Despite the similar name, this film is not a remake of the legendary Soviet film in the full sense of the word. Here Demidov realized his talent as a dramatic actor, playing Sergei Nechaev, who took the blame of another person.

"Torgsin"
One of Alexey’s last works was in Dmitry Petrun’s drama “Torgsin”. Plot: Moscow, 1934. This is a time of great construction and great hopes. The Dneproges, Uralmash, Magnitka, Chelyabinsk Tractor, Moscow and Gorky Automobile Plants are built almost by hand. There is an urgent need to purchase equipment abroad, but where can we get gold and currency for industrialization?
For these purposes, Torgsins—“shops for trading with foreigners”—are operating throughout the country—oases of prosperity and abundance that Soviet people have not seen since pre-revolutionary times.
In exchange for gold, precious stones, antiques or currency, wealthy Soviet citizens can buy gourmet foods and hard-to-find imported goods here. The poor come for candy and cakes for the holiday. And the “disenfranchised”, classified as the bourgeois class and deprived of food cards, bring their last rings and earrings to Torgsin so as not to die of hunger.
Lida Sokolskaya (Alexandra Bortich) is a girl with an excellent command of several foreign languages. Together with her brother Alexey (Aleksey Demidov), a specialist in precious stones and an employee of the Academy of Sciences, she moves from Leningrad to Moscow.
During the move, they find an old emerald pendant in their deceased father's belongings. Lida hopes to find out the history of this pendant, so she goes with it to Torgsin.
