Natalya Fateeva is one of the most beautiful actresses of Soviet theater and cinema, she lived a bright, eventful life. In her creative biography there were few star roles, which did not prevent the actress from winning the love of the audience. Fateeva’s husbands were the most famous men in the country, but she never found personal happiness.
Natalya Fateeva was born on December 23, 1934 in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov in the family of a military man, Nikolai Demyanovich Fateev, and Ekaterina Vasilievna , who worked as the director of a fashion studio. The girl inherited her creative abilities from her father, who was distinguished by his penchant for acting and had a good voice and hearing. Since childhood, Natasha was very purposeful - she studied music and vocals, but she also found time to play sports, and she took first place in school competitions (swimming and running).

After graduating from school in 1952, the girl did not think twice about where she would go - only to the Kharkov Theater Institute . She passed the exams on the first try and became one of the best students - she even received a personal scholarship. Thanks to her talent and bright beauty, Natasha was invited to work as an announcer on local television. Everything in her life turned out very well, but envious people always hide next to successful people... Some unpleasant story happened, because of which the girl was expelled from the institute.

Fateeva leaves for Moscow and immediately enters VGIK on the course of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova , which she graduates in 1958. Already in her 3rd year, she made her film debut in the small role of Katya in the adventure film “Captain of the Old Turtle” (1956). This would be followed by several more minor works, in such films as “There’s a Guy” (1956), “Incident at Mine Eight” (1957), etc. They will not affect Natalya’s career in any way, but on the set of “An Incident at the Mine” she will begin an affair with director Vladimir Basov , who will later become her husband.

Fateeva had great hopes for the film “Battle on the Way” (1961), where she was invited to play the main role of engineer Tina by director Zakhar Agranenko (the other two main roles were played by the famous Mikhail Ulyanov and Mikhail Nazvanov) . But he died during filming and the management of the film studio suggested that her husband Vladimir Basov finish the film. They were just getting divorced at the time - not the most favorable moment for fruitful cooperation. In addition, Furtseva herself took charge of the film—the next party congress was approaching. As a result, little remained of Tina’s role: the ideological plan supplanted the heroine’s personality.

Finally, in 1962, the actress got her first starring role as Zoya in the comedy “Three Plus Two” directed by Genrikh Oganesyan . This film was the beginning of a brilliant career for other leading actors - Andrei Mironov , Natalia Kustinskaya and Evgeny Zharikov . On the set, Fateeva became close to Andrei Mironov, who helped her survive a difficult divorce from Basov. Their romance could have ended with a new marriage for Natalya, but Maria Mironova, Andrei’s mother, did not accept the bride (the mother’s opinion was always of great importance to the actor). They broke up. The film was released in 1963 and won the hearts of Soviet viewers.

There will be many more successful works in Natalia’s filmography, only a few of which can compare in popularity with “Three Plus Two”. This, for example, is the musical melodrama “Songs of the Sea ,” a joint production of Soviet-Romanian filmmakers (1970), where Fateeva starred in the leading role of a music reviewer along with the popular Romanian singer Dan Spataru . Filming took place in Romania (as usual, there was a love story on the set: the actress began an affair with Dan).

Among the minor works that were loved by the audience, one can note the roles of Lyudmila in “Gentlemen of Fortune” , Irina Sobolevskaya from “The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed” , and the leader’s wife in “The Man from the Boulevard des Capuchins” . Of course, the actress could have had more star roles, but Fateeva had enough self-respect not to achieve them at any cost (and especially not to seek the patronage of high-ranking officials). In addition, despising the political structure of her country in her heart, the actress refused to join the party, which at that time could have helped her in her career. Therefore, she played the roles that were offered to her, and when there was a lull, she went with concerts throughout the Soviet Union.

Fateeva's theatrical activity was less intense - for about 3 years she played on the stage of the Theater. Ermolova, and since 1961 she moved to the Theater-Studio of Film Actors.
In the 90s, she was also not idle, but she spoke of the films of that time as “waste paper.” Natalya Nikolaevna’s last work in cinema was the role of Nadezhda in the film “Leaves Flying in the Wind” (2013) directed by Valery Kharchenko. The film won many awards, and Fateeva received the Nika Award for Best Supporting Actress. In my opinion, a worthy farewell to cinema.

Childhood and youth
Natalya was born on December 23, 1934 in Kharkov. His father was a military man, his mother headed a fashion studio. At the same time, family members showed musicality: Nikolai Demyanovich Fateev could easily pick out the melody he liked on the piano, and Natalya’s aunts sang in the church choir.

Nature also endowed the star with a good voice and hearing. The girl loved going to the opera house and dreamed of performing on stage. Relatives were skeptical about their daughter’s hobby: she was constantly reminded that her studies should come first.
The parents sent the girl to a music school. My father traded the piano for boots. It didn’t work out with music - the girl switched to sports, did athletics and dreamed of the stage.
Gennady Fateev - singer of his native land
Today (May 8) the famous Stavropol poet Gennady Fateev, my father, would have turned 75 years old... In the last years of his life, he was acutely worried about the fact that he did not find himself in the new, cynical market world, and was unable to raise money for publication anthologies of his works... And then there was a serious, fatal illness. My mother and I consoled him as best we could. “Nothing,” he answered, “I didn’t live my life in vain. I have my creativity, my readers, people close to me...” Gennady Fateev

He was often asked the question: “How do you manage to write like that? The style is simple, but the thoughts are deep and at the same time understandable to everyone.” He smiled back: “I don’t do anything in life on purpose. Of course, you need to know the rules of versification so that you don’t feel ashamed in front of people. And everything else needs to be felt, you just need to live it.”
“The poet’s poetic thought is lively, imaginative, critical. He is a mature singer of his native land, a singer of simple, everyday life, without excessive pathos...”, critics wrote about Gennady Fateev. The theme of his small homeland in his work was organically replaced by historical paintings from the history of the North Caucasus and from the life of great creators: Pushkin, Lermontov, Kosta Khetagurov... And always with soul, always simply and sincerely. Maybe that’s why his works are close to many people?
He glorified our fellow countrymen in his work and raised problems that worried them. Is this why people listened so fascinated to his speeches in libraries, schools, hospitals, and field camps?..
Dad traveled around the region a lot. He took me with him on some creative business trips. Sometimes a car would stop and we would go out to buy something at the village store. Suddenly a woman selling pies hurries towards us: “Thank you, Semenych, you helped us a lot back then.” And then follows a story that he himself may have already forgotten about.
And now he is already talking with people - about what makes them happy and sad, how they live, what’s new in the village. Then poems appeared: “Acacias are blooming in Kayasul”, “Kostantinovsky porches”, “Khutor Maki”, “Praskovea”, “Doves cast a spell over Arzgir”, “Mineral Waters”... Teachers of one of the Stavropol schools recently told me: “We were very happy , when your father’s work was included in the school curriculum. Thanks to him, we simultaneously solve several problems: children get acquainted with good poetry, receive a lesson in moral education, and also learn a lot of new things from the history and geography of Stavropol.”
Many people turned to him for help. Neighbors, for example, generally immediately ran to us if, say, the water went out: “Gennady Semenovich, what happened? Intercede for us, call the housing office.” He gave up everything and, despite my mother’s and my indignation, solved this problem.
Of course, he could also be mistaken about something, not accept something, argue about something. But he was a very kind person. He forgave quickly and did not remember insults.
Two years ago, when a memorial plaque was unveiled on our house, one of the regional officials said: “Gennady Semenovich was a man who burned himself all his life in search of the right line, a kind word, so that we could all become warmer, brighter... His contribution with time will be correctly understood and appreciated. And what was not given during life will be compensated...” I don't quite agree with the last phrase. He was understood and accepted by those for whose sake he lived and worked. And this cannot be measured either by the amount of money for magnificent anniversaries, or by the patronage of officials, or, as a result, by investments in the publication of multi-volume works. This is measured by something else - by what you need to feel and understand. Gennady Fateev lived a worthy human and creative life. And those for whom he created know, remember and love him.
Separately, I want to thank his fellow countrymen. Thanks to the efforts of the head of the administration of the village of Krasnogvardeisky, Tamara Makarenko, and the director of the Krasnogvardeisky school No. 1, Oleg Srednykh, there is now a museum, as well as a school “named after Gennady Fateev.” School, from which he graduated with a gold medal. Huge gratitude to those residents of Stavropol who collected money for the installation of a monument at the poet’s grave.
Veterans of the Great Patriotic War also honor his works. Many of them were surprised that such believable poems, stories and stories about the war, permeated with bitterness and courage, were written by a man who was only 11 years old in 1945.
My father’s work was highly appreciated by people whose names are inscribed in golden letters in the history of the glory of our country, the heroes of his works are the legendary surgeon Ivan Alekseev, who saved hundreds of lives of Soviet prisoners of war in Hitler’s concentration camps, a front-line nurse, the only woman in the world - a full holder of the Order of Glory Matryona Nazdracheva. Low bow to them for this. And, of course, for winning that terrible war!
Gennady Fateev always had a special attitude towards Victory Day. After all, he was born on May 8, and this holiday became a double holiday for him:
I was born in May, when above the earth the stars fall in love with each other, And the grains move in an emerald wave, And the nests are filled with screams... ... I was born in May, when silence Came after the fireworks. On that day, the world war subsided. I was born in May, on Victory Day...
In our spare time, my dad and I loved to remember quotes from our favorite works. Especially one from the novel by a good friend of our family, writer Yulian Semenov, “Seventeen Moments of Spring”: “It’s so good that spring has come. You know, spring is victory, victory over war, over hunger and, if you want, victory over death.” Now I repeat it often. And as soon as May comes, on the eve of the holiday, out of habit, I again look for lilies of the valley at flower markets - my father’s favorite flowers...

Movies
Cinema occupied an important place in the creative biography of Natalya Fateeva. The actress’s film debut was her role in the film “There’s Such a Guy,” which was released in 1956.
The main success overtook Natalya Fateeva in 1963 after the release of the lyrical film comedy “Three Plus Two”, in which Natalya Kustinskaya, Andrei Mironov, Evgeny Zharikov, Gennady Nilov also played.

The film about the vacation of three young men and two girls as savages on the Black Sea coast was watched by 35 million Soviet viewers. Fateeva played the role of Zoya, a tiger tamer, a girl with a lively character. During the filming, the actress had to enter a cage with predators. Her photos began to regularly appear on the covers of magazines dedicated to cinema.
Fateeva considers her best work to be the film “From Evening to Noon,” filmed in 1981. The actress played a woman of a new generation who defends the right to love and live the way she wants. Natalya Fateeva - People's Artist of the RSFSR. In 2014, she received the Nika Award for her supporting role in the film “Leaves Flying in the Wind.”
Personal life of Natalia Fateeva
At the age of 19, student Fateeva first married the Ukrainian actor Leonid Tarabarinov. The marriage lasted about a year, after which Natalya moved to Moscow.
Leonid Tarabarinov - the first husband of Natalia Fateeva
In 1958, the girl married the famous actor and director Vladimir Basov, whom she stole from actress Rosa Makagonova. Their family had a son, Vladimir, who later also chose a creative profession.
Vladimir Basov is the second husband of Natalia Fateeva
However, this marriage of Fateeva soon fell apart: Vladimir was a very jealous person and could not bear the thought that Natalya’s beauty and charm did not belong to him alone.
Natalya left her husband for cosmonaut Boris Egorov, with whom she gave birth to a daughter, Natalya. And although the actress’s new chosen one was a charismatic man, a hero of the USSR and the life of the party, the marriage failed to become happy. In a huge 5-room apartment, parties were constantly held with Yegorov’s colleagues, which exhausted Natalya.

In 1970, after five years of marriage, the couple divorced - actress Natalya Kustinskaya, with whom Fateeva played in “Three Plus Two,” took her away from the pilot’s family. Later, he claimed that Natalia’s daughter was not his, but some Romanian singer with whom Fateeva starred.
Natalya Fateeva never found happiness in marriage
After her divorce from Boris, Natalya married two more times, but both marriages were unhappy. Now Natalya practically does not communicate with her children and grandchildren.

In 2020, the artist underwent 6 operations, after which a long recovery period was required. Fateeva looks to the future with optimism, not allowing herself to become discouraged. She plans to celebrate her upcoming anniversary, which will take place in December 2020, on healthy legs.

Now the performer's health condition is stable. Natalya Nikolaevna moves around the apartment on a walker, and sometimes goes outside on crutches. The actress does not change her habit of walking along Frunzenskaya Embankment. As she mentioned in an interview, she is financially supported by the Artist charity foundation, as well as the Moscow government.
Fateeva herself, when she did not experience problems with her legs, often arranged for her colleagues to receive the necessary treatment and got them to finance operations. Today, a woman is not left in trouble by her friends, neighbors and acquaintances.
Mysterious marriages of Alexey Fateev
Alexey Fateev is a sought-after theater artist who openly communicates with the public on any topic: creativity, new projects or bright collaborations. The only taboo for a talented actor is his personal life. Although the star of the film “Labyrinths of Illusions” can talk for hours about his daughter Maria, sharing the secrets of raising a teenage girl, Alexey will not say a word about his wife.
The future actor spent his childhood in a small Ukrainian town. In Kupyansk, Alexey went to first grade and learned to play the piano, guitar, and drum. The creative nature was absolutely at odds with the brutal appearance. To get closer to the hippie image, Fateev grew his hair long, pierced his ear, and chose the appropriate outfit.
Having received his matriculation certificate, Alexey entered the Kharkov Railway Institute. Although the future artist dreamed of a big stage and applause, he did not upset his parents. Realizing that a poor family could not afford to pay for a contract at a theater university, Fadeev stepped on his own ambitions, postponing his dream for later.
Having become a certified engineer, Alexey hastened to submit documents to the local theater school. The extraordinary guy was no longer able to calculate complex formulas and draw huge diagrams. The talented student was enrolled in the acting department. Fateev was invited to play in graduation productions of graduates, as well as at the Russian Theater. A. S. Pushkin. The artist worked in the last house of art until 2006.
Then Alexey decided to move to the neighboring capital. Here the actor was warmly welcomed into the troupe of the theater. Mayakovsky. At the same time, Fateev began to appear on television screens.
The first wave of popularity and the move to Moscow coincided with happy changes in the actor’s personal life. A few months before leaving for the capital, Alexey and his wife Alina became parents. The charming brunette gave the aspiring actor a daughter, Maria. At a family council, the couple decided that Fateev would first go to the capital alone to settle down, and later his relatives would come to him.
Unfortunately, when Alina and one-year-old Masha arrived in Moscow, they did not see that loving husband and father. The actor disappeared for days at auditions and filming. Fateev later admitted that the family had learned to live without him. When the actor came home, he didn’t feel the warmth, didn’t see the joy. Everyone was busy with their own business. Gradually the relationship faded away. Soon the Fateev couple officially divorced.
Despite breaking up with Alina, Alexey maintains warm, friendly relations with Masha. The actor loves to share little secrets with his daughter and asks her opinion on any issue. Fateev is terribly worried about his daughter’s teenage period, and is even more terrified about choosing a boyfriend.
After breaking up with Alina, Fateev was in no hurry to build a new relationship. After all, not every woman is ready to wait for months for her husband to return from a film expedition, treat fans and partners on the set calmly, and at the same time remain a faithful and loving wife.
The actor plunged headlong into his work, when suddenly the one and only dear woman appeared. The laconic Alexey does not talk about his new chosen one, protecting her from prying eyes and the words of ill-wishers. In one of the interviews, the artist let slip that Alexey Fateev met his new wife at the theater, although at that time she was an employee of the Ministry of Economic Development.
A charming woman was looking for a host to host a themed event in their department. The choice fell on the modest, but textured Alexey with correct and beautiful speech. New acquaintances called each other a lot, clarified work issues, and without even noticing, a romance broke out between them.
Fateev’s mysterious wife has a growing son from a previous marriage; the couple does not yet have any children together. Whether the actor will say the name of his beloved woman or not, time will tell.

At 25, Natalya was not ready to become a mother
It so happened that Natalya Fateeva’s first marriage to Vladimir Basov happened at the start of her acting career. At that time, things began to go uphill and the young girl’s head was turned by the popularity that fell on her.
The child, who was named Vladimir in honor of his father, constantly spent time with the nanny, as his own mother was busy with herself and filming. In conditions of eternal employment, women and their relationships with their husbands began to, as they say, burst at the seams. So, at the age of 28, Natalya realized that her relationship with Vladimir had long since exhausted itself, as a result of which she offered him a divorce, he agreed.
