Unexpectedly, the actor did yoga and meditated for many years. He took his training so seriously that he even interrupted the filming process because of his classes.
“If I had not done yoga, many of my film roles would not have been so successful. After all, the filming process is a very difficult and dreary thing. You can sit there all day waiting to be filmed, and become so tired that all the humor will drain out of you on its own. How to play then? In the personal life of Georgy Vitsin there were both bright love affairs and a faithful family life. In 1936, while working at the future Ermolova Theater, Vitsin fell in love with the wife of artistic director Nikolai Khmelev. Dina Topoleva was still a very young nineteen-year-old girl, while Georgy was already a grown man of 35 years old.

Georgy Vitsin's popularity came from his roles in Gaidai's comedies. In films together with Yuri Nikulin and Evgeny Morgunov, he convincingly portrayed inseparable comrades. But in real life, the trio were people too different and incompatible.
Morgunov loved to party and often behaved boorishly with the director. Vitsin was always deep in his own thoughts and silent. And only the holiday man Nikulin tried to establish contacts with everyone. But the actors never became friends.

Despite the fact that he could not swim, Georgy Mikhailovich agreed to a dangerous episode - to rush along the Dnieper on water skis - after the cunning director showed him a fake letter from an imaginary fan : “I heard that tomorrow you will be skiing along the Dnieper, you are so brave, I admire you and dream of meeting you, I will definitely come to see you.”
Many of Vitsin’s colleagues remember well the incident when the actor starred in the film “She Loves You” together with a real lion. According to the director's idea, the animal should have been kept at a distance from the artist and behind bars.

But something went wrong, and the lion came close to Vitsin. Everyone gasped, but Georgy Mikhailovich was not afraid. He only said, “Don’t be afraid, predators sense brave people,” and then fearlessly stroked the animal’s head. And he didn’t touch him!
