Georgy Martirosyan: biography

The famous actor was born on January 31, 1948 in Rostov-on-Don. His mother is Russian, and his father is a purebred Armenian (Khachatur Martirosyan). Love and harmony have always reigned in the international family.

Our hero's childhood fell during the difficult post-war period. However, Georgy remembers only good moments. His parents were hospitable people. Little Gosha was sent for the summer to his grandmother in a village located near the city of Vladimir. A lake, a lush forest and cozy houses - this is exactly the picture that remains in the actor’s memory.

Our hero studied well at school. Threes were extremely rare in his diary. Georgy was drawn to knowledge. And the boy also loved adventure. He could persuade his classmates and go with them to the left bank of the Don. For his ability to lead people, Gosha received the nickname Old Man Makhno.

In high school, Georgy Martirosyan (see photo above) enrolled in a theater club. It happened completely by accident. One day a guy walked along the corridor and looked into the hall where the play was being rehearsed. Gosha was delighted with what was happening on stage. The first role he played was a tramp. Martirosyan read the monologue with expression. The audience rewarded him with loud applause. Behind the scenes, Georgiy’s teacher was jumping with happiness.

Conquest of Moscow

Georgy Martirosyan could have a good career in Rostov. At first he worked at the local drama theater. He constantly got second roles. The actor tried to gain authority in the team and the sympathy of the director. But it didn't work out for him. At some point, Georgy decided to leave.

At the Youth Theater his acting career took off. Martirosyan began to be appointed to the main roles. The public received him with a bang. But even this level no longer suited the ambitious actor.

In 1973, a young man decided to go to Moscow. There are more opportunities there. Arriving in the capital, Gosha went to the film studio named after. Gorky. A tall brunette with a textured appearance attracted the attention of directors. Almost immediately he was offered to star in the comedy “Screen Star”. Georgy could not miss such a chance. He played the operator Petya. The role was small. But the young actor received invaluable practical experience, as well as a good salary.

Martirosyan was counting on further career development. But there were no further offers of cooperation. He had to return to his native Rostov.

Friendly relations began between them. It was Alexander Gavriilovich who advised our hero to go to work at the Lenkom Theater. Martirosyan heeded his recommendation. He devoted several years to this theater.

Actor Georgy Martirosyan has starred in more than 70 films. He also lent his voice to two dozen films created by American and European directors.

Movie

In 1973, Georgy Martirosyan went to the Maxim Gorky film studio in Moscow and, without much effort, received an episode in the film “Ivanov’s Boat” and the role of cameraman Petya in the musical comedy “Screen Star”. The fact is that director Vladimir Gorikker was impressed by the powerful, textured appearance of the young actor.

External data determined George’s role for quite some time. His large stature, pumped up muscles, impassive face, and angelic curls on his head gave the artist many roles. But although the filming was frequent and regular, Martirosyan often got the same type of images. Moreover, more often he was offered negative characters than positive ones, but the artist was even happy about this: playing villains in films is more interesting.

In the late 70s, Georgy auditioned for the role of Porthos in the television film “D'Artagnan and the Three Musketeers.” The first takes were filmed, but suddenly an order came from the ministry: to give the role to Valentin Smirnitsky. As a result, Martirosyan played one of the cardinal’s guards, but during editing of the film those scenes turned out to be cut out.

At the end of the twentieth century, Georgy Martirosyan starred in many films: the action film "Pirates of the 20th Century", the fairy tale "There, on Unknown Paths...", the detective story "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson", the spy film "TASS is authorized to declare...", the comedy "The Most charming and attractive", the historical drama "Cyrano de Bergerac", the crime thriller "Genius", the action-packed film "Golden River".

The actor also managed to reveal his comedic talent in such roles as a narrow-minded footman in “The Adventures of Prince Florizel”, the owner of a gay salon in “The President and His Granddaughter”, a military leader in the children’s fairy tale “One, two, grief is not a problem!”, a traffic police inspector in "Double Pass". It is worth noting the role of the former deputy regional prosecutor in the famous trilogy “Love in Russian”, the prosecutor in the crime drama “Voroshilovsky Shooter” and Georgy Ivanovich in the comedy “Impotent”.

In the 21st century, the actor increasingly plays executives. He is the chairman of the National Sports Fund Rostislav Strizh in the detective story “Turetsky March”, and the mayor of the city of Tver in the youth series about Suvorov students “Kadetstvo”, and the chairman of the trade union committee in the comedy “Parisian Love by Kostya Gumankova”, and a deputy of the State Duma in the series “Kremlin Cadets” .

The actor's most recent works include the crime comedy Temporarily Unavailable, the psychological drama The Last Night, and the detective series Dusty Work.

Georgy Martirosyan: personal life

Our hero's first wife was actress Lyudmila Aristova. They lived together for several years. In 1969, Lyudmila gave her husband a son. The boy was named Dmitry. Soon the couple officially filed for divorce.

In 1980, Georgy Khachaturovich came to work at the Satire Theater. Within the walls of this institution he met his second wife, Tatyana Vasilyeva. In 1983 they got married. The celebration was attended by relatives from the bride and groom’s side, as well as their colleagues on the theater stage. In November 1986, the couple had a daughter, Elizabeth. The actor spent all his free time from work with his family. But even the common daughter did not save the parents from divorce. In 1995, Martirosyan again became a bachelor. He decided that he would not marry again.

Personal life

While studying at the Rostov Theater Institute, Georgy fell in love with fellow student Lyudmila Aristova. The lovers got married and soon became parents - in 1969 their son Dmitry was born. Over time, the couple's relationship began to deteriorate, and they divorced. Aristova remarried and moved to Lvov with her son, and Georgy set off to conquer Moscow. When Dmitry was 12 years old, he moved to his father in the capital.

There were rumors in the creative community that the reason for the couple’s divorce was Martirosyan’s passion for actress Svetlana Penkina. However, the actor denied these speculations, assuring that the relationship with Svetlana began after breaking up with Aristova. In addition, according to the artist, it was Lyudmila who was to blame for the divorce, who after a while became addicted to alcohol, and Georgy was forced to take her son away from her.

Subsequently, Martirosyan managed to create a new family. This time his chosen one was the charismatic actress Tatyana Vasilyeva. The artists were brought together by their joint work on the production “The Wood Grouse’s Nest.” For some time, the lovers were forced to hide their feelings, since Vasilyeva was officially married. Only after her divorce in 1983 was Martirosyan able to propose marriage to his beloved woman.

Unfortunately, even the birth of their common daughter Elizabeth could not protect this couple from separation. The divorce did not spoil the relationship between Georgy and Tatyana, and they were able to remain friends.

It is noteworthy that Martirosyan’s children did not follow in their father’s footsteps. Dmitry started his own business, and Elizaveta chose the field of TV journalism and design. In 2011, the artist became a grandfather when Lisa gave birth to her son Adam.

After his divorce from Vasilyeva, Georgy no longer entered into an official marriage. He currently lives with a young woman named Natalya, who is thirty years younger than the artist.
