Evgenia Ogurtsova was born in one of the Moscow maternity hospitals on March 29, 1990. At three, the girl sat down at the piano for the first time, and later graduated from music school with honors. Classical studies were easy; teachers called Zhenya a child prodigy.

The parents were proud of their daughter’s academic success; Zhenya passed her school exams as an external student. Evgenia’s biography contains another interesting fact - the girl is the grandniece of the famous Red Army soldier Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya.
In addition to musical and intellectual abilities, Zhenya showed talent as an organizer. At the age of 16, the girl came up with the idea of creating an all-girl rock band from her friends. As a result, the first lineup of the Ranetki group was as follows: Lera Kozlova was responsible for vocals and drums, Natasha Shchelkova for lead guitar, Anya Rudneva for rhythm guitar. Evgenia, of course, took up the keyboard and via the Internet found the fifth “Ranetka” Lena Tretyakova, a bass guitarist.

In 2005, the Ranetki group first announced itself as a musical group. Young, perky, talented girls first performed at small venues, in little-known clubs. The circle of fans consisted of former classmates, friends and parents. The unfamiliar audience was struck by the red-haired, curly keyboard player, energetic and lively.

Zhenya was not only a source of energy, but also the “brain” of the group. Thanks to the pressure, the group in 2006-2007 was invited to take part in famous music festivals, “as an opening act”. The girls do not miss the chance and get acquainted with such groups as “UmaTurman”, “Roots”, “City-312”, and their cooperation begins. “Ranetok” is already recognized on the street, the number of fans is growing, but the girls will achieve resounding success a little later.
In 2008, Ranetok was invited to record compositions for the increasingly popular TV series “Cadets” among young people, which airs on STS. “She’s Alone”, “Ranetki”, “Boy Cadets” - the simple lyrics and music of these songs were instantly remembered by the audience, and the group instantly became the object of adoration of millions. Their CDs and autographed photos are sold out like hot cakes by fans.
Considering the unambiguous popularity of the girl group, the creators of “Cadets” invite the girls to star in the new series and play themselves, telling about the creative path of the group. According to the script, the girls’ surnames were changed, and “cadets” Arthur Sopelnik, Vadim Andreev and others were also invited to the shooting.
The series “Ranetki” told viewers not only the story of the group’s success; the plot was much broader. There are the girls' first love and their first disappointments. In the series, the singer Zhenya, as in life, is an excellent student, whom strict parents do not give a single drop of freedom, constantly keeping her within limits. Despite the lack of acting experience, the girls coped with the director's task.

In 2008, the series was released on the screen, viewers instantly fell in love with the heroines: the success of “Ranetka” was guaranteed. After this, the girls were invited a couple more times to play episodic roles in films: they played in the TV series “Happy Together” and in the film “Once Upon a Time in Baden-Baden.” Together with Anya, Zhenya starred in an advertisement for “o.b.” tampons.
In 2013, the group decided to stop their creative activities; their last concert was given on June 1 at the Rio shopping center. Zhenya continues to practice vocals, writes songs and even created a group called “Red”. The solo career was not as successful as the group: the result was several concerts and a couple of tracks that did not reach the top of the charts. Former Ranetki try to get together at least once a year and play famous songs.

Evgenia Ogurtsova, or as she is called Zhenechka-Ranetka these days, was born in Moscow on March 29, 1989. By the way, she is the great-niece of the famous Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya. From the age of three, Zhenya played the piano, and later studied piano at a music school. Things were going well at the regular school too, the girl was a real prodigy-accelerator, she passed all her school exams as an external student.
She was 16 years old when one of her friends came up with the idea of creating a rock band out of just girls. After the success of Kadetstvo, the creators decided to start filming a new series. They decided to take the real story of the creation of the Ranetki group as a basis, naming the series itself the same way. The main roles in it were played by the members of the group, and under their real names. Only their last names were changed. In addition, actors who have proven themselves in Kadetstvo were invited to the series: Arthur Sopelnik, Linda Tabagari, Valery Barinov, Vadim Andreev and others.
The film is not only and not so much about the creation of a girl musical group. Its plot is much broader. This is the story of the lives of five girls, their first love, disappointments, dramas. In the series, Zhenya, as in real life, is an excellent student. But the existence of her heroine is not at all sugar. Overly strict parents do not allow you to take a single step without supervision; everything is subject to the strictest regulations, leaving no time or energy for anything else...
Despite the lack of experience in cinema, all the girls actually turned out natural in the frame. This provided them with luck. As soon as it appeared on screens (in March 2008), the series immediately won the hearts of millions of viewers, raising considerable interest in Ranetki.
Ranetki. What's next?
Today Ranetki is already a fairly popular group. They are admired and respected. The group has no fans. All this imposes a huge responsibility. Therefore, the girls approached work on their new album (also with filming in the series) with all seriousness. Their songs can be said to have matured, and this cannot but rejoice.
Ranetki girls study in the same group at the Moscow State Institute of Culture and Arts (MGUKI) at the Faculty of Social and Cultural Activities, majoring in Producing and Staging Show Programs.
About Zhenya Ogurtsova herself, it is not forbidden to say that this is the energy and mind of Ranetok. Quiet and timid in the series, she is different in life. On stage, Evgeniya really lights up and gets the audience going. Zhenya is also a very athletic girl; she is a master at snowboarding.

Unexpectedly for many, Evgenia Ogurtsova in 2010, at the peak of her popularity, married Pavel Averin. Love broke out at first sight, and the couple had a lot in common: the future husband also studied music, playing the trumpet. The romance developed rapidly; a few days after they met, the young people got tattoos on their calves with each other’s initials. The guys signed 4 months after they met in the Dominican Republic, on the Caribbean coast. The wedding was simple, the newlyweds dressed up in Hawaiian style, and the smile never left their faces. In February 2020, Zhenya told fans that she and Anatoly had decided to divorce. The couple currently do not communicate much. In one of the vlogs, Ogurtsova said that Tolik turned out to be an ungrateful person. Having left home, he is not interested in his son and family problems.
