Moving to Moscow
The singer repeatedly won the Tyumen talent competition “Step”, but soon he felt cramped in the small town. Chumakov was drawn to Moscow. In 2003, he convinced his parents to move to the capital with him.
Shortly after his arrival, Alexey saw an announcement about the casting of the show “People's Artist”. He successfully passed it and became a full participant in the project. The talented young man managed to reach the final, he took third place, losing the lead to Alexey Goman and Alexander Panayotov. The singer also received the audience award from Europe Plus radio; 50% of listeners voted for him.
Thanks to his participation in the talent show, Chumakov was noticed by producers Evgeny Fridlyand and Kim Breitburg. The future singer was born in 1972 in Moscow. His parents had working professions: his father worked in a restaurant, and his mother was a crane operator. Sergei showed an interest in music even in his early childhood years, which his parents immediately noted.
