Katya was born and raised in Tula in the family of Sergei and Svetlana Kishchuk. The parents raised another daughter, Olga. Ekaterina began dancing before school and devoted her teenage years to this hobby.

From the wide variety of applicants, the project managers selected 10 people and posted the girls’ profiles on the official page of the Serebro group. A further choice was given to the fans: which of the candidates they would prefer to see among their favorites.
On April 13, 2020, Maxim Fadeev announced that the choice fell on 22-year-old model Katya Kishchuk, who won by a huge margin. About 27 thousand people voted for her, which is 43% of the votes, while the girl coming next received only 11%.
Teamwork began immediately. Already 4 days after the conclusion of the contract, the first song with the participation of Katya Kishchuk Chocolate was recorded, and later a video appeared for this musical composition, where 3 soloists of the group shone at once - Olga Seryabkina, Polina Favorskaya and Katya Kishchuk.

In mid-June, the new lineup began re-recording the hit “Let Me Go” in audio and video format. The singers performed the same song at the Muz-TV awards ceremony. — Katya, you have released a new album “22K”. Where did you find inspiration when working on it?
I was inspired by life, all situations, emotions experienced, places visited. Some songs are related to events that happened to me in childhood and adolescence. The entire album is made in the spirit of the 2000s.
— Have you already thought about the first video for the song from the album?
Yes, this will be a video for the song “Beautiful”. We will start filming in July.
— Why are you creating new music under the pseudonym Katerina?
To me it sounds very strong and sustainable, so I wanted my brand to be called that way.
— Have you decided to finally leave Maxim Fadeev’s label?
Yes, I wanted to take a risk, I needed more time to develop and travel. I didn’t have any disagreements with Fadeev, he understood me and easily let me go. No scandals or intrigues either. That Instagram account was created for me when I came to SEREBRO. So it was quite normal to give it away. I had my own personal page. I don’t feel any connection to social networks.
— Do you keep in touch with the girls from SEREBRO?
Yes, we see Olya, Tanya and Polina. Not very often, since everyone has solo projects, but we call each other regularly. We’ve been wanting to get together and go out into nature for a long time.
— How do you usually prefer to relax?
I can go to the country, to nature, and sometimes go abroad. The main thing is to relax and gain strength.
— How have you changed since joining SEREBRO?
I have become more mature and responsible. I'm learning a lot. I have to make my own decisions, I’m more balanced, less hot-tempered. Previously, I took many moments to heart, now greater awareness comes. I start to live, and not watch someone. But I have to be a lot nervous, because in the PC I was in comfortable conditions and did not yet know what difficulties I would face in my solo career.
— What restrictions were there while working at SEREBRO? Maybe it was impossible to gain much weight?
No, I could easily gain a little weight, but, of course, 75 kilograms with a height of 160 centimeters would not allow anyone. I was almost always blonde, it was easy for me to dye my hair with tonic, and it washed off within three days. Sometimes I warned about my experiments, sometimes I didn’t.
— Did you manage to make any savings while working at SEREBRO? Where did you get the funds for your solo work?
I have many friends, producers who helped me with songs. I started making money from advertising, but initially I spent the money I received on an album. I didn’t buy an apartment, I’m renting. I don’t want to buy housing in Moscow. For now, the goal is to build a house for my mother in Tula, but I don’t know yet where I will live.
— How do you travel around the city?
The driver takes me around. I don’t take a taxi; I’ve had some unpleasant situations. I can sleep on the road, listen to music, work.
— Do you make money from advertising on Instagram?
Not often, I don't like it when a blogger's page is full of any advertising. I don't even post photos often. If there are offers from people I trust or from friends, I agree. But these are exceptions.
— Some people think your pictures are candid...
I make sure it doesn't look messy. My mom watches Instagram and she likes it. There is only one picture where I am naked and wearing boots. Mom called me and said: “Oh, Katya, I was stunned when I saw the photo, but it’s beautiful.” I like it when women show off their bodies and are confident in their beauty.
— How is your relationship with your mother?
She always supported me. As a child, my mother sent me to clubs: singing, dancing, drawing. She understood that I was not a mathematician at all, so she knew that she had to follow this path. And my sister received three higher educations, she is talented both in the humanities and in calculations. I had quarrels with my mother when there were difficulties at the university, because I wanted to work faster. But now my mother tells me that I’m great.
— Was your wedding recently discussed on the Internet? Is it true that you got married in Paris?
No. Thomas and I have been friends for many years and have long wanted to do some kind of joint performance.
- Do you have a boyfriend now?
Not at the moment. I’m trying not to be distracted by relationships for now, because work comes first for me now. I recently became a solo artist, and believe me, this requires enormous strength. I can go on a date, I want to feel beautiful and be courted. I don't have any ideal guy. When you start communicating, you see only positive qualities, a certain chemistry occurs. I am a loving person. Men don't have to be handsome, for example, I like fat men. I usually go for sensations and intuition.
—Have you encountered obsessive fans who followed you along the way?
Yes they were. It's very scary. I have to change phones and use photos other than mine in messengers. I never shoot stories from my window. Now I don’t do anything stupid so that they can find me.
— How do you cope with loneliness?
I love being alone with myself, I enjoy being alone, I’m not afraid. If I'm in a bad mood, I sometimes try to prolong it by listening to sad music. There is always positivity inside me, faith in the best.

— How do you maintain your appearance?
I don't do any special procedures. I try to eat normally, not drink soda, but only water, and eat less salt. If you don’t have time for sports, then you can go out and just take a walk.
— How do you feel about what haters write?
You can’t get into someone else’s head; it’s hard to say what they think. I used to react more aggressively to negative comments. Now I have become calmer, I try to love everyone and treat this with understanding.
