The young man actively took part in various business projects that developed against the backdrop of perestroika, but real success came to him in 1991, when his sister became the wife of the mayor of the capital. But Viktor Nikolaevich did not stay under her “wing” for long, only 10 years, after which disagreements began between brother and sister.

By a strange coincidence, the new company was engaged in the production and sale of polymers, and Luzhkov worked in the same field. Since 2003, Viktor Baturin and his sister have headed the company, which acquired many land plots in the Belgorod region. At first, things went smoothly, but already in 2005, accusations began again: law enforcement officers claimed that the company was buying land at too low a cost and subsequently reselling it. However, journalists managed to get to the bottom of the truth: it turned out that the company’s activities were preventing local authorities from developing one of the local mines.

Viktor Nikolaevich Baturin himself called all the accusations against the activities of Inteko-Agro provocative actions; their reason, in his opinion, was a conflict of interest with Metal Group LLC, headed by the son of Viktor Chernomyrdin.

— Do you communicate with your nieces?
— Alena and Olga went to the Baturin breed. My nieces are gold! But we don't communicate. This is impossible when adults are in such a situation. Now the girls are already studying in college. Olga graduated from Kholmogory school, probably like her uncle - she will be a mathematician.

— What is the current state of Inteko?

— In five years, Elena ruined a successful company. Thank God I still left some money for myself. This happened because she never engaged in professional activities, did not go to work, everything was on me. First she gave birth to children. Then I breastfed them and sat on maternity leave.

— Why can’t brother and sister come to an agreement without going to court?

— Money is valued by those who earn it. And when your brother brought them to you on a silver platter, you begin to consider yourself the navel of the earth. I repeatedly offered Lena various options for solving the problem, but she ignored them. I filed a complaint with the Investigative Committee. She did not pay me my wages, and this is a criminal offense under the article “Fraud”. The total debt is 3.5 billion rubles.

At one of my enterprises there was a delay in wages for three months, so half the prosecutor’s office was sitting in my office: I reported to them and paid the workers out of my own pocket. The director was to blame, but he was appointed by me. Why does Elena behave differently with me? The law does not say anywhere that millionaires are fired in a special way. What's wrong with getting married when a girl is 27 years old? And it made my father happy, he still managed to nurse his granddaughters. But the fact that Luzhkov is older than her, as it turns out, doesn’t matter. They have already lived for 20 years.

- Why weren’t you at your sister’s wedding?

— There were gatherings in a narrow circle in a restaurant.

— Did your sister show the makings of an iron lady as a child?

- It was never made of iron or plastic. Life didn’t spoil Lena much. She suffered from bronchial asthma until she was 14 years old. Every spring, her mother took her to Crimea to breathe the sea air. During adolescence, the disease passed. But weight problems remained, and she constantly struggled with it. Perhaps the hardships she went through in her youth made her stronger. However, Lena was never considered smart in our family. She learned everything from me.

— Do you think that if Baturina had not married Luzhkov, would she have become one of the richest women in the world?
“I think she would be an engineer and earn a thousand dollars a month.” All high-ranking Russian officials have wives, but only Luzhkov’s wife is a billionaire. At the same time, a criminal case was opened against Baturin on charges of fraud on an especially large scale. The investigation proved that he sold the same real estate several times, which, moreover, had already been arrested. This time the entrepreneur got off with a suspended sentence.

However, this accusation was not the last; in 2011 and 2012, the Russian tax service filed claims against him for deliberately not indicating some large incomes in his declaration. In connection with new charges of fraud regarding the sale of an invalid bill of exchange, the defendant was left in a pre-trial detention center; the investigation feared that when free he could put pressure on witnesses or simply flee abroad.
