What is TV presenter Dmitry Krylov doing now?

Childhood and youth

The fate of Dmitry Krylov was unusual from the very beginning. He was born in a boat, on the open sea, while transporting the boy's mother to the maternity hospital. And 9 days before Dima’s appearance, in September 1946, the child’s father died in the same Sea of Okhotsk, leaving his 21-year-old wife Evgenia a widow.

As Dmitry’s mother later said, at such a difficult moment in her life, one married couple who did not have their own children even offered her to give them the baby. But the young mother did not agree to this. Soon the small Krylov family leaves for the Moscow region. And this was the first trip of the future TV director. And Evgenia fulfilled her dream and became an opera singer.

Then Evgenia married Lev Samuilovich Rosenblum. The man worked for 30 years at the Kazan Opera and Ballet Theater. Dmitry’s mother met her future husband when she entered the conservatory. The girl studied vocals, and the young man studied the violin. At this time, Evgenia’s son lived with his grandmother in Zvenigorod, near Moscow.

Dmitry Krylov with his mother and stepfather

When my parents graduated from the conservatory, they were assigned to work in Ulan-Ude. After the required three years, the family moved to Kazan. Krylov speaks warmly of his stepfather. Dmitry considered the man a father. According to the journalist, the boy had a difficult relationship with his mother, but his father supported and protected his son. Lev Samuilovich passed away in 2020.

At school, Dmitry was not distinguished by academic success and after graduation he immediately went to repay his debt to his homeland in the troops of the Soviet army. And again Dmitry makes a trip, but now abroad, to Czechoslovakia.

Crossing the border made an indelible impression on him. After all, many people dreamed of visiting Europe, even the countries of the Soviet camp, even then, in the mid-60s. After returning to civilian life, Krylov entered GITIS in the department of pop directing.

In parallel with his studies, he tried many professions. Dmitry worked in many different ways in his youth: as a watchman, a loader, an assistant director, a stagehand, an ambulance driver, and even the head of his small film studio. This is not surprising: working with film and the pursuit of an original plot already in those years turned out to be a source of inspiration for him.

Dmitry Krylov: I'm not macho!

A prostitute predicted to a TV traveler when and where he would die

Dmitry KRYLOV has been working on television for almost 30 years, and for 20 of them he has hosted “Bad Notes” on the First TV channel. Last year he celebrated his 65th birthday. The TV presenter lives with his fourth wife and helps his 26-year-old son Mitya and stepson Dmitry as best he can. In a conversation with our correspondent, Dmitry turned out to be extremely frank.

— Have you ever counted how many countries you’ve visited?

- A little over a hundred. That means in half of the existing ones. Apart from Uganda, I have not been anywhere else in Central Africa. And it doesn’t really pull. And one of the latest discoveries is the Philippines. I went there after hearing a lot of vivid stories from Volodya Solovyov . Indeed, the country turned out to be beautiful, and the people were friendly and courteous.

— Have any emergencies happened while traveling?

— For example, I got lost in Tokyo. I fell behind the film crew on the first day of my stay. I didn’t know what hotel we were living in, I didn’t have money or a phone with me, I don’t know English. I often have nightmares in my dreams. In one: I go on stage, forget the lyrics, I don’t have a costume, and in the other, I get lost in the metropolis. This dream became prophetic. Then I had a key to the room, there was no name of the hotel, but only the letter “A”. No matter how much I showed it to taxi drivers, no one understood. And then one, a few hours later, finally figured it out and brought me to the hotel.

Despite the fact that the TV star was always surrounded by charming beauties, Dmitry believes that there is no male in him

And once I got sick in Tibet and had insomnia.
I didn’t sleep for five days, mental changes began. But it was during this insomnia that I began to write a book. I only fell asleep on the plane, when I was flying back to Moscow. I just passed out, and when I woke up, I looked: Luzhniki, Moscow River. I decided that terrorists had hijacked the plane and were flying to ram the Kremlin. But somehow it worked out. This time. — As far as I know, not only your wife but also your children accompany you on your trips.

— My wife Tatyana works as an editor on the show, her son Dmitry is a cameraman, and my son Mitya from a previous marriage comes with us once a year. In Tibet, he then helped me out: he filmed a video, and I made a whole program out of it. All expenses are included in the budget. But it’s mostly the receiving party who pays. My friends even went with me several times. And they passed as members of the film crew. We always give fair warning to who is coming, and people don’t mind.

— I heard that you and your wife live separately and even stay in different rooms on business trips. Is it really true?

- Not certainly in that way. We used to live in different apartments: I lived in Maryina Roshcha, and Tanya lived first in Balashikha, then in Novogireevo. Now we just have different bedrooms. About hotel rooms - everything is true. People who work and live under the same roof for many years need personal space. This doesn't make our marriage any worse. So it seems to us.

I met my fourth wife Tatyana by phone

Coincidence

— Tatyana Barinova, with whom you have been together for 20 years, is your fourth wife. Who were her predecessors?

— I got married for the first time at 25. Albina was ten years older than me. We met when I worked as an assistant director at the Rossiya concert hall. It was brought together by a friend who worked there as an editor. We lived together for 5 years, but after the divorce we don’t communicate. The second wife, Natalya, is my age. Relationships with her daughters are sketchy. Both work on TV and seem to be quite successful. The third, Mitya’s mother, is two years younger than me and works as a literary editor. I am ten years older than my current wife Tatyana. If you follow this logic, then the fifth wife should probably be Lolita. Although, it seems to me that I have ceased to arouse interest among women. There is such a thing as sex appeal, but I don’t think I’ve ever had it. I'm not macho! A macho man should feel like a male, but apparently I don’t have this male in me. But I don't regret it. But the fact that I have always been the initiator of divorce does not suit me.

— How did your love story with Tatyana begin?

“She watched my programs and she liked me. I found a work phone number and called. This was a unique case: I was sitting in that control room, where I had not been either before or after the call. We talked and decided to meet. Everyone had their own personal life. We were just friends for a while, and then we realized that there was something more between us.

— What is your son doing now?
— He is 26. He graduated from Stroganov, worked for Nikolai Fomenko when he started making the Marusya car. Now - in one studio, he earns very modestly. Mitya is not married, but has a regular girlfriend with whom he has been living for two years. I helped financially while he was studying and looking for work. But after graduating from a university, a person must support himself, otherwise he becomes corrupted. Although even now I occasionally buy my son some things necessary for work and rarely clothes. I also gave Mitya my car. The elder Dmitry now needs help with the car. He recently got his license. We agreed to help him purchase a car on the condition that he quit smoking. Looks like he gave up.

— Are you on good terms with Mitya’s mother?

- Now yes. And when they divorced, Galina was offended that I left the family, and did not always let her son go on trips with me. In general, all my breaks with my wives were painful. Now my ex-spouses are not married. Unfortunately, I didn't keep them happy and didn't do anything about it. This is my sin, my fault. A person lives his story. If she turns out to be mean, he will answer for it in the next world. Or maybe that's it. In any case, the punishment will come.

KRYLOV receives a positive charge from pets

— If you could rewind life, like a film, would you change anything?
— I would choose the option: one wife for life. Of course, I would be different, and life would have turned out differently... But there is no return to the past. I was born in the Far East, my father died nine days before I was born - the name was given in honor of him. Some elderly childless couple, with whom my mother lived after my birth, suggested to her: “You are 21 years old. Go to Moscow, study at the conservatory, and leave your son to us.” But if she had left me, I would still have lived in the Far East.

- Perhaps this is called fate?

- This is most likely a coincidence, fate is something else. I was once amazed by a girl I met on a cruise. She predicted the future for me, told me when and where I would die. And so that I would believe her, she told me various facts from the past. Everything is spot on, although she couldn’t possibly know any personal stories about me! Her predictions upset me, and I got drunk out of grief. After a while, when the predictions began to come true, I wanted to find this girl. But she literally eluded me. I met her at a club - it turned out that my clairvoyant earns her living with her body. One day I found her phone, but at the other end of the line they cut off: “Don’t call here!” This whore doesn't live here anymore!

— Does the name Dmitry mean something in your destiny?

- My grandfather, father, son, stepson - all Dmitry. When my son was born, I wanted to name him Dima, but I didn’t voice it, and my mother-in-law, Lyudmila Nikolaevna, said: “Let’s call him Mitya.” Nice. But there is an opinion that a child named after a parent bears all his hardships and hardships. And so it happened: my son often repeats my mistakes.

A traveler always quickly finds a common language with children

Until the first ice

— There was an interesting program on TV about the travels of Pavel Lyubimtsev, “Notes of a Naturalist.” She disappeared from the air, and you remained.

“I think the reason for this is that there was some kind of personal conflict, some kind of story between Lyubimtsev and the channel’s management. Pasha could well continue to work on the channel, because he, together with Misha Shirvindt, came up with a very funny character. The only thing that bothered me about “Notes of a Naturalist” was the large number of presenters on the screen. But many of my colleagues working in this genre are guilty of this. But, to be honest, I have my own, much more serious “sins”.

—Are you satisfied with the salary?

- Do you know such people? I haven't met. So, of course, I would like more. I love money, it allows you to make life more pleasant, more comfortable, it allows you to enjoy some pleasures, which may be excessive. And I hope these words don’t catch the attention of my employers. And many who envy me will understand me in this.

I learned to shoot straight in the army.

— How long have you been living in a country house?
- Ten years. And I can no longer imagine what it’s like to live in the city, although I have an apartment next to Ostankino. Relatives live there now. And in the house with us there are numerous animals: two pugs, a guard shepherd, cats. It is difficult to keep them in an apartment. We have a plot of 12 acres, a small wooden two-story cottage with six rooms: three bedrooms, a living room, two offices. This is the first house in my life that I built. I got everything I could have suffered from the thieving foremen in full.

— Is there a swimming pool?

- Inflatable. He helped us a lot in the heat. I got up at three o'clock in the morning and climbed into the pool to cool down a little. Thanks to this, I returned to hardening - I swam literally until the first ice. In my youth, after the army, when I lived in Zvenigorod, in the morning before work I went to the Moscow River and swam. Also before frost. You can’t imagine how much of a charge this gives you for the whole day!

And he devoted the first issues to traveling around London.

The audience immediately liked the ironic and light manner of the TV presenter; future tourists found the stories on air about the peculiarities of countries to which Soviet people had not yet traveled to be useful. The public, together with Dmitry, discovered the then mysterious world of foreign countries. Dmitry Krylov got into the trend of the times and became popular.

At the beginning of the project, the group went to the USA on a long trip, from where they brought a series of 12 programs about North America. Each Krylov program reveals a new country to the audience from an unusual point of view. For inexperienced travelers, Krylov discovered such heavenly places on Earth as the island of Bali and sunny Bulgaria.

At the evenings, Krylov showed participants interesting places on the planet and told amazing details left behind the scenes of the TV show “Bad Notes.”

The beginning of Dmitry Krylov's television career

Dmitry worked in his next place for eleven years. It was the Rossiya Concert Hall, where he worked first as an assistant director and then as a stage director.

In 1978, Krylov became a certified variety director, graduating from GITIS, where he even taught for two years, resigning in 1983. Dmitry Krylov - Star Houses - Star Life With the beginning of Perestroika, Dmitry began working at Sputnik Televiewer. The television program was published once a month, where Krylov was both the author and presenter. At the same time, he collaborated with the American television company TBS, which produced the “Evening” program on Soviet television. At that time there was such a TV show as “Spotlight of Perestroika”, the author of several episodes of which was Dmitry.

Starting in 1991, he began working at the Youth Editorial Office of Central Television, where he hosted the “Telescope” program, the author and director of which he himself was.

“Bad Notes” is a program first released in 1991. It is published until today. Its author is Dmitry Krylov, who is also the presenter. The first film consisted of four episodes and was about London. Against the backdrop of officialdom, this program immediately attracted attention, as it showed viewers a subjective view of life abroad.

Sometimes he was ironic, sometimes naive. The author was not an expert on life in the West. While watching the TV program, it seemed to the viewer that he himself was making a journey, discovering a different side of another life.

For five years, viewers saw “Bad Notes” from time to time; the program was released as new episodes appeared. Having become acquainted with London, Dmitry filmed material about West Berlin, and then about cruises on the Mediterranean Sea and about coastal countries and cities. These were stories about Istanbul and Venice, Genoa and Sicily, Nice and Rome, Malta and Athens. France. Guide by Dmitry Krylov The author’s so-called “American” period lasted for twelve episodes. Talking about Denmark, Krylov filmed not only a program for adults, but also a program for children, in which he showed a child’s view. Six-year-old Mitya, his son, starred with Dmitry. The audience liked this innovation, and Krylov similarly filmed a trip to the Greek islands, a program about a Caribbean cruise, and took a trip to Orlando to Disney World with his son. Channel One, starting in 1996, began showing “Bad Notes” regularly.

Krylov and his film crew have already visited more than a hundred cities around the world; they even filmed at the North Pole. According to Dmitry, he was in Africa only once, it was Uganda, but he wouldn’t want to go there again. But the author of the program really liked the Philippines because of the beauty of nature, as well as the friendly people.

Personal life

The personal life of a television journalist was not easy. Dmitry Krylov is married for the fourth time, and, according to the man, happily for the first time.

Dmitry's first wife was a woman named Albina, who was ten years older. Krylov then turned 25. The man lived with her for five years. Krylov quickly broke up with his second wife Natalya and third, whose name is unknown.

Dmitry Krylov with his wife Tatyana Barinova

In his third marriage in 1987, Dmitry had an heir, Dmitry (Mitya). The young man graduated from the Stroganov School, industrial design department.

With his fourth wife, Tatyana Barinova, the family turned out to be extremely strong. The relationship between Dmitry and Tanya is almost the same age as the “Bad Notes” program.

Dmitry Krylov with his wife

Krylov's wife helped him as an editor. As the TV presenter himself explains, he constantly needs an outside view, a person who soberly evaluates the quality of the footage. Therefore, she and Tatyana travel together. In addition, his wife’s son from her first marriage, Dmitry, having studied at the Institute of Cinematography, became a broadcast operator and also visits overseas countries as part of a film crew.

In early episodes, Dmitry took his son Mitya with him on trips when he was 6 years old, creating a new format for this kind of program - traveling through the eyes of children.

One of the advantages of such a project for the creators is the chance to appreciate the cuisines of the world. Dmitry is known as a gourmet. Together with his wife, he is a fan of seafood dishes. The journalist does not refuse exotic meat delicacies.

Krylov’s hobby, revealed during long-term business trips, is hunting. In the country house in the Moscow region, which Dmitry and Tatyana built for themselves, a special room is reserved for trophy exhibits. In it you can see hunting exhibits and exotic souvenirs, for example, a real Mayan calendar.

Dmitry Krylov with his wife

Dmitry Krylov has developed an official website. Internet users can find a lot of useful information about the TV presenter on the Internet resource: biography, photos, videos. The journalist does not have Instagram.

Dmitry Krylova’s height is 170 cm, and the man weighs 62 kg.

The importance of personal space

The couple decided to live together when they built a spacious country house in the Moscow region. For the first time in his life, Dmitry was involved in such a project and on the way to realizing his plan, he had a lot of trouble with the builders. But when the move took place, he truly appreciated the charm of country life, although he decided not to sell the apartment in Moscow, just in case.

According to Tatyana, she spent a long time preparing mentally for a new stage in her relationship with Dmitry. Intuition told the woman that after so many years of guest marriage, it would not be easy for them to be together. And Barinova turned out to be right, for the first three years she and her husband learned to live as a real family, and the new experience was difficult for both.

True, Dmitry never completely abandoned the idea of personal space. In his home, and on all business trips, he prefers to have a separate bedroom, where he can be alone, alone with himself and his thoughts. Such division, unfortunately, does not contribute to reconciliation in moments of quarrels. And they, of course, happen to spouses. Tatyana admits that, having quarreled, she and Dmitry may not speak for weeks. Like a real woman, over time she learned to give in and in most cases is the first to approach.

The spouses' children from previous marriages have grown up long ago. Barinova’s heir works as an operator in the “Bad Notes” program. Krylov’s son graduated from the Stroganov Art School and works in the field of design. As a child, the TV presenter often took him with him on trips around the world. Dmitry and Tatyana regret a little that they never decided to have a child together. They put off this idea for a long time due to active and exciting work associated with frequent moves. According to Barinova, having a common heir or heiress is the key to a completely different life together, the next stage of rapprochement in marriage, but, alas, this happiness did not happen for them. Otherwise, everything is going smoothly, smoothly, and calmly for the spouses. Krylov is happy with his fourth wife and only regrets that he was unable to find his soulmate on the first try. According to him, if he had to go through his life path again, he would immediately marry Tatyana for the first and last time.

Dmitry Krylov now

Dmitry Krylov has a lot in common with this hotel: the man worked in the concert hall of the establishment for 11 years, and had a wedding with his second wife on the 21st floor of the Rossiya. In an interview, the TV presenter shared that he watches the serial film with a special attitude and look. According to Dmitry Dmitrievich, there is a lot of truth in the series and little that is fictitious.

Krylov could not help but comment on the series “Trotsky” and “Demon of the Revolution”.

TV presenter Dmitry Krylov
