BIOGRAPHY
Irina Lachina was born into a creative family. Her parents are famous actors Svetlana Toma and Oleg Lachin. The father died when the girl was only eight months old. Mom often left for filming, and at that time the child lived with his grandparents.
Irina was an excellent student, languages were easy for her. After school, she could enter any institute, but for a long time she could not decide on the choice of profession. At first she worked at the post office, and then got a job as an editor at a film studio.
One day, Vsevolod Shilovsky came to visit the family, who at that time was going to shoot the film “Wandering Stars”. He offered Irina a small role as a deaf-mute girl, and she gladly agreed to come to the audition. “A month later the call came. Mom answered the phone. I heard that Shilovsky was calling, but from the conversation and the expression on my mother’s face I realized that I should not play the deaf-mute. Shilovsky asked me to come to the phone. After asking how things were going, he said: “You won’t play. I approved you for the main role.” At that moment, I experienced incredible joy and terrible fear from the responsibility that had fallen on me,” recalls Irina. The actress admits that it was after this film that she finally decided on her choice of profession.
Irina Lachina entered the Shchukin School (course of A. Shirvindt) and successfully graduated in 1993.
Biography of Irina Lachina (actress)
The biography of Irina Lachina is closely connected with the world of theater and cinema, as well as with the creative atmosphere. Ira was born in Balti, Moldova, but considers herself a truly Russian girl. She lived in an interesting family, in which the parents appeared at home only on major holidays.
Father - Oleg Lachin - a famous Soviet actor who was educated at the Chisinau Institute of Culture and served for a long time in the Russian Drama Theater of Tiraspol. At the same time, he acted in films only in episodes; he died tragically in 1973, when he was barely twenty-six years old. The actor helped start a motor boat, and then was hit by a boat and died from severe blood loss.
Mother - Svetlana Fomicheva-Toma - was also an actress with a capital A, she graduated from the same institute as her lover, and also served in the same theater. She has starred in a huge number of films and TV series; the works “The Camp Goes to the Sky” and “My Affectionate and Gentle Beast” require special attention.
Little Irishka was a diligent student, but at the same time she was known as a real robber who was friends with the boys. She wanted to be a translator, actress, journalist or writer, so she did not go to college right away, but decided to work as an editor and journalist.
THEATER
When the actress was a second-year student at the institute, the director of the Sovremennik Theater Galina Volchek invited her to the play “Anfisa” based on Leonid Andreev. Irina admits: “Since then, I consider Galina Borisovna my godmother in the profession. Thanks to her, I learned the basics of acting not only at the institute, but also on the stage of the famous theater. I had the chance to rehearse with Marina Mstislavovna Neelova.”
Irina actively collaborates with enterprises. She played in the plays “Big City Scams”, “Family Idyll”, “Love is Blood”, and many others.
MOVIE
The next work after the film “Wandering Stars” was the role of Lena in Sergei Mikaelyan’s film “The French Waltz”. After her there were roles in the film “Inferno” and the TV series “Strawberry Cafe”.
"In Christ's bosom"
Irina’s first significant work was the role of Marusya in the Polish film “In Christ’s Bosom.” The actress recalls: “In Poland I learned what film fame is. The film “In Christ’s Bosom” was a great success at the Polish box office, even taking first place in the box office. At the National Festival in Gdynia I received the Grand Prix for the best role. I addressed the audience in Polish with gratitude for the recognition and gave a whole speech. In those days, naturally, I found myself in the center of attention of Polish journalists, I had many interviews and articles with pleasant reviews. In one of them I was even compared to the legendary Audrey Hepburn.”
"Lady Bum"
Irina gained national fame for her role as Lizaveta Basargina in the television series “Lady Homeless.” The picture had high ratings, and Lachina began to be recognized on the street. The actress recalls: “There were no auditions as such. There was an interview with director Marina Migunova. As soon as I saw her and we started talking, I immediately realized that this was my person. And later they called me and said that filming would begin on such and such a date. Then Marina told me that everything was decided by my eyes, which contain magnetism.”
The series "Lady Homeless" became the first part of a detective trilogy. Soon the creators released a sequel - the multi-part films “Lady Boss” (2001) and “Lady Mayor” (2002).
"Heavy Sand"
In 2008, Anton Barshchevsky’s film “Heavy Sand” was released - an adaptation of the great novel by Anatoly Rybakov. The main role in the film was played by Irina Lachina. The actress says: “To be honest, in my acting life there have been few films where I really wanted to act. “Heavy Sand” by Anton Barshchevsky is one of them. I was happy when, after the audition, I was informed that I had been approved for the role of Rachel Rakhlenko. I spent almost a year filming. Such a plot is the dream of all actors. I lived the role. I lived Rachel’s whole life on screen – from a young girl to an elderly woman. Its story begins at the beginning of the twentieth century and ends during the war. There was true love in her life. And this love is being killed.”
To date, the actress’s filmography includes about 50 films. Lachina starred in the films “Protected Persons”, “Legend No. 17”, “Dog Work”, “Yurochka”, “Crew”, and others.
Career
Working on the film “Wandering Stars” became both an acting school and a test of strength for Irina. Her partners on the set were such Soviet cinema stars as Stanislav Sadalsky, Olga Kabo, Tatyana Vasilyeva and others.
And it was very difficult for the girl, who had absolutely no experience working in front of the camera, to meet their high level. But she tried, and the film turned out well.
Even after her screen debut, Irina still had doubts that she was talented enough to continue acting. But she was supported by all the actors with whom she worked, and the girl went to Moscow to enroll in the famous Pike. She managed to pass the exams surprisingly easily, and she became a student in Alexander Shirvindt’s course.
It is interesting that after graduating from college, for a long time she was better known as a theater actress, who played very successfully first in the Taganka Theater, and then, at the invitation of Efremov, moved to Sovremennik. She continues to appear on stage today, but mainly in enterprises with which she tours throughout the country.
Before 2000, she appeared on the silver screen only twice - in 1995 and 1998. Moreover, the film “In Christ’s Bosom”, shot by Polish filmmakers, received an honorary prize at the prestigious festival in Gdynia, but few Russians saw it, so it did not bring fame to the actress in her homeland.
She became famous after working on the series “Lady Homeless,” where she managed to create a very complex and multifaceted image of the main character. Actually, I didn’t have to play anything special. In fact, she was in front of the camera the lady she always wanted to be - bold, daring, but at the same time very feminine and romantic. The success was consolidated by two parts of the sequel: “Lady Boss” and “Lady Mayor”.
After that, the actress was literally bombarded with offers from film directors, but now she chose only those roles that could touch some inner strings. Therefore, all the heroines she embodied on the screen are very different, interesting, and even the viewer always feels some kind of sympathy for her negative characters. To date, the actress’s filmography includes more than 20 films.
A TELEVISION
The actress took part in the “Circus with the Stars” project on Channel One. Lachina did not immediately agree to participate in the show: “Before that, I took part in the Stars on Ice project and got injured there. I was then asked to leave before the start of the performance. But I couldn't give up before I even started. We skated the program completely. When the circus called me and offered to take part in a new project, I thought it was a joke. I've never played sports. I took dance classes and stage combat at the institute, but this was not enough. After the second offer, I finally decided to try it. Maybe I was bribed by the fact that the coach promised that I could give up everything at any moment. Later I realized that my injuries were the norm for circus performers. And I stopped paying attention to them.”
Television projects and future plans
Irina Lachina is a very active person. She doesn't sit still, because her hot blood and crazy energy make her try more and more new genres. Athletic and flexible, she takes part in dance shows and demonstrates acrobatic talent.
Her love for roller skating and roller skating is known to many of her fans. Irina, her mother Svetlana Toma and daughter Masha respect sports very much, practice together and do not accept any diets. An active lifestyle, the absence of bad habits, sincerity and goodwill are the key to beauty and health, this is a family culture and a family slogan.
Irina does not like to reveal her creative plans. She only admits that she will never make a clear choice between cinema and theater. She is at a time when fame and reputation already allow her to choose roles on her own. This freedom is very valuable for an actress with such crazy energy as Irina. Movement is life, and these words apply not only to sports and everyday life. Playing the same roles, stopping development and stopping testing yourself for strength is a killer scenario for Lachina as an actress and a person.
IN LIFE
Irina Lachina prefers to spend her holidays surrounded by family and friends. She admits: “For me, vacation is when the whole family goes somewhere. I love to travel and when I was a child, when asked about my future profession, I answered: “I want to work as Senkevich.”
Recently, the actress took up an exciting hobby - decoupage. In her free time from work, she decorates interior items and has already decorated all the doors in the house. Irina is excellent with tools and can fix anything. “Thanks to my grandfather, I know how to saw, plan, and chop,” admits the actress.
Personal life of Irina Lachina (actress)
The personal life of Irina Lachina has never been seen in any scandalous events or whirlwind romances. The fatal beauty was quite shy and was not ready to take married men away from the family or to be a mistress, although such rumors and gossip often circulated on the Internet.
Irina claims that her first and only man in the actress’s life was her husband. At the same time, again and again, evil tongues talked about how the young people were facing divorce, but Ira and Oleg repeated the same thing: you won’t get it.
INTERVIEW
About the profession
“My profession is my life. Pretentious? Maybe. I am sure that if a person does what he loves, he is a priori happy, because he is fulfilled and internally stable. And if he is unloved, then it always seems to him that life is passing him by and he deserves better.”
About the series
“Unfortunately, I have not yet been offered “my” roles in full-length films, which I could say that I would play. And so they suggested that I would never play. In TV series there is something more acceptable, so I agree. You have to somehow keep in shape, live, earn money. But there has been no real joy from what we have played in recent years. I don't disdain TV series. Among them there are also good serial films, such as “The Idiot”, “Border. Taiga novel." TV series today are the most powerful means for an actor to be recognized.”
About love
“In general, over time, I realized that love is a feeling that transforms. Love has many faces. It’s like a crystal that turns towards you with different faces every time.”
About money
“My husband and I have developed a formula for ourselves once and for all: there is always exactly as much money as you need. If it seems that there are few of them, then there is no need to panic. We must try to relax and enjoy the situation as it exists. I’ve trained myself to do this.”

“And then there was a lot of mysticism...”
- Was there really nothing to scold you for?
- What do you! Sometimes I behaved like a complete selfish person. I wanted everything to be just my way, and I was annoyed when my cousin Christina (four years younger) imitated me. I shouted: “Repeat fly!” - Grandma was angry. I was told that the younger ones are weaker and should be given way to. And I didn’t understand why. I thought they loved Christina more, and I was terribly jealous. No one could curb my wayward character. One day, not wanting to go to kindergarten, I hid in the yard in a box with gas cylinders. The relatives searched the entire house. Realizing that now they would crawl into the box, I quietly jumped out of there, flew into the house like a bullet and climbed under the chair. There was a sewing machine on it, with a huge blanket hanging from it. I sat there for quite a long time, after which I hid in my crib, where the bed linen was folded, and, huddling against the wall, fell asleep. It was terrible! Everyone decided that something had happened to me, my grandmother felt bad, and they had to call an ambulance. When I woke up, the house smelled of medicine. And then - the only time in my life - my grandfather tore me with a belt. Knowing that I was guilty, I endured the spanking in silence...
I studied surprisingly well and even graduated from school with a medal. But when I came home from class, I had a blast. As much as I could. In a word, she lived a double life. My sister and I rushed around the yard, ran through garages, climbed over fences. I felt like a little robber from the fairy tale “The Snow Queen”; Gerda was not interesting to me.
- Ira, you don’t tell anything about your father...
“As soon as I started speaking, I, like my mother, began to call my grandfather daddy.” But when I was about four years old, she explained that this was wrong, and in response to my reasonable question: “Where is daddy?” - said that he died. However, I didn’t feel the absence of a man in the house - my grandfather replaced my father. Looking at the photographs, I perceived my dad detachedly, although sometimes I felt an acute sense of pain from the fact that I would never be able to talk to him. If I asked something, my mother answered, but she herself did not start talking about my father. His death was a heavy blow for her, memories were not easy. And even now, after so many years, the scar remains.
When my dad died, I was 8 months old. Like his mother, Oleg Lachin was an actor. They studied together in Chisinau, and together they were assigned to the Tiraspol theater. It all happened there... My mother went with me to my grandmother in Balti, and my father stayed at home and one day decided to ride a motor boat. I went to the middle of the river. But then a hydrofoil boat suddenly took off at great speed... An absurd death... Dad was a handsome man, a good actor. Mom loved him very much. But they were destined to live together for less than three years. Such a fate... And there is a lot of mysticism in what happened next.
