And this is not a complete list of invited wedding guests. Hollywood stars, actors, pop singers and close relatives came to sincerely congratulate Keith and Rose on the beginning of a new stage in their lives.

Kit Harington: I write poetry in my spare time—I suspect it’s bad.

The life of this actor, who plays the handsome Jon Snow in the series, is like a fairy tale. He was born into a family with a very good pedigree (the Barons Harington were the heirs of King Charles II), at the age of 18 he moved from provincial Worcestershire to London, graduated from the Central School of Speech and Dramatic Art, and after a couple of years he got into the casting of “Game of Thrones.”

“I realize how lucky I am,” Keith says. “Many of my peers have been unemployed for years after college. This, of course, hardens them, but I’m glad that I didn’t get to experience it.

“On the streets of London they won’t let you walk two steps—that’s how popular you are.” Don't you get tired of this? - Not at all. If I get tired, I’ll have to change my field of activity. You see, actors are all exhibitionists who crave attention. Some didn’t have enough of it in childhood, while others, on the contrary, were given so much of it in childhood that they can no longer stop. I fall into the second category. I’m not even offended that fans call me Jon Snow.

— Do you somehow communicate with fans? — From time to time I gather my courage and answer paper letters, which are kept in bundles in my London apartment. Sometimes they send me gifts and toys. Recently they sent me a Japanese doll, you know, the kind that you put on your hand. It was made in the form of Jon Snow. Sometimes at festivals I see people dressed like my character. Girls periodically ask me to marry them - what guy would refuse such attention? (Laughs.)

— Does working in such a long-running series affect the number of missed opportunities in other projects? — Of course, especially when you have to film for at least six months a year. There were a lot of movies and TV shows that I turned down because of Game of Thrones.

— If you went back in time, would you agree to play Jon Snow again? - Certainly. This role changed my life. On the set I met friends - Richard Madden (played Robb Stark - Ed.), Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy), Emilia Clarke and, of course, Rose Leslie (Ygritte). The latter and I spent most of the second and third seasons together filming in Iceland and became very close. It was hard to say goodbye to her. Both my character and I myself were very worried about this separation.

Rose Leslie, who played the role of the savage Ygritte in Game of Thrones, became Harington’s lover both on screen and in life.

— Is it easy to maintain friendships with actors who have dropped out of the series? “It’s difficult because they have new worries.” Richard Madden, for example, just starred in Cinderella, but I always knew that Robb Stark would make a great prince! (Laughs.) We saw him just the other day and went to a bar. This is the beauty that you meet in different parts of the world without seeing each other for a long time, and you have something to tell each other.

— It’s probably scary to read the script for the new season, not knowing who will die in it this time? — In the last season, I was very upset when I found out that the character Grenn, who does not die in the book, died. I was terribly upset because I had already become friends with Mark Stanley, who played him. It also wasn't easy losing Paipara (Joe Altin) and Ygritte. Up to and including the fourth season, I read all the scripts and books. But in the fifth season, I decided to read only my part. I was wondering how much the series would captivate me as a regular viewer. Today, by the way, in the hotel corridor I ran into young actors from Game of Thrones whom I had never met before! And they also came for interviews with journalists. I was told that we employ a total of 300 actors, not counting extras. It seems to me that we have definitely become the most expensive and large-scale television project in history.

— I heard that in the new season Jon Snow begins to engage in political intrigue. Could you compare Jon Snow to modern politicians? - If John became British Prime Minister, I would vote for him! (Laughs.) But these days politics has become such a specific profession that there are few people who speak from the heart. John doesn't want to be a politician. He is being pushed to do this. This season he's talking more than ever. He was never a chatterbox or idle talker, and politicians need these qualities. He is a soldier, a commander, and this is what he should do.

— Does power attract him? “He is less susceptible to this than others and, it seems to me, that’s why he’s so popular among fans. There is a lot of nobility in his actions.

- He seemed to have ambitions as a ruler... - They had already evaporated. He already carries a large burden and does not want to put even more on his shoulders. He lost his uncle, father, brother, stepmother. He considers two sisters dead. The girl he loved also dies. I personally would go crazy if this happened to me in reality.

— You once complained that in “Game of Thrones” there is a lot of naked female bodies, but men are not allowed to boast of a toned torso... — I changed my position after the last year of filming (laughs). There are a lot of naked torsos, muscular guys, lightly covered with skins or blankets. Yes, we don’t undress completely, but I’m even glad about that.

— Is it true that you forbade your agent to bring you roles with horses, swords and armor? “It seems to me that I have already closed this question in Game of Thrones.” At a certain point, all the scripts that were brought to me were medieval fantasy. I'm too young to stagnate in one image.

In the horror film Silent Hill 2, Keith's partner was Australian Adelaide Clemens.

— Do you have any clauses in the contract regarding appearance? “I can’t cut my hair or shave my beard while filming Game of Thrones.” This, of course, imposes restrictions on other roles.

— The melodrama “Memories of the Future” will soon be released in Russia. Are you also long-haired? — The film was filmed in parallel with the fifth season of Game of Thrones, so I had to tuck my hair under the wig.

— What do you do during breaks between filming? — I try to travel. I love secluded places in Europe, France and Scandinavia. I also read and write poetry a lot. My parents say they are good, but I suspect they are flattering me. Now I'm looking for a new hobby. Although this is difficult - I wanted to improve my piano playing skills, but then I realized that the tutor would see me about once every three months. ?

Christopher Catesby HARINGTON was born on December 26, 1986 in London in the family of a screenwriter and a teacher. The boy was named after the English poet Christopher Marlowe (Keith is an abbreviation for Christopher in Britain). From 11 to 18 years old, Keith lived with his parents in Worcestershire (on the border of England and Wales), then entered an acting school in London. He became famous for his role as Jon Snow in the series Game of Thrones. He also starred in the films “Silent Hill 2” (2012), “Pompeii” (2014), “Seventh Son” (2015), “Memories of the Future” (2015), voiced the cartoon “How to Train Your Dragon 2” (2014) . As often happens in the film environment, the on-screen romance between Jon Snow and Ygritte grew into a real relationship between the actors. Still would! Just remember the scene where Keith and Rose had to play naked.

Harington and Leslie have been dating since then. At first they hid their relationship, but in 2020 they realized the pointlessness of it and appeared together everywhere. In September 2020, they announced their engagement. Almost a year of agonizing anticipation for the wedding has passed. And finally, it happened!

The British media got wind of the fact that the wedding will take place on this Saturday in June. The Game of Thrones stars decided to get married in the family castle of Rose Leslie in Scotland. Yes, not only does Kit Harington have very high origins (the actor is a descendant of King Charles II), but so does his fiancée.

Rose comes from the ancient Scottish clan Leslie, and is the great-granddaughter of Simon Fraser, Lord and Baron Lovat. Her ancestors include military and political figures. Their family, among other things, owns two family castles: Lickleyhead in Aberdeenshire, built in the 15th century, and Wardhill in Aberdeen, dating back to the 12th century.

Rose's parents provided her with Wardhill Castle as a venue for the celebration, which the family, scary to say, has owned for 900 years (the family lives in the second castle). This estate has everything you need for a ceremony. No one will disturb them - around the field and land. There are two ponds nearby. Plenty of space for a tent. There is also a church for weddings.

This castle is the best thing you can imagine for getting married. Rich and lucky people pay a lot of money to have a ceremony there - in recent years, the estate has been rented out specifically for weddings. And Rose herself grew up in this castle, so everything is symbolic.

Leslie’s neighbors, who have been watching the active preparations for the celebration for several days, let it slip that everything will take place here. In addition, the paparazzi have already caught the Game of Thrones actors at the local Aberdeen airport. Among them are Sophie Turner, Jack Donnelly, Malin Akerman, Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage.

For the sake of this wedding, Keith, who continues to play Jon Snow, even asked the creators to pause the filming process for a while, because it was important to him that everyone he wanted to see at the wedding could come.

And this is what Harington said when he called the producers to negotiate a temporary freeze on filming: “I’m getting married - it’s your fault.”

Snow married a Wildling. The favorites of millions, actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie got married in an ancient Scottish castle with a century-old history.

Keith and Rose in 2020

In 2020, many sources of information spread rumors that Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie decided to get married. However, the actors themselves were surprised and denied this information. But, judging by rumors, in the same year, Keith made a romantic proposal to Rose by candlelight, inviting her to get engaged. The girl burst into tears from excess feelings and gave her consent.

Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie immediately began preparing for the upcoming wedding: for this they rented an ancient castle in Scotland. According to media reports, the ceremony was to be held in Scottish style. But, nevertheless, the information about the engagement again turned out to be false. The actor's representative said that the relationship between the lovers is excellent, but they do not yet plan to radically change their lives.

Personal life of Rose Leslie

The most colorful moment in Rose Leslie's personal life was her whirlwind romance with Kit Harington. It began almost immediately after filming began on Game of Thrones. The couple soon realized that sharing scenes brought them great pleasure, and began to openly enjoy each other's communication.

The scriptwriters noticed this and tried to add as many episodes featuring the couple to the series as possible. But at the end of the summer of 2013, a split occurred between the lovers. The young people broke up, although they decided to remain friends. Perhaps it was the beauty Emilia Clarke, who was seen more than once in the company of Keith at social events.

But, obviously, these feelings between the lovers have not faded away. At the beginning of 2016, the actors appeared in public together again. Once the couple was spotted on a date in one of the London restaurants, and then they were seen at Los Angeles airport.

But Kit Harington and Rose Leslie officially announced themselves as a couple only in April 2020, at the Olivier Awards ceremony, organized by the London Theater Society. Rose and Keith held hands and posed for photographers. Some paparazzi even managed to film them kissing on the red carpet.

In June 2020, the actors played a colorful wedding in Scotland. The bride wore a lace dress from Elie Saab, and the guests were all the couple's friends from Game of Thrones.

As for Rose Leslie's hobbies, the actress goes in for rock climbing, archery, and loves to eat, although she watches her figure. When Leslie was a child, she didn't like her red hair because she was the only red-haired girl in her class. Having matured, the girl appreciated her advantage, because her hair often helps Rose get great roles and stand out from the crowd.
