Irina Lobacheva was born in Moscow into a simple family. The girl's father worked as an electrician, and her mother worked as a gynecologist. None of the figure skater’s relatives had anything to do with sports or art.

In 1979, Lobacheva began training at an outdoor skating rink under the guidance of Natalya Dubinskaya. At the age of 12, Irina already participated in her first international figure skating competitions. After this, the coach insisted that the young athlete move to the Dynamo dormitory.
Throughout her childhood and almost her entire adolescence, Ira trained and competed as a single figure skater. Later, her knees began to suffer, and she could not effectively perform complex tricks and jumps. As a result, Lobacheva was transferred to pairs figure skating - the so-called ice dancing.

The future figure skater was born on February 18, 1973 in the city of Ivanteevka, Moscow region. Irina Lobacheva graduated in absentia from the Moscow State Academy of Physical Culture. Irina Lobacheva also has a second higher education. She received it at the Moscow State Humanitarian University named after M. A. Sholokhov.
Irina was often sick as a child. Doctors recommended introducing the girl to sports. And at the age of 6, the parents sent their daughter to figure skating. At first, Irina did single skating. Personal life
The figure skater met her husband Ilya Averbukh at the age of 7. They trained together with the same instructor. Lobacheva’s personal life did not improve immediately. Later, Irina met a young businessman who was 7 years younger than her. The relationship lasted a year and a half, but one day, while going down the stairs, the man suddenly died of heart failure.

On December 18 of the same year, Shumakov, for unknown reasons, decided to commit suicide. When Irina Lobacheva came to pair dancing, she began skating with Oleg Onishchenko. The duet existed for a year and a half. Alexey Pospelov became the next partner on the ice rink, but the team didn’t work out here either.
In 1992, Lobacheva paired up with Ilya Averbukh, who had a breakdown in understanding with his partner Marina Anisina. Skaters began to constantly find themselves in the top three in Russia, became champions many times and showed excellent results at international championships.
