Anna Shatilova's childhood and family
The girl Anya was born four years before the start of the war near Moscow.
Dad fought, but in 1941 it became known that he was missing. Many years later, Shatilova learned that he died in 1943 in a concentration camp. Mom worked in an orphanage, which was full of orphans who became such during the war. Anya grew up very active. She has been reciting poetry from the stage since she was five years old. At school, performances by amateur groups were not complete without her. After graduating from school with excellent marks, the girl became a student at the Pedagogical Institute. She studied physics and mathematics. Despite the fact that her studies were easy for her, studying higher mathematics was not at all interesting.
Anna Shatilova staged a showdown on the air Quite by accident, having read an announcement at the institute about recruitment for broadcasting courses, she was among the five hundred applicants for the position of announcer at the State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. The competition was not easy, but Anna was accepted. It should be noted that only five people were accepted, two of whom later dropped out. True, it was first accepted on radio and only in 1962 on television.
Childhood
Anya was born in the village of Shikhovo in the Odintsovo district of the Moscow region on November 26, 1938. Her maiden name was Solomatina.
Four months after the war began, her dad went missing. For almost sixty years Anna Nikolaevna did not hear anything about her father. And at the beginning of the 21st century we managed to find out his fate. Shatilova filled out a form, where she wrote everything she knew about her dad, and the People’s Memory Foundation found him. It turned out that Nikolai Solomatin was captured, kept in the Zeithain camp near Leipzig, and died there in 1943.
Anna Nikolaevna went to this place. There in the forest there is simply an area fenced with barbed wire, and a memorial has been erected. And nothing more - not a single name, not a single inscription, but in that land lie 33,000 Soviet soldiers. Shatilova said that it was the most emotional and difficult moment in her life. It’s quiet, calm all around and the birds are singing, and the thought that her dad lies here in the ground. When they began to drive away, a bird appeared from somewhere in front of the wheels of the car and began jumping on the ground, not allowing them to move on. Anna believes that the bird was the soul of her father, which after so many long years has finally found peace.
During the war years, Anna's mother worked at the Shikhovsky orphanage as a cook. Children who were left orphans during the war were taken there. I took my daughter with me to work all the time. There Anya met an amazing woman, an incredibly creative person who worked as a teacher in an orphanage. She learned two poems with the little girl - the patriotic “Ballad of Zaslonov and his adjutant Zhenya” and the lyrical “Birch Tree”. Anya read them on stage from the age of five, which contributed to the natural production of her voice.
There were no televisions then; at the Solomatins’ house there was a black radio dish hanging on the wall. When she was just a little girl, Anya stopped in front of her with bated breath and listened to the voices of radio presenters Dmitrieva, Levitan, Vysotskaya, who stood at the origins of the profession. Having learned that these people were called announcers, the girl could not remember the word exactly and told everyone that when she grew up, she would definitely become a “dictator.”
After the war, Anya and her mother moved from the village to the city of Zvenigorod, where the girl went to secondary school No. 2. From elementary school, she took an active part in all school events, concerts and amateur art shows.
The beginning of Anna Shatilova's career on television
Shatilova’s teachers were excellent announcers of those years - Yuri Levitan and Olga Vysotskaya.
Another famous announcer became Anna’s mentor - Vladimir Gertsik. After Shatilova became an announcer, she transferred to another department at her own institute - the philology department, and graduated from it in absentia.
Anna Shilova has always been an example for Anya. Looking at her, she learned how to dress, how to make a simple thing look elegant.
Anna Shatilova - one of the first announcers of Soviet television
Once on television, Shatilova became its face for many years. She hosted many entertainment programs, news programs, and reports from demonstrations, holiday processions and festivals.
Career
What helped her find herself was when Anna Shatilova accidentally saw an advertisement for a recruitment of radio announcers. Without thinking twice, she decided to try her hand. She was lucky enough to be one of those selected from hundreds of other candidates.
The commission included the legendary Yuri Levitan, whose voice was known throughout the country: “From the Soviet Information Bureau...”. Shatilova graduated from the Pedagogical Institute, transferring to the correspondence department not of physics and mathematics, but of philology.
Anna Shatilova's main activity was her work on the country's central television. She liked what she did. To be one of the main announcers of the country, to present news happening in the USSR and abroad from the TV screen is very honorable and responsible.
But the loads were also great. Not everyone was able to withstand such a rhythm, accompanied by nervous stress. But Anna knew that this was her calling, so she coped with all the difficulties.
And there were a lot of them. How many times has it happened that there is minimal time left before the start of a news program, and TASS is still proofreading the text. And only at the very last moment they bring it. However, the TV viewer should not have even suspected all such working moments. Only the announcers knew how much worry it all cost them.
Three-hour reports by the General Secretary of the CPSU Central Committee L.I. Brezhnev also had to be read live. By the way, the All-Union announcer was never a member of the party.
On the day of her 75th birthday, Anna Nikolaevna admitted that she did not want to teach the Charter of the “leading and guiding force of Soviet society” because of her own laziness. Although she could easily retell the necessary paragraphs, because at work she had to memorize dozens of pages of different information.
Anna Shatilova will remember her first working day on television for the rest of her life. Filming of the live broadcast has already begun, people in the studio are waving at her, and the audience sees a young announcer looking around.
After some confusion, she said hello, and then everything went well. The fact is that none of the employees bothered to explain that the start of broadcasting is the sign “microphone on” that lights up.
Anna Shatilova's work in Japan
In 1973, Japan decided to broadcast a program called “Speak Russian” on one of its channels.
They needed a presenter with a Slavic appearance. It was decided that Shatilova would go. She remained non-partisan all her life, yet she was entrusted with this mission. By this time, the announcer had already worked on television for eleven years. The first time she was abroad, Anna wore what she had, without really thinking about it. However, I drew attention to the Japanese women who wore headscarves, scarves, and snow-white shirts. In Japan, she was the face of the USSR. There were many trips and interesting meetings. Later, Shatilova’s husband advised her to write a book about this period of her life.
Evening Urgant - Guest Anna Shatilova Anna lived in Japan for a whole year. She returned from there with her own style of clothing. Since then, the announcer has always appeared in a blouse with a raised starched collar; her clothes always included the color red - a red jacket, a red scarf or something else. Shatilova claims that she feels uncomfortable if there is no red element in her outfit.
Anna Shatilova's husband - Alexey Shatilov
The popular television presenter met her future husband in her youth. In an interview, she admitted that she fell in love with a young man the first time. Their meeting took place at a student celebration. The guy didn’t approach Anya right away. Then he admitted that he did not dare, afraid of hearing words that were unpleasant for himself.
Only a year later Anya heard the desired words about marriage. The wedding was noisy, student. Anna Shatilova's husband, Alexey Shatilov, immediately took a liking to his wife's mother. He communicated normally with her until the woman passed away.
Alexey raised his son to be a real man. He showed how to treat your wife. Anna Nikolaevna always heard tender and affectionate words addressed to her.
At the beginning of the 2000s, the TV personality’s beloved husband fell seriously ill. They turned to doctors. But all the efforts of the medical staff were in vain. Our heroine's husband passed away. He is buried in one of the capital's cemeteries. Anna Nikolaevna often comes to his grave and remembers her husband with kind words.
Shatilova is a popular announcer
For the first time in the Vremya program, the announcer read the news together with Evgeny Suslov. At first, there were no announcers in the frame; in addition, they didn’t even see the program’s plots, they only heard commands to read slower or faster through their headphones. Because of this, there were many overlaps and inaccuracies. There was no talk of any improvisation. This was a big minus. Even when there were hiccups, the program presenters were forced to remain silent. It was forbidden to address the audience to explain the reason to them, since these words were not in the texts.
TV presenters Anna Shatilova and Igor Kirillov
Until 1995, Anna Nikolaevna remained an announcer on the Ostankino TV channel. Then she worked on Channel One as an announcer.
Key achievements
Anna Nikolaevna's voice is familiar to everyone. The sound of this voice accompanies military parades for the great Victory Day, the annual Blue Lights, and the news feeds of the Vremya program. It is already perceived by consciousness as an integral reality of radio and television broadcasting. Meanwhile, the owner of this unique voice, filling with a sense of solemnity and celebration, is already 80 years old. The biography of Anna Shatilova has always been inextricably linked with the history of the country. She became a broadcaster in 1962 and has since achieved national recognition and many awards. In 2011, President Dmitry Medvedev solemnly presented her with the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, III degree.
Other awards:
- 1959 - medal “For the development of virgin lands.”
- 2006 - Order of Honor for his great contribution to the development of domestic television and radio broadcasting and many years of fruitful activity.
Anna Shatilova today
For many years, Shatilova worked in a creative union with Igor Kirillov.
Anna Nikolaevna has been on television since 1962, but he came there five years earlier. People were so used to seeing them together that they sometimes asked to record some kind of corporate congratulation in the style of an episode of the Vremya program, which they once hosted. To preserve his deep, clear voice, the announcer always tunes it in a special way before a performance. This method can be called psychotherapeutic. She always reads tongue twisters and does this both in the elevator and while climbing the stairs.
CT announcer Anna Shatilova Anna Nikolaevna always monitors new announcers on domestic television. Most of all, she liked Zhanna Agalakova, but she left for Paris. Now she watches the work of Vitaly Eliseev and Ekaterina Andreeva, and Shatilova also likes Irada Zeynalova. She considers her a brilliant correspondent.
Relation to the viewer
Soviet television announcers were taught that you need to respect the viewer. Even when I had to read some alarming news, I used the intonation of my voice to give some kind of hope. It was impossible to rush into people from the screen, but to be welcome in every home. Today, according to Anna Shatilova, TV does not spare its viewers at all, pouring out a lot of different negativity.
Because of this, some citizens prefer not to be interested at all in what is happening in the country and the world. News programs, all of them, begin their reports with high-profile murders, terrorist attacks, military conflicts and tragedies. And all this is presented emotionally, sometimes with horrifying details, so that the viewer doesn’t even want to live after watching it.
Like no one else, Anna Shatilova can appreciate the contrast that has occurred on television compared to what it once was. It is impossible to imagine how much control there was over announcers in the Soviet Union.
A mistake in entering the frame incorrectly or making a mistake during a live broadcast resulted in dismissal from work. Modern presenters have no idea about that harsh operating regime. They have nothing to compare with.
After Anna Shatilova finished work at 10 pm, she received the program script from the editor, who taught until 2 am. Then, live on the next day, everything had to be reproduced verbatim to the audience. Moreover, there is no ad-libbing, everything is just as written.
The famous announcer says that on modern TV everything is easy: you don’t need to memorize anything, the necessary information is prompted through headphones, the teleprompter lines are in front of your eyes. Complete freedom, you can say whatever you want.
The unique timbre of Anna Shatilova’s voice was repeatedly heard in reports from parades on Red Square, festive demonstrations on May 1 and November 7, as well as festivals, processions and other public events.
Personal life
Anna Shatilova was accustomed from her early youth to rely only on herself in everything and not to depend on anyone. She is categorically against plastic surgery, which has disfigured many artists. All her cosmetics are at home - baby soap, sour cream instead of face cream, contrast shower.

Family life for the TV presenter turned out well. She married Alexei Borisovich Shatilov, with whom she lived her whole life. The husband was a very educated person, well versed in issues of culture and art. Therefore, there was always a pleasant and sublime atmosphere in the house.
In 2009 he passed away. Anna Nikolaevna has one son, Kirill, and two grandchildren, Vsevolod and Svetoslav (you need to write it correctly - from the word “light”). Kirill Borisovich writes books and tutors at home. He is fluent in several languages. Shatilov often took her eldest grandson with her on trips around the country.
One of the most elegant television presenters likes to spend her free time at her dacha. She is an excellent cook and always prefers fresh dishes. Channel One greatly appreciates Anna Shatilova, turning to her services from time to time. Her work record has been there for 55 years. Together with Igor Kirillov, they are still the faces of this channel, they are paid a salary.

He graduated from MISS, worked as an engineer, and was a huge connoisseur of classical music, painting and literature.
They met in 1964. Then Anna Shatilova rented a room with her friend Lyusya, who was just studying at the construction university. One day, Lyusa needed to give Alexey some textbooks - in general, their first meeting took place on the bus. Alexey immediately showed interest in Anna and asked for her phone number.

It was Anna Nikolaevna’s husband who instilled an interest in knowledge in their son Kirill. By the way, Kirill graduated from the Romano-Germanic department of Moscow State University, specializing in French, English and Danish. He is a translator and writer. Several textbooks on the English language have been published from his pen, and he also writes fiction books in the fantasy genre.
My son has had a family for a long time; Shatilova’s daughter-in-law Alina is from Stavropol. She is a philologist by training, but does not work in her specialty. Her main “work” is her children Vsevolod and Svetoslav, her husband Kirill and their home. Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law have a wonderful relationship. Together they go to the dacha and prepare all kinds of dishes from vegetables grown on the plot.

Announcer and TV presenter Anna Shatilova
The secret of her beauty is truly simple: instead of face cream, she uses sour cream, to which she adds salt, honey or lemon juice. Instead of doing fitness at home, she does gymnastics, and when she wakes up, she massages her entire body from fingers to toes. She also practices Nordic walking. She does not drink alcohol or nuts, as this negatively affects her voice.
It is noteworthy that, despite her popularity, Shatilova continues to use public transport, you can easily meet her on the subway, she communicates a lot with people and truly loves life.
