How sports stars entertain themselves during isolation
Athletes, like all Russians, during the period of isolation due to coronavirus are forced to sit at home, training within four walls and entertaining themselves and fans in every possible way. Ruposters has collected posts from social networks of Russian sports stars in which they show how they are spending quarantine.
Gymnast Alexandra Soldatova showed her Instagram followers how she trains at home, chooses a bow, gets out of bed “like a gymnast” and closes the closet door in an unconventional way.

Mike Tyson
The world boxing star lost from $300 to $400 million due to divorces from wild parties and exotic entertainment. Now Mike, participating in various television shows, is paying off his huge debts.
Apparently, big money helps reveal hidden human vices; what do you think?
Russian sports stars speak out about Moscow street protests
Most athletes living and working in Moscow reacted to the protest activity with bewilderment. For international-class athletes who regularly visit foreign cities, it is obvious that Moscow is now at the world level, if we compare our city with such traditional “lights” of urban civilization as London, Paris and New York. The city does not have to blush in front of the Asian megacities - Tokyo, Singapore, Shanghai. All that is needed to consolidate the successes of recent years is years of quiet life, allowing us to build advanced infrastructure for all districts of Moscow. And that is why destabilization of the situation is now absolutely unacceptable, the athletes believe.
“I travel a lot, mostly during the competition schedule,” says gymnast, world champion Arthur DALALOYAN, commenting on the situation. “I’m wildly upset by what happens in the city center on Saturdays. You know, it seems to me that in order to freely express one’s thoughts, there is no need to create provocations, there is no need to attract unreasonable teenagers and put them in the vanguard, there is no need to provoke clashes with the police. The most correct thing to do is to act like civilized, cultured people, according to the law, and not against it and by any means. Moscow is the best city in the world, and the best people live here. Kind, educated and worthy of the beauty that surrounds us.
Let us remind you that in Moscow, since mid-July, two large sanctioned protests took place (each gathering about 20 thousand participants) and several smaller, but illegal ones, which ended in the detention of participants. The police behaved extremely correctly at the coordinated rallies and the first of the unauthorized rallies on July 14, but resolutely suppressed attempts to escalate street protests.
“Once again for those who may not understand or do not want to understand what is happening now in Moscow on Pushkinskaya and Sakharov,” notes Olympic champion in freestyle wrestling David MUSULBES. — There are no peaceful marches, there are forces trying to shake up the political situation through supposedly harmless calls, through attracting out-of-town radicals, through funding from overseas. Has this already happened somewhere? Yes, in neighboring countries, and more than once. Think before you go anywhere or join the leaders of the protesters. What do you have now, what city surrounds you, what has been done over the past decade - and what will you get in return. By the way, the protesters do not promise anything to Muscovites, because there is nothing: they are simply stirring things up because someone told them so, someone taught them so. Dangerous games. Provocations are beyond the bounds of the law. This is a crime, not an election. If there is anywhere to take risks, it’s in a game; where to gather, it’s at the stadium; what to do, it’s better to do sports!
“Unfortunately, many of the participants and fans of the Moscow protest are victims of skillful and massive propaganda,” says Arthur DALALOYAN. “Most people are not ready to look at the situation from the other side, even for a second,” the athlete complains. - So saturated with negativity and anger that it really looks like a zombie crowd of people who in any way want to destroy what other people have been building for many years. And the main thing is that no one even understands the specific purpose of all this and what awaits them in the end. Starting a riot so that everyone can hear how bad you feel is not the best way to solve your problems. And even more so, what kind of human relationship do you expect when you yourself initially act dishonestly? The main sign that many are influenced by the agitators of this whole party is that everyone on social networks says the same words and no one has a specific formed opinion. This is very sad and offensive."
“Our city is very fond of tourists who admire everything that is here,” says two-time world swimming champion Anton CHUPKOV. — And we admire how our city is becoming brighter! City Day is coming soon, there will be a lot of holidays in every district! Most of the leaders of Russian and world sports are Muscovites. And I really don’t want any troubles or bad events to happen in our hometown; I love my city and I want all Muscovites to love and respect it!
Alexander Karelin
This classical style wrestler is a Soviet and Russian sports star. In sports circles he was called Alexander the Great. He is included in the list of the 25 best athletes of the 20th century in the world, and his name is also included in the Guinness Book of Records, since in thirteen years he did not lose a single fight.
His homeland is the city of Novosibirsk. At the age of 13, Alexander began training in Greco-Roman wrestling. His coach was Viktor Kuznetsov. He became Alexander's only coach during his entire sports career. Karelin is a three-time Olympic champion, nine-time world champion, and twelve-time European champion. He fought more than 880 fights, of which he lost only two.
The most athletic actors in Hollywood
On August 11, Thor star Chris Hemsworth turned 35, and on this occasion we remember the main hunks of Hollywood.
Chris Hemsworth
Chris Hemsworth became famous for his role as the young god Thor. The filming promised not only a multimillion-dollar fee, but also weight manipulation, because Thor’s body was supposed to become divine. Therefore, the actor had to sweat a lot - Hemsworth did strength exercises every day and followed a special diet. Everything would have been fine if the filming of the second part of “Thor” had not coincided with the biopic about James Hunt, the slender Formula 1 racer. Then Chris had to gain and lose weight. Now the celebrity recalls this experience with horror, but all is well that ends well - today the actor is considered one of the main athletes in Hollywood, and his form is still close to perfection.
Tom Cruise
Who would have thought that Tom Cruise, 170 cm tall, is capable of such feats - the actor works entirely without doubles and stuntmen, doing the most dangerous stunts in action films at his own risk. Of course, there were some setbacks here too - Tom received serious injuries more than once, due to which he had to postpone filming for a long time. But now the actor independently controls the plane, jumps on rooftops and can walk without security even through the night gateways of Volgograd - he won’t let himself be offended.
Jason Statham
“I don’t go to all these rich gyms with modern exercise equipment,” says Jason Statham, and he’s not lying. He has loved sports since childhood - his father Barry was fond of martial arts and has been practicing martial arts practically since he was a cradle. Good physical shape determined the career of the future Hollywood star - in the 1990s, Statham signed his first contract with a fashion agency and became the face of the Tommy Hilfiger brand. It just so happened that the owner of the brand began producing Guy Ricci’s film “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and recommended Statham for one of the main roles. He passed the casting and has since been one of Ricci’s close friends; together they practice Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Tom Hardy
The 40-year-old actor also began his modeling career. He became a muscleman during preparation for the filming of The Dark Knight Rises, where he played the massive Bane. For the role, he had to not only build muscle mass, but also gain real strength. However, Hardy managed to avoid the fate of a one-day star and stand out from the background of all Hollywood musclemen. The actor has a lot of serious roles to his name, take projects such as “The Revenant”, “Legend”, “The Drunkest District in the World”.
Channing Tatum
While still at school, Channing played American football, basketball, baseball, participated in the athletics section and even practiced martial arts. After college, Channing received a full athletic scholarship to attend Glenville State College, but declined. The future star wanted to earn money, so he looked for himself in different professions, working as a builder, a mortgage broker, an assistant in a veterinary clinic, and even as a stripper. For Channing, chance decided everything - after moving to Miami, he caught the eye of a model scout. Shooting for Vogue, advertising campaigns for Giorgio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, American Eagle and commercials for Pepsi - his career took off and it is unclear whether he would have been able to conquer Hollywood or not if not for his brilliant modeling career. His path to big cinema began with a cameo role in the series “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” and acting success came to him in 2006 after the comedy “She’s the Man,” a free adaptation of Shakespeare’s play “Twelfth Night.” In it, Tatum established himself as a talented actor who knows how to make the audience laugh.

Sergey Bubka
The pole vaulter has become a bright sports star in Russia. Most of his records were set during the Soviet period. Sergei is the first person in the whole world who managed to conquer a six-meter height with a pole. For ten years, no one could beat his record. And so far no one has even been able to repeat the triumphant result of 6 meters 14 centimeters in the open air.
Currently lives in Ukraine.
Larisa Latynina
This absolute Olympic champion, absolute world champion is a Russian sports star. This is the most titled athlete. The gymnast is considered the strongest Olympian of the twentieth century. Over the entire period of her performances at the Olympics, she received 18 awards. Until 2012, no one surpassed the athlete in their number. In addition, in 1957, at the European Championship, Latynina was awarded a full set of gold awards.
After leaving sports, Latynina began teaching. She has the title of Honored Trainer and Worker of Physical Culture of the Russian Federation.

Seriously, I have two serious workouts a day and I thought I was a machine. And I’ve really improved a lot in 3 months of general physical fitness, muscles, endurance and strength,” Aisulu shared on her Instagram page.
Let us remind you how Kazakh celebrities prepared for the summer.
Victory Day in the focus of sports stars
In recent years, we have often heard May 9th from the mouths of liberal figures: “this is not a holiday, but a sorrow,” “why waste money,” “stop saber-rattling,” etc. What is the reaction of Russian athletes to modern life, are they for the most part part of our society or do they follow fashion trends from abroad? We found answers to these questions on their social networks on May 9, Victory Day.
Spartak goalkeeper Artyom Rebrov and his children went to the “Road of Life” alley in Strogino, where he laid flowers near the monument and, looking at the children, wrote about the memory of the war - “Remember and pass on from generation to generation.”
Remember and pass on from generation to generation! Thanks for the victory!!! Happy holiday on May 9th. Hurray! Hurray! Hurray!!! #Victory Day2018 #9 May

Russian middleweight boxing star Sergei Kovalev flew from the States to Moscow these days. The number of his posts on social networks on the topic of May 9 turned out to be so large that it is impossible to consider them all. Usually our stars limit themselves to one picture and general words of congratulations. Kovalev published mini-films created by the Russian Boxing Federation about boxers who took part in the Great Patriotic War, as well as a separate post with the capture of the Reichstag and several more congratulatory messages. As a result, the adventures of Sergei Kovalev on Victory Day ended with the “Immortal Regiment” action, which he also told all his readers about and once again congratulated the veterans.

Separately, I would like to note the new superstar of world lightweight boxing, Ukrainian boxer Vasily Lomachenko, who, while on a visit to the United States, published a photo on May 9 with one of the monuments to fallen soldiers and the Eternal Flame. Under the photo, Lomachenko wrote a text in which he reminded everyone of the well-known covenant - not to forget veterans on days other than Victory Day. Considering the latest political battles in Ukraine and the attempts of the authorities to multiply the holy holiday for Ukrainians by zero, the same sports stars from Ukraine continue to honor the memory of their ancestors, and the call of blood turns out to be higher than the modern political situation.
They won't read your statuses. They won't appreciate your Photoshopped ribbons on their avatars. They don't live in a virtual world. They live in the real world, where when they go out into the street, they beg for alms and ride the subway while standing... Say thank you to them where they will hear. And not only on May 9. People who did not spare their lives to defend their Motherland during the Great Patriotic War are those from whom all subsequent generations, without exception, should take an example. The exploits of these people should never be forgotten!

Russian boxer Dmitry Kudryashov, originally from the Cossacks, living in his native Volgodonsk, published a video segment of the program telling about one famous story - how the USSR boxing champion Nikolai Korolev became a partisan and saboteur, repeatedly participated in contact battles with the Germans, received many awards and medals along with serious injuries, and upon returning from the war, he regained the title of national boxing champion.
⠀ Nikolai Fedorovich Korolev (1917 - 1974) - an outstanding Soviet boxer and coach, participant in the Great Patriotic War, partisan, nine-time champion of the USSR, four-time absolute champion of the USSR, champion of the III Summer Workers' Olympics in Antwerp 1937, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR. ⠀ When the war began, Korolev was enlisted in a separate special purpose motorized rifle brigade. In one of the battles, the detachment commander was seriously wounded - Korolev put him on his shoulders and carried him. Having come under fire, he saw that the fire was coming from a camouflaged bunker. Having laid down the commander, he raised his hands and slowly walked towards the enemy. The Nazis decided that the partisan was going to surrender, and they let him into a bunker in which there were six Nazis. Having improved the moment, Korolev knocked out three, and grabbed the rest, grabbing a machine gun, and shot them. A couple of hours later he brought the commander to the operating table, his life was saved. For this feat, Korolev was awarded the Order of the Red Banner. ⠀ We remember and are proud of our boxing heroes #rememberproud

In the finale of our assessment of publications on May 9, sports stars cannot be ignored by our colleagues from “Soviet Sport”, who managed to write a tweet “Kursk did not surface” at the end of the final match of the Russian Cup between “Tosno” from the Leningrad region and Kursk “Avangard”. “Tosno” won the game, and the production editor apparently decided to joke. The management's reaction followed - with apologies and assurances of the inevitable punishment of the perpetrators. In turn, a number of people directly related to the sport could not restrain themselves; we can see their reaction below.
TV presenter Dmitry Guberniev also could not restrain himself and published his opinion about the current situation: “You know, friends, there are colleagues, and there are Scum!!!!”

MMA fighter from the Industrials team Alexey Makhno spoke out even harsher, dreaming of meeting with the author of the text about Kursk, and he guaranteed a bad continuation of the “collaboration”.
It seems this world is going crazy. Today the final of the Russian Football Cup took place between Tosno and Avangard, where the Kursk team was defeated. After that, on the huge information resource Soviet Sport @sovsportru, the following tweet was published. I would gladly meet with the “author” of this text and I guarantee that he would definitely not have surfaced, and this even taking into account the fact that shit does not sink. #sport #Sovietsports #football #Russia #Moscow

Not a single Victory Day holiday is complete without scandals, intrigues and provocations; it is a pity that this time the instigators of such incidents were people related to Russian sports. We took a short look at the civic consciousness of our athletes; many of them, perhaps, do not have much knowledge in politics, history and traditions, but at least they are moving in the general trend, because Victory Day is a holy holiday for Russians and Russia.
Nikolay Andrianov
This gymnast is one of the most decorated Olympic champions. Has fifteen Olympic medals. Of the thirty awards received in world and European championships, seven are gold medals.
