Dua Lipa was born on August 22, 1995 into a family of ethnic Albanians who moved to England in the nineties. Her childhood was spent in England, but in 2008 the whole family returned to Kosovo after independence from Serbia was declared.
Her father was a former rock musician, so the girl fell in love with music from a very early age. At her elementary school, Dua was told she wouldn't be in choir because she couldn't reach the high notes. After that, she studied in a theater studio, after which she began to feel more confident on stage.
At the age of fourteen, she began posting her favorite songs of Christina Aguilera and Nelly Furtado on YouTube. This was her first small victory and a certain fame in the Internet community.
