Vladislav Borisovich Galkin is a famous Russian film actor, with a short but vivid biography, who lived his life with a “pure heart and open soul” - this is what his closest friend Mikhail Zakharov said about the actor. Perhaps there is no better way to say it. His unexpected death became a tragedy for millions of Russian television viewers. There are several versions of the reasons for the death of Vladislav Galkin.

Vladislav Galkin. “Truckers”

Vladislav Sukhachev was born on December 25, 1971 in the town of Zhukovsky near Moscow. He received the surname Galkin at the age of 10 after the marriage of his mother, actress and playwright E. Demidova, to the famous director and actor B. Galkin . Vladislav did not know his biological parent. The stepfather became a real father and friend for life for the boy and his younger sister Maria.

Cardiomyopathy

39-year-old Vladislav Galkin, whose cause of death, officially announced, raises doubts among many, suffered from inflammation of the pancreas and was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. However, this disease is not fatal, even if it is chronic. The death certificate says: “Died of cardiomyopathy,” which means “sudden cardiac arrest.”

Pathologists suggest that acute heart failure could have occurred as a result of alcohol poisoning, since a significant dose of alcohol, more than 3.2 ppm, was found in the blood of the deceased actor. The version of death from an alcohol overdose, against the background of a general weakening of the body, was considered first. Thus, Vladislav Galkin, whose cause of death for a long time bore signs of uncertainty, was declared dead from heart failure.

Vladislav Galkin cause of death, funeral

Vladislav Galkin, cause of death, funeral - these questions agitated the public long after the artist’s death. The official cause of death was sudden cardiac arrest. Galkin's grave is located at the Troekurovsky cemetery. By searching “Vladislav Galkin in the coffin photo”, you can find photographs from the farewell ceremony for him. Today, 8 years later, the official version of the investigation into Galkin’s death is being questioned by his stepfather Boris Galkin, who claims that Vladislav could have been killed for personal gain. But the investigation stands its ground - an overdose of alcohol and, as a result, a malfunction of the heart. The case also includes a suicide note, which turned out to be written by Vladislav’s mistress. In general, there are many gaps and secrets in this story, which perhaps time will shed light on.

What friends said

However, at the insistence of relatives, a criminal case was opened to find out the true causes of the actor’s death. Vladislav’s close friends told the investigator about his unstable mental state recently. However, depression, disappointment, loss of meaning in life - all these factors could become a reason for suicide, but the fact of suicide was not established. Thus, actor Vladislav Galkin, whose cause of death was officially recorded in the relevant documents, died a natural, non-violent death. The honored artist left a worthy legacy for his descendants, these are his roles in films.

Vladislav Galkin's wife - Daria Mikhailova

The artist’s fourth and last marriage turned out to be the most successful. Vladislav Galkin’s wife, Daria Mikhailova, is an artist, a teacher by training, and a screenwriter and director. She became his destiny. They met and got married in the late nineties. And after that they never parted.

Vladislav Galkin and Daria Mikhailov lived a happy life together. They did not have common children. But together they raised Daria’s daughter from her first marriage, Vasilisa.

It is known that Vladislav Galkin and Daria Mikhailova, the artist, decided to get a divorce, but did not have time to formalize the divorce.

First screen tests

Vladislav Galkin, whose biography is not very diverse, was born and raised in the Moscow region, the city of Zhukovsky. The actor's father is Boris Sergeevich Galkin, a famous film actor, his mother is Elena Petrovna Demidova, an actress, film playwright and screenwriter.

The star family gave Vladislav a start in cinema when he was a boy. Grandmother, Lyudmila Nikolaevna Demidova, took her grandson to a screen test. Director Stanislav Govorukhin liked nine-year-old Vlad, and he took the boy to play the role of Huckleberry Finn in the film “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.”

Star Trek Artist

At the age of 9, Galkin played in Valery Govorukhin’s film “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.” The latter was portrayed on screen by Vlad. The role turned out to be very organic, the boy’s talent was noticed. From that time on, he began to receive filming offers. After some time, the boy played the leading role in the film “That Scoundrel Sidorov.” Three years later, the film “The Golden Chain” with the participation of the young artist was released.

Galkin was very interested in filming, and he decided to become a professional actor. After school he entered the Shchukin School. Later, Vlad will study with master Vladimir Khotinenko at VGIK.

In the early 2000s, Galkin gained enormous popularity and confidently began to climb the career ladder. He starred in dozens of films. In 2009 he was awarded the title of Honored Artist. The actor also repeatedly became a nominee and winner of the Golden Eagle, Nika, and Teffi awards. The artist was also awarded for creating authentic images of victorious warriors on the screen. In 2011, Galkin was posthumously awarded the Golden Eagle prize for one of his last paintings called Kotovsky.

Theater Arts School

After school, Vlad entered the Shchukin School of Theater Arts, and upon graduation, he submitted documents to VGIK. At the institute, young Galkin studied on the course of Vladimir Khotinenko.

Vladislav Galkin, whose biography opened up new pages, matured early. With all his love for his parents, the young man sought to find personal space. Soon he announced to his parents that he wanted more independence, left home and began to live alone, although he met with his mother and father almost every day, came to visit them and invited them to his place.

Having become a professional actor, Vlad began acting a lot in films, and also periodically took part in theatrical productions. He loved his work, and she loved him in kind - the actor Galkin soon gained fame, and they began to invite him to lead roles. The first truly serious work for him was the character of officer Tamantsev in the film “In August 1944.” The actor managed to penetrate the spirit of that time, the image he played turned out to be reliable and convincing.

Personal life

The actor’s personal life includes four marriages. Galkin admitted that he was always a very amorous person. But he always called his fourth wife, actress Daria Mikhailova, his true love. The artist met her while working together on the play “The Brothers Karamazov”.

The young people got married in 1998. The artist did not have any children in this marriage either. He raised his daughter Mikhailova.

In 2009, discord came in the relationship between the spouses. The actor became addicted to alcohol, and later started a new romance. Daria Mikhailova did not forgive this and left. The artists never had time to formalize the divorce: on February 25, Galkin passed away.

Truckers

Vladislav Galkin’s next film work brought him wide fame; it was the series “Truckers,” in which he played a duet with film actor Vladimir Gostyukhin. Vladislav himself considers this series his finest hour. From the first shots, he organically got used to the image of truck driver Alexander Korovin, whom everyone called “Sashok.”

The 20 episodes of Truckers are separate stories set in different genres. Among them are action films, thrillers, melodramatic stories and lyrical comedies. During the filming, Vladislav Galkin, the actor, reincarnated countless times. He even came up with a universal suit “for all occasions” in order to change clothes less on the set; these were overalls and a Panama hat. Vladislav’s partner, actor Gostyukhin, changed clothes five times a day, changing jackets, shirts, and T-shirts.

Other films

This was followed by another work - the role of the special forces soldier "Yakut" in the TV series "Spetsnaz", as well as the creation of the image of officer Sergei Vysik, appointed after demobilization from the army to the position of head of the criminal investigation department of one of the Moscow region departments, in the thriller film "Beyond the Wolves" .

In 2004, Vladislav Galkin starred in Vladimir Khotinenko’s film “72 Meters”, playing the role of senior midshipman Mikhailov. In the same year, filming of the TV series “Truckers 2” began. This was a continuation of the adventures of Fedor and Sashka, stretching over 12 episodes.

Professional life

After graduating from VGIK, Vladislav Galkin became closely involved in cinematic activities. He acted a lot and played a large number of roles. It is worth mentioning the most striking films with his participation:

  • "In August '44..." Vladislav was awarded a special diploma from the film press at the festival of international significance “Listopad” (2000). He was also awarded the prize of the “Brigantine” competition in the category “Best Actor” (2001). In 2002, the Nika Prize was awarded for the same film.
  • "Truckers." For his masterful performance in this film, Vladislav received the Golden Eagle award in 2003. She was also awarded to him for the films “Saboteur” (2006) “Saboteur. The end of the war" (2009).
  • "Beyond the Wolves." In 2003, Galkin was awarded a nomination for “TEFI”. In 2006, the situation repeated itself, but the film was different, new, “Cazarosa.”

In 2009, Vladislav Galkin was awarded the international award Golden Order “Peacemaker” and awarded the title “Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.”

On February 27, 2010, Vladislav was found in his apartment. There are still a lot of rumors and speculations about his death. But he still lives in the hearts of grateful moviegoers.

Director Bortko and actor Galkin

The following year, 2005, director Vladimir Bortko invited Vladislav Galkin to play the role of the poet Ivan Bezdomny in his film “The Master and Margarita” based on the novel of the same name by Mikhail Bulgakov. The character was complex; deeply psychological subtext accompanied the role throughout the entire film. The image that Vladislav had to get used to required complete dedication, and most importantly, Ivan Bezdomny was the complete opposite of the truck driver Korovin, so Galkin had to radically rebuild all the life priorities that he had managed to develop during the production of “Truck Drivers.” I must say that the actor coped with the task brilliantly.

Film career

By the age of eighteen, Vlad already had a sufficient track record of working in cinema, so he did not have to choose a profession; she herself chose Galkin much earlier. He continued to act, and at the same time he became a student at the Shchukin Theater School, taking a course with Albert Gurov. In 1994, Vlad decided that acting education was not enough for him, he would really like to shoot melodramas himself, so he transferred to VGIK to the directing department in the workshop of Vladimir Khotinenko.

All his classmates loved him; he did not show in a word or gesture that he was already an accomplished actor. I went to classes and exams with everyone else.

By the beginning of the 2000s, Vlad played several roles, which gradually began to bring him popularity:

  • car service worker Tolik in the comedy “Face”;
  • driver Vladik in “The Princess on the Beans”;
  • district police officer Alyosha Podberezkin in the Voroshilovsky Strelka;
  • Zhenya Shakhnovich in “Kamenskaya”;
  • Evgeny Kalinkin in Maroseyka, 12.

Real fame fell on the actor in 2001 after the release of the war film “In August 44th...”, where he played one of the main roles of senior lieutenant Evgeny Tamantsev. The mature filmography of actor Vladislav Galkin began with this picture. The stepfather was amazed by Vlad’s performance, how he was able to penetrate the spirit of wartime, which was familiar to him only from books and Soviet films.

In the same 2001, Galkin literally fell in love with the whole country when the television adventure series “Truckers” started, where he played the main role of Alexander Korovin. His partner in this film was actor Vladimir Gostyukhin. Vlad later admitted that in “Truckers” he was able to try himself in all film genres (action, lyrical comedy, thriller and melodrama), because each new episode was like a separate film.

After these two films, Galkin’s star status was firmly established; he was offered only leading roles, sometimes called to play minor characters, but very bright ones:

  • district police officer Sergei Vysik in the detective series “Beyond the Wolves”;
  • senior lieutenant Yakov Urmanov, nicknamed “Yakut” in the “Special Forces”;
  • Vitaly Stupin in “Plot”;
  • midshipman Mikhailov in the film “72 Meters”;
  • Grigory Kaltygin in “Saboteur”:
  • head of district counterintelligence in "Death of an Empire";
  • young Svechnikov in “Kozarosa”;
  • poet Ivan Bezdomny in “The Master and Margarita”;
  • surgeon Alexander Gordeev in the film “I’m Flying”;
  • screenwriter Valery in “An Imperfect Woman”.

The series with Galkin’s participation had such high ratings that their sequels had to be filmed (“Truckers 2”, “Spetsnaz-2”, “Saboteur. End of the War”).

One of the actor’s last works was the hero of the civil war, Grigory Kotovsky, in the historical series “Kotovsky” of the same name. Initially, they planned to film two parts - one about young Kotovsky, the second about the war years. But the death of Vladislav disrupted these plans. Vlad said goodbye to the audience in the melodrama “Love in the Manger”; the film was released when the actor was no longer alive.

His work has been repeatedly awarded with prestigious awards - prizes at international film festivals, the Nika Award, the Golden Eagle Award, and the medal "For Faith and Goodness." In 2009, Vlad was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia.

Filmography

The first “adult” work was the film “Voroshilovsky Shooter” by Govorukhin, where the artist got the role of Alexei, a law enforcement officer. Master Mikhail Ulyanov became a partner on the set.

Two years later, the filmography was replenished with another excellent work. In the film “In August 1944,” Galkin played Lieutenant Tamantsev. Vladislav did heroic and courageous images surprisingly well, and in subsequent years he would play the roles of brave and strong men more than once.

The actor gained real popularity when the film “Truckers” was released. In it, Galkin played the main role along with Vladimir Gostyukhin. Galkin really liked working in this movie: the film was a mixture of different genres and required versatile acting. In 2001, the series was shown on screens, and then the artist woke up famous.

“In August 1944” is another one of Vladislav’s first paintings, which was a brilliant success for him. His lieutenant Tamantsev turned out to be a very solid and reliable character. The actor perfectly got used to the role in the wartime era.

The artist was excellent at portraying images of strong personalities. In 2002, the television film “Special Forces” appeared in the filmography. In it, the man got the role of a special forces soldier nicknamed Yakut, which he brilliantly embodied on the screen. At the same time, Vlad plays another person in uniform: in the film “Beyond the Wolves” he turns into the head of the criminal investigation department.

In 2004, there were significant works in the films “72 meters”, “Truckers-2”. Viewers also saw the actor in the military film “Saboteur.” Later, Galkin will star in the sequel “Saboteur. End of the War.” The artist’s popularity was gaining momentum: now his photo was often on the posters of new films.

In 2005, the artist touched the classics. He starred in the role of Ivan Bezdomny in the film “The Master and Margarita”. The character of the colorful poet was conveyed superbly by Galkin, which critics have repeatedly noted.

In 2006-2008, films featuring Vladislav were released: “I’m Flying,” “Petrovka 38,” “An Imperfect Woman.”

The last year of takeoff was 2009. The actor worked with all his might, as if he was trying to do everything. Viewers saw him in the films “The Serpent’s Lair” and “Dirty Jobs.” The 4-episode film “I Am Not Me” was released after the artist’s death. One of the last works was the painting “Kotovsky”. Vlad played a hero of the civil war. In this image, all the talent of the actor was fully revealed. The painting “Love in the Manger” was the last work of Vladislav Borisovich.

Alcoholism in the life of Vladislav Galkin

In the acting environment, it is not customary to give up drinking; often vodka or cognac increases the artist’s tone, he opens up, plays with talent and depth. Much depends on the amount of alcohol you drink, because it’s difficult to resist.

In 2009, Vladislav Galkin starred in the film “Kotovsky”. Filming took place in the city of Yaroslavl, and Vlad tried to come to Moscow on weekends. One day, on the way from Yaroslavl, the actor went into a roadside bar, not far from Moscow. He asked for vodka, drank one, then several more glasses. Perhaps he had not yet emerged from the role of Grigory Kotovsky, whom he played on the set. It can be assumed that the actor, like his character, believed that everything was allowed to him, and the recklessness of the folk hero Kotovsky was somehow transferred to him. Galkin lost control of himself and demanded more and more drinks. And when the bartender reprimanded him and refused him another glass of vodka, Vlad became indignant, took out a traumatic pistol and began firing anywhere. The police were called and tried to subdue the hooligan actor, but to no avail. In the end, Galkin insulted one of the law enforcement officers, hit him several times, and was arrested for this.

First work in cinema

Director Stanislav Govorukhin was going to stage the film “The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn” based on the works of Mark Twain. Among hundreds of candidates for the role of Huck, he selected Vladislav, and it turned out to be 100% accurate. Vlad didn’t have to get used to the role, he played himself. The result is a very interesting character - on the one hand, a hooligan, but very charming boy, on the other, a small man who has already formed his own views on life.

Mom was shocked when she found out that her son would act in films. She was even more struck by the behavior of her grandmother, who usually loved to chat, but here for six months she kept the secret that she was taking her grandson to castings. His mother was categorically against Vlad getting involved with cinema and acting. She knew all the ins and outs of this profession and wished a better fate for her child. For Vlad himself, filming a movie turned out to be very interesting. After all, for almost eight months it was possible not to go to school, but to travel around Caucasian villages and different cities (Odessa, Kherson, Sukhumi).

After the film was released in 1981, the boy wanted to act in more films, but there were no offers. Once he was invited to an episode in the film “Dunno from Our Yard,” and then there was a lull for two whole years. The child was constantly waiting for a phone call, and ran to pick up the phone himself in the hope that it was some of the director’s assistants calling him.

And he waited. Vladislav was invited to play the main role in the children's film “That Scoundrel Sidorov.” By this time, his stepfather Boris Galkin had already appeared in his life, and the boy went with him to Arkhangelsk to the film festival, where the premiere of the film took place. The child was very worried, but after watching it, his stepfather said that he really liked the work, and Vlad would make a good artist in the future.

After this film, Vladislav no longer had to be on duty by the phone, he was filmed often, it happened that two films with his participation were released in a year:

  • 1984 - younger brother in “Cargo without markings”;
  • 1985 – boy-driver in the film “There Lived a Brave Captain”;
  • 1986 – punk Mussolini in “Ransom” and Sandy Pruehl in “The Golden Chain”;
  • 1987 – hooligan in “Son” and Artyom Zhukov in the film “On My Own Land”;
  • 1988 – Borka Khromov in “Aborigene”.

Probation

Vlad’s father Boris Galkin had to rescue his “unlucky” son from prison. A criminal case was opened regarding disobedience to the police, then a trial was held, and Vladislav Galkin received a year and a half. The sentence, however, was suspended, but the actor became even more popular thanks to this story. However, after all the shocks, prison and trial, Vlad began to get sick. Chronic pancreatitis worsened, the disease continued until the very moment when Vladislav Galkin died. The actor died alone and lay on the floor in his apartment for several days until he was discovered.
