Childhood and youth

Tatyana Kotova was born on September 3, 1985 in the Rostov region. He spent his childhood in the village of Sholokhovsky, 190 km from Rostov-on-Don. The parents did not live richly, their daughters Tanya and Katya were not spoiled, each found a use for her talents on her own. Tatyana is an artistic girl, interested in fashion and watching her figure. Katya concentrated her energy on her studies and pleased her parents with straight A's.

Dad instilled a love for sports in both daughters; it all started with mandatory morning exercises. As a teenager, Tatyana Kotova did the splits and performed other complex gymnastic tricks. At the same time, she also attended the boxing section: the girl learned self-defense techniques.

A talent for creativity manifested itself in Kotova from an early age: the girl participated in matinees and concerts and dreamed of being on stage. Tanya's main hobby is singing and choreography. The young artist stood in front of the mirror for hours, portraying a singer or oriental dancer. Costumes for impromptu performances were in closets with old clothes, which the girl recut and altered. Kotova’s acquaintances say that she would have made a fashion designer, but Tanya dreamed of becoming a singer.

In 1998, a beauty contest was held in Sholokhovsky. Tatyana Kotova applied for participation and was right: the jury appreciated the artistry, plasticity and vocal abilities of the girl, giving first place and the title “Miss Autumn - 98”.

After school, Kotova entered the university, but her chosen profession - anti-crisis manager - did not combine in any way with creativity. Therefore, during her student years, skit shows and amateur fashion shows were an outlet for the artist.

Tatyana lived in a hostel far from her parents' house. There wasn’t enough money, so she worked part-time at a fitness club, teaching oriental dancing. During the classes, the flexible beauty (height - 175 cm, weight - 56 kg) was noticed by representatives of the Image-Elite modeling agency and invited to master classes.

Kotova, having studied the basics of the modeling business, took part in beauty contests. In 2006 she received two titles - “Miss Rostov” and “Miss Russia”. Victory in the latter opened the door for the girl to participate in Miss World and Miss Universe. Tatyana did not win, but she made a name for herself in the modeling business.

"Miss Russia - 2006". From 2008 to 2010 – soloist of the group “VIA GRA”. In March 2010 she began her solo career.

Born on September 3, 1985 in the village of Sholokhovsky (Rostov region).

Tatyana began participating in beauty contests while still in school, despite her mother’s strict warnings. After school, Tanya entered Rostov University, the Faculty of Economics. In her third year, she was accidentally noticed by the head of a modeling agency in Rostov-on-Don and invited to attend a master class. The girl began to actively study at a modeling school. After several months of study, she received an offer to take part in the “Best Model of the South of Russia” competition, where Tatyana entered the top five. Soon she was invited to take part in the fight for the “Crystal Crown of Crimea”, where she received the title of vice-miss. Then there was a victory in “Rostov Beauty” and, finally, the title “Miss Russia 2006”.

The winner was chosen by the audience, and Tanya received more than half the votes. Tatyana became the owner of the title “Miss Russia”, a crown made of 750-carat white gold, studded with 85 garnets, 27 pearls and 1574 diamonds and won the main prize of 100 thousand dollars.

The titled beauty did not find herself in the shadows after her victory. She began to actively participate in world competitions and prove herself in the field of show business. And here chance and luck played an important role. “Meseda Bagautdinova called me,” Tatyana recalls. “And she asked if I would like to try myself in a team.” Then the blonde’s position was vacant. Of course I want! It was a new challenge and I accepted it. Of course, I understood that if I passed the casting, I would have to work day and night. After all, I had no experience in the music scene.”

In March 2008, Tatyana Kotova became a member of the popular Ukrainian-Russian group VIA Gra. Tatyana’s debut video was the video “I’m not afraid,” in which she starred with the rest of the group members. Tatyana successfully joined the group. The girl developed her vocal abilities every day. And the many hours of lessons with teachers did not pass without a trace, her voice sounded more and more confident. She herself became more confident, and two years later Tatyana felt the strength to start solo swimming.

“Before I told the producer about my departure, I thought about my decision for a long time, doubts did not let me sleep - will I be able to be a flower in the middle of a field, and not in a bouquet? – says Kotova. “Of course, it was scary to go into the unknown. But only the brave conquer the seas!”

The solo career route was laid out without delay. Tatyana Kotova immediately accepted the invitation of director Vasily Mishchenko to play a business woman in the serial feature film “And happiness is somewhere nearby.” Her partners were Igor Vernik, Sergey Astakhov, Elena Safonova, Natalya Gromushkina. Stage skills and inexhaustible hard work helped me to join the acting field. The series will soon be shown on one of the central TV channels. And Tatyana Kotova is already receiving new offers from famous directors.

Currently, Tatyana Kotova is actively involved in many creative projects. Living a solo lifestyle allows her to express herself in both the music industry and cinema. The debut song “He” was written for the artist by Irina Dubtsova, and the most sought-after and talented director today, Alan Badoev, worked on the creation of the video of the same name.

TATYANA KOTOVA IN "VIA GRE"

In 2008, Tatyana accidentally heard about a casting for the place of Vera Brezhneva, who left VIA Gro, and decided to try her hand. The bright and graceful girl charmed the producer of the sexy trio, Konstantin Meladze, and on March 17, 2008, Tatyana Kotova was announced as the third soloist of the group along with Meseda Bagaudinova and Albina Dzhanabaeva.

The singer worked for VIA Gre for two years. During this time, she managed to star in the videos “I’m not afraid”, “Antigeisha” and other videos for hit compositions, she had her own fan club, but in the spring of 2010, an avalanche of news hit the singer’s fans - the girl decided to leave VIA Gro. . The media immediately rushed to spread rumors about a conflict between the participants, but Kotova explained this by the fact that within the team she lacked individual creative growth. The place of the ex-soloist was taken by the bright Ukrainian Eva Bushmina.

Solo career of Tatyana Kotova. New Beginnings

So, in the spring of 2010, the girl set out on her own and began a solo career. Her first “independent” composition was the song “He”, written by Irina Dubtsova. The single was released in September 2010. A little later, a video for the song “Red on Red” was released.

At the same time, Tatyana Kotova made her debut as an actress - she starred in the series “And Happiness is Somewhere Nearby” with Igor Vernik and Irina Lachina in the leading roles. The role was minor - Tatyana had to play businesswoman Ksenia Morozova. However, she did not develop a career in cinema, as, for example, Vera Brezhneva or Zhenya Malakhova did. Later, the list of her roles was supplemented by participation in the comedy “What Men Do! 2" (2015), but the film itself failed at the box office.

“And happiness is somewhere nearby”: Tatyana Kotova as Ksenia Morozova

However, the singer also tried herself as a TV presenter, for example, in the spring of 2010 she was a co-host of designer Max Chernitsov in the “Fashion Ambulance” program, broadcast on the Muz-TV channel.

In between filming, Tatyana worked hard on her solo repertoire, came up with stage characters, and even acted as a producer of her own performances. In 2012, the song “In the Games of the Nights” was recorded, and the video for this composition caused a rather unexpected reaction from the audience. Many did not like the explicit erotic scenes, so the clip was re-edited for television broadcast. And, to the surprise of most TV viewers, he made it into the Top 10 on MTV. The songs “Violet Summer” (2013) and “Infidel” (2015) were slightly less popular.

SOLO CAREER

In September 2010, the singer opened a new chapter in her creative biography: she began a solo career. Tatyana Kotova independently selected the repertoire, came up with a stage image and acted as a concert producer. Tanya’s first solo work was the song “He”, written by Irina Dubtsova. A year later, the premiere of the song “Red on Red” took place.

In 2011, Kotova made her debut as an actress - she starred in the melodrama “And Happiness is Somewhere Nearby” with Igor Vernik and Irina Lachina in the lead roles. The role of Tanya is secondary - the actress played businesswoman Ksenia Morozova. In 2014, Kotova’s filmography was replenished with work in the comedy “What Men Do - 2,” but the film failed at the box office.

In 2012, the performer recorded her third solo song, “In the Games of the Nights.” The Internet version of the video for the composition caused a mixed reaction due to explicit scenes, so the video was re-edited for television broadcast. The song made it into the top 10 on MTV and at the Russian Music Awards of the RU TV channel. TV was presented in the “Sexiest Video” nomination. But the award was given to the Ukrainian singer OKSI for the video “Love for Two.”

By the end of 2012, Tatyana Kotova gave fans the songs “Hop-Hop,” “Confession,” and “Dissolve.” The latter is a collaboration with rapper Stan. In December, at the Moscow karaoke club “Isterika”, the singer presented a concert show program, which included both old and new songs “Ex-Lovers” and “And I Love the Military.”

2013 was marked by the release of the joint composition “FIOLETO”, in the creation of which the Ukrainian singer, author and producer Potap participated. A video was shot for the song. In May 2014, Tatyana Kotova recorded a single called “Everything will be the way you want.” The video for the song was shot by director Maria Skobeleva in Turkey.

In 2015, the performer delighted music lovers with a video for the song “I will be stronger.” At the Muz-TV awards, the clip won the “Sexiest Video of the Year” award. In 2020, the single “Love Out of Love” was released. A video was shot for this composition, as well as for the song “Dance”. The named singles and the new song “I’ll Say Yes” were planned to be included in Tatyana Kotova’s debut solo album.

Later, fans of the singer and VIA Gra rejoiced at the news: producer Sergei Kovalev assembled a new team, which, in addition to Tatyana, included two more ex-soloists of VIA Gra, Olga Romanovskaya and Santa Dimopoulos. The name of the group was announced at a press conference specially convened for this occasion - Queens. In the second half of November 2016, the premiere of the song “Why” took place at the Olimpiysky Sports Complex at the Golden Gramophone ceremony.

In March 2017, former pupils of Meladze managed to perform at the annual show of Valentin Yudashkin, and a month later all 3 “queens” left, giving way to Tamara Solovyova, Christina Kots-Gottlieb and Natalya Trubnikova.

Now in Queens, twin sisters from Belarus Volga and Ekaterina Korol sing together with Christina. Kotova's representative explained that there were no conflicts in the group, it was just that initially the producers relied on girls who did not strive for a solo career, and Tatyana had other plans.

The singer became a guest editor of the Instagram account of the online publication Womans day and threw herself headlong into preparing a solo album, which she talked so much about. The result of many months of work, entitled “Labyrinth,” was published in the summer of 2020.

According to critics, the music of Kotova the singer differs from that performed in VIA Gre; the soloist needs a good producer who would present the artist in a new image that sets her apart from the crowd.

The compositions for the album were written by Max Barskikh, which immediately provoked rumors about close relationships between colleagues. Tatyana herself explained that she has complete creative understanding with the Ukrainian composer, and working at VIA Gre taught her not to pay attention to gossip.

Kotova was not noticed at that time in collaboration with other media persons, and the fact that her name is often found on the Internet next to the name of Yulia Baranovskaya is nothing more than a coincidence. In the latter case, we are talking about the namesakes of the singer and TV presenter, who performed the song “Don’t Go” at the “Kalina Krasnaya” competition among convicts.

Tatyana Kotova Biography

Tatyana Kotova was born on September 3, 1985 in the village of Sholokhovsky, Belokalitvinsky district, Rostov region. From early childhood, parents instilled and developed in girls the desire for physical improvement. Tanya's dad was already spinning Tanyusha in his arms at five months, and when the girls grew up a little, Nikolai Andreevich began every morning with exercises with them. Tanya learned to do the splits early and was an unusually flexible and flexible child. At the same time, dad taught Tatiana boxing so that she could stand up for herself. During her school years, the Don beauty was a hardworking and moderately modest girl. Very quickly Tanya showed interest in the stage. Being energetic, Tanya took part in all school events, was active in the theater group, danced enthusiastically at school parties in front of her classmates, and did ballet and aerobics. From the age of 13, an independent and strong passion for oriental dances began, which gave Tanya the possession of rare plasticity. Parents bought Tanya cassettes with a self-instruction manual - there were no professional teachers who could improve Tanya, not only in the village, but also in the city, but Tanya had great stubbornness and a burning desire to learn how to perform belly dance at any cost. Tanya studied persistently, not for days or weeks, but for whole years. From a young age, Tatyana was a great inner fighter and fighter. One day, when she was thirteen, Tanya’s mother bought her daughter beautiful high-heeled shoes. Tanyusha was terribly proud of them and even wore them to school. But her classmates persuaded her classmates to throw Tanya’s shoes into the river. It was in Kamchatka, in October - icy water... But Tanya, without hesitation, then rushed to save the shoes given by her mother. Later, Tanyusha also struggled with excess weight while studying (after graduating from school) in Rostov. During her first year of study in Rostov, Tanya gained 15 kilograms. When Tanya Kotova once came home for vacation, her mother forced her to urgently go to the gym and was forced to put her daughter on a diet. And so that Tanya would not skip aerobics training, Marina Borisovna herself even went to classes with her daughter. As a result, Tanya lost 10 kilograms of weight in a month and a half. Little Tanyusha was also a skilled needlewoman. Tatyana showed a great love for drawing, making jewelry, and embroidering. In the third grade, Tanya gave her mother an amazing gift on March 8th - a velvet pincushion in the shape of a heart, with a beaded snowdrop woven into it. This gift became one of Tanya’s mother’s favorites. Tanya Kotova’s dream in those years was to become a fashion designer in the future. Instead of playing mother-daughter with her peers, Tanechka rummaged through her grandmother’s chests of drawers and brought old things back to life. Most of the outfits that “Miss Russia 2006” had a hand in consisted of mother’s skirts with hand-made beadwork, appliqués on blouses in the form of beautiful flowers, and father’s hats, originally decorated with artificial flowers. At the same time, Tanya Kotova was also fascinated by another activity - she dreamed of learning how to do beautiful hairstyles. “Tanya loved to talk about her desire to become a hairdresser. She wanted to become a high-level master, but things didn’t go beyond childhood fantasies” (Director of the Image-Elite modeling agency (Rostov-on-Don), where Tanya Kotova worked for several years, Elena Stepura). And of course, the future princess always wanted to become a participant in a beauty contest. Tatyana was very impressed by such shows, and at the moment of the beauties’ victories, Tanya herself could barely hold back her tears. While still a student, Tatyana already won competitions that were held both in her native village and in the Belokalitvinsky district, and in 1998 Tatyana became the owner of the title “Miss Autumn”. Tanyusha’s favorite saying since childhood was: “The day was wasted if I didn’t receive a compliment.” Tanya realized her attractiveness early, and men helped her in this. As soon as she appeared in a crowded place, there was sure to be some gentleman showing Tanya his admiration. Tanya dreamed of becoming and being a member of the group “VIA Gra” even earlier than about beauty contests - even as a teenager, Tanya went to discos and rocked them to the first hits of “VIA Gra”, which made the group famous. In 2008, Tanya’s dream came true, and the owner of the title of the most beautiful girl in Russia, Tatyana Kotova, became a member of this team. “Even before joining the group, I knew almost all the songs by heart. I can’t even choose just one from their repertoire. All of them very subtly convey feelings and emotions, those that are associated with my personal life, with men...” (Tatiana) ON THE WAY TO THE MAIN TITLE Tanya combined her studies at the university with her studies at a modeling agency school. It was a very busy time: Tanya took exams at the university, studied at an agency, received a driver’s license, and worked part-time as a distributor for a well-known cosmetic chain. The future “Miss Russia” participated in all student creative evenings. She taught Arabic dances in one of the fitness clubs and took part in amateur fashion shows. One day Tanya’s friend, Ksenia Zaitseva, was preparing a collection of dresses to be shown at a student festival and Tanya asked me to help her. Taking to the podium, Tanya closed the show in a stunning dress in her favorite purple color. In the evening, her appearance was shown on television and after a while Tanya was invited to the “professional model” course, and after that Tanya was noticed by specialists from the Image-Elite agency. Tanya entered the modeling business at the age of 20, and even a short course of study gave her a large stock of knowledge and skills. After a short viewing, Elena Stepura stated that she had never met such a type as Tatyana. She said that if Tanya learns a little, she will become the next Naomi Campbell. The master’s words sank into Tanya’s soul (although her ideal was Karolina Kurkova), and Tanya began to actively study at a modeling school and go to fashion shows. Classes at the agency began in April 2006, and a few months later Tatyana was offered to take part in the “Best Model of the South of Russia” competition, where she entered the top five. Next - up the steps of life: Tatyana became the owner of the title “Vice - Miss Crystal Crown of Crimea”, and soon in September 2006, “Rostov Beauty”. “I dreamed about this since childhood! After the coronation, she immediately began her duties - already as the “Rostov Beauty 2006,” she went to the casino to reward the lottery winners. In general, I will never forget this day. So many emotions, impressions and joy... You know, my phone even died from the number of calls.” A few months later she became the owner of the Miss Russia crown. For the first time in the history of the competition, the beauty queen was not a “shark” of the modeling industry, but an aspiring starlet from Rostov. MISS RUSSIA - 2006 On December 15, 2006, the final of the national competition “Miss Russia” took place. In the center of the Moscow Gostiny Dvor, where the show took place, there was a real skating rink, where Tatyana Navka and Alexey Yagudin performed. According to the terms of the competition, the three finalists were chosen by a representative jury, but which of the three beauties would take first place was determined by the audience in the hall. Two of the most beautiful girls on the planet came to wish the contestants good luck - Miss Universe 2006 Zuleika Rivera Mendoza from Puerto Rico and Miss World 2006 Tatiana Kuharzhova from the Czech Republic. Nikas Safronov was the first to note the bright beauty of the Don blonde and immediately declared that the Rostovite was the best. As it turned out later, the artist’s opinion was shared by the majority of viewers and jury members. Approximately 53% of those present voted for Tanya. Sardana Syromyatnikova from Yakutia and Yulia Samoilova from Irkutsk became the first and second runner-up, respectively. Miss Russia 2005 Alexandra Ivanovskaya dressed the new queen's head in a crown of white gold and diamonds, and representatives of the main sponsor (Russian Standard Bank) presented her with a check for $100,000. In addition to a cash prize and a diamond crown, Tanya received the right to further represent Russia at the Miss Universe 2007 and Miss World 2007 beauty contests. Upon returning to Rostov on December 19, Tanya and her parents went straight from the airport to a press conference at the Rostov Don Plaza and only then home to their native village of Sholokhovsky. “For my family, my victory was a complete surprise. When I returned home, my parents were waiting for me at the plane’s steps with bouquets of roses and a white limousine.” In Tanya’s native village, Nikolai Andreevich gave his daughter a truly royal reception - he rented a restaurant and invited friends and relatives. Later, in April 2007, already as the owner of the main beauty title of Russia - “Miss Russia - 2006” - Tatyana Kotova visited her school in Sholokhovsky and presented her gift - 350 thousand rubles. For her arrival, a photo exhibition was made from the school archives. The schoolchildren made a living corridor to welcome the famous graduate, and a concert was prepared for her. And, as eyewitnesses said, Tatyana Kotova cried while listening to a song about school, just as she did when receiving the Miss Russia crown. Tatyana Kotova donated the second half of her first installment of the Miss Russia prize money to a boarding school located in the same village.

MEXICO. MISS UNIVERSE COMPETITION - 2007 On May 28, 2007, in the capital of Mexico, where the 56th international main beauty contest of the planet was held, the fate of the Miss Universe crown, worth a quarter of a million dollars, was decided. Tanya arrived in Mexico City long before the competition at the end of April, on the 30th. The work schedule consisted of colossal training, rehearsals, including English, speaking, catwalk and fitness classes. In addition, there were photo sessions and sometimes video recordings. In order to get used to the change of time zones in advance, in her homeland Tatyana woke up at seven in the morning - it was at this hour that the competition was supposed to begin in Mexico City. “I plan to be at least one of the ten finalists and greet the Miss Universe jury in Spanish! - Tatyana said. Tatyana quickly acclimatized to the new place. The girl was accommodated with other contestants in a five-star hotel. Tatyana ended up in the same room with a contestant from Ukraine Lyudmila Bikmullina. By the way, it was because of this girl that our Tanya had to tinker with the national costume in which she was supposed to represent Russia at the competition. The fact is that for all Rostov women who have ever performed at international competitions, Rostov fashion designer Violetta Vaitekunene sewed ceremonial dresses. She prepared sketches of a red dress for Tanya Kotova and purchased fabrics when it suddenly turned out that the Ukrainian would also perform in a red dress. We had to urgently change the idea - as a result, they bought a ready-made dress for Tatyana Kotova from a capital designer for 700,000 rubles. The dress was blue and decorated with mink fur. According to Tatyana, the Mexicans were hospitable, but for obvious reasons they supported Latin American beauties. The girls were fed dishes of Mexican and European cuisine, so Tatyana was free to choose - either to try the fiery local dishes, or not to risk it and eat more familiar food. In their free time from rehearsals, the girls were introduced to various excursions. Tanya visited the cradle of ancient civilization - the province of Chapas and the Grand Canyon. During the river excursion, participants were transported in a boat with crocodiles swimming freely around it. However, Tanya was not afraid of such exoticism: during a recent trip to Thailand, she even took pictures next to a crocodile. As part of the mandatory competitive work, the contestants attended charity events, receptions, and photo sessions. This is what Tanya said on the eve of the final: “We get up early, no restrictions on food, every day we travel to different cities in Mexico. There are numerous photo shoots, rehearsals, meetings with local residents and journalists - on the beaches, at ancient Indian monuments. There are a lot of interviews. All participants must wear ribbons to distinguish between countries. There are no escorts from Russia with me. I live in a double room with a representative of Ukraine, with whom I became very friendly. We help each other in everything. There are about 100 participants in total. The atmosphere is friendly, the locals treat us well - Mexicans are very hospitable. Now I’m not worried yet, although I can’t guarantee that I’ll reach the finals just as calmly.”

The winner of the competition was Riyo Mori from Japan. Tanya Kotova failed to make it to the finals. Tanya Kotova's parents were surprised by the Japanese woman's victory. Marina Borisovna: “At first I felt that Tanyusha was on the rise, confident in herself and determined to win. But just before the finale, I had a feeling that she was clearly in a bad mood, that she was very tired - after a month of all these nerves. And as confirmation - an SMS that my daughter sent on the eve of the competition: “Mommy, when will this nightmare end?!” I didn’t have time to answer her and cheer her up: she turned off the phone.” Her parents were not able to watch Tanya’s performance. “The channel that broadcast the competition turned out to be paid, and we did not have access rights to watch,” lamented the mother of Russia’s first beauty. “We spent the night almost sleepless, everyone was looking for any information about our daughter on Internet sites. But I only learned about the final results in the morning news. And we were all very surprised: how could this Japanese woman win?! Unclear!" On June 5, the parents met Tatyana, who had caught a cold on the way home, at the Moscow airport and returned back to Rostov. “I really want to see her, console her and tell her that the best is yet to come. Well, if she had won this competition, then there would have been no need to strive for heights. But for Tanya now the main thing is her diploma. And in general, it looks like she will now need some rehabilitation just to recover from Miss Universe and strive for new victories!” — Marina Borisovna told her daughter before the meeting. CHINA. MISS WORLD 2007 COMPETITION On December 1, 2007, the final of the Miss World 2007 competition took place. Unfortunately, Tanya failed to win this title of the first beauty of the world. VIA GRA On March 18, 2008, it was announced that Tatyana Kotova would join the Russian-Ukrainian pop group VIA Gra after the departure of Vera Brezhneva in July 2007. Tatyana's debut video was the video I'm not afraid, in which she starred with the rest of the group's soloists Albina Dzhanabaeva and Meseda Bagaudinova. Tatyana's first performances as part of the group were concerts in Moscow, Sungate Port Royal (Antalya, Turkey) and Ogre (Latvia). The first television filming was a concert dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the newspaper “Arguments and Facts”. On March 22, 2010, she finally left the VIA Gra group of her own free will. SOLO CAREER In 2010, Tatyana Kotova presents to the attention of listeners her first solo song “He”, authored by Irina Dubtsova. On September 18 and 19, the shooting of a video for this composition took place in Kyiv. The video was directed by the famous music video director Alan Badoev. The main focus in Kotova’s solo work is not on meaningless shocking or aggressive sexuality. High-quality pop music, interesting arrangements, hit melodies, coupled with a beautiful appearance - these are the main components of Tatyana Kotova’s success. In her work, she appeals to an audience that values quality and sincerity, not fleeting fashion.

Very soon Kotova will present fans a new song “Red on Red”. She starred as a businesswoman in the series “And Happiness is Somewhere Nearby,” which premiered on April 22, 2011 on the Russia 1 TV channel. As part of the weekly show, a team of professionals helped the project participants transform their appearance in order to fulfill their dreams - for example, meeting their soul mate, achieving creative self-realization or career growth. The advice of Tatyana Kotova and Maxim Chernitsov not only helped the heroines find their own unique image, but was also useful to every TV viewer who would like to experiment with their own image. This new experience of Tatyana has become so successful that she is already considering offers from several Russian TV channels. The shortage of “fresh” faces on domestic television is making itself felt, and Kotova will certainly be able to fill the currently empty niche of young and attractive female TV presenters.

SOLO CAREER In June 2010, information appeared about Tatyana’s debut on television. She played a sexy seductress and bitch in the television series And happiness is somewhere nearby, which was released in the spring of 2011 on the Rossiya channel. Tatyana's debut solo work is the song He, written by Irina Dubtsova. The video was directed by Alan Badoev. Tatiana's producer was the director of the Moscow Comedy Club, Alexey Novitsky. On March 27, the shooting of the video “Red on Red” took place, but the video was released later. On September 28 in St. Petersburg, at a concert in honor of Freshman Day, Tatyana’s debut solo performance took place with the presentation of the composition Vampiritsa. On November 24, the long-awaited premiere of the song “Red on Red” took place, which was recorded in March. By the end of November, Tatyana’s repertoire is formed, consisting of songs: He, Red on Red, Vampiritsa, Obladi, The World for Strong Men. Tatyana consolidates the success of the songs by performing them at various events, such as the New Year's light of the MusicBox channel, V. Yudashkin's show, and the Miss Russia 2012 competition. On April 18, 2012, the premiere of the song In the Games of the Nights and the video for it took place. The clip turned out to be quite provocative, with a large number of candid shots. The new video was presented under the creative pseudonym KOTTOVA due to the fact that Tatyana signed a contract with a production company, which is being worked on under this label.

A romantic feeling helped the singer finish work on the album:

“Some of the material was ready a year before the release of the record. But the songs lacked the lightness that is inherent in an artist in love... Time after time I re-recorded the songs and was still dissatisfied with their sound. Right now my songs sound the way I feel them.”

In the early 1990s. The activities of Kotova and the hospital she heads came to the attention of the media after journalist Gennady Mayorov published in the newspaper “Soviet Sport” (02/27/1991) an interview with a former employee of the Oryol hospital, who spoke about the cruel conditions of detention of political prisoners there: “Of them wanted to make animals”[2]. Tatyana Kotova, on behalf of the hospital, filed a lawsuit for the protection of honor and dignity in 1992, expressing in court “absolute confidence in the justice and inviolability of the principles of Soviet psychiatry”: as journalist Mark Deitch noted in a report on the trial, “all prisoners of the Oryol mental hospital, in the opinion of Lieutenant Colonel Kotova, were abnormal, it was necessary to treat them. Including dissidents. <…> Tatyana Kotova has no doubt about the need to illustrate letters from patients, and about the need for unbearably painful injections “for punishment””[3]. Dissident Vladimir Gershuni, who was held as a prisoner in the Oryol hospital for three years, commented on Kotova’s demarche to Deitch:

They shouldn't have started this. It would be better for the “doctors” of the Oryol psychiatric hospital to sit quietly: you see, everything would be completely forgotten. True, neither I nor my comrades forgot anything[3].

As G. Mayorov later noted, the trial in Orel “was the first trial of this kind, which aroused increased interest among dissidents and human rights activists: after all, many of them still did not have the opportunity to publicly express their claims to punitive medicine. <…> In the verdict, they were looking for a “golden mean” for a long time. But the main defeat of the leaders of the special mental hospital was that the process was covered not only in the USSR, but also abroad, and many famous people expressed their assessment of punitive medicine.”[2].

In the post-Soviet period, Tatyana Kotova continued to work in the same place and in the same position as the chief physician of the Federal State Institution “Oryol Psychiatric Hospital (inpatient) of a specialized type with intensive supervision of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation”: how, “continue to flourish in Russian psychiatry and such odious personalities as <...> the head physician of the Oryol Special Psychiatric Hospital, Lieutenant Colonel of the Internal Service Tatyana Kotova, who have stained themselves by persecuting dissidents”[4]. Participated in round tables on the topic “Protecting the rights of patients undergoing compulsory treatment. Social rehabilitation and public safety”[5].

Tatyana Kotova now

In the fall of 2018, Tatyana presented a new song, “Come with Me,” simultaneously sharing moments of filming the video online. The video was directed by Taras Golubkov, the author of the videos of Monatik, Sati Kazanova and Mitya Fomina. The program was choreographed by Ekaterina Surkova, champion in sports ballroom dancing and assistant to world dance star Brooklyn Jay. Shortly before this, Maxim magazine awarded the singer the title of one of the sexiest women of the year along with Victoria Lopyreva, Natalya Rudova and Yulia Efimova.

The track is included in the collection of musical accompaniment songs for Zumba dances. Kotova is the only official representative of this half-dance, half-sports direction in Russia. The press notes that the hit has already spread both in the homeland of the Russian performer and abroad.

The artist’s gift for 2020 was a song about the main attribute of the holiday, with which the New Year’s mood is associated - “Tangerines.” On Instagram, the singer organized a competition for subscribers for the best dance to this composition. The main prize was a trip to the Maldives.

For Tatyana herself, the New Year was spoiled - she received burns on her hands from a low-quality sparkler. Nevertheless, as the girl wrote on social networks, “there is no time to be lazy and sway.” A promo video of the new concert program KOTOVA SHOW 2020 has been posted on Kotova’s official Youtube channel. Tatyana is intensively preparing for her performances, spending time in the dance hall and studio.

The media suggested that the so-called “robbery” of a Moscow supermarket by Tatyana Kotova and Olga Romanovskaya was nothing more than a way to attract attention, a kind of viral advertising. The event took place in February 2019, and fans hope that their favorite artist took this step without malicious intent.
