American actress and producer, Oscar winner and Hollywood's highest paid star Reese Witherspoon was born in New Orleans on March 22, 1976 in a family of doctors. Reese's father John Witherspoon was called up for military service as a doctor in Germany, as a result of which Reese and his mother Betty went with their father and lived in the city of Wiesbaden for about four years. After returning to America, the family settled in Nashville (Tennessee). Since childhood, Reese had a special interest in acting; at the age of seven she starred in a commercial for a flower shop, and at the age of 11, Reese Witherspoon starred in a commercial for the Ames chain of stores.
