Of course, in the biography of Lyudmila Ryumina there were other stages, such as personal life, they are also worth talking about.

The attitude towards Lyudmila Ryumina from her contemporaries has always been straightforward. She never hid anything and was an open person. All her successes are associated with her character and ability to convince people. Her ability to beautifully perform folk songs also had some influence. As a result, today we remember a person who passed away completely undeservedly; she could have done a lot more useful things for art.

Education and first steps in creative activity

Little is known about Ryumina’s childhood. Her first years were spent in the village of Vyazovoe, Lipetsk region. The performer considers this area her homeland. The family lived modestly; the newborn girl even had to sleep in a trough on the stove. But these poor years only strengthened her character, charged the little girl with stubbornness and the desire to achieve something more.

Lyudmila studied at an art school and graduated at the age of 18. Immediately after this, the girl was sent to work at a local plant. She became a graphic designer, developing sketches from scratch, including the smallest patterns and ornaments. In the future, this knowledge will help the singer develop custom costumes for performances.

Shortly after receiving the job, Lyuda was invited to join the Voronezh Girls ensemble. It was as part of this group that she began singing folk songs. The girl became seriously interested in this activity, so she soon decided to enter the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music School. The talented singer managed to become a student of Valentina Efremovna Kladnina’s course the first time. Moreover, she was able to graduate from the educational institution as an external student just three years after admission.

After college, Ryumina went to the Fryazino music school. For two years she led a children's folk choir, and later became a soloist of the Mosconcert. Lyudmila understood that this was not enough for her, she decided to continue studying. In 1978, she became a student at the department of folk singing at the Gnessin Institute, and in 1983 she received a diploma of higher education. In this prestigious institution, the girl was taught by People's Artist of the USSR Nina Konstantinovna Meshko.

“The theater was a temple for her”: how we will remember Lyudmila Ryumina

On August 31, at the age of 69, People's Artist of Russia Lyudmila Ryumina died. The singer died of cancer at the Botkin Hospital in Moscow. She devoted her entire life to the development of traditional folk art. In recent years, Ryumina has worked with young people, holding the position of head of the Moscow Cultural Folklore. She recalls the creative path of Lyudmila Ryumina.

Folk songs and classical romances

Lyudmila Ryumina was born in Voronezh in 1949. Being a graphic designer at a local plant, 18-year-old Lyudmila successfully passed the audition of the Voronezh Girls musical ensemble. There her development as a performer of Russian folk songs began.

After this, Lyudmila decided to get a specialized education and entered Valentina Klodnina’s course at the Ippolitov-Ivanov Music School. A few years later, already being an artist of the Mosconcert, Ryumina continued her studies at the Institute. Gnessins and GITIS.

The artist devoted all subsequent years to creativity - she has written many songs with Robert Rozhdestvensky, Vladimir Migulya, Alexandra Pakhmutova, Nikolai Dobronravov and many others. At the same time, Ryumina, possessing an academic voice, performed not only Russian folk songs, but also classical romances and even opera arias.

In 1985, the singer received the title of “People’s Artist of the RSFSR”, and in 2000 she was awarded the “Order of Honor” for her contribution to the development of domestic musical art. In just five years, the artist’s discography has been replenished with sixteen albums, including “Eh, Maslenitsa,” “Live, Russia,” and “Where the Motherland Begins.” Ryumina herself admitted in an interview with 7 Days that Valentina Klodnina, Nina Meshko, Elena Noskova and Vyacheslav Shalevich played an important role in the development of her professional career.

In addition to her creative activities, Ryumina paid great attention to the development of traditional folk art and training of youth. Since 1976, she began leading the children's folk choir of a music school in Fryazino, near Moscow, but soon left due to a busy touring schedule.

But already in 1999, Ryumina returned to teaching and began directing the Moscow Cultural Folklore Center. In it, the artist, together with her students, presented many solo programs, including “Apple Trees in Blossom”, “Faith, Hope, Love” and “School Years”. Ryumina was also the founder and permanent leader of the state ensemble “Rusy”. The artist herself did not hide that the development of the center was not easy for her, especially at the very beginning of its activity.

This is my brainchild and the future of national Russian art. Here taste is formed and the height of the culture of Russian folk art is demonstrated. In our center there are performances on the theme of Russian folk tales, theatrical performances of our team

— Lyudmila Ryumina.

Ryumina has received many prizes and awards: the Order of Peter the Great, 1st degree, the Order of Honor, the Order of Patron and many others. In 2012, she was a confidant of Russian presidential candidate Vladimir Putin. Two years later she was awarded the Order of Friendship for her contribution to the development of national culture.

Singer Yuri Antonov expressed his condolences to the family and friends of Lyudmila Ryumina. “She was a wonderful performer of a Russian song... May she rest in peace,” he said in an interview with “360.” Antonov noted her great contribution to the development of national culture.

The death of Lyudmila Ryumina became a personal tragedy for the poet Ilya Reznik. “A few months ago, my wife Irina and I were at Lyudochka’s theater. She was proud of her theater, into which she invested a lot of energy,” he recalled his last meeting with the singer in a conversation with “360”. During the meeting, the artist showed her guests Russian folk costumes, kokoshniks and often remembered her mother, who passed away several years ago.

There was a conversation about making my creative evening together. So that both her children and my children can make a big national holiday of the author. But this dream did not come true... The theater for her was an outlet, a refuge and an abode. She was a religious person, so I think the theater was a temple for her. This is unexpected news that shocked us. May the earth rest in peace, and may the Lord bless her. We will remember our Lyudochka

— Ilya Reznik.

Honored Artist of Russia Yuri Galtsev expressed condolences in connection with the death of Ryumina on behalf of all the actors. Together with his colleagues, he often came to perform at her folklore. Every meeting with Ryumina was filled with hospitality and warmth - she always treated the actors to tea and homemade cakes.

When we first met, we asked if she would allow us into her theater. She said that any help from her would be like family. And she helped us... I have a feeling that I knew her for a long time. Folk and very friendly. Her death is a very big loss

Continuous improvement

One of the reasons for Ryumina's success is her incredible persistence. She never stopped learning and developing, despite all the awards and encouragement. From the age of 18, the girl sang folk songs as part of a group, but only in 1983 was she able to look at her performances differently. Luda realized that it was necessary to liven up the concerts and think through competent productions. That is why she entered GITIS in the “variety directing” department under Vyacheslav Shalevich.

Even while receiving her second education, the woman did not forget about vocals for a minute. For 20 years she attended lessons with Elena Nikolaevna Noskova, developing her voice. Thanks to this, Lyudmila acquired her own unique style of performance; her songs make a strong impression on listeners. In 1982, Ryumina reached the final of “Song of the Year” with the composition “Flowers of Russia”. On December 19, 1985, she was elected Honored Artist of the RSFSR.

For Ryumina, not only the money she earns from performances is important. Its main goal is to popularize folk art and renew interest in folk culture. That is why the woman opened a cultural folklore center in Moscow. The project was presented back in June 1999, and the institution is still functioning.

The cultural center is located in the former cinema "Ukraine". On its basis it was planned to hold multinational festivals and organize concerts for young performers and groups. The opening of the institution took place on December 22, 2007; before that, the building was being reconstructed. Lyudmila Georgievna did not waste time: she regularly performed solo programs, recorded 16 albums, and participated in various events.

Later, the Moscow Folklore Center moved to another building. Such programs as “Ogonyok”, “School Years”, “Moscow Beauty”, “Apple Trees in Bloom” and others were created there. Also, this institution constantly held New Year's performances for children. The audience especially remembered the program “That’s Emelya!”

Personal life of Lyudmila Ryumina

The artist has repeatedly stated that she is married to her career. And, indeed, according to the official version, she was never officially married. She also had no children.

Lyudmila Georgievna herself admitted that she was in relationships with many men, and was happy with each of them. The reason that she never got married was her busy schedule, constant moving and full dedication to her work. In addition, the artist was barren. Today, Lyudmila Ryumina’s biography is credited with her husband and children, photos of which allegedly are available from representatives of popular publications.

The reason for the artist’s infertility is the severe consequences of an accident, which Lyudmila got into in her youth. Doctors then said that it was a great success that the girl remained alive. Then she was also informed that in the future the young woman would not be able to have children.

For the artist, this news came as a big shock, but she tried to compensate for the inability to have her own children by caring for the younger generation. Many of her contemporaries believe that the founding of the Rusy ensemble helped hundreds of children and young people make decisions in life.

It is worth noting that Lyudmila was an incredibly charming and bright person. she was distinguished by her direct and rather strict character, but at the same time she was extremely popular among men. Whether in her youth or later in life Lyuda was officially connected with at least one of her admirers is still being discussed.

It is a well-known fact that the artist never had children, although some media representatives are trying to refute this fact.

Personal life

Lyudmila dated different men. In an interview, she said that she was always lucky with her lovers. Among the singer’s men were athletes, actors and other famous personalities, whose names she did not disclose. Due to the busy schedule, the relationship did not work out; I always had to choose between love and career. After a long separation, her interest in her chosen one cooled down. As a result, the woman got used to choosing music instead of her personal life, realizing that only music matters.

In her youth, an accident occurred that also affected the artist’s relationships with men. She fell under the wheels of a car, and the girl was dragged along the asphalt for several meters. She managed to survive despite numerous internal injuries, but Lyudmila became infertile. The woman overcame this shock long ago, because her family was replaced by numerous students. Every day she shares her knowledge with them, creating something amazing.

Ryumina's talent is surprisingly combined with her ability to work and numerous skills. The woman sings excellently, is the director of many performances, directs aspiring artists and supports them in every possible way. She masters folk and academic vocals, so during performances she often performs vocalises in high tessitura.

Lyudmila Georgievna’s repertoire includes not only Russian folk compositions. You can often hear romances, arias, classical and chamber works from her. During her career, the singer managed to work with many famous poets and musicians. Among them are A. Pakhmutova, S. Bersenev, M. Fradkin, R. Rozhdestvensky and others.
