Personal life and career of actress Marina Kazankova

Biography

It's no secret that actors often try themselves in other areas of activity. Some become playwrights, like Ivan Okhlobystin, others become singers, like Evgeny Dyatlov and Dmitry Pevtsov, and others become TV presenters, like Marat Basharov and Mikhail Porechenkov. But Marina Kazankova surprised everyone the most by combining theater, cinema and sports. While participating in the filming of “The Legend of St. Petersburg” in 2019, the world freediving champion managed to conquer Mont Blanc.

Childhood and youth

Despite the fact that Marina spent her childhood in sunny Italy, she was born in the capital of Russia on the fourth day of August 1981. Father Pavel, a former military pilot and champion in breath-holding scuba diving, had a huge role in the formation and influence on the choice of interests of his youngest daughter.

Marina Kazankova in her youth
The girl from an early age resembled him in her fearless character: at the age of 9 she first sat behind the wheel of a car, at 18 she jumped with a parachute, a year later she hitchhiked to Rome (by that time the family had already returned to their homeland) and worked there as a model herself. a large company for sewing wedding dresses.

Marina Kazankova’s mother is a doctor, and her father is a former fighter pilot. Marina spent her childhood in Italy, where she studied at an Italian school.

It was there in Italy that Marina began her acting career. She was 15 years old when, taking the documents of her 18-year-old sister Ellina (whom she was very similar to), she went to the casting of a film. The director really liked the girl. This is how Marina made her film debut.

From her dad, Marina inherited the character of an extreme sportswoman and adventurer. At the age of nine she first sat behind the wheel of a car. At the same time, her dream arose to jump with a parachute, which Marina realized at the age of 18. She says: “Mom didn’t agree. But dad, knowing my stubborn character, reconciled himself, only asked to take him with me. My dad and I are similar in character. He is a former fighter pilot and is not afraid of anything. In general, the next day he and I jumped together. I admit honestly that when I had to leave the plane, I felt somehow uneasy. I stepped off the plane with my mouth wide open and my eyes wide open. I had the feeling that I was in a parallel world, that everything was not happening to me. Then, when the parachute had already opened, silence fell, I quietly floated in the air and experienced a state of euphoria.”

To date, Marina has already completed more than a hundred parachute jumps. In addition, she is involved in professional auto racing and even knows how to fly Yak-52 aircraft.

Marina’s extreme character was also evident in the fact that at the age of 19, she again went to Italy with one backpack and 600 dollars in her pocket (by that time she and her family were already living in Russia). For two weeks, the girl walked all over Rome and looked for where to find work. When the money was already running out, she met a man for whom she had once starred in an advertisement for wedding dresses. So Marina became the face of his company.

Italy - Russia

A little later, Marina ended up in the Festina theater, a reputable Roman theater on the stage of which all the best Italian musicals are staged. This happened thanks to a friend who recommended her to a director she knew. He was just looking for actresses for a new play. Marina came to the screening, read an excerpt from a comic poem in Italian and Nastasya Filippovna’s monologue from “The Idiot” in Russian. And she was approved...

Then, having arrived in Moscow, Marina entered VGIK, the acting department. From her second year she played in the School of Modern Play theater. And in 2001, she starred in Karen Shakhnazarov’s tragicomic phantasmagoria “Poisons or the World History of Poisoning,” where she played Lucretia Borgia.

In 2002, Marina Kazankova graduated from VGIK, returned to Italy and was accepted into the Roman theater "Company Glauco Mauri". Here she was entrusted with the role of a Venetian woman in the play “The Big Fox,” which, by the way, was claimed by many Italian actresses. And after some time, she and the theater went on a months-long tour of Italy and Switzerland.

Marina does not have any problems with an accent, since she is fluent in Italian, as well as English, French and a little German. This allowed her to star in several Italian films. In Italy, viewers know Marina for her roles in the films: “Republic of San Gennaro”, “The Girl from Piazza di Spagna”, “Commese”.

Participation in rating projects

In 2003, Marina Kazankova was invited to play the role of Olga Kalinovskaya in the series “Poor Nastya”. As the actress admits, she liked this work, although for this she had to fly from Italy to Moscow...

Movies

Kazankova made her debut on the set while she was still a student. In 1999, she appeared in the film adaptation of Andrei Platonov’s stories “We Have to Live Again”, 3 years later - in the 10th episode of “Detectives” and Shakhnazarov’s film “Poisons, or the World History of Poisoning”, where she appeared in the image of Lucrezia Borgia. Marina Kazankova was born on August 4, 1981 in Moscow. Her mother is a doctor, and her father is a former fighter pilot. Marina spent her childhood in Italy, where she studied at an Italian school.

From her dad, Marina inherited the character of an extreme sportswoman and an adventurer (in the good sense of the word). At the age of nine she sat behind the wheel of a car for the first time. But dad, knowing my stubborn disposition, reconciled himself, only asked to take him with me. My dad and I are similar in character. He is a former fighter pilot and is not afraid of anything. In 2003, Marina Kazankova was invited to play the role of Olga Kalinovskaya in the TV series Poor Nastya. As the actress admits, she liked this service, but for this she had to rush from Italy to Moscow. And as Marina admits: I can’t stay in Moscow for more than a month. The gray sky, the frost - all this is terribly oppressive. In summer it is very hot and there is no sea. I can't live without the sea! I'm used to going to the beach every day. In Rome, from my house to the sea it takes 30 minutes by scooter, and even less by car.

As Marina admits, her plans are to become a Hollywood star. Moreover, these are just plans, not dreams. After all, according to Marina: You are allowed to dream for the rest of your life and achieve nothing. I always translate my dreams into plans.
