What films did he take part in?

For the first time, Michael Clarke Duncak starred in the science fiction film “Armageddon”. Then he met such an actor as Bruce Willis. Michael played the role of a crew member of a spaceship with the symbolic name “Independence”.

The shuttle flies towards its death towards a large asteroid, which rushes towards the earth. The team must destroy the block of stones, otherwise they will fall to the ground and destroy the planet. The team's task is to fly to the asteroid and fill it with explosives. After the ship orbited the earth, it was caught in a rain of space debris. The fragments flew after the huge asteroid. The shuttle crashes, only two survive - Bugai and AJ Frost.

The men decide to go to the second spaceship, which is sent into boundless space for the same purpose. Having crossed the threshold of the neighboring shuttle, the cosmonauts realize that not everything is going as smoothly for this team as it seemed at first glance.

Michael gained popularity and popular love after the release of the TV film “The Green Mile,” which was filmed in 1999 based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King. In the film, the actor plays the role of John Coffey.

It should be noted that he was invited to star in the new blockbuster thanks to the advice of Bruce Willis, whom Michael met while working on the Armageddon project.

In the story, John Coffey is accused of raping, torturing and murdering two young girls. The man is sentenced to death. He is put on death row. But the warden, named Paul, is not sure that John is guilty.

Paul believes that Coffey is a very kind and generous person by nature, who is not capable of murder and abuse of children. John doesn't look like a sociopath or a psychopath.

John has superpowers. He can cure any disease with one touch. The man helped Paul cure the infection. In addition, he resurrected a mouse, the prisoner's pet. It so happened that the mouse was crushed by an embittered prisoner to annoy the offender.

Having learned about John's miraculous gift, the prison warden decides to ask him for help in treating his seriously ill wife. Doctors cannot make the correct diagnosis and prescribe effective therapy. At night, a prisoner is secretly taken to the prison warden's house to help a dying woman. And he manages to get her back on her feet.

John tells Paul that he knows who really killed the unfortunate girls, for the death and abuse of whom he was sentenced to death. Paul wants to help John and asks him to run away. But the prisoner refuses, awaiting execution of the sentence. In the end, Coffey dies.

After the film “The Green Mile” was released in wide release, the actor was nominated for an Oscar. But Michael never received the award.

Next year, Michael again starred in the same project with Bruce Willis. In The Whole Nine Yards, Clark plays a gangster who works for Jimmy, nicknamed Tulip. Jimmy himself is played by Bruce Willis.

Later, another film with Michael’s participation, “The Scorpion King,” was released in wide release. In the film, the actor plays the role of Balthazar. Michael's character is the leader of the Nubian rebels. In the story, he captures the main character of the film, Metaes, played by Dwayne Johnson. The Akkadian mercenary Metaes engages the enemy. When the men see that their forces are equal, they decide to unite against King Memnon.

In 2005, Michael again worked with Bruce Willis. He stars in the film “Sin City.” The film, directed by Robert Rodriguez, is based on the novel by Frank Miller. The film consists of several separate parts, which have their own plot, plot, key moment and conclusion.

In the film "The Big Savory Massacre" Michael plays Manut. According to the plot of the film, a conflict arises between prostitutes, the police and the mafia.

Michael starred in the film “School for Scoundrels.” The actor masterfully played the role of Lesher. In the story, Lesher heads one of the departments that deals with increasing self-esteem. The film tells how Doctor P works with Roger, who dreams of saying goodbye to his complexes. But his help turns out to be ineffective.

Roger experiences situations that ruin his life. Doctor P stares at the main character's beloved and tries to win her attention.

Michael's next work was the film "Green Lantern", where he took part as a dubbing actor. The man voiced Kilowog, a member of the Green Lantern Corps. Kilowog is a very good technician. He trains and trains recruit pilots.

In the series “The Searcher,” Michael played the role of Leo Knox, a lawyer who is a retired major. The man is so good that he can find absolutely everything he needs.

According to the plot of the film, Walter is wounded in the head during the war with Iraq, which leads to shell shock and mental insanity. But it is precisely this illness that helps the hero cope with seemingly impossible tasks.

The series “The Seeker” is, in a way, a copy of the painting “Bones”. In order for the new character to be remembered by the audience, it was decided to show him in one of the episodes of the film “Bones”. Then Michael appears briefly in the sixth season, in episode 19 called “The Seeker.”

Dave Duncan

Dave Duncan (full name David John Duncan) was born in Scotland in 1933. After graduating from the University of St. Andrew, where he studied geology, Duncan moved to Canada in 1955, became involved in science and was very successful in the oil business. He got married in 1959 (he now has a son, two daughters and four grandchildren), and in the late seventies he became interested in literature, completing evening courses for aspiring writers. For a long time he lived in Victoria, British Columbia (Canada).

At that time, Duncan wrote several stories, but they were unsuccessful, and only a few years later the writer tried again, deciding that perhaps his novels would turn out better. His first attempt was the novel “The Seventh Sword,” which Duncan sent to Del Ray (then the leader in fantasy publishing), but editor Veronica Chapman, after some hesitation, rejected it. This failure did not discourage the aspiring writer. “I soon discovered that writing novels was a very attractive activity. I finish one and immediately start the next one,” says Dave Duncan.

After the refusal, he decided to rewrite the novel, adding elements of science fiction, and at the same time finishing work on the book “The Rose-Red City”. The oil crisis that broke out in the spring of 1986 became a turning point in Dave Duncan's career. For the first time in his life, he was left without work and prospects... Two weeks later, he received a call from an agent who said that Del Ray had bought the rights to publish “Rose-Red City.” From that day on, Dave Duncan became a professional writer. "The City..." was published in 1987 and was nominated for a Locus magazine award. In the same 1987, Duncan’s second book, “Shadow,” was published, and in 1988, a trilogy that grew out of the novel “Seventh Sword” was published, including the novels “The Reluctant Warrior.” Reluctant Swordsman", "The Coming of Wisdom", "The Destiny of the Sword".

Favoring fantasy over other genres, Dave Duncan has a passion for creating, hybridizing, and exploring both worlds and magic. In The Seventh Sword, magic is nothing more than science in disguise, in The Great Game trilogy, magical abilities are based on personal charisma and have religious overtones, and in The Cursed, magic is a synonym for big trouble. However, the writer himself considers the most difficult part to be creating attractive and believable characters.

Dave Duncan prefers to work on a computer, typing, by his own admission, very poorly - “with four fingers.” When the book is going well, he produces 1000-1500 words a day and thus writes 2-3 books a year. In 1989, Duncan wrote the novel West of January, for which he received an Aurora Award in 1990. Gravitating towards writing large novels that develop into serials (Duncan wrote only 4 stories throughout his time), the writer tries himself in the genre of adventure-humorous fantasy - the “Omar” duology, consisting of the novels “Rogue Road” (“The Reaver Road", 1992) and "The Hunters' Haunt", 1995) - and in the pseudo-historical, releasing the series of novels "The Years of Longdirk" under the pseudonym Ken Hood: "Demon Sword" , "Demon Rider" and "Demon Knight".

Reviewers' reviews of Duncan's works vary. Most agree that both the plots and characters in his stories are somewhat simple, but at the same time they have incredible appeal - once you start reading the book, you won’t be able to put it down.
