16 years later: what happened to the actors of the series “My Fair Nanny”

“My Fair Nanny” is a cult Russian comedy series based on the American television version of “The Nanny”. Literally from the first episode, the sitcom managed to win the attention and love of the audience. The audience liked the story about cosmetics seller Victoria, who accidentally became the nanny of three children from a wealthy family. Exceptional charisma and an excellent sense of humor allowed her to instantly charm the children and her new employer - successful producer Maxim Shatalin.

The television series “My Fair Nanny” was one of the highest-rated domestic projects. In 2005, the sitcom won two TEFI awards and received the title “Best Comedy Series of the Year” at the Golden Ostap festival.

Let's see how the lives of the actors from our favorite series turned out.

Anastasia Zavorotnyuk as Victoria Prutkovskaya

The role in the series brought fame and popularity to the actress. Upon completion of the project, Anastasia had difficulty getting rid of the image of a frivolous nanny. The viewer stubbornly did not perceive Zavorotnyuk in a different role. The actress dared to change her film genre and starred in the action film “Apocalypse Code.”

Zavorotnyuk is a sought-after TV presenter. In total, the Russian film star’s filmography includes more than 26 film projects and 18 works on television shows.

On the set of “My Fair Nanny,” an office romance broke out between her and her partner Sergei Zhigunov. This event caused a loud scandal, since at that time both artists were married. The lovers divorced and plunged headlong into a new relationship. The feelings quickly cooled down and the couple separated. In 2008, Anastasia married figure skater Pyotr Chernyshev. In 2020, the 47-year-old film actress became a mother for the third time.

Family

In 2020, a lot of conflicting information about the actress’s health appeared in the media. Her family did not give any comments, only refuted the very terrible headlines. However, Zavorotnyuk has not appeared in public since then.

Cast

  • Anastasia Zavorotnyuk - Victoria Vladimirovna Shatalina
    (nee
    Prutkovskaya
), nanny of Maxim Viktorovich’s children, later his wife. Born on April 1 in the early 1970s in Odessa. She spent her childhood in Mariupol, although some episodes say that she studied at school in Biryulyovo. She diligently hides her age (in the first seasons it is said that she is 33 years old), but often finds herself on the verge of failure. A hairdresser by profession, she studied at a vocational school. Graduated from modeling school. He loves discos, all kinds of parties, bright, martial makeup and provocative clothes. Before working as a nanny, she sold wedding clothes in a boutique run by her boyfriend Anton. Has friends Vera (in the first episodes) and Galya. A lively, pretty and kind girl, she often finds herself in embarrassing, absurd situations, but always finds a way out of them. She loves the children Shatalin, Konstantin Nikolaevich and her family, consisting of mother Lyuba, father Vladimir and woman Nadya. She literally dreams of a wedding with Shatalin, just like her mother Lyubov Grigorievna. In the finale of the 6th season, she becomes Maxim's legal wife.
  • Sergei Zhigunov - Maxim Viktorovich Shatalin
, a famous Russian producer, in season 7 - Victoria's husband. After his first wife Olga died, he became a confirmed bachelor. Feelings between Maxim and Vika appear already in season 1 and develop with each episode, but Maxim still does not dare to take the first step and tries to keep Victoria at a distance. In season 3, Maxim recklessly confesses his love to her when they both get into turbulence on an airplane, but in the next episode he takes his words back, which infuriates her. From that moment on, their relationship changes: Vika knows about his feelings, but understands that she cannot wait for him forever. Maxim, in turn, is in no hurry to take a step towards Victoria, but nevertheless he is jealous of her gentlemen and is afraid that he may lose her. In season 6, he proposes to her and they get married. Maxim is a loving father and husband. In a difficult relationship with his mother. Observes the relationship between Victoria and Maxim and tries to make every effort to develop it. He does not miss the opportunity to make fun of Zhanna Arkadyevna, often makes caustic comments about her, sometimes gets along with her and loves her. Proposes to her in the series finale. Konstantin is smart, resourceful, kind. He likes to eavesdrop and spy in order to be aware of all the events in the house, which those around him almost always know in advance. He constantly makes jokes in the English style, which is due to his former work at the Soviet embassy in Great Britain.
  • Olga Prokofieva - Zhanna Arkadyevna Izhevskaya
, financial director. She works with Maxim in his house and takes care of him, it seems to her that she is in love (which may have actually been the case), and therefore dreams of marrying him to herself, but her confidence in her ambitious plans is gradually lost. He continues to fawn over Shatalin even after his marriage to Victoria. He does not feel any affection for Maxim’s children, sometimes even forgets their names, hates nanny Vika and dreams of her dismissal. Constantly becomes the object of Konstantin’s jokes and finds himself in unpleasant situations arranged by him, but this peculiar, almost school-style attention from a man becomes a reason to start an affair. Konstantin proposes to her at the end of season 7. Despite her complex character, Zhanna is an irreplaceable worker, has many connections, is smart and prudent, has business acumen, and without her help Maxim would have had a hard time. Both Maxim Viktorovich and his mother, and Zhanna and his father have a difficult relationship. Zhanna Arkadyevna also has a brother, Arnold.
  • Lyubov Polishchuk - Lyubov Grigorievna Prutkovskaya
, Vika’s mother. He has numerous relatives: Khabarovsk, Kyiv, Mariupol, St. Petersburg, Vladivostok, etc. - these are the cities where the numerous Prutkovsky clan lives. Throughout the history of the sitcom, the Prutkovskys’ relatives constantly visit the Shatalins’ house (sometimes even for no reason). Lyubov Grigorievna is a woman who loves to eat, especially loves boiled pork, as well as sweets. Sometimes he is depressed because of his diet. At any time of the day or night, she can appear in the Shatalins’ house and ask the butler Konstantin to cook something tasty for her. An active, loud-voiced woman, she constantly mentors her daughter Vika and controls her mother, Baba Nadya. He dreams of marrying Vika to Maxim. Lyubov Grigorievna is a kind, sincere woman who is not used to hiding her feelings and emotions - she can both slap you and kiss you. She sincerely loves Max and the children, and she and Konstantin are generally good friends. In connection with the death of Lyubov Polishchuk, after season 6, according to the plot, her heroine also died.
  • Alexander Filippenko - Vladimir Vladimirovich Prutkovsky
, Vika's father. Until season 7, he was not shown on camera; he appeared in the series after the death of actress Lyubov Polishchuk, who played the role of mother Victoria Vladimirovna. Born in St. Petersburg, as mentioned in the first episode. According to Lyubov Grigorievna, she is a plumber by profession. Wears a bright red wig, hiding his bald spot. A boastful and roguish, elderly man, but diligently rejuvenating. A freeloader and lover of easy money. He likes to drink and lie, which often puts his daughter and other relatives in an awkward position.
  • Irina Andreeva - Ksenia Maksimovna Shatalina
, the youngest daughter of Maxim Viktorovich. A very serious and “advanced” girl who visits a psychoanalyst. Sprinkles with various scientific terms, especially in the first seasons. Smart, a little reserved, but in the process of communicating with Vika and her relatives, she opens up and finds friends.
  • Ekaterina Dubakina - Maria Maksimovna Shatalina
, the eldest daughter of Maxim Viktorovich. Born in mid-late January. He constantly has affairs with guys and tries to leave home for various dubious events, which often angers his father. Friendly and quite sociable, she quickly found a common language with Vika.
  • Pavel Serdyuk - Denis Maksimovich Shatalin
, son of Maxim Viktorovich. Wants to appear older than his age, does not always get along with his father. He often quarrels with his sisters. Likes to seek support from Vicki. Denis loves to have fun, joke, he is quite witty and resourceful. Sometimes he can be vulgar, and is fond of “adult magazines.”
  • Alexandra Nazarova - Nadezhda Mikhailovna (Baba Nadya)
, Vika's grandmother. A peculiar, shocking woman with terrifying manners, but a kind heart. Suffering from senile sclerosis. She considers Maxim to be Vika’s husband almost from the first episode, and Maxim’s children to also be Vika’s children; she often cannot remember their names, while at the same time she forgets that her daughter has been married for a long time. She doesn't like her son-in-law, but after her daughter's death her attitude towards him warms up. Despite his age, he is interested in men, mostly his own age.
  • Gulnara Nizhinskaya - Vera
, Vika's friend. I worked with Vika in a boutique in Biryulyovo. An extravagant girl with a strange appearance, reminiscent of emo style. Wears short hair. He often informs Vika about the latest events in the lives of Anton and Svetlana, his new bride, as a result of which the viewer is almost completely aware of the course of their relationship. After season 3, actress Gulnara Nijinskaya refused to renew her contract, as a result of which the heroine disappeared from the series.
  • Olesya Zheleznyak - Galya Kopylova
, Vika's friend and former classmate. Appeared in episode 50. Good-natured and cheerful, active. A little stupid. Vika sometimes reminds her of this, and not always politely, because compared to Gali she looks impressive. Galya is a girl of unknown age, but in one of the episodes it is mentioned that Vika is approximately two years younger than her.

Five differences and mistakes between the original sitcom and My Fair Nanny

Name. Well, of course, the name. If in the American version they decided to limit themselves only “in fact” to the title “Nanny”, then in the Russian version the scriptwriters expanded the title of the sitcom and even touched on one famous work! Thus, the original title of the sitcom was “mixed” with Bernard Shaw’s play “My Fair Lady” and the result was a story not only about a rich family to which a poor nanny comes, but also a philosophical view of the series itself, because as we got to know the Shatalins, life in in the center of Moscow and communicating with bohemians, Victoria Prutkovskaya is changing for the better, becoming more educated, more self-possessed and mature.

Nationality of the main character. In the American version of the series, Fran Fine was a Jewish woman from Queens who had many relatives throughout the United States. However, in the Russian version they decided to change the nationality of the main character, since by making the nanny Jewish, there was a high probability of running into misunderstandings and even a scandal. Victoria Prutkovskaya, with the help of the scriptwriters, became Ukrainian, but this did not make her have fewer relatives. The only thing that was originally planned was that the nanny Vika herself came to Moscow not so long ago to work. During the development of the script, the idea changed - they decided that Vika herself moved to Moscow with her parents while still in school.

Sister of Victoria Prutkovskaya. One of the main “blunders” of the series is the presence of Victoria Prutkovskaya’s sister Nina. In the American version, Fran did not have any siblings, while “our” nanny was given a sister. This is how Ninochka appeared, about whom Victoria Prutkovskaya constantly recalls and tells funny stories, and in episode 25, her sister even lives with Victoria, experiencing a serious breakdown in her relationship with her husband.

At the same time, Vicky’s sister is a huge “blunder” or even a hole in the script, since she causes a lot of strange things. In many memories from Victoria’s childhood, Nina does not appear (only once, when Anastasia Zavorotnyuk herself played Vika Prutkovskaya’s mother in a flashback). Even Vika’s own mother (at the same time Nina’s mother) always remembers only her youngest daughter and speaks of her as the only one - “this is my only Vikusha.” True, at the same time, in the 60th episode he mentions that it was Nina who became the reason for the marriage.

Nina is practically not remembered by Lyuba’s mother (Lyubov Polishchuk), but she plays this out in the 25th episode, where Nonna Grishaeva plays her sister. Nina reports: “Mom forgot that she had two daughters, all her life she only talked about Vika.” In addition, Nina has two children, but mother Lyuba constantly says that she would like to babysit her grandchildren.

Birthday of Victoria Prutkovskaya. In many episodes it is mentioned that Victoria Prutkovskaya’s birthday is April 2 or “in early April,” as was said, and she was born in the seventh month of pregnancy, and not like everyone else - in the ninth. However, in various episodes it is also mentioned that Prutkovskaya was born on New Year's Eve (“you pulled me out from the table, like on your birthday”). One day, Victoria remembers a birthday party in nature: “we found that nature in the yard, near the transformer booth in forty-degree frost,” which does not at all fit with the idea of April. Therefore, Victoria's birthday, as well as her age, are a secret.

The age difference between Shatalin's children. This is also a huge blunder of the entire series. According to the plot of the first season, Ksyusha, the youngest, is seven years old and is in second grade. Masha Shatalina is 14, and Denis is 11 years old. After a while, Masha celebrates her 16th birthday and enters tenth grade. However, the actions of the seventh season suggest that Masha’s age is a mystery, since the events in it develop a year and a half after the wedding, when Victoria Prutkovskaya’s mother died. Masha, according to the script, should have already turned 18 and should have graduated from school. However, Masha is still in school. In addition, the age difference between Masha and Denis is regularly decreasing. Either he is three years younger than Masha, then he is already five years, then in one of the episodes, the difference between them is a little more than two years.

Boris Smolkin as Konstantin Semenov

The series “My Fair Nanny” gave the actor not only popular love, but also the opportunity to actively act in film after 55 years. Smolkin teaches acting in St. Petersburg, plays in theater and cinema. At one time, the artist tried himself as a TV presenter. He hosted the television quiz show “The Price of Fortune” and the comedy show “This is Funny!” The artist admits that he often gets minor and episodic roles. Among his major recent works are the series “Twelve Wonders” and the film “Dinosaur”.

The artist's first marriage broke up. After the divorce, Smolkin was lucky enough to meet a new love. The chosen one turned out to be 23 years younger, but the age difference did not prevent the couple from getting married and becoming parents.

Boris Smolkin - butler Konstantin

Work in the series brought Boris national love. The butler Konstantin became the personification of sarcasm and elegant malice. His verbal skirmishes with Zhanna Arkadyevna (Olga Prokofieva) were no less interesting to the viewer than the TV novel by Anastasia Zavorotnyuk and Sergei Zhigunov.

The artist tried himself as a TV presenter, taking part in the popular TV shows “The Price of Fortune” on NTV and “This is Funny!” on the Russia-1 channel. But the role of the cunning and witty butler brought the actor long-awaited fame at the age of 56. After 30 years of a not entirely successful career as an actor, he began to be recognized on the streets.

The granddaughter of the star of the series “My Fair Nanny” learned about the death of her grandmother from her friends

She is an actress in the “second half of life,” when fame, recognition and love from the audience comes to an end. At the end of creative life. But better late than never. Thanks to the roles that made her famous, mainly in the popular TV series “Brigada” and “My Fair Nanny,” Alexandra Nazarova was called the “All-Russian grandmother.” And few people knew that her main role in life was also her grandmother. A single grandmother, as she jokingly and not without pride called herself.

Alexandra Ivanovna raised her ten-year-old granddaughter Sashenka, the daughter of her only son Dmitry, who died under strange circumstances. Friends hinted that drugs were to blame. Then Dmitry's wife died. And two-year-old Sashenka was left an orphan. The girl was sent to an orphanage. Alexandra Ivanovna then swore that she would take her granddaughter from the state-owned house to her place. So I did. Since then, she lived and worked for the sake of the girl who became her anchor in life.

Dmitry died under strange circumstances

On July 9, the actress became ill at the dacha. Lost consciousness. Only Sasha was nearby, and she called an ambulance. Nazarova was taken to the nearest hospital in Sergiev Posad, and from there to a medical center in Khimki. She was connected to a ventilator; she could not breathe on her own due to long-standing health problems (she smoked a lot). And melted before our eyes. The only thing that gave me the strength to resist the inevitable was thoughts about Sashenka. When her grandmother was taken to the hospital, Sasha lived for almost a month in the house of the chairman of the dacha cooperative, Marina. Together with the cat. Then the girl was sent to a camp at sea. She is still vacationing in Anapa.

Due to the chaos of moving from hospital to hospital, loss of memory and telephone, they could not immediately find relatives. Then relatives were found. They brought Sasha’s portrait to the hospital. Alexandra Ivanovna died just like that, peering into the face of her beloved granddaughter. Who will the girl stay with? This question worried her most.

Alexandra Nazarova was called the “All-Russian grandmother” Photo: Larisa KUDRYAVTSEVA/EG

We asked the same question to the girl’s great-aunt, Alexandra Dmitrievna Mikhailova . She is the sister of actress Alexandra Nazarova’s second husband, Yuri Mikhailov (Sasha’s grandfather). As we understand, the Mikhailov family is a large one - sisters, nieces, and most importantly - friendly.

- Don’t worry, Sashenka will live in her apartment in her usual environment, surrounded by her loving family. In September she will go to her school in the 5th grade.

The girl has a second guardian - my niece, 34-year-old Nadezhda, who is Sasha’s second cousin. When Alexandra Ivanovna began looking for a second guardian for her granddaughter, she chose the young and energetic Nadya. Now she is resting in Svetlogorsk. Therefore, when Sasha returns from Anapa, she will live with me - either at her home on Preobrazhenka, or at my dacha, where she vacationed last year.

Alexandra Ivanovna did not particularly advertise that Sasha had a large family. Apparently, it was convenient for her to look like a single grandmother raising her granddaughter. Actors always work for their image. And Sasha has a sea of relatives and a large family - five second cousins, two great-aunts - the sisters of her grandfather Yuri Mikhailov. The girl knows everyone well, we communicate constantly.

Although the matter is old, Alexandra Ivanovna was offended by my brother Yura, her second husband, with whom she separated (in 2000, he was killed with two shots at point-blank range in his home - Ed.). She said that she loved him crazy. But it didn’t work out. Therefore, there was a distance from our relatives. And little Sasha was close friends with us. We celebrated her birthdays, she came to ours.

There shouldn't be any problems. If a second guardian is needed, there is another cousin - Tatyana Nikolaevna. She is an honored teacher, a teacher with extensive experience. By the way, I am a candidate of pedagogical sciences. There are people in our family who would happily take care of a child.

In any case, the board of guardians will choose from the proposed candidates.

— Does Sasha know that her grandmother died?

“We didn’t want to upset her ahead of time, but her friends at the camp, of course, told her everything as soon as the sad news appeared on the Internet. Sasha was crying. But they decided not to bring her to the funeral.

Alexandra Nazarova in the series “My Fair Nanny”

— Alexandra Ivanovna said that she made a will in advance. Despite the fact that she would have turned 80 next year, she was a sought-after actress, acted a lot and played in plays. Earned...

“She was treated wonderfully at the theater, she is a friendly, sympathetic, very positive person, she worked until the last day, and did not need anything. She earned an apartment, a dacha, and a car through her own labor. And of course, she bequeathed everything to her granddaughter. But frankly speaking, the property issue does not interest us. The main thing is that we love Sasha.
