Russian man Vladimir Ilyin

Biography

Vladimir Ilyin was born in Sverdlovsk on November 16, 1947.
His father, Adolf Ilyin, worked as an actor at the Sverdlovsk Drama Theater. Therefore, Vladimir, together with his brother Alexander, spent a lot of time in the theater since childhood. And his mother is an honored worker of medicine, a pediatrician. As a child, Vladimir especially loved going fishing with his father. After finishing eight years of school, he had to work to help his mother and brother, because his father left the family. During the day, Ilyin worked as a laboratory assistant, and in the evening he studied at a school for working youth.

In 1969, Vladimir graduated from the Sverdlovsk Theater School, course F.G. Grigoryan. Then he worked at the Skomorokh theater, with whose troupe he was able to visit many cities of the former USSR. Then Vladimir moved to Kazan, and a few years later to Moscow, where he worked in 1974-1989 at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theater. By the way, his father and later his brother also worked there. It was after Vladimir’s participation in the performances of director Andrei Goncharov that they began to talk about him as a unique and original actor.

New Age

Having become a graduate of the Shchukin School, Ilyin starred in two popular television projects at once - “Three against all” and “FM and the guys”. It is interesting that his character in the series “Three Against All” is strikingly different from the character played by Alexei in “Simple Truths”. He embodied the image of a positive Matvey, ready to fight for the triumph of justice by any means.

The break in the actor's career took several years; this time was devoted to service in the Russian Army Theater. Then he played small roles in the films “New Year Fr. 2004 turned out to be successful for the young man, when he was invited to the television project “Carmelita”. This series also starred Alexey Ilyin, an actor whose personal life and biography are discussed in this article. He embodied the vivid image of the hero-lover Maxim, who steals the heart of a gypsy princess. It is also worth mentioning the film “Confrontation”, in which he played Vasya Sofronov. The plot revolves around the struggle of law enforcement agencies with a criminal group operating on the territory of Moldova.

In 2020, the series “Poor People” was released, in which Alexey received the role of writer Danila Basov.

Movie

Vladimir’s film debut took place in the film “Zhenya, Zhenechka and Katyusha,” where he had a cameo role. The actor gained fame after working in the film “My Favorite Clown.” At that time, Ilyin was already almost forty years old.

Today, the actor has several dozen roles in films, including such films as “Accident - the Cop’s Daughter”, “Anchor, More Anchor!”, “Muslim”, “Burnt by the Sun”, “The Barber of Siberia”, “I Want to prison", "Taras Bulba", "Poddubny", "Anna Karenina", "Coach" and others.

Personal life

Thirty years ago, Vladimir Ilyin married the bright and talented theater actress Zoya Pylnova. The couple are still together to this day. They value each other very much. They have a very warm and tender relationship. Unfortunately, the Ilyins were not destined to become parents. Of the six attempts to give birth to a child, not one was successful. But Vladimir and Zoya do not fall into despair. There are always a lot of children in their house - brother Vladimir has three children (who, by the way, also became actors), and they are always welcome guests in the Ilyins’ house.

Zoya and Vladimir are deeply religious people. The wife left the stage a long time ago and now serves as a regent in the church. They live very modestly. They do a lot of charity work. This amazing married couple doesn't need fame or money. The main thing is that the person dear to your heart is healthy, happy and calm. They instantly respond to any request for help, no matter who it comes from.

Russian man Vladimir Ilyin

Those closest to him affectionately call him Fork. And this touching address, composed of the first letters of the first and last name, contains incredible love for a deep person and a true professional. He is completely devoid of stardom, does not teach anyone, does not like to give interviews, and for many years has remained a truly people's artist. This year is an anniversary for Vladimir Ilyin. Tomorrow, November 16, he will turn 70 years old.

I adore Ilyin! When you look at him in films or plays, you forget that he is an artist. His appearance is not that of an actor; you won’t notice that in a crowd. Vladimir Adolfovich does not play a role - he lives in them. Simple and talented! For the most part, his characters are positive, “simple,” which comes from the character of the actor himself. I want to know more about good people. I found some information about him and want to share with you.

"Merry Kaleidoscope" (1974)

Vladimir Adolfovich Ilyin was born in the fall of 1947 in Sverdlovsk. It is interesting that his father, Adolf Alekseevich, was also an actor and worked all his life in the theater in his hometown. Even difficult wartime did not alienate the man from the creative profession. Four and a half years later, Volodya had a brother, Sasha. When the sons were teenagers, the father left for another woman. Left with an older man, Vladimir transferred to a school for working youth, where he studied in the evenings and during the day worked as a laboratory assistant, grinding harmful chemicals at one of the city’s enterprises. The sons did not interrupt communication with their father, Adolf Ilyin, who by that time had become a famous actor in Sverdlovsk.

"Chasing Glory" (1956)

“Zhenya, Zhenechka and Katyusha” (1967)

“Zhenya, Zhenechka and Katyusha” (1967). Father and son in the frame.

"The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson"

"The Strogoffs" (1976)

Of course, he dreamed that his children would follow in his footsteps. The mother of the future People's Artist worked as a pediatrician. And she, in turn, wanted the boys to choose a more down-to-earth profession.

"Ward No. 6" (2009)

It is not surprising, because at that time she could not even imagine that her beloved Volodya would become famous throughout the country.

The younger Ilyin spent his childhood with his brother behind the scenes of the theater. Mom was often busy at the hospital, so father took the children with him to work. As a result, the children were greatly affected by the behind-the-scenes activities. Already in the first grade, when asked about their future profession, they confidently answered that they wanted to become actors. And the father tried in every possible way to strengthen these thoughts in them.

In general, Vladimir was a very versatile child as a child. Among his huge number of hobbies were figure skating and ballet school. Now, looking at the famous actor, it’s hard to believe that he once regularly practiced ballet. But this hobby did not last long. As soon as the younger Ilyin got into the theater club, he began to devote all his free time to this particular activity.

By the way, everyone who was familiar with the Ilyin brothers noted that despite their outward rudeness, the guys were always distinguished by amazing kindness, gentleness and intelligence. This is not surprising, because even though she was very busy, my mother devoted a lot of time and attention to raising her children.

In the future, Vladimir’s delicacy and friendliness were repeatedly noticed by his colleagues on the theater and film sets. He never tried to “snatch” the best role for himself. In addition, the actor was always ready to lend his shoulder to his comrades on stage and never refused to help anyone.

On the set of the film "Ivanov"

Ilyin spent his school years in Sverdlovsk. When the time came to choose a place to enroll, the young man did not dream of the capital or other big cities and stayed to study in his hometown. He easily managed to enter the local theater school. It is interesting that it was here that Vladimir’s father also studied at one time.

“Very bright, agile, lively, the eye threw lightning in all directions, as if it was born on stage,” recalled the young student Azalia Blinova, who taught at the department of stage speech. “The leader of my course, Volodya used to get into trouble. He will tell the teacher what he thinks about him, and he will run to the dean to complain. As a result, administrative penalties were imposed on Ilyin.

Ilyin Jr. completed his last course in 1969, after which he began an active search for a theater suitable for work.

The very first theater on the stage of which Vladimir managed to apply his theoretical knowledge after college was “Skomorokh”. But under the leadership of Gennady Yudenich, Ilyin worked for only a short time. He quickly realized that this place was completely unsuitable for him. But during his collaboration with “Skomorokh”, Vladimir Adolfovich still managed to travel around half the country on tour. The actor continued his search in the capital. There he was lucky enough to get into the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theater.

His most notable role in this theater was in the play “Agent 00,” which was staged by A. Goncharov. It should be noted that most of Ilyin’s roles were small, minor and even episodic, but this did not bother Vladimir. Actors always talk about him as a person who went on stage with pleasure, who happily improvised. Ilyin really liked the new place, so he soon did everything possible to include his younger brother and father among his colleagues. The whole family moved to the capital. Vladimir worked in his favorite theater until 1989. He was forced to leave this place by being very busy in cinema. By the way, Ilyin managed to begin to develop in this area only in adulthood. Vladimir Ilyin started acting in films late. Ilyin played his first role, Roman from the melodrama “My Favorite Clown,” when he was already 39 years old. Before this, the actor appeared on screens, but he only got small, unnoticeable roles. The audience really liked the film and brought fame to Vladimir Adolfovich.

Then there was the main role in the socio-psychological drama “Defender Sedov”, in which he played lawyer Sedov, who took up the task of saving convicted intellectual specialists from an unjust death sentence.

and other works, but the drama “Accident – the Cop’s Daughter” brought real success to the actor. When Vladimir Ilyin appeared as a traffic cop, the audience was amazed by his accurate hit on the target. For the first time, a Soviet policeman was not a model of bravado and wisdom, but appeared on the screen as an ordinary taciturn peasant, a loving but clumsy father.

A year later, Ilyin played the unfortunate writer Rakhlin in “The Hat”...

the fool Artyusha in “The Swarm”...

and KGB officer Malakhov in “Lost in Siberia” - the images are absolutely dissimilar, even opposite.

From this moment the “star” biography of Vladimir Ilyin begins.

After the release of each new film, viewers never tired of being amazed at how talented and multifaceted the actor turned out to be.

Somehow, many years later, a program about Vladimir Ilyin appeared on the screens - “He is not an artist at all...”. This title was not chosen by chance. Ilyin really looks more like a village fisherman than an actor; he does not have the appearance and texture of a “star”. But it was precisely his outward inconspicuousness and undeniable talent that attracted directors of the 90s and soon became one of the most sought-after actors in post-Soviet cinema. Moreover, he was often invited by directors who had already come into contact with him on the set.

For the most part, Ilyin’s characters are positive, “simple,” which comes from the character of the actor himself.

This is his Savelich, an old servant who fatherly takes care of his young master Grinev in the drama “Russian Revolt” (2000), based on the story “The Captain’s Daughter” and “The History of the Pugachev Rebellion” by A. S. Pushkin.

Such is the talented nugget Semyon Lyamkin in the comedy “I Want to Go to Prison” (1998), who, having gotten into trouble due to other people’s financial frauds, tries to hide from Russian justice in a Dutch prison.

Or, for example, the former Russian journalist German, trying to use the “time corridor” that allows him to travel to the 1960s and back, in the melodrama “The Restless Sagittarius” (1993).

Vladimir Ilyin also worked in Nikita Mikhalkov’s projects. Kirik took root in the drama “Burnt by the Sun” (1994) and its sequel, making the audience smile and feel sad

...and for the role of Captain Mokin in the film novel “The Barber of Siberia” (1998), Ilyin was awarded the Golden Aries Award for Best Supporting Actor in 1999 and the State Prize of Russia in 2000.

The actor did not refuse to work in TV series. His performance can be observed in “Turkish March”, “Queen Margot”, “Secrets of Palace Coups”, “War and Peace”, “Detective Putilin”, “Doctor Zhivago”...

By the way, the unusual middle name played a funny thing with Ilyin. Svetlana Druzhinina, starting her epic “Palace Revolutions,” said to Ilyin: “You are Adolfovich with us, so you will play a German.” He got the role of Vice-Chancellor Osterman. And the German’s wife was played by Ilyin’s wife Zoya.

For me personally, as a great admirer of the work of Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, the superbly played role of Lebedev in the television serial film “The Idiot” (I don’t even dare to call it a series) stands out.

He had other wonderful roles...

"Ivan Poddubny"

Currently, Vladimir Adolfovich continues to act in films. One of the last works was the role of scientist, design engineer, founder of Soviet cosmonautics Sergei Pavlovich Korolev in the film “The Time of the First.” May fans of Mironov and Khabensky forgive me, but in my opinion, Ilyin outplayed both of them combined.

He does not forget about his favorite theater. The actor periodically goes on stage when he has a break between filming. The actor is currently playing in the production of “The Cherry Orchard,” where he appears on stage in the role of Gaev.

Surprisingly, the media never mentions scandals in which People's Artist of the Russian Federation Vladimir Adolfovich Ilyin took part. His biography is typical of an actor of the old theater school. As for his personal life, for more than 30 years Ilyin has been faithful to his first and only wife Zoya Pylnova.

Previously, she served in the Taganka Theater, but for the sake of her family she decided to give up her acting career.

Their acquaintance happened as follows. In the summer of 1970, Volodya went on vacation to Sverdlovsk to visit his mother. Artists from the capital’s Taganka Theater came there to give concerts, and among them was Ilyin’s future wife, Zoya Pylnova. In the shaggy guy in a stretched sweater, Pylnova did not immediately discern her destiny. They say that the lively girl simply destroyed her boyfriend with poisonous Odessa jokes. Although Zoya herself was born in the Urals - in the village of Salda, she studied to become an actress in Odessa, and then ended up in Moscow in the then super-popular troupe of Yuri Lyubimov. Despite the fact that she was unlucky with the main roles, she felt equal on the same stage with Vysotsky. Theatergoers remember how poignantly she played Gella in The Master and Margarita. Zoya has always been extravagant,” smiles her friend, actress Elena Kornilova. “And although she never had any money to her name (she received only 75 rubles at the theater), she always dressed smartly. For example, she charmed Ilyin with a stunning miniskirt. I sewed things for myself. On tour, I bought fabrics, hooks, laces and put it all into use.

Zoya Vladimirovna’s creative biography includes not only service at the Taganka Theater, but also work as a voice-over artist for cartoons. It is in her voice that the piglet Funtik from the famous series of cartoons speaks and sings. She also voiced the Little Wolf from the cartoon “Big Ear” and Nehochukha. The actress also participated in the dubbing of the animated films “KOAPP”, “On the Road with the Clouds” and many others.

Zoya left the stage a long time ago and now serves as a regent in the church.

The couple live very modestly. No matter how much they earn, they never have money. The reason is simple - they are just the kind of people who cannot calmly pass by the poor and needy, they help the church a lot and do charity work. It should be noted that Vladimir and Zoya are generally deeply religious people. One incident in the biography of Vladimir Adolfovich once again confirmed that faith helps them not only to live, but also to survive...

At the end of the 1980s, Vladimir Adolfovich came to the city of Dnepropetrovsk on tour with the Mayakovsky Theater. After the performance, they decided to swim in the Dnieper with Alexander Kalaganov. Ilyin, taking a running dive, crashed into the bottom (the river was very shallow in that place) and cracked his skull. I had to urgently undergo surgery. Things were going badly, despite the fact that Armen Dzhigarkhanyan obtained medicines that were in short supply at that time. Life was in the balance. Vladimir began to recover only when Zoya, having learned about the misfortune, lit a candle in the church. After that incident, the film artist became a deeply religious person and still strictly observes all fasts.

Zoya Ilyina once told in one of her programs how one day, passing by the station, Vladimir gave a very good, expensive, warm jacket given to him to a beggar and came home wearing only his jacket (and it was winter).

Actress Inna Ulyanova, who knew the Ilyins quite well, admitted that Volodya and Zoya did not need anything: neither money, nor fame, they value each other very much and are always ready to help others in any trouble. She noted that Vladimir “is tenderness itself, this tenderness is reflected in everything: how he looks, how he says, what he does. He has very kind eyes."

The Ilyina couple were never able to give birth to their own children. In the documentary, Ilyin said that Zoya had six attempts, but was not successful. When Zoya became pregnant for the sixth time, she was very afraid of losing her child again and went to the priest. He said: “If you give birth, you will die immediately.” To the question: why? the answer was: “It’s none of your business to know what your other mission is on Earth.” But the Ilyins are not killed by loneliness, since there are always many children around. So his brother Alexander has three children who also chose the acting path.

Alexander Adolfovich Ilyin - Vladimir’s younger brother

Ilya Ilyin - nephew

Alexey Ilyin - nephew

Alexander Ilyin Jr. - nephew

The modest but very talented actor Vladimir Ilyin was able to fulfill his dream and get to work in the theater. Today the whole country knows him, but the man himself does not like social events and publicity. He tries to spend all his free time with his family.

Dear Vladimir Adolfovich! Of course, I understand that you will never read these lines, but I want to say. You are one of my favorite actors. I have watched many films with your participation, and you brought some unique Russian charm to each of them. A kind of combination of openness, simplicity, kindness and, somewhere, recklessness. But your heroes are far from being fools, as it might seem at first glance. There is some kind of mystery in them. I sincerely wish you to live and create for people for a very, very long time! And of course I wish you love: for life, for your loved ones, for your heroes! Best wishes to you. For me, you are the personification of all the best that is in a RUSSIAN PERSON.

Direct speech

ABOUT WORK: “I love to study. I love rehearsals when the director deals with the actors. In Nyakrosius’s play “The Cherry Orchard” I play Gaev. So Eymuntas rehearsed with everyone, and told me that I was doing everything right without him. And he doomed me to eternal torment... Shakhnazarov had other torments on the set of “Ward No. 6”. He asked me not to play at all. It was so hard to play as if I wasn’t playing...”

ABOUT NATURE: “I don’t understand how people don’t see or feel the beauty that is around. I'm very ashamed of them. And anger takes over that no one wants to understand: the global arrangement of life begins with small things. From cleaning the place where you live or visit.”

ABOUT YOUR FAVORITE ROLE: “Maybe Babaskin from the movie “The Money Changers,” where we met Georgy Shengelia. I played a drunkard, a tramp. He finds himself in various comedic situations, the same time of action - 1961, monetary reform. And at some point my ex-convict appears in a jacket and a medal on his lapel. And this detail says so much about the past of a seemingly absurd person. Every comedy has a hidden sadness.”

“He’s not an artist at all...”

This was once the name of a program dedicated to Ilyin. And it is not named so by chance. In fact, Vladimir looks more like a neighbor on the landing, a fisherman on the lake, a turner after his shift, than an actor. But it was precisely this inconspicuous appearance and his greatest talent that made him one of the most sought-after and popular actors in Russian cinema in the nineties. It is important that quite often he was invited by directors who had already worked with him once.

As a rule, films with Vladimir Ilyin are filled with the naturalness and good nature of his characters. This largely comes from the character of the actor himself. Remember Savelich from the film “Russian Revolt” (2000) or Semyon Lyamkin in the comedy “I Want to Go to Prison” (1998), who got into trouble because of other people’s financial frauds. Or German, a former Russian journalist from the film “The Restless Sagittarius” (1993), who seeks to use the “corridor of time” to freely move into the sixties. No less interesting are his roles in the films “No need to be sad!” and “The Hare over the Abyss” are films that you can relax your soul when watching.

The actor has been working a lot lately. We will introduce you to his most striking works of this period. Vladimir Ilyin, whose filmography includes one hundred (!) films, is still in great demand today. The most famous directors of the country are waiting for him on their film sets. Many of them are confident that films starring Vladimir Ilyin are doomed to success.
