Where was I born and raised?

Olga Viktorovna Shuvalova was born in 1966. She celebrates her birthday on March 27 every year. Since childhood, Olga had an analytical mind. After graduating from school, the girl entered the legal profession. It was during her student years that Olga met Igor Shuvalov. Olga Viktorovna Shuvalova’s maiden name does not appear anywhere. The woman tries not to advertise her life before meeting the politician.

In 1992 they had a wedding. A year later, the couple had a son, Evgeniy. After graduating from college, the young woman went to work as a secretary in court. She spent two years in this position. Now Olga admits that she worked in court only for the sake of experience. This experience had a positive impact on the girl’s future career.

Olga Viktorovna Shuvalova’s parents always believed in their daughter’s success and supported her in any decision. They helped with raising my first child. The British publication made a small mistake in its publication, placing instead of a photograph of the wife of the First Deputy Prime Minister a portrait of her namesake - a 27-year-old Russian actress, known for a number of roles in Guardian TV series

Traces of the wife of Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Olga, around whom a scandal flared up a year ago but quickly subsided due to the leak of compromising business documents, were found offshore. The lady's name is mentioned in the lists of asset owners in a number of offshore zones, British journalists claim.

Olga Shuvalova is on the list of owners of companies registered in offshore companies, in particular in the British Virgin Islands, writes The Guardian. The newspaper refers to the international media association International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICoIJ), which has been involved in investigative journalism since the late 1990s. One of the recent ones is dedicated to famous offshore enthusiasts.

According to the information available to ICoIJ, which is published by friendly publications, in particular, The Guardian, the former Minister of Finance of Mongolia, one of the organizers of the election campaign of French President Francois Hollande, the family of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and many others have savings offshore. In general, a total of about $20 trillion is securely stored in offshore accounts around the world, the newspaper writes.

Among Russians, top managers of Russian state corporations and military contractors use offshore accounts, ICoIJ points out on a special “offshore” map of the world. The organization also mentions citizens related to the Magnitsky case.

Olga Shuvalova also allegedly has offshore assets. According to published information, the company Plato Management is registered in the British Virgin Islands, as well as a number of other companies owned by Severin Enterprises Inc. The owner of the latter is Shuvalova; the company was founded with the assistance of the Moscow agency Amond & Smith, The Guardian points out.

The British “married” Shuvalov to an actress

By the way, the British publication made a small mistake in its publication, placing instead of a photograph of the wife of the First Deputy Prime Minister a portrait of her namesake - a 27-year-old Russian actress, known for a number of roles in TV series. Actress Olga Shuvalova looks completely different from the wife of Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov. The appearance of the two women can be compared from their photographs, for example, on the websites of Kino-Teatr and First Internet Television (the latter cites, in particular, photographs widely circulated on the RuNet from the website of dog breeders PembrokCity).

Let us note that Russian journalists reacted extremely restrainedly to the news from Foggy Albion. Few people paid attention to the publication of the British. The exception was the ITAR-TASS agency, which reported on the leak and even re-released the information several times on its internal news feed. For example, with clarification of the name of the Mongolian minister, but the wife of the first deputy head of government still chose not to mention.

The Guardian was unable to obtain comments from representatives of the family of the Russian Deputy Prime Minister regarding offshore affairs, and the publication recalls last year’s scandal in which Olga Shuvalova and her high-ranking husband were drawn into.

Pre-election dirt on Shuvalov

Back in late 2011, the New York business publication Barron's wrote about a 2004 deal involving Olga Shuvalova's company Sevenkey, registered in the Bahamas (according to The Guardian, this is a "Daughter" of Severin Enterprises), as a result of which the government official's family allegedly received 119 million dollars from businessmen Alisher Usmanov and Evgeny Shvidler.

But the businesswoman’s long-standing affairs received wide resonance in early 2012, when the British The Financial Times and the American The Wall Street Journal reported that Shuvalov and his family earned about $80-100 million from transactions with Gazprom shares. According to publications, when in 2004 the government was preparing a reform to liberalize trading in securities of the gas monopolist, a trust registered in the name of Shuvalov’s wife invested $17.7 million in Gazprom shares through Suleiman Kerimov’s Nafta Moscow company. Four years later, the securities were sold at a price several times higher than the original price.

A version has emerged that the incriminating evidence could have leaked to the press at the suggestion of Pavel Ivlev, a former lawyer and Shuvalov’s classmate, who was involved in the legal processing of the family’s transactions. Ivlev, who was involved in the “first YUKOS case” (he was the managing partner of the ALM Feldmans law office, which collaborated with YUKOS), currently lives in the USA and holds the post of director of the Institute of Modern Russia.

Then, on the eve of the change of government, they started talking about the end of Shuvalov’s career in Moscow. However, they stood up for him: everyone knew about the reform, anyone could take the same risk, buy Gazprom shares and soon make money. Shuvalov himself explained himself: having switched to government service, he behaved “as if the government were for me, as a lawyer, its client.”

Less than six months later, a Moscow court confirmed that he was right. He refused to give out details of the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office audit of the Shuvalov family’s business to the Russian woman Natalya Pelevina, who lives in the United States and organized the “Committee for a Democratic Russia” there.

The supervisory agency previously reported: the Shuvalovs are doing everything according to the law. Pelevina tried to initiate an investigation into the Sevenkey company in the USA and Great Britain - Shvidler lives in the former, and Usmanov has a residence permit in the kingdom. But be that as it may, the matter died out in Russia.

How unemployed Olga Shuvalova became the richest wife of an official

It is not clear whether the new leak published by The Guardian will be continued. As for the new “stuffing,” neither Shuvalov nor other government officials have yet provided comments on this matter.

According to available data, the future Shuvalov spouses met in 1988 at a student “potato party”, when both were studying at the Law Faculty of Moscow State University. Their classmate was the future family lawyer Ivlev, as well as Vasily Aleksanyan, and Anton Drel, and Svetlana Bakhmina, said the alleged author of the leak.

When businessman Shuvalov joined the public service in 1997, he transferred the business into trust management in accordance with the law. As a result, Olga Shuvalova from year to year becomes the wealthiest person on the list of spouses of senior government officials. And the lady bypasses many statesmen. For example, in 2012, she took third place in the list of state rich people and their other halves, behind only Alexander Khloponin and Yuri Trutnev. According to the declaration, in 2011 Olga Shuvalova earned 364.964 million rubles.

And this despite the fact that Olga Viktorovna does not work anywhere and does not have a salary, one of Shuvalov’s acquaintances previously pointed out. As for the wealth she earns, it is a consequence of the fact that she receives income from “portfolio investments in securities.”

It is worth noting the fact that the lady’s business activity relieves her husband of the need to report to the state about his large expenses. According to relevant laws and recent presidential decrees, only those expenses of an official that exceed the total income of his family for three years are subject to declaration. “Yes, Shuvalov and Dvorkovich may not report,” the head of the Kremlin administration, Sergei Ivanov, explained the principles of the functioning of anti-corruption legislation.

Career

Shuvalova Olga Viktorovna further built her career in the banking business. She has successfully held senior positions in several prominent financial institutions:

  • 1994 - lawyer at Russian Credit Bank;
  • 1996 - legal consultant in a large company;
  • 1997 - chief economist at the Moscow Bank;
  • 1997-2000 - expert on the board at Inkombank.

Since 1999, the woman has owned shares in large companies. She turned out to be an excellent crisis manager by nature and could quickly move up the career ladder in almost any position that was related to financial issues. She was invited to work by major companies to solve temporary crisis issues.

In 2003, the woman decided to leave her career and take care of her family. She actively begins breeding what was at that time a not very popular breed of dog. Olga showed a love for animals from childhood. She always dreamed of having a rare breed dog.

Movies

A cinematic biography of Olga Shuvalova started in 2000, when the girl was barely 15 years old. The young artist was involved in episodes of the popular St. Petersburg projects “National Security Agent”, “Special Forces 2” and “Streets of Broken Lights”. And although these series did not make Olga a famous actress, a successful start was made. The actress filmed on the same set with actors whose names are familiar throughout the country.

During the filming process, Olga Shuvalova closely watched the performance of the masters and learned a lot from them. This is probably why, after graduating from school, the girl decided not to enter a theater university for now, but to continue working in cinema. Moreover, new proposals from directors were received regularly.

In 2004, Olga Shuvalova starred in the science-fiction thriller “Labyrinths of the Mind.” The actress played a teenage drug addict. And the next year, Olga got one of the central roles in Andrei Kravchuk’s drama “The Italian.” Viewers saw Olga in the role of the orphanage pupil Irka, a 14-year-old prostitute.

This role turned out to be stellar for Shuvalova. Critics and viewers highly appreciated the skill of the young actress. And the film itself received the highest ratings. There was even an idea to send the film to the Oscar film competition, but at the last moment this film was replaced by another.

After the release of The Italian, Olga Shuvalova appears on the screen regularly. Every year 3-4 new films or TV series are released in which the actress plays. The most successful among the recent projects in which the St. Petersburg artist played were the film “Rush Hour” based on the work of the same name by Jerzy Stravinsky and the drama “Everyone will die, but I will stay” by Valeria Gai Germanika.

In the first film, Olga Shuvalova played in tandem with Konstantin Khabensky.

And in the film “Everyone will die, but I will remain” by Guy Germanika, the girl received the main role. The film follows the lives of three high school girls and shows the dark side of the teenage community. Here girls drink alcohol, smoke marijuana, fight over guys, and are also beaten by their parents. It is noteworthy that both the fights and alcohol in the film were filmed for real to make the events more realistic.

Olga Shuvalova in the film “My Happiness”

It is also impossible not to note the film “My Happiness”, where Shuvalova got another star role. Olga presented this talented project at the Cannes Film Festival. This is an international project that was developed by both the Ukrainian film crew and colleagues in Germany and the Netherlands. This is a classic road movie film set in the outback of the former Soviet Union. Olga Shuvalova got the secondary role of a girl prostitute.

But the leading roles did not bypass the actress. In 2012, Olga Shuvalova played the role of Yulia in the Russian-Ukrainian melodrama “Lucky Ticket”. The plot of the film combines two time periods: the perestroika years in the 80s and the much more stable 2000s. The 8-episode film shows how the decisions made by the characters in the first part influenced the events in the lives of these characters.

Olga Shuvalova in the film “Good Hands”

In 2014, the actress starred in the role of Alka Bozhko in the melodrama “Good Hands.” The plot centers on a maternity hospital, which houses both ordinary and high-ranking and wealthy women in labor. The head doctor of the maternity hospital also specially transfers to himself socially disadvantaged women who are ready to give up their newborns.

This allows the doctor to commit forgery: to give abandoned babies to prosperous but childless women. At the same time, from the doctor’s point of view, she is doing a good deed - she prevents children from becoming orphans.

Family assets

Igor Shuvalov has a scandalous reputation in terms of his earnings. Journalists often classify him as one of the most corrupt politicians. When the Deputy Prime Minister took up his post, he transferred all his shares to his wife.

Now Olga Viktorovna Shuvalova manages to earn several million rubles a day as a housewife. Thus, according to 2008 declarations, a woman was able to increase her well-being by more than 300 million.

Even during the crisis years, the politician’s wife was able to survive and have huge incomes from a large number of shares in various enterprises. This success is due to extensive experience working in various companies in difficult times.

Scandals

Igor Shuvalov is considered one of the richest Russian politicians, giving him a reputation as the most corrupt government official.
He often becomes involved in major scandals. It is believed that Igor Shuvalov's main interests lie outside of Russia. The official has so far managed to fend off all attacks from Western and domestic media regarding the dubious legality of his capital. As a result, despite the fact that the official has vast experience and reliable connections in the government apparatus and business, the prospects for his ascension to the very top of power are minimal. At the end of 2011, the American Securities Commission made publicly available information about Shuvalov’s acquisition of assets worth more than $300 million in the United States.

Shuvalov has been involved in corruption scandals more than once

A couple of months later, Alexey Navalny made publicly available documents according to which the Shuvalov family earned millions of dollars from shares in Gazprom and Sibneft, and the money was transferred to Shuvalov through accounts nominally owned by the oligarchs Abramovich and Usmanov.

A year later, Boris Nemtsov convicted Shuvalov of arrears in payment of transport tax in the amount of 300 thousand rubles. Later it turned out that all the politician’s debts had been repaid; it was just that the website of the Federal Tax Service, due to its specifics, reflected the received amounts with a delay.

In 2020, Shuvalov’s wife was caught using on an ongoing basis a private jet worth $50 million that was not declared for their family. It turned out that the plane was used to transport dogs to international exhibitions, and the amount spent on jet flights was, according to the Anti-Corruption Foundation, about 40 million rubles per year.

In the summer of the same year, Alexey Navalny said that Shuvalov was building a “king-apartment” in an elite high-rise building on Kotelnicheskaya Embankment, having bought 10 apartments on the 14th floor of the high-rise, the total cost of which the blogger estimated at 600 million rubles. Shuvalov’s manager replied that the apartments could have been “acquired as part of an investment strategy for asset management” and added that everything was in order with Shuvalov and his family’s property declarations. Shuvalov: “The apartments are 20 square meters. Seems funny..."

Husband of Olga Viktorovna Shuvalova

Since childhood, the girl dreamed of building a successful career and becoming an independent woman. She successfully pursued her goal while studying at school and college. The meeting with Igor did not stop me from bringing my plans to life. She quickly climbed the career ladder, despite the same active growth in her husband’s political activities.

Igor Shuvalov is a famous lawyer and even better known to others as a politician. His career in this field began in the late 90s. Igor Shuvalov has gone through a difficult path in the political sphere. He represented the country at various events of high importance. In 2008, Shuvalov became deputy chairman of the Russian government for the development of medium and small businesses.

This politician is famous for a large number of scandals in the press related to his earnings and financial condition in general. After leaving business for politics, Shuvalov transferred all assets to his wife. At the moment, she manages, while sitting at home, to earn huge money, guided by these values.

Shuvalova Olga Viktorovna, the wife of Igor Shuvalov, always appreciated and rejoiced at her husband’s successes. She tried to be near him more often and helped with advice. The woman has a legal education and could be useful to Igor. With her strong character and education, she initially attracted the guy.

Any advancement up the husband's career ladder was considered a common family victory. For the sake of Shuvalov’s future, his wife completely abandoned her career and devoted herself to raising children and improving their home.

Children of Olga Viktorovna

The politician's family has three heirs. They are comprehensively developed and active. Parents devote maximum time to raising them. The married couple admits that they spare no effort and money on the development of the children.

The birth of their son coincided with the development of the careers of both parents. For this reason, his upbringing in preschool years was mainly done by his grandmothers. Nevertheless, from an early age, Evgeniy showed himself as an independent person. He coped well with his responsibilities around the house and actively developed as an athlete.

The Shuvalovs have a special relationship with the process of development of children. Parents believe that children should not differ from children from average families in the country. The Shuvalovs teach their son and daughters independence from early childhood.

Anastasia and Maria have been involved in gymnastics and dancing from an early age. Now they are studying at the choreographic academy and show great hope for a successful career in this field.

There is very little information about daughters in the press. Parents try to protect girls from unnecessary attention from journalists. The Shuvalovs do not want to involve their daughters in intrigue and gossip.

Personal life

Today, the actress from St. Petersburg is entirely occupied with her film career, which takes up almost all her free time. However, Olga Shuvalova’s personal life is arranged. She has two children growing up - a daughter and a little son. The actress shares photos with her children on her own Instagram account. The actress’s page on this service is more like the account of an ordinary person - photos from walks, home shots, pictures with children. The actress does not try to put a glamorous gloss on her photographs, does not embellish her own life and pays much more attention to everyday events than social events.

Olga Shuvalova with her son

However, the press knows nothing about who the actress’s husband is, whether he exists or whether Olga Shuvalova never became a wife and is raising children alone. Olga does not say anything about the father of her children, preferring not to expose her private life to the judgment of strangers.

Raising a son

Evgeniy has been taught the value of earning money on his own since childhood. Even as a teenager, with the consent and guidance of his father, he worked part-time at a car wash. He successfully completed his secondary education abroad and was planning to enter Oxford. But an unpleasant situation with his friends changed his plans for the near future completely and irrevocably.

After an accident with consequences on the road in Switzerland involving “golden youth from Russia,” the boy’s parents decided to have him serve in the army. The choice of military unit was quick. Igor Shuvalov took an active part in the construction and formation of bases in Vladivostok. It was there that Evgeniy went to serve in the special forces.

Military service

On Russky Island, the son of a politician’s family served his service along with everyone else. He was not given any concessions or additional leave. Eugene carried out the commands of military leaders unquestioningly.

Over the years of service, the guy noticeably strengthened and became more courageous. According to him, he is happy with his father’s decision, and service in the naval special forces gave him the opportunity to rethink his plans for the future and set priorities for his future life. Evgeniy admits that it was not difficult for him to carry out commands and act according to the statute, because from childhood he was raised by his father in severity and rigidity.

Interests and hobbies of a politician's wife

Olga Viktorovna Shuvalova as a girl dreamed of having several pets. In those days, she had no time to take care of pets, and she did not think about buying a dog. When the woman left her job, the issue of purchasing an unusual puppy was not even raised at the family council. The woman was determined to buy a Welsh Corgi dog.

Now a small cable named Busya takes up the lion's share of the owner's free time. The process of breeding animals of this breed began with this cute creature. Only the politician’s wife is involved in raising the dog and traveling to exhibitions.

There was information in the press that Olga Viktorovna Shuvalova was going to competitions with her pets on a private plane. The photo spread across all well-known publications in the country and abroad.

Olga is also actively involved in breeding Sphynx cats. Her nursery produces animals that later become winners of various exhibitions. One kitten can cost up to several thousand dollars.

Despite being busy with animals, the politician’s wife manages to earn a lot of money for her family. Information has emerged that over the course of a year, a woman, thanks to her assets and investments in various areas of business, increases her income by 364 million rubles.

Such love for work negatively affects the doctor’s personal life; the doctor’s own husband is forced to go to an important event not with his wife, but with a neighbor, which makes the man wonder whether he has connected his life with the right woman.

Olga Shuvalova

In another melodrama of the same year, “Strangers and Friends,” Olga Shuvalova played the minor role of Veronica.
