Joey King, biography, news, photos

Childhood and family

Joey Lynn King was born on July 30, 1999 in Los Angeles, California.
Parents with many children, Terry and Jamie King, did not follow the instructions of any particular religion in raising their children, as they preached different faiths - Christianity and Judaism. The actress's father in his youth was an arm wrestling champion, to whom even the famous Hollywood muscleman Sylvester Stallone turned to for advice.

Joey has older sisters Kelly (born 1992) and Hunter (born 1993), both of whom also became actresses. The younger sister is sure that they inherited acting talent from their grandmother, theater actress Elaine Farrar. And she received the name Joey in honor of her grandfather, whose name was Joseph.

Childhood

On April 23, 1979, aspiring model and TV star Jamie was born in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to her, her parents also have a son, Barry, and a daughter, Sandy. From early childhood, the girl dreamed of becoming famous, for this she studied well at school and was actively engaged in self-development.

At the age of 14, she already clearly understood that she wanted to become a model, so she enjoyed visiting the local Nancy Bounds studio. Seeing the girl, the teachers were pleasantly surprised by her appearance and professional skills. Having gained a little experience, a year later she was invited to New York, where her adult modeling life actually began.

Film and television

King began her acting career as a child, although none of her parents made any special bets on her acting future at that time. At age 4, she starred in a breakfast cereal commercial and appeared in about a hundred commercials over the next two years.

She made her film debut in 2006: the short film “Grace” and several episodes of the TV series “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody” were released simultaneously with the participation of the young actress, for whom meeting teen idols Dylan and Cole Sprouse became something of a divine revelation.

While filming the short film Grace, Joey almost drowned in icy water. Despite the drama of the situation, it was thanks to this episode in her life that she fell in love with cinema and decided to become an actress.

The young actress’s first appearances on screen were episodic in nature, but allowed her to be remembered by the audience and to work with eminent colleagues. For example, in “Ghost Whisperer,” Joey’s partner was Jennifer Love Hewitt, in “Medium” - Patricia Arquette, and in her first feature film, the drama “Empty City,” she had the opportunity to star with Adam Sandler (unfortunately, all the scenes were from her participation was cut during editing).

Success for other directors came after the premiere of the good comedy “Ramona and Beezus” (2010), where young Joey appeared in the company of Selena Gomez. They played sisters with very different personalities - the eldest Beezus was confused in the first adult emotions, and the youngest Ramona, due to her rich imagination and overflowing energy, could not sit still. The role of Ramona brought Joey King a Young Actor Award.

A year later, little Joey became the star of the series “Addiction,” playing 8-year-old Charlie, the daughter of a single-minded mother Alex (Amanda Peet), whose husband recently went to prison.

In a short time, she had the opportunity to work with reputable directors. This is Christopher Nolan, whom Joey described as "incredibly detail-oriented" after he made her shave her head in The Dark Knight Rises. These include Sam Raimi, who was extremely patient with Joey during the filming of Oz the Great and Powerful, and Ronald Emmerich, the creator of the blockbuster White House Down (King played the daughter of Channing Tatum's character).

King also works on voice acting: these are the cartoons “Horton” (2008) with Jim Carrey, “Ice Age 3: Age of the Dinosaurs” (2009) with Queen Latifah and Ray Romano.

In 2014, the girl appeared in the TV series Fargo. Viewers saw her in the role of Greta Grimley, the daughter of police officer Gus, who is investigating a string of strange events in the small town of Fargo. In the same year, she had the opportunity to work with two actor-directors at once - Zach Braff and James Franco. For the first, she played in the family life-affirming comedy “I Wish I Was Here,” where she received the role of the daughter of the main character, who in turn was portrayed by Braff himself. And Franco played Joey in the film adaptation of William Faulkner’s famous novel “The Sound and the Fury” - she got the role of the young wife of one of the Compson brothers.

In 2020, Joey King again starred with Braff, this time in the comedy Going Gracefully, starring Michael Caine and Alan Arkin.

Other projects

King is not limited to just working in the film industry. Her first attempt to make it in the field of music was made in 2010. Then Joey and his sister recorded the song “Ramona Blue.” A year later, the solo single “Anything at All” and a video for the song “Mean” from Taylor Swift appeared, where King was given one of the roles. Joey King in Taylor Swift's "Mean" video Joey understands the importance of publicity for a successful acting career, so she has created profiles on all popular social networks. For some time, the girl tried to promote her own YouTube channel as a blogger, but abandoned it. But King is active on Instagram – she has almost 3 million subscribers there. Following the example of her grandmother, the actress has been involved in charity work from an early age. For example, he delivers food to the homes of elderly people who cannot go outside on their own.

short biography

Our “Scandinavian” warrior was born in the city of Oborne, New York USA. It is known that the musician’s father worked as a police officer, but no information is provided about his mother. Joey also has a brother who owns his own adult magazine. Despite the external similarity with the Indians, De Maio has Italian roots.

At the beginning of his musical career, Joey was the bassist for many little-known bands today. Then the musician, together with Ronnie James Dio, played for a short time in the group Elf. Later he worked as a pyrotechnician and sound engineer for Black Sabbath.

Manowar band in their youth

Manowar was founded by Joey DeMaio in April 1980 after meeting guitarist Ross Funicello. In 2003, De Maio became the manager of the Italian power metal band Rhapsody of Fire.

In 2012, Joey was invited by Jean-Claude Van Damme to write the soundtrack for the film Full of Love. Joey DeMaio's "arsenal" includes two main instruments - a classic 4-string (called the "Demon" by the musician) and an 8-string bass piccolo (also known as the "Little Demon").

In addition, Joey plays with a pick and often uses overdrive and pure guitar power chord techniques. De Maio is known for demonstrating his fast bass playing technique both while recording in the studio and in live performances.

Currently, the group continues to tour the world on a farewell tour. In March 2020, real masters of the heavy metal genre demonstrated their incredibly large-scale farewell show in Russia. We will believe that this “last” tour will last for many more years, because we don’t want to say goodbye to the legend.

Made his film debut at age 19

Since 2014, Hauer-King began acting in short films, and in 2017, the first full-length film with his participation was released: the British drama The Last Photograph. His colleague on the set was the famous American actor Danny Huston.

In 2020, Jonah starred in the dramas Postcards from London, The Old Man and the war film Ashes in the Snow. They did not bring worldwide popularity, but became an important stage in the development of the young actor’s career.

This year brought Hauer-King three more full-length works. These include the family adventure film The Way Home and the film adaptation of Norman LeBrecht's novel Song of Names, Jonah's second World War II-themed film, starring opposite major stars Tim Roth and Clive Owen.

In addition, the American drama “A Long Time Ago on Staten Island” with Hauer-King in one of the main roles is currently being prepared for release.
