Biography

Eduard Radzyukevich is a Russian theater and film actor, screenwriter, presenter, and teacher. One of the most famous artists of humorous television programs. He gained popularity after the release of the projects “Thank God, you came!”, “6 frames” and “Big Difference”. Eduard Vladimirovich Radzyukevich was born on July 11, 1965 in the capital of the Republic of Karelia - the city of Petrozavodsk.

Actor Eduard Radzyukevich

The artist’s father was a military man, and his mother was a professional skier who died when her son was barely five years old. The specific nature of the work of the head of the family required him to constantly travel. He could not take his little heir with him, and therefore, at the age of 6, Edward moved to his grandparents in Moscow. His grandfather instilled in Radzyukevich a love of sports, sending him to athletics, and his grandmother instilled in him integrity and independence.

Eduard Radzyukevich in childhood

Contrary to popular belief, as a child Radzyukevich did not dream of becoming an actor. Already at the age of 10, he realized that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a military man. Six months before graduating from school, he submitted documents to the school under the State Security Committee. The guy was sure that he would easily pass the selection. The diathesis that was discovered at the last moment became the reason for Edward’s discharge. The guy, not used to giving up, entered the evening department of the MIREA technical university, while working part-time at a factory.

From the biography of the theater and film actor, it is known that there Eduard managed to master eight working specialties, such as cabinetmaker and assembler. Realizing that he would not be able to realize himself standing at the machine, in 1987 he quit his job, left the institute and submitted documents to the Moscow Art Theater studio. The ambitious young man brilliantly passed the entrance examinations, but refused the opportunity to study at one of the most prestigious universities in the country. He entered the Shchukin School, where during the exam he recited excerpts from the works of Shukshin “My son-in-law stole a car of firewood” and Krylov “The Wolf and the Lamb”.

From dreams to reality

As a child, Edik did not intend to become an actor. His dream was a military career. The boy wanted to follow in his father's footsteps. And this despite the fact that his artistic abilities manifested themselves at school, during classes. For which he often received scoldings from teachers.

And yet, six months before graduation, the boy submits documents to the KGB school. He believed that he would pass the selection with ease. But at the last moment he was diagnosed with diathesis, which was the reason for his dismissal. Young Radzyukevich Eduard did not give up and entered the MGER, in the evening department. Along with his studies, he worked part-time at a factory. The boy realized early on that money doesn’t come easily. You need to earn them yourself. That's why he tried. At the factory, he had to master eight working skills, which were useful to him many years later when arranging his home.

Edik studied for three years, but realized that he could not live without creativity. And he doesn’t want to spend his whole life at a machine either. Therefore, he leaves the institute and quits the factory.

In 1987, Radzyukevich, having brilliantly completed all the entrance tests, became a student at the Moscow Art Theater. But for some reason, due to his personal convictions, he refuses to study at one of the most prestigious universities. Eduard enters the Shchukin School - the course of People's Artist of Russia Yuri Avsharov.

Eduard Radzyukevich. Boris Notkin invites The success of the TV show “6 Frames,” which has been broadcast on the STS channel for many years, lies in very funny and witty sketches, which are designed primarily for family audiences. The actors transform into different characters in each scene and act out various incidents from real life. With all this, they do not have a hint of any vulgarity, and they never joke about serious topics. Also, together, the artists of “Six Frames” appear periodically on stage. The play “The Fortune Teller or a Session of Love Magic,” which has already become famous, enjoys enormous success. The director of this performance is Eduard Radzyukevich, and the production is carried out by “Six Frames Show”.

Personal life

The eminent artist never talked much about his personal life. Despite the fact that the master of reincarnation was officially married twice, there is very little information on the Internet regarding his relationships with representatives of the fairer sex.

The actor met his first wife Elena Lanskaya at the Shchukin School. The romance developed rapidly, and a couple of months after they met, the young people legalized their relationship. However, after only a year of living together, they realized that they were not ready for the routine of family realities, and filed for divorce.

Eduard Radzyukevich and Elena Lanskaya

The director’s second wife was his student Elena Yurovskikh. He met her at GITIS, where he was engaged in teaching. Due to the significant age difference (his wife is 17 years younger than her husband), the comedian for a long time did not dare to show his sympathy to her. According to the screenwriter, it took him two years to take the first step towards the girl. On the day when Radzyukevich volunteered to walk the student home, their first heart-to-heart conversation took place. After it, the artist was finally convinced of the strength of his feelings.

They got married in the summer of 2003. In the winter of the same year, Elena gave birth to a son for Edward, who was named George. Like many representatives of humorous genres, Radzyukevich is a cheerful joker only on the screen. In everyday life, a producer is an extremely serious person with incredible endurance and patience.

Being a caring father and loving husband, on days free from filming, he takes on all the responsibilities around the house, giving his wife the opportunity to unwind and relax. Eduard is a jack of all trades: if necessary, the artist can easily clear a clogged drain and repair broken household appliances.

This week actor Eduard RADZYUKEVICH celebrates his 45th birthday. He was first heard in the early 90s in the program “Your Own Director,” for which he wrote texts and then voiced them himself. Later, he tried his hand as the host of the “Television Cocktail for Three” program on the TNT channel, but people’s love came to Eduard thanks to the humorous program “6 Frames” and participation in the programs “Thank God, you came!” and “Big difference.” Despite the inherent comic nature of his roles, Radzyukevich himself is a serious man and carefully hides his personal life from prying eyes. Nevertheless, we managed to find out interesting facts about his rich biography.

Eduard Radzyukevich his school years with sadness. Having undergone a serious operation in childhood, the naturally active boy was forced to forget about his favorite pastimes. Strict orders from doctors: “Don’t run!” caused sad consequences - the boy began to look like a soccer ball, and the ridicule of his peers became familiar to him. And Eduard still remembers with resentment the nickname - Promsosiska-Kombinat.

“As soon as the bell rang for the end of the lesson, someone gave him a poke,” say Radzyukevich’s classmates. “But the girls didn’t notice Edik point-blank.”

In high school, Radzyukevich fell unrequitedly in love. Blonde Lenochka ignored him and, together with the other guys, laughed at the appearance of her admirer. Edik's heart was finally broken by an unpleasant episode: one day he caught his beloved with a fashionably dressed young man.

During his student years, Edik both drank and sang (pictured with Alexander ZHIGALKIN and Alexey YASULOVICH)

“Then he said through clenched teeth: “You’ll see, crowds of girls will run after me!” If I become famous, then we’ll see!” - said a school friend of the star.

Voices of the Dead

The future actor realized early on that money doesn’t fall from the sky and he has to make his own way. Edik was raised by his grandparents. His mother, skier Anfisa Popova , died when her son was five years old, and his military father was constantly on the move.

The boy thought for a long time about choosing a future profession. Despite the fact that since childhood he dreamed of becoming an actor, he entered the evening department of a technical university - MIREA, and at the same time, in order not to sit on the necks of pensioners, he got a job at a factory, where he mastered eight specialties. It was then that Edward, having made friends among the working men, began to drink regularly.

After three years of plumbing and engineering, Radzyukevich unexpectedly decided to turn his life 180 degrees: he gave up everything and entered Shchuka.
“Finally I’m in my place!” - he never tired of repeating.

To celebrate, immediately after enlisting, Edward shaved his head, for which he received a new nickname - Bald. During my studies at the theater, my passion for alcohol gained new momentum.

- Yes, we all drank! — recalls Radzyukevich’s classmate, director Alexander Zhigalkin . “It happened, and the whole course went on a binge.” Edik was always in the forefront in this matter. Once we were even suspended from classes for three days. But, I admit, this slightly reined in the lively crowd.

The addiction to alcohol worsened when Edward’s grandmother and grandfather died one after another during his final years.

“It was a terrible period,” Radzyukevich says bitterly. - Both alcohol and drugs are a train. You sit on it and it speeds up. But one day you realize that you want to get off, but there’s still no stopping. When my relatives passed away, I heard their voices in the apartment for a long time, I was afraid I would go crazy. But there was a person who supported me at that moment.

Mistake of youth

Elena Lanskaya became a lifeline for Edward . Her cold beauty beckoned and intoxicated me more than drunkenness. Timid friendship quickly grew into passion, and a few months after the death of their relatives, Edik and Lena moved into the apartment where the actor spent his childhood.

The wedding was modest. The students had no money for feasts. And few guests were invited - only the closest ones. For a while, the young wife managed to wean Edward away from drunkenness. But he soon untied it again. Prolonged drinking bouts ended in family scandals. Less than a year had passed before the couple came to the registry office again to get a divorce.

“I don’t want to stir up the past,” Elena answered with a sigh when asked to talk about her ex-husband. - We were young, inexperienced... Who doesn’t make mistakes at 20-25? Fortunately, our mistake could be corrected. Everyone now has their own family.

...and wife Lena

After breaking up with Radzyukevich, Elena met the leader of the group “Accident” Alexei Kortnev and gave birth to his son Nikita. They say that during his affair with Lanskaya, the musician was also in love with actress Yulia Rutberg .

Became a man at 41

Edward was also not alone for long. During one of his lectures for students of RATI (formerly GITIS), Radzyukevich's gaze settled on a pretty blonde. The girl had a striking appearance, and all six boys in the year were secretly in love with her. Lena Yurovskikh, a student of Gennady Khazanov’s course, was nicknamed Thumbelina for her miniature size and pretty face . Edward began to seducing the beauty carefully. It's no joke: having an affair with a student who is 17 years younger than you!

Lena YUROVSKIKH (in the center) was the favorite student of the course leader - Gennady KHAZANOV

“I’ve been looking at her for two years,” Radzyukevich confesses.
— One day I decided to take him home. That’s when we started talking for the first time... Edward and Lena hid their relationship from teachers and students until the girl’s tummy began to appear; it became impossible to hide the obvious.

In the summer of 2003, the couple got married, and in the winter their first child was born - Georgy Radzyukevich-Yurovskikh . For the sake of his loved ones, Edward gave up alcohol forever, resorting to the help of doctors.

“I remember when Gaucher was about nine months old, he was playing on a swing and looking intently into my eyes. And suddenly he winked at me,” says the actor. “At that moment everything inside me turned upside down with happiness!” Then I fully realized that I had become a man. At such moments you realize that you are worth something in life.

It's him - Eddie!

Over the six years of the existence of the sketch committee “6 Frames”, the actor played everyone: a hockey player...

...and a homeless person...

Eduard Radzyukevich now

In 2020, Radzyukevich gives interviews to magazines, appears in television shows (“Simply Sunday,” “Star on “Star” with Alexander Strizhenov, “Good Morning”) and continues to act in plays. Also this year, the actor’s filmography was replenished with new roles: in the comedy television series of the NTV channel “Stroyka”, Eduard played a judge, and in the film “Graphomania”, where his colleagues on the set were Gosha Kutsenko, Aristarkh Venes, Vladimir Epifantsev and Yuri Stoyanov, he played one from graphomaniacs.

Despite the fact that the artist is not on Instagram or Twitter, on the social network VKontakte, fans of the director’s work have created a community in which they publish the latest news from the life of their favorite and post photographs both from performances and from personal archive of the comedian, which are periodically published on the pages of various Internet resources.

Not long ago, the appearance of the star of the sketch show “6 Frames” at one of the presentations caused a wave of indignation among his fans: the actor, 183 cm tall and weighing 84 kg, had gained a lot of weight. Fans were afraid that such a sharp weight gain was caused by health problems, but the screenwriter denied rumors about the disease, explaining that he gained weight because he quit smoking.

It is worth noting that this kind of information has already appeared in the press. After Edward’s hospitalization in 2013, the tabloids were full of headlines that the eminent producer had died suddenly as a result of a stroke. A refutation was later published. As it turned out, the man was admitted to the hospital due to overwork caused by a busy work schedule and lack of healthy sleep.

Eduard Radzyukevich: “My son saved me from falling into the abyss”
Radzyukevich never hid the fact that there was a dark period in his life - weeks of hopeless drunkenness, when day and night were confused and it didn’t matter what would happen next...

- Why am I addicted to drinking? I don’t know, I didn’t go to a psychotherapist,” he admits. “But I definitely didn’t drink out of grief.” In my situation, the worst thing is that I simply loved this business...

WHO DOESN'T DRINK?!

Edward tried alcohol for the first time as a teenager - in high school, the boys dabbled in Madeira and port wine. It would be a sin not to have a drink with friends.

“After school, I went to work at a factory, and so,” the actor recalls. — What we didn’t drink back then: from technical alcohol and cologne to Penguin windshield wiper. There will always be a reason...

The cheerful parties continued at the theater school, where Edik entered three years later. Drinking in creative circles has always been considered the most common thing - and who doesn’t drink? A glass for courage, a second for inspiration, and to alleviate moral suffering, we’ll “crush” a bottle. Night gatherings in the kitchen, conversations about life while listening to moonshine or “little white” music are the sweetest things for aspiring artists. It happened that teachers at the school who were still not sober would kick them out of classes in the morning. And they threatened that next time they would definitely expel me, and they wouldn’t listen to any excuses. But this did not cool the hot heads of the guys - after all, the guys did not consider themselves drunkards, much less alcoholics.

When Edward was in his last year, trouble came to the family. One after another, his grandparents, his closest people on earth, passed away. After all, Edik, in fact, was an orphan - his mother died when he was only five years old, his military father wandered around the garrisons and could not raise his son himself, so he left him in the care of his parents. Having lost those who raised him, Edward felt as if the earth was slipping from under his feet... He grabbed love like a life preserver and hastily married his classmate Lena. However, a year later the young people ran away, and Edward returned to his old trusted friend - alcohol was the best way to forget and muffle the mental pain.

Then there were years of working on TV, where there was always company and a reason to drink. But, we must pay tribute, alcohol did not interfere with the work - Radzyukevich never disrupted filming, and on set he gave his best. His popularity grew and his career took off. Eduard was invited to teach acting at GITIS, and there he was completely overwhelmed by a new love. He married again - to his student, the beautiful Lena, who was almost 18 years younger. But neither a happy marriage nor the birth of his son Gosha forced him to give up his addiction. More and more often, Radzyukevich came home not just tipsy, but practically “on the horns.” Edward himself did not notice when the alcoholic quagmire began to suck him deeper and deeper.

"SORRY, I'M WIRED UP"

- Both alcohol and drugs are a train. You sit on it, and it accelerates,” says Radzyukevich. “But one day you realize that you want to get off, but there’s still no stop...

His wife Lena endured, forgave, and persuaded. For the sake of his beloved, Edward tried more than once to quit, but again and again he broke down. He could no longer stop himself; he lacked willpower. He probably would have drank everything away - both his career and his family. But one day, tipsy, he leaned over his son Gosha’s crib to kiss the baby goodnight. The six-month-old baby turned away and burst into tears: his dad smelled too much of alcohol.

- And I suddenly felt so ashamed! — Radzyukevich is still shuddering. “I imagined how my son would grow up and be ashamed of the fact that his father was a drunkard. I realized that I was flying into the abyss.

Edward went to the doctors and got stitched up. But it turns out that stopping drinking is half the battle. It is much more difficult to avoid temptations and not start pricking your collar again. After all, in Russia someone who doesn’t even want to take a sip is treated with suspicion.

“That’s why, when I come to a project, to the theater, I immediately say: “Sorry, I’m wired up,” says Eduard. “Otherwise, sometimes they decide to play a prank and pour vodka into the decanter instead of water.” I warn you right away: if you want me to stay alive, don’t let it smell. I can just move the horses on the platform...

He hasn't touched alcohol for almost 10 years. He jokes that “he’s already drunk his freight train of canisters.”

“Now I thank God every day, I got out and really want to hold out until the end of my life,” the actor does not hide.

After all, he has something to live for - for the sake of his family, for the sake of his career, for the sake of millions of viewers. And most importantly - for the sake of his beloved son Gosha. Now the boy can be proud of his dad...
