What does the woman Roman Madyanov loves all his life look like (rare photos)

Biography

Roman Madyanov comes from the city of Dedovsk, Istrinsky district. He talks about his roots: “I was born in the Moscow region. But I’m proud that my relatives on my father’s side are Cossacks. My grandfather was an ardent communist. He sincerely believed in communism, although he also suffered: allegedly “for Trotskyism” he was deprived of the right to teach at the university. He taught history at a school for working youth.”

Roman's parents were educated, creative people. My mother worked as a librarian, and my father worked as a television editor. This circumstance predetermined the boy’s future fate. He became an actor, although as a child he dreamed of becoming a forester or huntsman.

Actor's childhood

With his brother Vadim, Roma often disappeared at his dad’s work. Here he first appeared on camera and, by a lucky coincidence, was noticed by Georgy Danelia himself. The actor later recalled how this happened: “My father was a second director on television and took my older brother and me to the set. We filmed an episode at school: children were running around during recess. To keep us from dangling under our feet, he asked us to also dress in school uniforms, and we ended up in the frame. It was during this same shoot that we were “found.” The next day I found myself in Georgy Nikolaevich’s office, and a week later I was on my way to film.”

Thus, nine-year-old Roma Madyanov played the first leading role in his life - Huckleberry Finn in the famous film by Georgy Daneliya “Completely Lost”. Several generations of Soviet children grew up in this picture. And American critics recognized it as the best film adaptation of Mark Twain. Years later, the actor summed up: “Now, when, over time, you filter something in your head, you understand what a thrill it was. How much childish, boyish joy there was when I was allowed to wear long hair, when you were picked up from classes in a black Volga, on the side of which it was written in white letters “film shooting”... What a vivid feeling when you step into the frame and see your idols, whom I saw only on TV: Evgeny Pavlovich Leonov, Vakhtang Konstantinovich Kikabidze, Irina Konstantinovna Skobtseva..."

For playing the role of Huck Finn, the boy received his first fee and brought it home. “Naturally, I dreamed of a bike, so that I could get behind the wheel of my own, and not the neighbor’s, “Eaglet” and scratch wherever my eyes go... I gave the entire fee to my mother. “Breadwinner, Romka, man!” We bought a bike and - a whole event - a refrigerator,” said the actor.

During his school years, Roman starred in a dozen films, including: “Aniskin and Fantomas” (Romka), “Spring Changelings” (Dyushka Tyagunov), “Let him stay with us” (Dimka), “It’s all about the brother” (Frol Kalitkin ) and others. Thanks to these films, the young actor became famous in the world of cinema and popular among television viewers. However, frequent filming had a negative impact on studies, and I had to study on an individual schedule. Roman explains: “Yes, I only studied a few classes at school. For a month or two I went to schools in Yerevan, Yalta, Sevastopol... When I came from filming, I personally studied with teachers who were paid by Mosfilm: the law on compulsory secondary education was strictly observed! I covered the program in entire sections and submitted several topics to teachers at once. I had a memory, it’s hard to complain, trained by cramming roles, so I memorized everything in one gulp - both physics and mathematics.”

GITIS

After graduating from school, Roman was not faced with the question of where to go to study. On the advice of his father, he decided not to enter VGIK, which would be logical with such a filmography, but to the theater. Dad told his son: “This is all wonderful - both VGIK and filming. But all this comes and goes, and you must have your own home, a real, good theater school.” However, theater universities did not welcome the young actor with open arms. Roman admitted that he was unable to enroll in the first year: “The theater has always had a biased attitude towards cinema. Therefore, my past hindered me more than helped me. After all, they found out right away.”

However, a year later, the aspiring artist managed to reach this “height”, and the doors of GITIS opened before him. Roman became a student of director, professor Oscar Remez. True, he had to give a receipt to his teacher with a promise not to act until graduation.

Madyanov’s graduation works were: the role of Filimonov in the play “Blonde” directed by Kama Ginkas and Schweik in the musical by Oleg Kudryashov. Playing “The Good Soldier” was the actor’s long-standing dream, and the teacher helped bring this idea to life. Both productions were huge successes and were the highlights of that season.

As a student, Roman began acting at the Moscow Theater. Vladimir Mayakovsky under the leadership of Andrei Aleksandrovich Goncharov. And after graduating from GITIS in 1984, he joined the theater staff.

Army

In 1985, the actor was drafted into the army. He served for a year and a half in Kubinka, near Moscow, about which he described: “I served in the missile forces, where hazing was very mild. All the guys have higher education. If there were any inclinations, I said: if we are friends, then you and your girls will go to Mayakovka and review the entire repertoire.”

The actor does not consider the time spent on mastering the military craft to be lost. On the contrary, the acquired skills and knowledge helped him in the future to create convincing images of the military. And Roman himself is one of those people who consider any life experience positive. Therefore, the actor says: “I served wonderfully in the army. I still have many officer friends. When young actors come to the set, I can accurately determine whether he served or did not serve. The guys who served in the army don’t need to be told to fasten their collars or tighten their straps.”

First roles

Actor Roman Madyanov first appeared on the set at the age of nine. The boy made his debut in the film “Translation from English,” presented to the audience in 1971. Then he got a small role, but the child liked acting in films.

Roman Madyanov films

Roman's next role turned out to be key. The boy brilliantly played the tomboy Huckleberry Finn in the film “Completely Lost.” The plot of the painting by Georgy Danelia was borrowed from the famous work “The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn” by Twain. Madyanov received this role thanks to the director’s assistant, who liked the lively boy. Many Soviet cinema stars became Roman’s colleagues on the set, for example, Vakhtang Kikabidze, Irina Skobtseva, Evgeny Leonov.

By the time he graduated from school, actor Roman Madyanov had already played in ten films. He embodied the images of key characters in the films “It’s All About the Brother” and “Spring Changelings”. Of course, constant employment on the set had a negative impact on the teenager’s academic performance. Madyanov was forced to additionally study with tutors, the costs of which were covered by Mosfilm.

Theater

In 1987, after serving in the army, the actor returned to the Mayakovsky Theater, where he worked for more than twenty years and played many prominent roles. Among them: “In the Ring of Silence” (Gribov), “Conversations with Socrates” (Meletus), “Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk District” (Zinovy Borisovich), “Tomorrow there was a war” (Sergey), “The Life of Klim Samgin” (Tomilin), “Victim of the Century” (Dergachev), “Theatrical Romance” (Yablokov), “Vanyushkin’s Children” (Vanyushkin) and others.

Roman Madyanov has become one of the most sought-after theater artists. The roles came one after another, and he worked on them with inspiration, obeying the director in everything: “Andrei Alexandrovich believed that an artist should not have a cold nose, thirty-six and six are not a temperature, but a state of rest. And since I have an explosive temperament, I impressed him as an artist. And I absolutely trusted him. If you really give yourself to the director, then completely, or refuse the role. But to refuse Goncharov, who took me to the theater, a real master, a lump... that was out of the question! I always listened to him and worked honestly, consciously sacrificing cinema,” recalls the actor.

However, after working for many years at Mayakovka, Roman left the stationary theater to earn his living. The artist explained his decision this way: “I love the air of freedom. I just realized that you can engage in your profession just as professionally, without leaving the theater, but managing absolutely your own personal time for creative matters. Having the opportunity to act in films, allocating opportunities for theatrical work, in no case leaving the theater, but participating in enterprises.”

It is noteworthy that, within the framework of free projects, Roman Madyanov, together with his colleagues, recreated two Goncharov performances based on the plays of A. Ostrovsky: “Liquid Apples”, where he performed Sil Erofeevich and the Barker, and “My People...” (Podkhalyuzin). The actor says about his latest work: “We played this play for ten years at the Mayakovsky Theater, but under the new management, for some reason it was no longer needed... But the play was good, it constantly attracted full houses. So we decided to give it a new life. No expense was spared, they made amazing costumes... The time has passed when enterprises played on stools - the viewer should see a full-fledged performance. And he receives Ostrovsky fantastically! The performance is maintained from the inside by the artists who worked on it with Andrei Aleksandrovich Goncharov.”

In the enterprise, the actor worked with many famous directors: Pyotr Stein (“Sylvia, or the Dog on Stage”), Sergei Kutasov (“Love Date”), Konstantin Bogomolov (“Piggy Bank”), Nina Chusova (“Russian Coaster”), Roman Samgin (“Pygmaleon”), Tatyana Akhramkova (“Free Shooter Krechinsky” and “Cuba – My Love”) and others.

But, perhaps, Roman has the most collaborations with director Tatyana Dogileva. In her play “The Lady is Waiting, the Clarinet is Playing...” Madyanov played George, in “Moonlight, Honeymoon...” he played Victor Prynne, in the lyrical comedy “Loving Do Not Renounce...” - the administrator Semyon. The artist also took part in the Broadway comedy about the Eva theater, for which a two-story set, unprecedented for an enterprise, was made. Mary Orr's play, which forms the basis of the production, was translated into Russian by Mikhail Mishin, Tatiana's husband. The performance featured such wonderful actors as: Alexander Feklistov, Galina Polskikh, Boris Shcherbakov, Tatyana Rudina, Evgenia Dmitrieva and, of course, Tatyana Dogileva herself.

In total, the actor has more than twenty works, performed in enterprises and by invitation to other theaters. Roman continues to appear on stage in new interesting productions and considers himself more of a theater actor than a film actor.

Cinema

However, after years of serving the melpomene, Roman Madyanov returned to cinema. This happened in 1989 with an invitation to Leonid Gaidai’s film “Private Detective, or Operation Cooperation.” Later, the actor played a number of episodic roles... “My return to cinema was not easy. An offer came from Nikolai Nikolaevich Dostal to play in “Citizen Chief”, then in “Penal Battalion”. After “Penal Battalion,” they noticed me and began offering me roles,” says the artist.

In 2003, the actor starred in the comedy mini-series “Plot” by Alexander Baranov, where he played the role of Andrei Sharov. Roman worked on camera with Sergei Bezrukov, Alexey Buldakov, Pavel Derevyanko, Tatyana Dogileva and other wonderful artists, which he recalls with rapture: “It wasn’t filming—it was a song! Besides the fact that the script is wonderful, without shooting games or showdowns, what a nature! All the actors rushed to filming with joy. How did I find out who was going to play, you fucking bastard! And they hooliganized, and did all sorts of things. And what fishing there is! We lived a kilometer from Oka. I went out to the Oka at five in the morning, waved my spinning rod, and at eight I ran to filming. Seryozha Bezrukov sometimes joined, but he was more and more on crucian carp, with a fishing rod.” The audience liked the film so much that in 2006 a sequel, “The Enchanted Area,” was released.

Also during this period, Madyanov played a number of episodic and main roles, but always very bright and memorable. In the TV series “Soldiers” he played Viktor Kolobkov, in “Yesenin” he played Kirov, in the crime drama “The Hunt for Red Deer” he played financial director Fedyakin.

In 2006, Gleb Panfilov directed a historical drama about Stalin’s times, “In the First Circle.” In the film, Roman played the tough head of the MGB, Abakumov. The actor managed to reveal the image of an extraordinary, strong personality, his complex character. In preparation for filming, the artist studied documentaries about his character. Madyanov's participation in the series was noted by critics and colleagues. “Nikita Sergeevich Mikhalkov congratulated him on his work “In the First Circle.” And this is the most expensive assessment. There is no more reward. No amount of “Nicks” can cover this. This is more expensive than prizes. This gives an internal incentive for further work,” Roman admitted.

A year later, Nikita Mikhalkov invited the actor to play the role of a juror in the acclaimed psychological thriller “12”. The artist shared his impressions of the filming: “Artists of the Russian school played in Mikhalkov’s film... As for the feelings, it was infinitely difficult, but at the same time it was a month and a half of absolute creativity and rapture. Drive and fun - what a team they were! It smelled like good Soviet cinema from the mid-seventies. And Nikita Sergeevich was right when at the end of filming he said: “Now I know that at Mosfilm there is a group of people capable of working at the European and world level.” Later, Madyanov took part in another famous work by Nikita Mikhalkov - the military drama Burnt by the Sun 2.

The actor also had the opportunity to collaborate with such masters of directing as Nikolai Dostal (“Citizen Chief”), Mikhail Kalatozishvili (“Wild Field”), Nikolai Lebedev (“Legend No. 17”), Sergei Ursulyak (“Isaev”) and others. Vladimir Khotinenko directed Roman in the biographical drama “Dostoevsky” about the life of the great classic. The actor got an episodic role, but working in the same frame with Chulpan Khamatova, Evgeny Mironov, Dmitry Pevtsov, Alexander Domogarov gave the actor special pleasure: “In the series “Dostoevsky” I have the role of the publisher Stellovsky - a good episode. Firstly, because with Zhenya Mironov. He plays Dostoevsky. Secondly, it’s a delight when you come to the site and understand that everything is in order, professionals work here. I get three or four scenes. Stellovsky, a card player, wanted to put Dostoevsky in bondage, but Fyodor Mikhailovich was also passionate and won. But you have to watch this movie.”

In total, Roman Madyanov has more than 120 film works. In recent years, the most significant of them are Pekarsky in Sergei Popov’s thriller “The Seventh Rune”, Shuvalov in Igor Zaitsev’s historical drama “The Great”, Igor Ilyinsky in Vitaly Moskalenko’s melodrama “Orlova and Alexandrov” and others.

Personal life

Roman Madyanov met his future wife Natalya while working at the Mayakovsky Theater. In 1992, the couple got married, and in 1993 they had a son, Roman, in whom the actor dotes: “Romik is a spontaneous, free creature for me. He has his own brains, and, nevertheless, I never cease to love and adore my son. I'm correcting it somewhere. It’s not like dad came in and sang - everyone lay down under the shelf, don’t touch it until dad eats a bowl of borscht and calms down. Yes, all this is nonsense! I have great respect for the interests of my son and wife, and therefore, in return, no one bothers me to do what I love.”

When the time came for the grown-up Roma to decide on his future profession, he flatly refused to follow in his father’s footsteps. The actor commented on his son’s decision: “He absolutely doesn’t want to. Although I offered him this option, I don’t want to put pressure on the guy. I try to reason rationally and explain to him that my desire to direct him to where I can help him, because I am in power, is natural for any parent. But he got into the music. He has perfect pitch. I graduated from music school with a degree in violin, and now I am interested in guitar. I can only respect his choice.”

Roman Madyanov values his family and home very much: “Home is the rear, this is the zone where the artist remains himself. There must be harmony, only then does it make sense. And if you come home and start defending, winning your living space, this is torture, calvary, then this is probably not a family.” Natalya, of course, is responsible for home comfort, and her four-legged pets help her with this. “We have a real menagerie at home. The black terrier Dusya is a terrible kind-hearted dog. Two aquariums with fish. They didn’t come up with names for them: a gang, that’s a gang. Rabbit Bucks loves to hide behind the radiator. And the rat Busya. Romka called her that because her eyes are like beads. And my Natulka loves all kinds of plants. I once bought an avocado. So Natasha grew a tree from one seed. She is a modest, homely and absolutely not a party person,” the actor says with love.

Roman Madyanov tries to spend all his free time with his family. He is one of the most decent star family men and this completely refutes the myth about the fragility of actor’s marriages.

Actor Roman Madyanov: family, childhood

The performer of the role of political officer Kolobkov was born in Dedovsk, this happened in July 1962. Actor Roman Madyanov was born into an intelligent family. His father worked as a television editor, and his mother worked in a library. Roman is the second son of his parents; he has an older brother, Vadim, who also connected his life with dramatic art.

As a child, the actor was a real tomboy. He inherited his fighting character from his paternal ancestors, who were Ural Cossacks. At school, Roma was an average student and preferred to spend his time playing street games. This continued until the magical world of cinema burst into the boy’s life.

Interview

About hobby

"I love coockie so much. No cookbooks - everything is based on intuition. When I feel inspired, I create complex dishes. For example, meat with vegetables and mushrooms. And when there is no desire, there is no need to go near the stove. Better cut off a piece of cheese, make a sandwich and eat it with tea. Apparently, it’s the same with work: if you don’t like the role, there’s nothing to take on, nothing good will come of it.”

About the passion for computer games

“Yes, he lived to be almost fifty years old and died. This is a certain relaxation when you need to be distracted in the evening, to lose your courage after a performance or hard filming. But only for an hour or two, don’t hang out for a day. Without fanaticism. I play Warcraft. When there was no Russian version, you could get into the company of the Japanese, Germans, English, Belgians, people from all over the world. Among them were both decent and dishonest people. The game also teaches life. It’s interesting, without seeing a person, by his actions, by what he replies, you can correspond there, understand who he is, what age he is.”

About hunting

“There were times when I was in a hunting society, I went with a gun to hunt ducks, wood grouse, and hare. Once even on a wild boar. My grandfather was also a hunter. And then in an instant I stopped liking it all. Once in Kabardino-Balkaria, around 1982, a roe deer was killed. She was such a beauty... I approached, she was already lying dead, and a tear was flowing from her open eyes. And it affected me so much that I could no longer eat meat. Everything was gone immediately, and the guns were sold.”

About fishing

For Roman Madyanov, fishing is not a hobby, but “almost a profession.” Friends call him a desperate spinner. “Yes, since childhood I have been accustomed to nature, to clean air. The Moscow region used to be untouched and undeveloped. When going fishing, you need to make sure that there are only eternal elements around: the sky, flowing water, the fire of a fire. If at the beginning of your vacation you scroll through everything that has accumulated lately, then by the end you only think about fishing. This is good, it means the problems have been solved. I only go fishing with trusted people with whom I can sit silently all day. From the acting fraternity, these are the artists of the Theater. Vl. Mayakovsky Tolya Lobotsky and Yurochka Korenev, also Sasha Ilyin,” admits the actor.

About friendship

“Friend, friendship is, in my opinion, a very powerful phenomenon. I have a gradation: friend, comrade, friend, acquaintance... there are many varieties. I have a lot of good friends in the acting community. I still wouldn’t dare call them friends. A friend is service day and night. When the last shirt is taken off, the last piece of bread is given away.”

About the profession

“An artist’s profession and his life really depend on running against the tide. This needs to be understood. When you stand still, the public forgets about you, and you yourself stop developing without good work. Although many of my colleagues for some reason believe that, having gained experience, they already know everything and can do everything, and there is no need to study further. And as soon as you stop improving, you go down this escalator. That is, you don’t just stand still, but you lose everything you’ve gained before. And you need to make a lot of effort to run to that lantern where you just were.”

About Me

“I go through life and I’m lucky... I’m probably an optimist, so I’m always lucky. Some people, on the contrary, look for the bad in this - “here’s bad luck.” But I’m lucky with everyone: wherever, no matter what work you point your finger at - for more than a hundred jobs in cinema and theater (God knows how many), I was lucky with all my partners, everything was fine with them. I had no omissions, no irritation on stage, on the set, it passed me by. I had to do only one thing - creativity, and that’s it.”

Student years

By the time he graduated from school, Roman Madyanov had already firmly decided to connect his life with the art of drama. The star's biography indicates that while still in his senior year, he chose GITIS. No one had any doubt that the boy, who had already become an experienced actor, would get in on the first try. However, unexpectedly for everyone, Madyanov failed to pass the entrance exams.

Roman did not give up his dream and did not try to enroll in another university. The next year he repeated his attempt to become a student at GITIS, which this time was crowned with success. Oscar Remez, whose workshop he ended up in, made him promise not to act in films at least until his third year. The young man kept his word.

While still studying at GITIS, Roman Sergeevich Madyanov began performing at the Vladimir Mayakovsky Theater. For example, he took part in the production of “Ivan Tsarevich”. Is it any wonder that the young man was accepted into the staff of this theater immediately after he received his diploma.
