Maslova Nina Konstantinovna: biography, career, personal life

Biography

Nina Maslova is a Soviet actress, Honored Artist of Russia. Her fame was brought to her by bright episodic roles in cult Soviet films, which became part of the gold reserve of Russian cinema. Maslova played Vika Korovyanskaya in the comedy melodrama “The Big Change,” Marfa Vasilievna in Daneliya’s “golden” comedy “Ivan Vasilyevich Changes His Profession,” and the beautiful neighbor Afanasy in the lyrical comedy “Afonya.”

Childhood and youth

The future movie star was born in Riga in November 1946. Nina Maslova's father and mother separated when their daughter turned 5 years old. Nina’s childhood could not be called happy: the relationship with her mother did not work out. Later, the actress admitted that she felt like an unwanted child and never found a common language with her loved one.

Nina Maslova and her mother

Nina Maslova was not doing well in her studies; she was in no hurry to go home after classes - it seemed more comfortable outside. At the age of 11 I first learned the taste of port wine. I didn’t dream of any profession, I didn’t think about becoming an artist.

After graduating from school, Nina went to Moscow because her beloved guy rushed there. The capital received the Riga woman warmly: the girl became a student at the Institute of Land Reclamation. After 2 years I left the university. A beautiful girl with a memorable appearance was advised to try her hand at cinema.

Nina Maslova in her youth

In 1965, Maslova entered the Moscow Art Theater School on her first try, but even here she stayed for 2 years. According to the actress, she was expelled for her unwillingness to write reports on fellow students and teachers at the KGB. But Nina already knew that acting was her destiny, and that same year she became a student at VGIK: the girl was enrolled in the course of Sergei Gerasimov and Tamara Makarova. In 1971, Nina Maslova was awarded a diploma of higher education and accepted into the Film Actor Theater Studio.

Wonderful student time

Nina Maslova, an actress in the near future, studied at a Riga school, after which she went to Moscow to become a student at the Institute of Hydromelioration. Maslova initially left because of an affair with a Muscovite, but then she decided to get an education. At first she studied diligently, but then she got bored with it all. Now she was interested in the acting path.

In 1965, she became a member of the student team of the Moscow Art Theater School. But she did not stay long within the walls of this educational institution. The reason for this was her intractable character and decency. That time was remembered for the fact that KGB workers tried to recruit as many university students as possible. This trick did not work with Nina: she sharply refused, for which she was expelled from Fr.

But Nina Maslova’s biography has already been marked by directors’ interest in Nina. She was invited to the shooting. True, so far in the crowd. And already in 1967, the girl became a student at VGIK. She was lucky to study in the workshop of the great masters of Soviet cinema - Tamara Makarova and Sergei Gerasimov. It was here that she gained invaluable experience, which helped her so much later during filming. And from 1971, having graduated from the institute with success, Nina Konstantinovna began working at the Theater-Studio of a Film Actor.

Movies

The artist’s cinematic biography began during her student years. Maslova was entrusted with episodes in the films “I Loved You...” by Ilya Frez, “We Wish You Success” and “Accused of Murder.” Nina Maslova’s mentor, Gerasimov, gave the student a tiny role in his project “By the Lake.” Vasily Shukshin and Natalya Belokhvostikova starred in the film drama.

In 1971, the artist was entrusted with her first significant role in the cult drama “Russian Field” with Nonna Mordyukova and Vladimir Tikhonov in the lead roles. Maslova played a girl in love with Tikhonov’s hero, Philip Ugryumov. Not only talent helped play the role of falling in love: a romance broke out between Nina and Vladimir on the set.

Maslova felt a taste of fame after the release of the wonderful comedy melodrama “Big Change”. In the project, director Alexey Korenev brought together the color of Soviet cinema from four generations: from masters with national titles to students who had just left the walls of theater universities.

The picture with a simple plot captivated millions of television viewers in the country, and all its participants bathed in the rays of people's love. 26-year-old Nina Maslova got the role of the beautiful Vika Korovyanskaya, who “always knows everything about everyone.”

The comedy of Leonid Gaidai, released the following year, 1973, helped to consolidate Maslova’s popularity. The actress played the beautiful queen who was seduced by the hero Yuri Yakovlev at a banquet. The episode in the cult film “Ivan Vasilyevich changes his profession” - short but vivid - remained in the memory of the audience, and the phrase “Marfa Vasilyevna I” became a catchphrase.

After 2 years, luck smiled on Nina Maslova again: Georgy Danelia approved the artist for an episode in the comedy “Afonya” with Leonid Kuravlev in the title role. A year later, a film was released in which the Riga woman played the main role - the only one in the filmography. And again a comedy, this time of a Soviet-German production, called “Smile, peer!” Maslova appeared in the form of sisters Masha and Maria.

In the mid-1980s, Gaidai invited the artist to the comedy project “Life Dangerous!” On the set, Nina Maslova again met with Leonid Kuravlev and Borislav Brondukov. The film featured a constellation of Soviet film actors, but the success of the film turned out to be more modest than the story with Ivan Vasilyevich.

Subsequently, Maslova was repeatedly invited to projects, but she no longer had the same success. In Alla Surikova’s tragicomedy “Two Arrows. Stone Age Detective” in the late 1980s, Nina Konstantinovna played the mistress of the hero Sergei Shakurov. The abundance of stars did not bring the film great success. In Vsevolod Shilovsky’s comedy “Scammers,” the key roles went to Rimma Markova and Nina Ruslanova. Maslova appeared in the episode.

The perestroika years were a period of stagnation in the artist’s life. Maslova was not offered any roles, and when the money ran out, so did her friends. The woman drowned her hopelessness in alcohol until she heard a terrible diagnosis from doctors: Nina Konstantinovna was told that she had only a few days left to live. Maslova found consolation in church.

Perhaps the doctors were mistaken, or maybe faith helped, but a year later Nina Maslova felt better and said goodbye to her addiction. In the new century, the Soviet queen of the episode was remembered and invited to appear in TV series. Maslova starred in the melodramas “Bless the Woman”, “Angel on the Roads”, “Captain’s Children”.

In the series “Russian Roulette. Female version” Nina Konstantinovna appeared in the image of a retired actress, and she got an episode in the black-and-white noir drama directed by Stanislav Govorukhin “Weekend”. The film premiered at the Sochi Kinotavr in the summer of 2013. In 2014 and 2016, director Olga Belyaeva invited Nina Maslova to her projects “The Secret of the Dark Room” and “Dangerous Holidays.”

Personal life

The family life of the beautiful actress did not work out: her marriages ended in separation. Nina Maslova never gave birth to a child.

The artist’s first husband was a Bulgarian: the meeting took place at VGIK. Having made incredible efforts, Maslova escaped to Bulgaria, to her beloved. But during the red tape with the preparation of documents for departure, the Bulgarian husband found himself another lover.

Nina Maslova and Vladimir Tikhonov

The romantic relationship with Mordyukova’s son ended at the moment when Tikhonov’s pregnant wife Natalya Varley came to the shooting of “Russian Field”. Nina Maslova did not want to destroy the marriage and leave the child without a father.

The second husband was an official, whom Mordyukova, who favored her, introduced her young colleague. Nina was unable to live with her influential husband; the marriage did not last even six months. Maslova does not want to remember all other marriages, she says that

“They were little different from each other: drinking, quarreling.”

Further life, not as successful as we would like...

Now these films constitute the golden fund of Soviet cinema. Nina Maslova became famous throughout the country. Unfortunately, her further career did not succeed on such a scale as the actress expected. Yes, until the early nineties she acted constantly. But these were all supporting roles, and she was not offered leading roles. The most notable (and perhaps interesting) roles were his work in the comedy “Two Arrows. Stone Age Detective" (Walker's mistress), the comedy melodrama "Beauty Salon" (Nina Konstantinova), the film "Sincerely Yours" (waitress Olya)…
