Kolokolnikov Yuri was born in 1980 (December 15) in Moscow. He comes from an educated and respected family. His father is a mathematician, a specialist in the field of socionics, his mother is a professional translator. Our hero has a brother.
His parents divorced when Yura was very young. The mother raised two children alone. She often went abroad for a long time, and took her sons with her.
Until the age of 10, the future actor managed to live in the USA, Canada and Kamchatka. He grew up as an active and naughty child. His mother couldn't calm him down. In 1998, the second film with his participation was released. In the melodrama “Retro Threesome” he played the groom. Then he was approved for the role of Sasha in the film “Envy of the Gods.”
In 2000, Yura received a diploma from “Pike”. And he went to the USA to conquer Hollywood. The Russian guy lived in New York and Los Angeles for almost a year. He failed to build an acting career in a foreign land. To survive, Kolokolnikov worked as a courier, a loader in a store and a waiter in a cafe.
In 2001, the young man returned to Moscow. Almost immediately, Yuri received his first leading role, which brought him all-Russian fame. We are talking about the war film “In August 1944”. Kolokolnikov’s character is Andrei Blinov, a SMERSH officer. This image was remembered and loved by thousands of viewers. The film also featured Beata Tyshkevich, Vladislav Galkin and Evgeniy Mironov.

Leader of the Thenn
Another qualitative breakthrough in Yuri Kolokolnikov’s creative career occurred in 2014. He starred in the landmark film Game of Thrones. I got into the film project largely thanks to my acquaintance with casting director Nina Gold. She told Yuri that an actor was needed for the series, and he came to the audition. As a result, he was approved for the role of Stir, the leader of the Thenns.
It was hard working on the set. Yuri Kolokolnikov spent several hours every day learning to handle weapons without taking off his heavy suit, which weighed about 10 kilograms. He also had to learn to speak with a British accent. However, the most difficult were the flights. Yuri starred in several projects at once. Therefore, he regularly flew from Iceland to St. Petersburg and back.
But Yuri does not regret anything and does not complain. After all, thanks to this role, he not only starred in a large-scale project, but also met such stars as Kit Harington, Rose Leslie and Emilia Clarke. Yuri speaks only positively about the project. He considers it a genius, calling each individual episode a masterpiece.

In 2020, Kolokolnikov’s fans will be able to see 3 films with his participation. In the detective story Countdown he will play Major Konstantin Korsakov. Yuri Kolokolnikov will also appear in the adventure film “Journey to China. The Mystery of the Iron Mask.
There is one more reason to be happy for the Russian actor. The fact is that he was contacted by Hollywood producers who offered to star in the action movie Lazarat Burning. Our hero agreed. Yuri Kolokolnikov can be seen from afar: firstly, he is almost two meters tall, and secondly, he knows how to wear a neon pink hat with both a relaxed trench coat and a tuxedo. It’s half a step to the best-dressed list on some vanity fair. Yes, Kolokolnikov is on the right track: he starred with Michael Bay and became the face of the History channel, which released a series of short films about people from different parts of Russia who study its history and develop its culture.
Yuri told PEOPLETALK what came of it, how he feels about Russian cinema, about his daughters and plans for the New Year.
How did the project with the History channel begin? Why did you create it?
For the sake of likes, of course. (Laughs.) It started with the fact that History wanted to be closer to the Russian audience, refresh their channel and make a project about Russian history. We decided that it should be about modern people who are connected with history, study it and research it. That's how we shot the first five videos. The project is actually not at all easy, because you need to travel to different parts of our country, meet people, and negotiate filming.
How was the filming?
I am not a presenter who inquires, but rather a guest. I was with the heroes for two days at a time, and we communicated with them as friends, I could ask anything about their business, about themselves. This was really interesting to me.
You recently starred in Michael Bay's 6 Underground. There is little information about him on the Internet, can you tell us more?
Do you think that if there is little information on the Internet, then I will take it all and tell you everything? This is a Michael Bay project, and that's it. It's a huge action movie and I just finished filming the day before yesterday. I had been filming since the end of September, and they were filming throughout August. Filming took place in Florence, Abu Dhabi, Rome. And this is, of course, a unique experience. At the moment, this is Netflix's largest project with a budget of $170 million. I can’t talk about my role, but it’s nothing special, believe me. Although the very fact that I work there already makes me happy.
What are the main differences between the film industry there and here?
The process and technology are the same everywhere. But there are completely different budgets, they work for the whole world and can afford it, because their industry is already 100 years old.
Why do you continue to participate in Russian projects?
Why, in fact, should I not participate in them? Weird question. I have interesting projects here, roles, directors, screenwriters. I'm still a beginner artist there. With a good biography, cool projects, but consider him a beginner. And let me tell you, I really like it. In the Western mentality in general there is a completely different cult of work. If you have at least some kind of work, then this is incredibly cool! And it doesn’t matter where! Here, there or on Mars!
You have a very busy schedule, premiere after premiere, do you have time to devote time to your family and daughters (Yuri has two daughters, 6-year-old Sofia from Ksenia Rappoport, and 11-year-old Taisiya. - Ed.)?
Yes, I have time, they are also running around. And with me, and I with them. There is no other way in this profession.
Do they watch your films? Do they have favorites?
They used to have a favorite “Breakfast at Dad’s”, but now I don’t know, they’re watching something. What am I going to show them? “Why, dad, did they kill you again? Well, dad, when will they stop killing you?” - they usually ask (laughs.)
Which Russian star are you friends with?
We know everyone, we all work together. Zhenya Tsyganov is my closest friend. He and I went to school together from the age of 11.
Do you have any friends among American actors?
I'm not friends with anyone. Well, more precisely, I’m friends with everyone, but especially with no one. It just seems that the artist has nothing else to do, just make friends and walk on red carpets. He has no time at all, he is always on flights and in some kind of trash.

In his youth, the actor often had affairs with beautiful girls. He only thought about a serious relationship when he met Ksenia Rappoport. She is also a representative of the acting fraternity. Yura did everything to win Ksenia's heart. Soon the couple began to live under the same roof.
In January 2011, Yu. Kolokolnikov and K. Rappoport had a daughter together. The baby was named Sofia. The couple was in no hurry to go to the registry office. After all, the stamp in Yura and Ksyusha’s passport was considered a mere formality.

After some time, Ksenia became the wife of a Moscow restaurateur. In the spring of 2020, journalists released information that the actor had a new girlfriend - St. Petersburg model Diana Laforte.
