Childhood of Maxim Potashev

Potashev Maxim Oskarovich was born in Moscow on January 20, 1969.
Father - Oscar Potashev was a candidate of technical sciences, as well as the head of the laboratory in Balabanov, and wrote many scientific papers. Since childhood, Maxim has been fond of sports, in particular football, basketball and biathlon. In all sports I constantly supported CSKA. Also, from an early age I regularly watched everyone’s favorite TV show “What? Where? When?".

Maxim Potashev about success In 1991, Potashev graduated from the Faculty of Applied Mathematics and Management of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. During his studies, Maxim was already thinking that it would be interesting to take part in the famous intellectual game.

Books and trainings

Potashev’s new book with the self-explanatory title “Why do you lose at ChGK?”, which was published in 2005, was also dedicated to victories, or rather the lack thereof for some newcomers.

In 2020, another book by Maxim Potashev was published. This time the expert did not write about an intellectual game. The book “The Age of the Client” is dedicated to his main managerial activities and talks about how to competently build a system of relationships between the company and the client.

Maxim Potashev successfully conducts trainings

In the same year, another book by Potashev, “The Path of Solution,” was published, where the expert shares with readers ways of thinking that help both win intellectual games and cope with business problems.

In addition to participating in the ChGK, the intellectual conducts seminars and trainings on the development of thinking and intelligence, sales and marketing, team building and decision-making technologies, during which he teaches his listeners to use intuition and work with each other. The intellectual and business trainings of the expert are in great demand; the schedule of his master classes and lectures until June 2020 has now been published, and you can now order a ticket for each training.

The career of Maxim Potashev and the beginning of television games, “What? Where? When?"

After graduating from the university, Maxim Potashev was invited to teach at the same institution in the department of applied economics.
He worked there for many years. After the career he created at the university, in 1989 Maxim took part in the selection for the famous TV show “What? Where? When?". In 1990, not stopping there, he took part in the Brain Ring game, which is also somewhat similar to that game. It so happened that it was then that the game was first filmed for showing on television.

Thus, the period from 1989 to 1994 was the time when Maxim Potashev became involved in the world of intellectual television games. In 1994, the famous polymath also entered the elite club of players in “What? Where? When?". After that, not a single game was missed. It was a huge success, because in those days, out of thousands of players around the world, only a few made it to television screens.

Later, Maxim Potashev got a job as the head of an analytical center known for producing antiviruses for computer software.

Potashev also worked in several consulting and marketing agencies in senior positions.

Elena Alexandrova’s vivid television biography began with her entry into the club of experts. In the television intellectual game “What? Where? When?" Elena Alexandrova made her debut in 2003 in the team of Maxim Potashev. The next year, Elena joined the all-female team under the command of Valentina Golubeva, but this project turned out to be short-lived, so Elena returned under the leadership of Potashev.

But Elena Alexandrova had her most striking performances in the team of one of the best captains of the elite club - Andrei Kozlov. Together with Elena, famous TV quiz show masters Mikhail Moon, Alexey Kapustin, Elena Orlova, Igor Kondratyuk and others sat at the same table. In the new season of spring games 2020, Elena again joined the team of her beloved captain, and all fans of intellectual games were able to enjoy the play of this strong and united team.

In addition to participating in intellectual club games, Alexandrova was also a popularizer of this game. Elena Alexandrova organized official quizzes among students, schoolchildren and even subscribers of the printed publication “Science and Life”. These amateur games, designed to raise interest among citizens in smart entertainment and revive the culture of acquiring knowledge, were held under the general title “Working on Mistakes.”

Personal life

Elena Alexandrova photography

Back in the early 2000s, Elena Alexandrova married her fellow expert, and later three-time winner of the Crystal Owl prize, Maxim Potashev. In 2005, the couple had twins Andrei and Roman. Maxim and Elena were, as they say, inseparable; they were considered not only a strong married couple, but also played for the same team of Andrei Kozlov for many years. Moreover, as Potashev said in his interviews, they know everything about each other - from preferences and habits to tastes and interests, they even manage to predict their partner’s desires before he or she voices them.

However, even such friendly intra-family relations did not save the union from collapse. The couple divorced, and before the divorce there was an extremely ugly and unpleasant story. Maxim Potashev met another woman, also an expert and the namesake of his first wife - Elena Chukhraeva.

The most unpleasant thing is that Elena was not only left alone with two children in her arms, but at that moment was quite late in the month of pregnancy. Alexandrova categorically broke off all relations with her ex-husband, and when her daughter Vasilina was born, Maxim Potashev was not even included in her documents as a father.

Elena Alexandrova now

Today Elena Alexandrova continues to play “What? Where? When?" and regularly appears on television as a member of an intellectual club.

The first game of the 2020 fall season was played by Andrei Kozlov’s team, in which Elena Alexandrova also played. Channel One showed this game on September 25, 2020. The game turned out to be difficult. At first, the team lost to TV viewers. The situation could have been corrected by a super blitz, but Mikhail Moon, who was left for the super blitz, failed to cope with the second question. But at the end of the game, Andrei Kozlov’s team, with difficulty, won with a score of 6:5. Elena Alexandrova was recognized as the best player of the team.

On November 20, 2020, the winter series of games started. Here Elena Alexandrova acted as team captain. Moreover, Elena’s team is made up of owners of the “Crystal Owl”.

This game was not without scandal. The players had difficulty answering a question from a TV viewer about the ladies standing by the road, which was seen by writer Henry Petroski (correct answer: books). At this time, the expert Rovshan Askerov, standing in the hall, was indignant that the club master Andrei Kozlov suggested to the team. According to Askerov, the master loudly pronounced the word “books,” but the manager of the hall did not notice the hint and did not show Kozlov the red card.

Alexandrova’s team gave the answer “bookshelf”, and the answer was counted. Rovshan Asgarov, who was caught more than once using tips and their use, was dissatisfied with the injustice and prejudiced attitude.

Today Elena Alexandrova comes out to play both as a captain and as a team player.

In September 2020, in the autumn series of games, Elena joined the team of the master of the intellectual club and the holder of the title “Best Club Captain” Andrei Kozlov. The team also included Crystal Owl winners Mikhail Moon, Vladimir Antokhin, Alexey Kapustin and Elena Orlova.

In the winter series, Elena again acted as captain. On November 20, 2017, another curious incident occurred. Elena Alexandrova lost to her own namesake. Translator from Omsk Polina Aleksandrova asked a question about fordite stone, which has become rare in the last ten years. The team captain volunteered to answer, but gave the wrong answer. The players correctly associated the stone with Henry Ford and car paint, but concluded that the problem was in the composition of the paint, and not in the fact that technology had improved and the overuse and multi-layered pieces of paint from which Fordites were polished had disappeared.

After this loss, the team answered the next four questions correctly and won the game.

Hobbies of Maxim Potashev

Since childhood, Maxim Potashev was fond of watching sports games, including basketball, football and biathlon. That’s when I started rooting for my favorite teams. After starting an independent and adult life, I tried to bet on sports games. Many admired the famous player's versatile talents, and even took advice on sports analysis. Maxim himself claims that he almost never places bets, but loves to win.

Potashev Maxim - now and in childhood

Everyone knows that Maxim Potashev is also interested in intellectual games, and this is not only the game “What? Where? When?". For example, several years ago he won the Moscow tournament in the game “Own Game”. This game is watched and loved all over the world. As a true professional of intellectual shows, Maxim did not miss the opportunity to play. However, he later admitted that this game was not his type at all. He believes that the tournament was won completely by accident.

Maxim Potashev is an exceptionally versatile personality. He has his own opinion on any event or expression. For example, when asked about the usefulness of television games, the player also answered in a rather unique way. He believes that television games do not benefit television viewers. They are only useful when a person, or especially a child, plays it themselves. Thousands of gaming clubs in all cities of the country are useful. Thousands of children have already grown up playing intellectual games, and it has not harmed them in any way.

Personal life

The personal life of Anastasia Shutova is no secret to anyone. Playing in the club of experts “What? Where? When?”, she met Ilya Novikov, and a romantic relationship began between the young successful lawyer and the young intellectual. The couple dated for a short time, and in 2013, Ilya proposed marriage to Anastasia.

The wedding ceremony took place in July of the same year. The young people went on a twelve-day trip to the North Pole, during which the captain of the nuclear icebreaker “50 Let Pobedy” performed the wedding ceremony.

Despite the hot July, the temperature at the North Pole was below minus five degrees Celsius. In this regard, the newlyweds chose more suitable clothes for the wedding - winter down jackets. However, there was a mandatory element of the bride’s wardrobe – a veil. More than 150 people witnessed such an important event for young people.

Despite the beautiful, creative, and unique ceremony, it had no legal force. It was for this reason that, upon returning from the trip, the couple registered at one of the registry offices, fully legitimizing their relationship. Unfortunately, the newlyweds were unable to go on their long-awaited honeymoon due to the couple’s heavy workload.

However, their married life lasted only two years, and in 2015 they divorced. For many TV viewers, their separation caused bewilderment, because the couple often appeared together in public and there was not even a hint of a wormhole in their married life.

The ex-husband and wife do not provide information about the reason for their separation, so fans of two extraordinary personalities can only guess what was the reason for the divorce.

However, the charismatic beauty did not remain in splendid isolation for long. In the personal life of expert Anastasia Shutova, a man has appeared again. This time, her chosen one was a member of the elite club of experts “What? Where? When?”, native of Yerevan, Kim Galachyan, playing in Belozerov’s team.

The young man had long liked Anastasia, but her affair with Novikov, which ended in a wedding, did not allow Kim to talk openly about his own feelings. After the young intellectual’s marriage broke up, Galachyan decided to take fate into his own hands and began courting Anastasia.

The young man managed to quickly achieve the beauty’s favor and win her heart. In October 2020, their wedding took place. The newlyweds look absolutely happy and madly in love, which does not prevent them from showing high results in intellectual games at the “What? Where? When?", which united their hearts.

Currently, expert Anastasia Shutova is a full member of an elite, intellectual casino and a happy wife. The couple are silent about their family life, preferring not to let strangers into it, especially journalists.

Andrey Kozlov, what where when, for a long time was the leader of one of the teams of the popular game “What? Where? When?". B. Burda, A. Druz, M. Potashev and many other eminent intellectuals were partners of our hero.

A huge role in shaping the views on life of the future showman and connoisseur of the popular game Andrei Kozlov was influenced by his own grandmother. Andrey often had to visit the theater, where his grandmother worked her entire career and earned recognition as a People's Artist of Ukraine. Here the student learned the intricacies of theatrical skill. The six-year-old boy participated in various ceremonies and concert programs.

It happened during the summer holidays that I went on tour to collective farms. After graduating from school, the young man entered the chemistry department of Donetsk University without any problems. He showed leadership abilities in amateur performances and was an organizer of concert festivals. Andrey remembers his student years with warmth and, having a career of more than a dozen years of directing behind him, openly says that he is not ashamed of the evenings and creative concerts that he directed in his youth.

Personal life of Maxim Potashev

Maxim Potashev is a very calm and intelligent person.
In life, he makes any decisions after thinking everything through. However, this does not prevent him from being successful in a game where decisions must be made quickly and correctly. Maxim Potashev believes that intellectual games help him a lot in life when he needs to make a quick and only correct decision. Potashev also has his own opinion about the Internet. More recently, Maxim used the Internet only as an assistant in his own business. However, now I have found it very entertaining to simply wander through Internet resources and absorb information, communicate with new people and just have fun. He is glad that thanks to this he can freely communicate with friends who live abroad.

Presentation of the master's title to Maxim Potashev, December 30, 2000 Being a player does not mean being a gambler. The famous Russian mind games player is firmly convinced of this.

Maxim Potashev wants to be cool-headed. He believes that only with common sense, cold blood and without panic can you safely get out of a situation of any complexity. The same principle is used in the game. However, on screen he wants to appear sociable and relaxed. This gives him confidence.

An intellectual is fond of reading. Loves poetry, including such great poets as Pushkin, Blok, Pasternak or Voloshin. He also likes to read prose. Lately he has been interested in books in the fantasy style.

Potashev considers laziness to be his main disadvantage. But he is actively fighting it.

Always strive to solve any problems without quarrels and conflicts. Very peaceful.

Potashev never complained about the crowds of fans in Moscow. This is because in a big city people do not look around and do not notice the player of the famous intellectual show. He often feels guilty that he never responds to fan mail he receives. Maxim thinks this is ugly and unethical.

What he values most in those around him is decency, intelligence and kindness. These are the main qualities that must be present in a person. Maxim can forgive absolutely everything to a loved one. He believes that life is much easier this way.

Maxim Potashev rarely appears in public with his wife

Personal life

The famous player and presenter keeps his personal life in the strictest confidence. It is difficult for journalists to call Andrei for a frank interview; even during the game he is not very sociable. What is known is that he has a wife named Anna. Andrei’s parents were not poor all the time and taught their son to be independent from an early age. Even during his student years, Andrei managed to earn extra money, and he did it well. Perhaps it was luck, but having once purchased a summer cottage for only 8,000 greenbacks, he profitably invested the money he earned in the land project. At the moment, such a hacienda is already valued at 140,000.

What man doesn't like driving fast? Andrey Anatolyevich is no exception, only he prefers ideal foreign tracks with a permitted speed limit, where he truly enjoys the process. Other hobbies of the showman:
