- Sing! By the way, for the first time I was asked to sing at the audition, the director had to literally persuade me. — Not a single film story about a real person can do without fiction. The creators of the series started from real facts, but there are things that we could not know. For example, it is known that Zykina was a soloist of the Pyatnitsky Choir, but how she came to this had to be thought out.

“For many, Lyudmila Georgievna is a legend, a kind of monument,” says series cameraman Alexander Aleshnikov. “But in the process of working on the series, I learned a lot of new things that I had never heard about her before.

For example, the story of when Zykina sang in Afghanistan is quite well known. But I, for example, learned its details for the first time. After all, she did not obey the order to sing for the generals in a safe place, but without permission went to perform on the front line for the soldiers. Their column was fired upon several times. This trip, according to our film, cost her a personal tragedy. After a deployment to Afghanistan, her husband left her. He could not stand the horror: they were flying in a helicopter, came under fire, and made an emergency landing. Lyudmila, who was injured, was more worried about the fate of the helicopter pilot, the crew commander. And her husband just lay down on the ground and sobbed in fear...

“But they wrote that he left her for another woman!”
