Early years, childhood and family of Igor Sarukhanov

Igor Armenovich Sarukhanov was born on April 6, 1956 in the ancient Uzbek city of Samarkand. However, despite this, there is practically no Uzbek blood in the veins of our today’s hero. By origin, both of his parents belong to the Armenian nation. In addition, in the family tree of the famous musician’s family one can also find Russian and Azerbaijani lines.

As for the place of birth itself, in this regard everything is also very conditional. The thing is that our today’s hero almost never lived in Samarkand itself. When the boy was not yet four years old, his parents moved to Moscow, where Igor Sarukhanov’s father studied at one of the universities there. Subsequently, the Sarukhanov family remained in the capital of the RSFSR forever. Father - Armen Vaganovich - got a job as a teacher at one of the technical institutes. And my mother, Roza Ashotovna, began working as a teacher of Russian language and literature in one of the Moscow schools.

Thus, the entire conscious life of our today's hero was spent in Moscow. Therefore, Igor always considered this city to be his hometown. In the capital of the RSFSR, the future musician entered a secondary school, and at the same time began to study music for the first time. Igor Sarukhanov took his first steps towards creativity at a very young age. His parents once gave him his first guitar, and then took the guy to a music school, where our today's hero learned the basics of classical guitar music. He liked this. And therefore, subsequently, Igor Sarukhanov became practically inseparable from his guitar.

It is quite remarkable that some time later the parents themselves began to dissuade their son from studying music. The thing is that Armen Vaganovich and Roza Ashotovna always wanted their son, when he grew up, to choose a technical specialty, like his father. Therefore, for a long time, the boy’s parents did literally everything to ensure that their son chose a “more serious profession” for himself in life. However, Igor Sarukhanov was unshakable, and at one point his parents had to give up.

At first, the young musician performed as part of various semi-amateur bands, and then managed to break into the professional stage.

Biography

Family

Born on April 6, 1956 in Samarkand, has Armenian roots[2]. Maternal ancestors come from Goris, and paternal ancestors come from Stepanakert. My paternal great-grandfather was a wealthy man, engaged in grain, timber, stone processing, and had several plants and factories under his command. In 1921-22, during the famine in the Volga region, he sent grain trains from his factories there. During mass repressions, in order to avoid arrest and execution, he destroyed all documents and abandoned his own property.

• Father - Armen Vaganovich Sarukhanyan (1930-1991), scientist, candidate of technical sciences, taught at a technical university.
• Mother - Rosa Ashotovna Sarukhanova (1932-1991), teacher of Russian language and literature.
• Wife - Tatyana Anatolyevna Sarukhanova (1975), member of the Union of Artists of Russia. Daughter - Lyubov Igorevna Sarukhanova (2008)[3].

Childhood, youth and early creativity

He was born in Samarkand, but did not live there long. When he was 4 years old, the family, due to the need to defend his father’s dissertation, moved to Moscow. The future singer graduated from music school No. 1 in classical guitar in Dolgoprudny[5]. During his school years, Igor gave concerts with his rock band, in cafes and on dance floors in the city of Dolgoprudny, receiving monetary compensation for these performances. And since, in Soviet times, a Komsomol member and a school student did not have the right to work, they wanted to expel Sarukhanov from school, but, as always, Igor’s father came to the rescue, and the incident was settled. Igor was highly respected among local hooligans for singing, playing the guitar, and delighting city residents on dance floors and discos.[3].

The parents were afraid to send their son to the army and enrolled him in the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Moscow Military District, where he met Stas Namin. Soon after this, in 1979, he was invited to the Blue Bird ensemble, and later from there to the Flowers group, where he performed until 1981. In 1981, Sarukhanov, together with his colleagues in the “Flowers” ​​group, founded the “Circle” group, and worked in it until 1984[2].

Solo creativity

Igor Sarukhanov’s solo career began in 1985 as part of the program of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow (at which he won first prize in the competition for the best song about Moscow - “Moscow Space”)[5]. In 1986, the singer’s first giant disc, “If We Are Along the Path,” was released. From that moment on, he began to tour actively and received the title of laureate of the Bratislava Lyre festival. In 1984, at the festival in Sopot, he was awarded first prize as the author of the song “Behind a Sharp Turn.” In 1990, the first professional video clip was shot for Igor Sarukhanov’s song “Barber” (directed by Mikhail Khleborodov)[2].

Poetry career

As a poet and composer, he worked with Tõnis Mägi, Sergei Chelobanov, Anne Veski, the group "Combination", Alexander Marshal, Batyrkhan Shukenov, the group "A'Studio", Alexey Shumakov, the group "City 312", with Nikolai Trubach, with Vladimir Presnyakov and other artists[2].

Igor Sarukhanov began his performances on the big stage by working in the ensembles “Blue Bird”, “Flowers” ​​and “Circle”. In these groups, our today's hero performed as a guitarist and vocalist. Thus, in the period from 1984 to 1990, Igor Sarukhanov was noted at such musical forums as “Bratislava Lyre”, “Sopot Festival” and some others.

All these successes allowed the artist to loudly declare himself and thereby attract the attention of the audience. The musician continued to work as a composer with other pop stars, and also often delighted his fans with solo records. To date, the artist’s official discography includes eighteen discs, among which there are both full-length albums and various collections.

In 1998, the musician received the title of Honored Artist of Russia.

Before meeting his current wife, the musician was married five times: to plastic choreographer Olga Tatarenko, archaeologist Nina Sarukhanova, lead singer of the gypsy trio Angela, fashion designer Elena Lenskaya and ballerina Ekaterina Golubeva-Poldi. And only with his sixth wife did he finally find the happiness of fatherhood.

And I will take your names,” he named her in honor of his mother - Rose. Let us remind you that Igor Sarukhanov already has a child – daughter Lyuba, who was born in 2008. He is not the biological father, but he is raising the girl as a true parent. In February, the musician was overwhelmed by unprecedented inspiration: a new album will soon be ready, which the singer will dedicate to his newborn.

– They offered me, but I didn’t want to. This is a sacrament. During childbirth there should be only a woman and a doctor. The husband doesn't have to see this.

– You need to talk a lot with children, read to them and give them knowledge in doses. In the process of growing up, it is necessary for children to communicate with smart people, then the child will learn to formulate thoughts succinctly and avoid tongue-tied speech. If the child said something incorrectly, then you need to ask him to repeat it correctly. Of course, there is no need to swear in front of a child.

My eldest daughter Lyuba (born in 2008) is now engaged in rhythmic gymnastics, music - she sings from notes, learns languages. We are trying to ensure that she grows up to be a well-rounded girl. By the age of six, Lyuba can already speak, read and write well. I don't want girls to follow in my footsteps. But I will approve if they themselves sincerely want to study at a conservatory or major in pop-jazz vocals. We have excellent teachers who can raise worthy musicians. In general, time will tell. In any case, I will always help Lyuba and Rosa, I will always support.

Igor's sixth marriage gave him full-fledged family happiness. He considers his previous relationships a wonderful experience and interesting meetings.

After the birth of their daughter, Igor and Tatyana are helped by their grandmother (wife’s mother).

“When Tanya’s mother leaves,” says Sarukhanov, “I have little idea what I will do.” Nowadays it is very difficult to find a suitable nanny. At the moment our relatives are helping us. Of course, we are not going to leave the child with a nanny. We will be looking not so much for a nanny, but for a help person, a teacher. Tanya takes care of children.

Igor is immersed in pleasant chores and waits for the girl to grow up a little so that he can sing lullabies to her.
