Revolution
The Tatu group has achieved incredible popularity not only in Russia, but also abroad. Since their collapse, not a single musical group has been able to achieve the same success. Teenage girls revolutionized the world of music, their hits topped the top charts from England to Japan for several months.
Many argued about such a resounding success of the soloists. Some said that there was nothing like it on the stage at that moment, others that the songs they performed were instantly catchy and they wanted to listen to them again and again.
After the release of the video in which girls kiss and sing about broken love, many were simply shocked - there had never been anything like this on Russian television before. “Tattoo” risked being categorically rejected by the public or, on the contrary, arousing interest. In addition, the creative team, led by producer Ivan Shapovalov, was not ready to retreat; they were initially determined to achieve success, but they hardly imagined what kind.
Story
Create a group
The duet “Tatu” was created by commercial screenwriter Ivan Shapovalov in 1999 together with composer Alexander Voitinsky. Shapovalov and Voitinsky held a casting for the role of the soloist, as a result of which Lena Katina was chosen. Several songs were recorded, including “Yugoslavia”, dedicated to the American bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999. Later, Ivan Shapovalov decided to create a duet and invited Lena Katina to invite another girl to the group. She invited Yulia Volkova (who had previously also participated in the casting), her candidacy was approved by Shapovalov. Both were 15 years old at the time. A lesbian image was chosen for the duet. The girls knew each other before the creation of “Tatu”; both performed in the children’s vocal and instrumental ensemble “Fidgets”. The name of the group, as the members of the duet later said, could mean “Ta loves Tu.”
The lyrics of the song “I've lost my mind” were written by journalist Elena Kiper and VGIK student Valery Polienko, music by Sergey Galoyan. The financial sponsor was businessman Boris Rensky. To manage the creative process, it was created headed by Shapovalov.
Co-producer of the duo, Elena Kiper, said that the idea of using the image of lesbians came to her after watching the film “Show Me Love” (“Fucking Åmål”, 1998) by Swedish film director Lukas Moodysson. The plot of the film is based on the love of two schoolgirls.
2000-2001
In 2000, the single “I'm crazy” was released, which for several months took first place in the charts of Russian radio stations. In October, a video was released that immediately took first place on MTV Russia. Makeup artist Andrei Drykin worked on the visual image of the soloists together with Shapovalov. On December 19, the group’s soloists give their first press conference at the school where Yulia Volkova studied.
Nineteen years ago, back in 1999, this duo of teenage girls literally burst onto the domestic scene. Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova shocked the entire post-Soviet space with their allegedly unconventional orientation. With their first video, “I'm Crazy,” the girls from the group “TaTu” created a real sensation.
Of course, then it became clear to everyone that the lesbian relationships of the group members were just a successful marketing ploy, but they made a lot of noise. Their songs remained in first place on all radio stations and music channels for a long time. The first album “200 in the opposite direction” sold a million copies.
In 2003, the duo decided to conquer Europe. But at the Eurovision song contest the group took only third place. Over the years, the girls have released several Russian- and English-language albums. Their concert activity was not limited only to Russia. They toured from Tokyo in the east to Mexico City in the west.
The girls performed together until 2009. After this, the group members went their separate ways. The press constantly discussed news about the duo's reunion, but everything was limited to a few joint performances.
Title "Tattoo"
The name "Tattoo" meant "that one is in love with that one." Since downloading music online was not widespread at that time, fans of the band’s work literally swept albums off store shelves. In terms of CD sales, Tatu even surpassed Madonna and Michael Jackson. Therefore, the decision was made to convert the group to an international audience. And since the Tatu group already existed in Australia, the duo was named tATu

Yulia Volkova and Lena Katina now: what the members of the scandalous Tatu group look like
In the dashing nineties, advertiser and provocateur Ivan Shapovalov created a group with the ambiguous name “Tatu” (tATu), whose young soloists Lena Katina and Yulia Volkova promoted same-sex love. Girls dressed in school uniforms famously sang about the passions boiling between them, kissed on stage, poured water on each other on camera and starred in candid photo shoots, and in the videos staged school coups, stole trucks and blew up children's carousels.
The group's main hit was the song “I'm Crazy” from the debut album “200 in the opposite direction.” Sales of the album in Russia amounted to more than a million copies, the English version of the album sold more than seven million copies worldwide.
In 2009, Lena and Yulia began solo careers. By that time, Volkova had already given birth to a daughter, Victoria, from her bodyguard, Pavel Sidorov, and a son, Samir, from the heir to the general director of a major investment and construction company, Parviz Yasinov. After a secret wedding with Yasinov, the singer converted to Islam, the lovers eventually separated, Yulia returned to Orthodoxy and now does not talk much about her personal life.
Last year, Yulia Volkova openly spoke about the fact that several years ago she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. During an unsuccessful operation to remove a tumor, she lost her voice - and as a result was forced to undergo two more operations in Germany and one in Korea.
Fortunately for Yulia's fans and friends, she managed to overcome the disease and return to the stage. This spring, at the Mayovka Live festival, Volkova presented a new song, “Just Forget.”
Lena Katina married Slovenian rock musician Sasho Kuzmanovic, with whom she gave birth to a son, Alexander, two years ago, and now lives in Los Angeles.
Lena began her solo career in the international music project Lena Katina, recorded new songs and covered old hits “Tatu”. The latter, by the way, did not initially cause delight among her colleague Yulia Volkova. In 2020, a video was released for the song Golde Leaves, recorded in a duet with Italian singer Noemi Smorra, which received several prizes at festivals in Los Angeles and Berlin.
Lena is currently working on a Russian-language version of her debut solo album, This Is Who I Am, which she co-wrote with her husband and re-released in Spanish last summer.
"Eurovision"
At the peak of the group's popularity, the producer accepts an offer to participate in the Eurovision contest held in Riga. The song “Don’t believe, don’t be afraid, don’t ask” was chosen for the performance, which seemed to many to be an unsuccessful decision for a competition of this format. Moreover, the duo practically did not rehearse it and reserved the right to do what they wanted on stage.
However, in the end, the girls decided not to shock the European public by doing without kissing. In the final they took third place, which seemed biased to most. The producer initially wanted to challenge the results, but eventually changed his mind because they already had an extremely busy schedule.
Music
A breakthrough in the duo’s creative biography was the song “I’ve Lost My Mind,” which brought popularity to teenagers. The single stubbornly remained at the top of the radio charts for several months. Following this, a video was released about the love story of two schoolgirls, which also had incredible success, winning gold on the Russian MTV channel.
The song “I'm crazy” by the group “Tatu”
The authors took the creation of the video seriously. The soloists had to change their image: Lena lost ten kg, Yulia lost her long hair and turned into a burning brunette. The work itself took two whole weeks.
The clip, which tells the story of the isolation of lesbian girls from the outside world, gave rise to a lot of controversy on the topic of same-sex relationships. And the Tatu soloists found themselves at the epicenter of the scandal and everyone’s attention. The girls were allowed to communicate with the press and give autographs to a minimum; a whole set of rules was created about what can and cannot be done. In particular, it was forbidden to answer questions about orientation at all.
Group "Tatu"
2001 was a busy year for the group. In the spring, Tatu presented fans with the debut album “200 in the opposite direction,” which sold out in the first couple of months with a circulation of 500 thousand copies. This was a record for Russian-speaking groups, and sales abroad were also dizzying. They even managed to surpass Madonna and Michael Jackson in terms of CD sales. The song “They Won’t Catch Up with Us,” which was included in the album, was turned into a video.
By the end of summer, the “tattoos” decided to finally conquer Europe, starting to translate their debut album into English. People abroad were already looking forward to work. The girls had to improve their English under the guidance of a Moscow State University teacher. They also never stopped traveling with concerts all over the country, and also visited Ukraine, Belarus, and the Baltic states.

In the same year, the duo’s repertoire was replenished with a new song, “Half an Hour,” which also did not leave the top lines of radio stations for a long time. The group celebrated winning the MTV Video Music Awards at New York's Metropolitan and winning the Music Catwalk competition in the "Hittest Song" category.
In 2002, the group presented foreign fans with their hits in English “Not Gonna Get Us”, “I’ve Lost My Mind”, as well as “All the Things She Said”, which received gold and platinum status. We had to change the name of the duo: the group began to bear the name tATu because the group “Tatu” already existed in Australia.
Group "Tatu" at Eurovision
A year later, in the spring of 2003, the tATu duo went to defend the honor of their native country at Eurovision. The girls performed the song “Don’t believe, don’t be afraid, don’t ask” and confidently won third place, losing to artists from Turkey and Belgium. The discrepancies in the scores turned out to be small; the Russians suspected irregularities in the voting system, but the protest was rejected.
The group did not continue its rapid ascent to the Olympus of music for long. In the winter of 2004, the STS channel launched the project “Tatu in the Celestial Empire” in the format of a reality show, in which the group members demonstrated their work on their second album. However, soon a decline began in the duo’s activities - Katina and Volkova broke up with Shapovalov.
Song "Friend or Foe" by the group "Tatu"
The release of the new record, created in a London studio, took place only in the fall of 2005. The album had the Russian title “People with Disabilities” and the English title “Dangerous and Moving”, from which only three singles were released - “All About Us”, “Friend or Foe” and “Gomenasai”. The first one entered the top ten of the European charts, the others did not achieve such dizzying success. A little later, a video was shot for “All About Us” in America, which included footage from the artists’ live performance.
In support of their new work, the girls staged a grandiose promotional tour, the geography of which even included Japan, Argentina and Brazil. A wave of concerts swept across Russia. During the tour, the Tatu soloists decided to refute the established lesbian image. In every interview, Lena and Yulia did not forget to emphasize that they had exclusively friendly relations. The reveal of the cards played against the “tattoos” - the duo lost the lion’s share of fans.
Group "Tatu"
In 2007, the girls distinguished themselves by participating in the gay pride parade, and for the sake of this they even abandoned work on their third studio album. In the summer, Yulia and Lena went to shoot Roland Joffe’s film “You and Me.” The film was based on the work of Russian deputy Alexei Mitrofanov and Russian State University for the Humanities student Anastasia Moiseeva “Tattoo Kam Back”.
Chantel van Santen and Mischa Barton played the main characters. An American and a Russian girl go to the Tatu concert in the Russian capital. The film was shown at the Cannes Film Festival, although outside the competition program.
Song "White Raincoat" by the group "Tatu"
The third English-language album, entitled "Waste Management", was released towards the end of 2009, which came as a surprise to fans. After all, a few months earlier the girls announced that they were going to build a solo career. Moreover, Lena Katina will be supported by the current team, while Yulia Volkova goes on a free voyage all alone.
Six months later, Lena actually appeared on stage alone, but half of the repertoire consisted of “Tatu” songs. A former colleague was hostile to this approach to the matter. However, later on the girls occasionally teamed up in performances, even recorded a track with Mike Tompkins and Legalize “Love in Every Moment” and created a video for it.

In 2013, to the delight of fans, the duo appeared at a joint concert. “Tattoos” also sang at the opening ceremony of the Olympics in Sochi. But a week later, Katina announced on social networks that tATu had broken up again. A little later, Volkova assured fans that in the future, perhaps, the group will come to life again.
Relationships in the group
15-year-old Lena Katina was immediately approved as one of the soloists of the group. The search for the second one continued longer, until the girl herself offered to audition her friend Yulia Volkova, who, like her, was a former member of the group “Fidgets.” According to the producer's idea, the girls had to portray lesbian love, which is what they did during the first years of the group's existence.
Mariana Arias is known for her role in “Wild Angel”: what she looks like today
Svetlana Svetlichnaya said that she has to celebrate her 80th birthday in the company of a cat
Ksenia Katalymova said that “Peace, Friendship, Chewing Gum” is a special series for her
Later, when the duo stopped their collaboration with Ivan Shapovalov, there was no longer a need to portray gayness. By the way, Yulia, five years after the founding of the group, gave birth to a daughter, and three years later, a son. During her first pregnancy, she even had to star in a video. In the story, the heroine Katina orders the execution of the pregnant Volkova. Lena was against such a plot, but Yulia happily depicted the scene.
What the relationship between the teenagers really was remains a mystery. After the collapse of the team, in one interview, Lena Katina herself admitted that the image of lesbians was initially purely a marketing ploy, and she and Yulia were always just friends. Later, confrontation began between the former soloists of the same group. So, in her interviews, Volkova spoke unflatteringly about Katina’s work, to which another could not resist barbs at Volkova, who was constantly experimenting with her appearance.
Got carried away with injections: how the members of the tATu group have changed
2003
Those “tattoos” as we will remember them for the rest of our lives. Lena Katina's small curls and Yulia Volkova's signature bob, as well as natural makeup (schoolgirls, after all) with a difference in tone: Lena relies on pale skin and freckles, Yulia on the tanning effect.
2004
The peak of fame has passed, Eurovision has died down, and the girls look a little tired (in 2004 they will announce a creative break). Lena still sticks to her red color, and Yulia begins experimenting with the shade and shape of her eyebrows.
2006
Girls are clearly growing out of their schoolgirl image and are trying on more expressive makeup. Lena looks great with softly shaded dark eyeliner and mascara, but Yulia's makeup looks a little pretentious. The culprit is eyebrows (13-year-old, today they look old-fashioned) and a yellowish skin tone, most likely caused by self-tanning.
2007
Experiments continue! Lena braided her unruly curls into small braids, and Yulia shortened her hair again. However, it’s not Volkova’s hairstyle that catches the eye, but Volkova’s makeup: the bronzer that generously emphasized the singer’s cheekbones looks too flashy.
2008
There is a striking contrast between how natural Lena looks and how complex Yulia’s image seems. While the former refreshes her hair color, making her curls brighter, Julia is clearly inspired by Amy Winehouse and draws arrows, brightly emphasizes her eyebrows and completes her makeup with bright lipstick. Speaking of lips: it seems they have become a little bigger.
2009
The girls' beauty paths clearly diverge: Lena chooses naturalness, Yulia takes the path of improvement. Abuse of hyaluronic acid injections is immediately visible: due to the fact that fillers attract moisture, the face looks puffy (especially if a significant portion of them ends up in the lips).
2010
Someone stop Julia! The overuse of injections is obvious: the lips look unnaturally large, and the intense tattooing of the eyebrows, complete with pink lipstick, creates the Barbie look of the “brilliant noughties”. Lena clearly wins in comparison: her laconic hairstyle emphasizes the beauty of well-groomed hair, moderately bright makeup makes her face rested and fresh.
2011
It’s fun to watch how the girl from next door becomes a sophisticated girl - in Lena’s case, the absence of childishly chubby cheeks benefited her image. Well, as for Yulia, all that remains is to watch how the singer’s lips live a life of their own.
2012
The era of red lipstick: both “tattoos” tried on bright makeup, and femininity suited both of them. Especially considering that Volkova’s lips “blown away” a little, and Katina’s curls curled into a Hollywood wave.
2014
The girls liked the fatal style! Now the craze for straightening irons has been added to red lipstick, and perfectly straightened strands have replaced curls, braids, hair extensions and daring bobs. And just a few “beauty injections” (how else can you explain Lena’s perfectly smooth skin?).
2018
Happiness is finding a good cosmetologist! And, it seems, Lena received it: there is no fault with the condition of her skin, and her makeup is top notch. But on Yulia’s face there were traces of her passion for injections, and bright touches of makeup (bronzer and shaded eyeliner) only emphasized past mistakes.
2019
They still remain for us the “redhead” and the “dark one” from Tatu - and over these 20 years, their duet can perhaps be recognized only by their hair color. Yulia found herself in the image of a sexy and sizzling brunette, and Lena relied on naturalness - and she was right.

Personal life of Lena Katina
The artist was born on October 4, 1984 in Moscow. The girl's father was a musician who wrote lyrics for the Dune group. Lena was a member of three groups: “Avenue”, “Fidgets”, “Tatu”.

Because of her stage image, Katina did not share details of her personal life for a long time. In the early 2000s, in one of the bars in Los Angeles, the girl met a musician from Slovenia, Sasho Kuzmanovic, but due to a busy touring schedule, the young people remained only friends.
A few years later, after their next meeting, they began dating. In 2012, Lena admitted that for several years she had been in a romantic relationship with a Slovenian musician. In August 2013, the couple officially got married, and in 2020 they had a son, who was named Alexander.
Group tattoo
All season long, the blog “The Art of Scoring” has been looking closely at the tattoos of Premier League players and, in honor of the end of the season, decided to sum up the results and give out prizes to those who distinguished themselves. Footballers whose arms, legs and backs look more like paintings are just a click away from you.
Most religious
Blagoy Georgiev in the winter moved to where the Bulgarians should play - to Amkar. But this is not the reason why he is in our rating. The footballer himself doesn’t even know how many tattoos he has on his body, which he talked about in an interview with Sports.ru:
“More than thirty for sure, but I’ve already lost count. I made the very first one when I was 19 – it was a drawing of Jesus Christ crucified on his back. I was very afraid of what my parents would say, so I didn’t show it to them for three years - my father doesn’t like such things at all. But absolutely all my tattoos have a religious theme.” Here, it’s probably worth saying that the Blagoy not only holds fast, but also builds churches in Bulgaria.
I wonder how people in provincial Grozny reacted to Blagoy?
The most family-friendly
The birth of children is a big event, and for some it is a reason to immortalize this life milestone in a tattoo. Roman Shirokov did just that - the hands of the midfielder of the Russian national team and Zenit are covered with the date of birth of Igor and Victoria. In my opinion, it’s symbolic and simple, but no less cool for that!
The most identical
Dmitry and Kirill Kombarov, as befits twins, have a lot in common: they have the same team, and even tattoos. The defenders of Spartak have “Brothers” and the first letter of their brother’s last name. “This is for the soul,” Kirill explained.
The most original
If pilots during the war marked downed planes with asterisks, then Anzhi defender Andrei Eshchenko similarly marks the teams for which he played. The native of Irkutsk got his first tattoo in Kyiv, where he played for Dynamo. Nowadays, few people can compete with Yeshchenko in the amount of paint under the skin - he has initials, stars, and saints there.
The most patient
Everyone knows that Martin Jiranek worked as a butcher in his youth, played for Spartak, scored goals like these, but few people know what his tattoos mean. We are telling.
The Czech has birthday dates, acquaintances with Anya, Martin's girlfriend, the zodiac signs of his father, brother and mother. And also the word “truth”, the Egyptian cross - the pharaohs had exactly the same ones. The process of applying the dragon to the left hand took the longest; in total, Martin and the master spent 12 hours on it.
“The pain of getting tattoos is a special kind of pain. At first it hurts, then you get used to it, then it gets even worse,” Iiranek himself once admitted.
By the way, Martin once admitted that if Spartak becomes the champion, he will get a tattoo in honor of the club. Czech is no longer red and white, Spartak is not a champion for a long time - not destiny, apparently!
Nomination "Mimi"
Defender of the Italian national team and Zenit Dominico Criscito also immortalized the birth of his son in the form of a tattoo. It's just cute, as Moscow hipsters say on my Twitter feed.
The most devoted
You, of course, know who has the letter “D” stamped on, but there is another football player who not only decided to stamp part of the emblem, but even the team name. This is Luke Wilshere - which is typical, also a Dynamo player. True, I can hardly imagine Luke on any other team, given such a tattoo! However, the Australian has no intention of leaving anywhere yet.
Busiest
Some people spend their entire youth on tattoos, others their whole lives. Pontus Wernlbum, the most useful player in the Russian Championship according to Sports.ru, for example, has not put paint under his skin in recent years. And it’s all about the children, of which the Swede has two. He devotes all his free time to his family, as he announced in a cheerful interview with the CSKA club TV channel. It's definitely worth watching!
And, by the way, about the tattoo: Pontus has the catchphrase Veni, Vidi, Veci tattooed on his left hand, which very clearly characterizes his career. The Swede also adheres to socialist views and chews tobacco (he doesn’t smoke, he actually chews!).
The most ridiculous
Felipo Caicedo has a tear tattooed on his face and, of course, it’s difficult to notice. But the Ecuadorian, whose idol is Rocky Balbao, has his own explanation for why the tear. “She reminds me of my past every time I look in the mirror. “Everything could have turned out differently in my life,” and Felipe is not lying at all. Suffice it to say that he grew up in one of the most crime-ridden cities in South America, and got into football thanks to a reality show.
Most used
A favorite of St. Petersburg fans and readers of the “Footballers on Social Networks” reviews, Axel Witzel, in addition to his fingers, which are always in the same position, also has a tattoo. Not very original, to be honest. In my opinion, such tattoos are typical for black rappers. By the way, they also like to spread their fingers when taking pictures.
The most traditional
The Irish must not only be able to fight well, but also have tattoos. Aiden McGeady is no exception. The Spartak midfielder, who is always going to the English Premier League, also has tattoos. On his triceps is an angel in rays of light, and on the back of his arm is a Catholic cross wrapped in rosary beads.
There is also the phrase “Crede quod habes, et habes,” which translates from Latin as “believe that your dream is possible and it will come true.” By the way, Aiden trusts a master from Bulgaria to paint his body.
“Why do football players love getting tattoos so much? They probably don’t know what else to spend their money on, haha.”
McGeady, by the way, paid £1,000 for this tattoo.
The most "downtrodden"«
Roman Sharonov is not only an example of how you can restart your career, but also a father of five children, a fan of traditional rock, and also a tattoo lover. He has a lot of them, including drawings and names of children. However, in this video everything is in more detail.
The most amazing
In recent years, it’s hard to recognize the heavy forward Roman Pavlyuchenko as the player who ran at the Euro in 2008 and then went to Tottenham. The English newspaper The Times, describing the Russian's first steps in the Premier League, wrote: “Pavlyuchenko does not look like the average Premier League player. He doesn't have tattoos or diamond earrings."
But that soon changed. Roman decided to give himself a birthday present and went to a tattoo parlor. First, the inscription “Save and Preserve” appeared, then the date of birth of his wife and daughter, but Roman decided not to stop and make himself a sleeve. This is how an angel appeared - the image of Larisa, the forward’s wife, pansies and patterns, among which the horoscope sign in Latin fit in - this is Sagittarius. If anyone is interested, you can find out more about Roman’s tattoos here.
Most criticized
Of course, Fyodor Smolov gets the most copies from critics. If the Anzhi striker scored more often than once every year and a half, then no one would laugh at his passion for tattoos and his affair with Victoria Lopyreva.
“When I headed the first team, I said to Smolov: what kind of Tretyakov Gallery is this? In the double, no one had tattoos - with me this is impossible. I think you first need to become a player,” - Sergey Silkin
Fyodor went to a tattoo artist for the first time at the age of 17 and made his first piece, which he dedicated to his parents. Then he painted their names, then there was the inscription Smol, an Orthodox cross, prayers, and at the beginning of this year
, which he dedicated to his future wife. By the way, the last tattoo is similar to the one that
.
In honor of football, Fedor also has a tattoo, which translates to “Football will always be in my heart.”
The coolest
My favorite football player in Russia is Danny. I like not only his acting, but also his tattoos. His ones are really cool. Danny himself tells how his passion began. Well, we will show you the best tattoos - they adorn his back. The most beautiful thing in this picture is the language in which the names Bernando and Francisco are written - Danni knows Russian perfectly! By the way, the kids took after their dad, and if that doesn’t work out, they can watch football from the bend.
In general, most of Danny’s tattoos are dedicated to his family, there is also the famous letter D, which, according to Danny, means his name, but Dynamo fans continue to think differently. In general, in my rating, Danni’s tattoos are the best.
What do you think?

Personal life of Yulia Volkova
The singer was born on February 20, 1985 in Moscow. Her parents were not connected with music: her father was a businessman, and her mother was a stylist. But as a child, the girl graduated from music school and from the age of 9 she sang in front of the public in the group “Fidgets”.
Russian nobles did not work, but where did they get the money and what did they spend it on?
What is the zodiac sign of Nicholas II and how did it affect the emperor’s character?
The student who became a mother was condemned. It turned out that the girl was keeping a secret about her daughter.
Yulia Volkova's first serious relationship with bodyguard Pavel Sidorov ended in pregnancy and the birth of her daughter Vika. The situation for the lovers was complicated by the fact that Pavel was legally married and raising a daughter. Therefore, the union of lovers did not last long, and soon the young people separated.
Then the girl was seen in a romantic relationship with Smash group member Vlad Topalov. Despite media statements about an imminent wedding, this never happened. Later, Yulia Volkova began dating businessman Parviz Yasinov and even converted to Islam for his sake. The romance between the young people was very stormy, and they soon got married. In this marriage, a son, Samir, was born, but the young father did not want to spend time with his family, and Yulia decided to get a divorce.
In 2020, the singer shocked the public with her next romance with Georgiy Zarandia, better known as Gia Galsky. This novel lasted no more than a year. In the summer of 2020, on her social media page, Julia posted a photo in a white dress and a bouquet of roses, officially declaring that she got married. Volkova’s chosen one still remains unknown to the general public.
Decl (Kirill Tolmatsky)
Decl.
Still from the video “Party” Fans of youth music will remember Decl as a bright rapper and a brave singer performing in the hip-hop genre. Kirill Tolmatsky familiar with music that was then atypical for Russia in Switzerland - there he received an education, which his father, a famous Moscow producer, helped him obtain.
The first rap compositions of the guy, who performed under the pseudonym Decl, were a huge success among young people. His face appeared on the covers of magazines, Decl’s compositions received prestigious awards, discs were sold in the millions...
However, by the mid-2000s, its popularity began to decline. The fourth and fifth albums, released in 2008 and 2010, no longer caused a stir. In 2014, Decl recorded two albums with American, European and Asian musicians. And in 2016, he filed a lawsuit against Vasily Vakulenko (known to rap fans as Basta ), with whom Decl had a falling out on social networks. The conflict between them continues to this day.

Andrey Gubin
Andrey Gubin.
Photo by Roman Denisov / ITAR-TASS In the late 1990s and early 2000s, Andrei Gubin captivated lovers of lyrical music with his compositions “Tramp Boy,” “Winter Cold,” “Girls Like Stars,” and others. Cheerful catchy compositions sounded at all discos, they were listened to in every home. However, at the peak of his career, the musician was struck by a rare disease. More than 10 years ago, Andrey Gubin was diagnosed with left-sided prosopalgia. It was this disease that caused the distortion of the facial muscles.
Gubin began to experience constant pain, not allowing him to go on stage, or even just communicate with people. It hurts him to speak, it hurts to smile, and it’s completely impossible to sing.
The singer is very complex because of his distorted face and poor health, but the doctors cannot help him. He has no family, and Gubin lives on royalties. He is lonely and communicates little with people - he spends money on food and on the gym in order to at least stay in shape.
