Bride's dress
On the eve of the royal wedding, one of the main and intriguing questions was the bride's wedding dress. Bookmakers even made bets - Ralph & Russo, Stella McCartney and Victoria Beckham were among the favorites, but the future duchess managed to surprise everyone. Her wedding dress was created by British Claire Waight Keller, creative director of the French fashion house Givenchy.

Clare Waight Keller herself says that in this dress she wanted to combine Givenchy codes and modern shapes that would look relevant years later. “It was a huge honor for me and the entire team to work with Ms. Markle, get to know her better and realize everything we planned together.” For example, the dress was created in the best traditions of Givenchy, using only six seams, and its key element was the bateau neckline - discreet, but focusing on the fragile collarbones of the Duchess of Sussex.

At the gala evening dinner, the newly minted duchess appeared in a new dress - it had already been created by the British Stella McCartney. If during the day Markle’s outfit was emphatically closed, then the evening wedding dress of the Duchess of Sussex already revealed her shoulders and more clearly emphasized her figure. The look was completed with Aquazzura pumps with a playful blue sole to honor the tradition of having something “blue”.

A wedding cake
The theme of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding was “When Spring Meets Summer,” which is why pastry chef and owner of Violet Cakes in East London Claire Ptak created just that for the event. “Prince Harry and Ms. Markle asked us to create a lemon cake that would be filled with the fresh scents of spring. It will also be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers,” representatives of Kensington Palace shared on the eve of the wedding. In addition, the newlyweds abandoned the traditional multi-tiered cake, opting for a rather modest dessert.

Royal wedding scent
In anticipation of the royal wedding, an individual unisex fragrance was created for the bride and groom from the famous perfume house Floris London, which has been a supplier to the British royal court since 1820. In 2011, the house already created the Wedding Bouquet fragrance for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, and also annually releases a fragrance in honor of the birthday of Queen Elizabeth II. The fragrance will not be available for sale and was presented exclusively as part of the Floris private collection for the royal family. Its composition contains motifs of the citrus-sea Bergamotto di Positano: sea and citrus notes, bergamot, spices and tree bark.

The bride's bouquet
The creation of the wedding bouquet was entrusted to florist Philippa Craddock. Previously, Philippa decorated the Victoria and Albert Museum, and also collaborated with designers at the Alexander McQueen and Christian Dior shows. Beech, birch and hornbeam branches were also used for the floral decoration of the ceremony and the party afterwards. To decorate St. George's Chapel, where the wedding took place, the florist chose white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves. They also formed the basis for the bouquets of the bridesmaids and Meghan Markle herself.

Prince Harry himself chose the flowers for the bouquet, and even collected some of them in the White Garden of Kensington Palace. A year earlier, Princess Diana's white tea roses were planted there. With this bouquet he honored the memory of his late mother. The bouquet also included Princess Diana's favorite flowers, forget-me-nots.

Bride's wedding decorations
The bride's wedding headdress is a diamond tiara that previously belonged to Queen Mary of Teck, grandmother of Queen Elizabeth II, and which the latter gave to Meghan Markle for the ceremony. It was created in 1932, and the central stone dates back to 1893. Meghan Markle also wore a bracelet to the wedding ceremony and earrings from the Cartier jewelry house for the gala dinner.

Meghan's engagement ring, in keeping with a tradition dating back to 1923, was made from Welsh gold previously mined at the Clogau Gold mine. It is used to make wedding jewelry for members of the royal family. The gold for Meghan's ring was a personal gift from Queen Elizabeth II. Prince Harry ordered the jewelry itself from royal jeweler Harry Collins and took part in the development of the design himself.
Marriage contract
Prince Harry is worth an estimated £30 million - £20 million from his own money and £10 million from his mother, Princess Diana. According to the official procedure, he was supposed to enter into a marriage contract with Meghan Markle, but the prince refused this on principle. On the wedding day, he said that he did not see the need for this and believed in the longevity of this marriage.

Barefoot wedding in Jamaica with drugs
Megan's first love, who is known to the public, was director Trevor Engelson. 23-year-old Markle met him in 2004 and seven years later the couple decided to legalize their relationship. The celebration took place on September 10, 2011 in the city of Ocho Rios in Jamaica.
Megan and Trevor rented rooms at the five-star Jamaica Inn and caroused for four days in a row. The ceremony took place on the beach, where a banquet area was organized. Markle walked down the aisle in a simple white dress and barefoot.
In the following days, guests had fun on the beach: they held competitions, swam in the Caribbean Sea and sunbathed.

After Megan became a duchess, it turned out that there were drugs at her wedding. Western tabloids wrote that Markle personally ordered marijuana for 200 people, although there were much fewer guests. The actress herself did not smoke, as she does not use drugs, but those invited were pleased.
Two years later, Megan and Trevor announced that they were breaking up. In August 2013, the divorce was officially filed. But, despite the separation, Engelson continued to provide for his ex-wife until the announcement of his engagement to the British prince in November 2020.
Megan was credited with having an affair with her partner in the TV series “Suits”
In 2011, Megan was invited to star in the TV series Suits, in which she played Rachel Zane, an employee who is trying to build a career without the help of her influential lawyer father. In the story, Rachel falls in love with one of the main characters, Mike Ross. He was played by Canadian actor Patrick Jay Adams.

After it became known about the engagement of the Prince and Megan, Patrick was suspected of having a relationship with his partner in the series. In the evening, the actor posted a photo from the series on his Instagram page, in which he kisses Markle on the cheek. In the morning, the post attracted so many angry and accusatory comments that Adams had to justify himself. Like, I’m married (in 2020, Patrick married the star of the series “Pretty Little Liars” Troian Bellisario - Ed.), and Megan is just a colleague.
“I realized that I live in a world in which I cannot publish things related to Megan,” the actor commented on the incident to Esquire magazine.
What was the highlight of the ceremony?
There were many such moments, but if we talk about the most memorable episode - both for the guests and for the audience - then it was, without a doubt, the speech of the American bishop.
- “Lighted up” at the wedding or Who is Bishop Michael Curry?
The head of the American Episcopal Church, Michael Curry, was invited from Chicago by the bride and Prince Harry.
Some of those present called the priest’s sermon “fiery”; some could not contain their laughter; others sat with surprised faces.

His 13-minute speech will be remembered for a long time by the guests and spectators of the ceremony, and his parting words to the bride and groom about the power of love and fiery energy, which he (also fiery) read from an iPad, definitely shocked those gathered.
Curry emotionally waved his arms, turned in different directions, shouted and rolled his eyes. Queen Elizabeth II of Britain reacted warily to Curry.

In his parting words, Curry quoted Martin Luther King. “We must discover the redemptive power of love within ourselves, and when this happens, a new world will come,” he literally shouted to the entire chapel.
The end of his speech was greeted by the guests with thunderous applause.
