The girl studied music and dancing. At the age of eleven, Ekaterina first came to the set where her father was filming the film “The World After the War.” Anatoly gave his daughter a small role, for which she prepared with all seriousness, despite her young age. However, Katya began to think about a career as an actress much later, and at that time she dreamed of becoming a ballerina. But it was too late to start studying ballet, because girls of eight or nine years old were taken there.
At the age of thirteen, Ekaterina and her family visited Leningrad, where their friend was filming a film about the famous Soviet ballerina Alla Osipenko. The ballerina appreciated the girl’s grace and, unfortunately, stated that her parents were unable to recognize her talent in time. Osipenko agreed to study with Ekaterina, but her parents refused to leave the girl alone in an unfamiliar city.
Ekaterina Nikitina in her youth
At a school with in-depth study of the English language, the future actress studied well, but exact sciences were difficult for her. By the tenth grade, Nikitina decided to follow in her mother’s footsteps and try herself as an actress, in which her family supported her.
Ekaterina entered the All-Russian State University of Cinematography named after S. A. Gerasimov while still a schoolgirl, becoming a free student of the acting course. She got there on the recommendation of her mother’s friend Natalya Gvozdikova, who at that time was taking a course with teacher and actor Anatoly Romashin. The girl did not have time for the exams, but Romashin agreed to listen to her. It is not surprising that Nikitina’s acting abilities more than satisfied the teacher and he took her to his place. In her year, Ekaterina was the youngest and studied extremely hard.
