Evgeny Aleksandrovich Kochergin

(born November 7, 1945, Stalingrad, RSFSR, USSR) - Soviet and Russian announcer and TV presenter. Announcer of the Central Television of the USSR State Television and Radio [1]. Honored Artist of the RSFSR[2].

Biography

Evgeny Kochergin was born on November 7, 1945 in Stalingrad (now Volgograd)[3].

He began his television career in the city of Mirny (Yakutia), from there he was sent to courses in Moscow[4].

In 1972 he graduated from the Faculty of Industrial Planning of the Financial and Industrial Institute in Moscow. He worked as an engineer and was a member of the CPSU[3].

In 1970, he joined the staff of announcers of the Central Television of the USSR State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company[5]. He studied with Yuri Levitan, Lyudmila Kaygorodova, Olga Vysotskaya, and completed an internship at the Mayak radio station[3]. For several decades he led one of the main programs in our country - the “Time” program[6].

He took part in broadcasts of holidays and celebrations on Red Square, and participated in the opening of the memorial complex on Poklonnaya Hill. In 1980, he acted as a speaker-commentator at the opening and closing of the Summer Olympic Games in Moscow. In 1985, together with Vera Shebeko and Alexander Tikhomirov, he conducted live broadcasts from the Luzhniki Stadium of the opening and closing ceremonies of the XII World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow (Igor Kirillov announced the start of the broadcasts).

He took part in festive concerts dedicated to memorable dates in the State Kremlin Palace (KDS), in the Column Hall of the House of Unions, and the State Central Concert Hall "Russia". He is the constant host of the Moscow City Day celebrations. He took part in the Days of Soviet Television in Yugoslavia, Hungary, Bulgaria and a number of other countries[3].

On August 19, 1991, during the August putsch, Evgeny Kochergin, together with announcer Vera Shebeko, read out in the Vremya program on Central Television a statement from the State Emergency Committee about the impossibility of USSR President M. S. Gorbachev fulfilling his duties due to health reasons and about introducing a state of emergency in the country . After the defeat and self-dissolution of the State Emergency Committee, the last episode of the program was held with Galina Zimenkova[7].

After leaving the Vremya program, Kochergin spent several more years reading the TV program on the 1st Ostankino television channel.

From 1994 to 1997 he worked on the Delovaya Rossiya TV channel as an economic observer[3].

Personal life of Evgeny Kochergin

The announcer was married twice. He got married for the first time in Yakutia. There his daughter Natalya was born. The presenter does not like to remember this period of his life.
