The forensic scientist works in tandem with investigator Ekaterina Filatova, played by Anastasia Mikulchina. Together the heroes will have to participate in the capture of a maniac nicknamed the Demon.
Choosing a life path
Anastasia Mikulchina had dreams of an acting profession while still in high school. She was involved in an amateur art group, staged plays and wrote scripts. The girl was thinking about entering a theater university, but her parents dissuaded her. Her mother and father wanted her to acquire a “serious” profession.

Anastasia admits that at first it was difficult for her, accustomed to the sun, to get used to the unusual climate. Anastasia's aptitude for acting began to manifest itself in early childhood. In kindergarten, where her mother worked as a teacher, Nastya constantly played the role of the Snow Maiden during the holidays.
Anastasia always dreamed of becoming an actress, but was afraid to admit it to her parents. After graduating from the lyceum, she decided to become a journalist. In 2006, Anastasia Mikulchina graduated from the St. Petersburg Theater Academy. In the same year, the famous director Viktor Merezhko began filming the series “Sonka the Golden Hand,” which tells about the life of the legendary queen of the thieves’ world, the elusive and inventive adventurer Sofya Blyuvshtein.
The director was looking for an actress for the role of the main character for a long time. Among other applicants, Anastasia came to audition. But she was unlucky - Merezhko was not at the casting that day. After taking pictures, the girl left for Bern on tour of the play “Zhelezyaka”.
Meanwhile, Merezhko looked at 70 girls from 15 to 19 years old, but none of them suited him. The director was almost in despair when suddenly he came across a photograph of Anastasia Mikulchina. He immediately asked his assistant to invite this girl to audition.
As soon as Anastasia returned to St. Petersburg, she immediately went to meet Merezhko. The actress says: “We talked for a long time, and when I left, he said: “In general, I liked you.” To which I replied: “You can’t even imagine how much I liked you!” It was he who later admitted that I simply killed him with this phrase. And from the very beginning we had very warm and friendly relations - complete agreement and almost the same point of view on all issues. To be honest, I didn’t fully believe that this was possible.”
The young, unknown Anastasia Mikulchina faced a very difficult task. She had to play a heroine between the ages of sixteen and forty, which in itself is already difficult even for experienced actresses.
The series turned out to be large-scale and complex. Filming took place in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Odessa, Karelia, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. 50 dresses were sewn for Sonya alone. As Anastasia Mikulchina admitted, she felt most comfortable in the heroine’s children’s dresses. She had to get used to luxurious outfits with crinolines and corsets as filming progressed. But talent is talent. Having successfully gotten used to the role, Anastasia looked equally convincing in any scene - both in the chic St. Petersburg interiors and in the snow at the Sakhalin penal servitude. Her slightly perceptible accent also came in very handy, since Sonya herself was from near Warsaw.
Anastasia Mikulchina herself admits that the most difficult for her were the final scenes, when Sonya decides to return to her daughters who disowned her: “I don’t have children of my own, and I only know from hearsay what betrayal of loved ones is.”
The series was released on screens across the country in April 2007, attracting a huge audience. Anastasia Mikulchina immediately became famous throughout the country. This is a big advance, but I think that she will definitely justify it with her new works.

Working on the series left Anastasia with unforgettable impressions. There were moments when the aspiring actress felt that she could not cope with the task that the director set for her. The most difficult scenes for Mikulchina were those filmed in a real prison cell. All this happened in winter, and her heroine was dressed in rags.
