Childhood photo of Natasha Negoda

Constantly busy parents did not have enough time to raise their daughter, so they were forced to first send her to a nursery, and then to a kindergarten for five days. The lack of parental attention led to Natasha growing up as an independent, but rather withdrawn child, immersed in the world of her own fantasies.

The girl dreamed of becoming a ballerina, but here she was severely disappointed: the selection committee at the ballet studio considered Natasha not slender and flexible enough and rejected her.

Natalya Negoda in her school years

She was not interested in studying at school; the actress considers her years of study to be the most terrible time of her life. The restless creative nature made itself felt and demanded an outlet, so the girl decided to become an actress.

Despite the protests of her parents, she took the documents to the theater school, but did not pass the competition. This failure only provoked the ambitious Natalya, and she got a job as a tour guide at the Theater Museum. This work revealed the magical world of art to her in a new way and gave her unforgettable meetings with interesting creative personalities who willingly shared their knowledge and experience with the inquisitive girl.

Oleg Efremov was Natalia Negoda's mentor

A year later, Natalya successfully entered the Moscow Art Theater School and took a course with the famous Oleg Efremov. His son Mikhail also studied there, with whom Negoda soon began a stormy but short-lived affair.

The happy student years flew by quickly, and in 1986, after graduating from university, the question of finding a job arose. Of all the capital's theaters, only the Youth Theater was interested in the young actress and invited her to its troupe. But two years later, Natalya got tired of roles in children's plays, and she decided to try her hand at cinema and left the Youth Theater “for nothing.”

First successes and failures

After graduating from school, the future star easily entered GITIS, choosing the choreographer's department. She was gladly invited to dance on the stage of the Moscow Academic Musical Theater. During her student years, Natalya Trubnikova also thought about a career as an actress, as teachers spoke positively about her dramatic talent.

Unfortunately, the appearance of the future “Melicent” turned out to be too bright, in the opinion of the cinematic authorities, who were convinced that the aspiring actress would not be able to create the traditional image of a “Komsomol girl.” Natalya received refusals all the time, and she learned to take it philosophically. Trubnikova could have made her debut in the film “A Farm in the Steppe,” but she was forced to refuse, as she was going to go on tour to France. The aspiring actress's attempt to play Mary Poppins was also unsuccessful - she was not accepted without explanation.

In the film “Romance of Lovers,” viewers could also see such a wonderful actress as Natalya Trubnikova. The star's biography shows that she regretted her refusal to star in this film for a long time. She liked the role, but found it too difficult.

Actor career

Her first serious film work was the role of schoolgirl Zina in Yuri Kara’s dramatic film Tomorrow There Was War.

But real success came to Negoda in 1988, after the release of Vasily Pichul’s social drama “Little Vera,” which became an unprecedented event in Soviet cinema of the perestroika era. Largely due to the presence of explicit sex scenes, which was previously unprecedented for Soviet cinema. In addition, in the film, the classic conflict between fathers and sons was presented from a position that was unusual for Soviet viewers: the realities of youthful life were conveyed with an unsightly, frightening realism.

“Little Vera” - the star role of Natalia Negoda

Initially, Natalya didn’t like either the role or the script itself, so she didn’t take the auditions seriously, not really trying to impress the director. But this played into her hands, and Negoda was approved for the main role, leaving Irina Apeksimova and Yana Poplavskaya out of work. About the film “Little Faith” The film had the effect of a bomb exploding, and the leading actors (Natalia’s partner was actor Andrei Sokolov) were proclaimed “sex symbols of the Land of the Soviets.” Negoda traveled half the world with the film, won many prestigious film awards, including awards from film festivals in Venice, Chicago, Montreal, and was also recognized as the best actress of 1988 according to the Soviet Screen magazine. The girls, as one, dressed up in Vera’s costume - a striped blouse, mesh stockings, a black skirt and huge hoop earrings. It would seem that now all roads were open to the young actress, but, unfortunately, Negoda remained hostage to her “star” role. In 1989, the tragicomedy “Dark Nights in the City of Sochi” from the same Vasily Pichul, with whom Negoda really enjoyed working, was released. “He is a director with amazing intuition for mood and intonation. He was unusually gentle with the actors - I worked the role completely freely,” the actress recalled.

But, according to viewers, this film by Pichul was frankly weaker than “Little Vera”. It was subconsciously perceived as a continuation of “Vera,” and the heroine of Negoda, expelled from the university Lena, did not avoid parallels with the star role of the actress.
